Expected since it was a Zutara Week one-shot and one I struggled with.

12. Favorite character to write about this year

Dilandau Albatou. I’ve written a few one-shots focused on him this year (not too mention a smutty one) and some of my other stories feature him has well. And I have even more planned. Always a favorite and I never tire of exploring this wonderfully bonkers character.

The runner-up would be the FolkenxEries ship since I also enjoyed writing about them (especially In A Crowd of Thousands and though I haven’t gotten to that part yet, they will figure significantly in A Bargain of Souls too).

14. A fic you didn’t expect to write

Mistletoe, Mischief, and the Mystic Moon

I literally decided to write it in the middle of Christmas Day and just churned it out in less than an hour just so I could post it on time. But it was a lot of fun.

I had the idea for this for a while but I never thought I’d have the guts to actually start writing this. In the end, I think it was a good exercise and another attempt at ridiculous smut. While I’m not sure if I’m improving, I’m less squeamish about writing it now.

18. Current number of wips

6. Surprisingly less than I expected. I’m so glad that I finished Revelations in the Rain this year. Only a few of these are old ones so that’s a relief. All but one are Esca stories so that’s something. Shows how invested I am in this fandom.

And I know the ask was just for the number but I might as well give the titles anyway and I’m using this excuse to write about them too:

1. Zaibach’s Bounty [Escaflowne, Merlandau] Long road ahead for this one and I haven’t mapped it out completely. Hopefully I can add a few chapters to this but I doubt I’ll complete it this year.

2. Strays in a Storm [Escaflowne, Merlandau] I thought I’d get it done in 2019 but stuff happened so now I don’t want to commit. But I do have a clearer vision of how this ends and I know that I only have 5 chapters left so I might be able to conclude this. Fingers crossed.

3. Mafarrakh d’afrukh [Hobbit x Avatar crossover] An ambitious endeavor. I’ve had this plotted in my head for years but I need to properly map out the chapters. This is going to be a long journey though. Risky one too since it’s a crossover with an OC so not a lot of interest there. But I’d like to add a chapter or two if I can.

4. Dragon Kin [Escaflowne, Merlandau, FolkenxEries] Such an ambitious project. I know where this is going to go but there is so much ground to cover. Hopefully I can add a chapter or two but I’m not sure.

5. Ajar [Escaflowne, Merlandau] Probably just one more smutty chapter. But it always takes a while to put something together because I don’t want it to be too terrible. But hopefully can be completed this year.

6. A Bargain of Souls [Escaflowne, FolkenxEries] Should be the easiest to complete. Only two chapters left and I have them mapped out.

19. Any new fics to start next year

Whoo boy. As usual, my ambitious brain wants to start so many things but I’m trying to limit myself to what would be feasible.

So for now I have my 2 Esca Secret Santa gifts (which will be posted soon) and a request from one of my reviewers that will be a multi-chapter Hitomi x Dilandau fic. Uncharted territory but I already have a plan and I’m eager to write it (even if my main ship will always be Merlandau, I always believe that Dilandau has chemistry with practically anyone and definitely potential with Hitomi.)

Maybe I’ll pick up one of my other ideas for a FxE fic but we’ll see.

I’ll limit myself to these three for now because I also want to update and complete some of my WIPs.
