I am pretty sure I've made this exact post before but I think it's sooooo funny how much people like to complain about the "don't over-deliver, you're creating patterns" gdc talk while also complaining that the reason destiny 2 is """bad""" now is because they are delivering a consistent level of content that steadily improves instead of every season getting exponentially bigger and better than the last like do you hear yourself bestie

#gameplay wise this is the best season we've ever had by the way #narratively it is also pretty darn good though that's more subjective #it takes 3 months to develop content for a season. you cannot do 4 months of work in 3 months without crunching. #and if you do 4 months of work in 3 months once. you are setting yourself up to have to do that forever to meet player expectations #please develop your frontal cortex. #i do have complaints about the narrative this year (defiance & lf) but guess what! those are indicative of over-committing #lf had a shorter development time than wq. defiance tried to make a big moment even though expansion seasons are generally smaller. #and coming off a very well-polished narrative w/ seraph #like im not trying to make infinite excuses but like! these things don't happen because everybody on the team suddenly got bad at their job #they happen because of poor planning and rushed deadlines!!! this is why you cannot over deliver in a live service environment!!!! #in conclusion i hate seasonal models and im so excited for the episode format god nuke the games industry please
