Marriage of State AU Fic Titles: Theories & Responses

@fanny-passerine I am absolutely blown away by how much thought and effort you put into this and it's getting it's own post because the original was getting a bit long XD

Also I do have more than this planned, i just also have a couple that are currently basically titled "Character X Does Y" right now as place holders because I have no idea what I want to title them.

An Unexpected Adventure -> this one is kind of vague, but I think it may be able being lost somewhere with people the narrator/main character usually doesn't hang out with ! In a strange situation probably. It may be something dumb that caused this adventure.

It is a bit vague, that one is one of the fic titles that was less set in stone, it was basically a mishmash of the memed line from the Hobbit movie "I'm going on an adventure!" and the first chapter title of the Hobbit Book "An Unexpected Party" I actually had a worldbuilding development while rubber-ducking at a friend that has completely changed the tone of the events of this particular one so it is probably going to be renamed. But it absolutely is and was something dumb that caused this adventure XD

Divine Dust -> probably something to do with religion, so my guess is probably Xonorth or Scott, because you already talked about that religious trauma, so I can see it fit.

Definitely a bit religion heavy (tho a lot of these are, due to the nature of both the canon and by extension the au) This is actually Pix's backstory!

Down in the Meadow in the Itty Bitty Pool -> I had to search for this one because I'm french soooo cultural differences but it's a reference to a children song about three little fishes and their mother fish, and from what I get the three little fishes want to have fun without caring about consequences (like all kids) and the mother is scared they'll get lost. Then the little fishes almost get eaten. So they go back to their mother.

(I honestly think most knew about this one but I didn't so! There was a recap)

So yeah, with all the fishes I would have thought it was about the seablings, but at the same time there's 3 little fishes, not 2... But on the other hand, Jimmy is always presented as hot-blooded and fast to take decisions, from what I've seen. So my guess is that Lizzie is the mother fish and that Jimmy is the little fish wanting some freedom but putting himself in danger by doing so.

It is from that nursery song, tho I think a simplified version (and also the version I learned when I was small was very dialectal and I had to very carefully type the title so I didn't type "down by the meddy in the itty bitty poo") The relevant parts for the fic are that it's a kids song and about fish in water.

The "one sentence summary" i have jotted down for this one is "Jimmy Solidarity and the World's Longest Childhood"

This is the first big fic, the one I'm working on right now, "Local Prince Marries Tall Murder-Salamander Queen. They Fall in Love"

Just Keep Swimming -> if we take this in the literal sense, one of the seablings, or the two of them. Or it's figurative, and then I don't know. Something about focusing on keep moving. Keep living. Don't focus on anything else. Live. Or even just survive ?

You actually hit this pretty much right on the money! This is the Lizzie backstory.

Lost and Found -> Shrub, because I don't have anywhere else where to fit her, but also because the things found in a Lost and Found are usually small things, and Shrub is a gnome.... Which is small... That's a stretch I know.

Shrub plays a roll in this one but it's not her story. :D

Meddling in Dragon's Affairs -> the roseblings ! They get ender dragons at the end of the serie, right ? I believe. And also Fwhip's elytras are a little dragon coded, so...

Very close! This one is about Gem. It's part backstory part Current Events Leading Into Major Plot

Mistakes were made -> this one is gonna be about a quiproquo, I think. Maybe due to cultural differences. There must be many of them, especially with arranged marriage, so that's my guess. Or someone is gonna fall in love when they didn't plan on doing so (who does, honestly, but I'm more talking about a "them? Oh I'm fucked" moment).

The ending moments of this one are definitely "Oh I'm fucked" in vibes that's for sure, though not romantically coded in anyway. This one is a short one-shot featuring mostly Sausage and Shrub.

My Brothers Keeper -> I think it's from either from Lizzie's pov, Gem's pov, Scott's pov or Xornoth's pov, because they all have brothers, and we're talking about "my brothers keeper"...

This was the second concept i came up with for this specific au, Xornoth's backstory.

Peace in our Time -> okay isn't Katherine kingdom all about peace and negociations, or is that only a fanon belief ? So maybe that's a fic about Katherine's thoughts on being the peaceful one, hoping to achieve peace in her time ? Not my most creative guess (as if they were creative honestly) but I think it might be that.

Katherine's thing is neutrality, more than peace. Peace is mentioned of course and is a priority but her primary focus is staying out of conflicts. This is one of the titles I'm a little less certain of and am kind of hoping a better one will come to me as i actually write it, it's the Flower Husband's fic.

Rose of Fire -> Fwhip, Gem, Pearl or Sausage ! With the Wither Rose alliance. I've got a feeling it may be more about Fwhip, though. Don't ask me why. It's just a feeling.

Wild One -> okay I always hear this wording when talking about a wild kid who has ton of energy and doesn't trust easily a little like an animal so... Young Jimmy maybe ?

I got the title from this song and it is someone's backstory, that's where I'll leave it for now :)

We're All Mad Here -> now that's a reference to Alice in Wonderland. The Mad Hatter says that about the Wonderland, I believe. Sooo it could refer to a strange empire. My guess kind of is Joey and Xornoth ? Their relationship. In canon, it's quite intense. Or Joel maybe ? With the idea that all his inhabitants are statues made in his image, it's quite... Crazy, and uncanny when you think about it. Though I don't know if it's canon on this au.

My one sentence summary for this one is "Joel, Pixlriffs, and the Consequences of Immortality Where it was Never Meant to Be"

Hmm... Good question XD. You know I am proud of my stories, but I have a hard time picking out individual lines I like best. But here are a few I like from Ever After (since that's the one I'm actively working on):

"The door slammed with the finality of a coffin lid."

(Maybe it's a touch cheesy, but I'm still happy with it.)

"Fredbear’s accusing black eyes bore into him from across the mattress, seeing straight through the lie he'd never voiced."

(This line didn't quite want to work at first and I was so happy when I finally felt like I got it right.)

“EVAN!” Elizabeth screeched, wiping the sand from her face and hair. “YOU GOOBER!”

(I just really had fun writing Ev and Liz being happy, goofy kids and I can actually hear Elizabeth's little girl scream every time I reread that line.)

“JESUS BLOODY FUCK-!”

(I sent this to my friend with limited context. He told me it made him giggle. It still makes me giggle.)

👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

I dunno if I have any 'wild' headcanons. I mean the FNAF fandom is pretty much held together by the popsicle sticks and glue that are crazy headcanons. Mine seem pretty tame by comparison.

A headcanon I do have that I haven't really done much with is that Mike actually has a different mother than the twins (and yeah, I do headcanon Ev and Liz as twins). In my version of events, Will had a drunken one night stand with Mike's mom when he was either still engaged to or newly married to Evan's and Elizabeth's mom. It did cause some tension, but ultimately Will managed to convince his wife to stay with him. However, she made it 100% clear from the get go that she wasn't interested in raising another woman's child. Will said that he was okay with that, but he had the presumptuous idea that she would change her mind because Michael is his son, his DNA, and she loves him so how could she not love his offspring as well? They fought about this expectation a lot and eventually the tension boiled over. William blamed Michael for the marriage dissolving, but since Michael grew up thinking that Will's wife was his mom, he never realized the true reason. Growing up, Michael assumed she left because of his bad behavior as a kid.

Hello there, Anon, and sorry to keep you waiting! ^^' But first of all, thank you so much for your kind words, I'm touched TT_TT You make my day ❤️ As you wish, my dear Anon! I'm happy to share something about them (and a little more, so sorry about that already xD). Just let's remember that these are works in process and the order of those are random :) Well, except the first one is coming out after the Light in my Nightmares :'D

1. Black Knight & Princess AU

This is a request, and mostly this one is introducing the universe and the background story that I'm usually using with this AU. To be honest, I don't have any big and wholesome story to tell (at least not now), but I have liked to think of some ShinRan scenarios from here and there. But I wish I got myself to write more about this AU, and I'm hoping that revealing the background story would make it easier for me when I don't have to think during every BK&P fic how much I need to explain that people would know what's going on ^^'

2. Roulette of Destiny spin-off

What happened in Tokyo when Shinichi and Ran were traveling around Japan? What did their parents do or thought when they found out that their children, who they had promised to marry their friend's child, had run away? I wonder...

So this one is basically telling the story mostly from Yukiko's and Eri's view: How they ended up arranging Shinichi's and Ran's marriage and what they did when they learned that Shinichi and Ran had run away. I want to write something from their point of view. The problem is that I haven't figured out the name for this one! I'm so bad with names TT_TT

3. Life Imprisonment

Okay, so I was in a Finnish fanfiction forum and there were many writing challenges. One of them was Fluff10 (the idea was to write ten fluff fics), in which one I participate with Detective Conan. This was the only fic that I published for that challenge (I lost my motivation to write more), and when I remembered this one, I decided that its time to translate and share it with you! To be honest, not my greatest work, but I still like the idea :)

So the story is: Ran has stolen something which belongs to Shinichi, and Shinichi decides that it's time to punish her. But how long that punishment is going to last, depends if Ran wants to return the stolen thing back to him or not.

Gosh, I'm still a little proud that I got this idea xD

4. Our Greatest Masterpiece

This one is another one for the Fluff10 challenge, but sadly, I never publish this. But I liked this one pretty much, and when I found it while looking at that previous fic, I decided that I'm going to translate this one too and share it with you. But instead of being ShinRan, this one is a short fic about Yusaku/Yukiko and their greatest masterpiece ;)

5. Doctor!Ran & Detective!Shinichi

Another request I got from Tumblr and I started to draft it a little bit since I got an idea though there is not much. At this point, it's something like: "Five times Shinichi and Ran met during the case, and one time they didn't." :D They meet by accident at one crime scene and don't get along, but somehow they happen to be in the same places at the same time a few more times and start to like each other :D

6. It's Always You

This one was asked before, but the basic idea is that after the Black Organisation is taken down, Shinichi and Ran try to date, but sadly Conan-thing has left marks on them and they decide to break up and stay as friends. Shinichi moves to America and tries to move on with his life. After four years he makes a visit to Japan with his parents and fiancee, and of course, he meets Ran again - and realize that he still loves her.

Bonus: Slowly learning that life is okay

This is another fic I had written in Finnish and published. This was for a challenge where we needed to choose one song and decide from its lyrics five titles for our fics. So I took A-ha's Take on me. It included many candidates that were suitable for ShinRan - even when they were a little sad, but when you think about it, doesn't ShinRan be a little sad couple: They love each other so much, but Ran is always worried about him and barely meet or heard about him, and Shinichi is always there by her side, unable to do anything to ease Ran's mind and holding the big secret from her.

But even though four of them were about ShinRan, one of them wasn't, and it was this one. Because when I looked at those lyrics back then and saw this, I didn't think ShinRan: I thought about Haibara Ai. So while searching that Life Imprisonment fic, I also happened to see this one too, and after reading it again, I decided that I like it enough that I should translate it too at some point :)

(And if you're interested, other titles were: Today is another day to find you (Ran goes to Shinichi's home and tries to find any clues where he is, and finally got a call from him), I'll be coming for your love, okay? (which happened at the same time as the previous one, so Shinichi as Conan, is at Agasa's house, sees that someone (= Ran) is in his home, and decided to call Ran and try to ease her worries), I'll be gone (Shinichi makes a fast visit to see Ran while he is on his own body) and (Things that you say) Is it a life or just to play my worries away? (where Kogoro is lost, Ran is worried, and Shinichi tells her that there is nothing to worry about, but still goes to search that old man for Ran without telling her))

So yeah, that kind of fics there are waiting to be working on :D Thank you for asking, hopefully, there is some fic that interests you ^^

Which one has more friends? Lilith because she's far more charming and good with words unlike Rohan who all but hisses at random passerbys

What do they argue about the most? I think they both like to be in control and have the last word so they easily get into an argument over the dumbest disagreements

I feel like in the Very beginning before They knew each other. Dory would have dropped something, Maurice would have picked it Up and wanted to Return it to her. She was Intimidated by His gaze, however He quickly apologized and told him how He can't express emotions except with His Screen. She was confused Till she realized He was a Robot during that Talk. Lightcycle races were something Maurice introduced her Too and they kinda became racing Buddies then Till later Maurice kinda realized His Feelings for her we're Stronger. Lets say Thanks to Damon who shared His experiences. Maurice was also fascinated because Maurice Unique Magic only half worked at Dory, He couldn't Analyse her completly. After His Overblot Maurice is more emotional and attached to her. Also we mentioned before although He was a Robot He one day build both of them a Daughter called Melody. As Family they did a Lot of gaming and movie nights and enjoyed their time. Melody Always got upgraded like she would be ageing. As Dory died Maurice and Melody still honored her and Melody was glad to have such great parents.

Damon from the very beginning was fascinated with Phil. He Met her as He followed a Lone butterfly and found her alone in a garden. Their First conversation was actually a act to cheer Phil Up a Bit. It became a Tradition that they meet in Break time and talked about Damons interest in Humans and Phils Life in Ignihyde. But as Phil told him about her missing wings, Damon got to think of anyway to give her the Feeling of flying Back. With His small kindness and charm both of them Fell in Love soon. However there were complications with the Overblot which Led Phil to fear for Damon but in the end it gladly worked Out. I can actually See Damon for the future become a teacher and Similar to Maurice If phil wanted a child He would build a daughter named Damia. Mostly I can See them be that sunshine Family that is too bright for Others. XD

Slow colleagues comradry. I do believe as They Met They actually didn't get along till They worked together for one class and actually compliment each other accidently. From then on They became Partners in Experiments. Erwin before didn't Care much for animals but Akna also got him Into cats.In the end He feel for her with time how she was quick witted, direct and she was Always fast to Spot what He did wrong with His Experiment so He grown to appreciate her being there for me. For the Future I can see them having a House full of Cats and their son being pretty much a socially inept Genius.

I can imagine they met as Seraphim was Gardening alone again and talking to the plants in His own ancient Language.It probably Made Elysia curious and although Seraphim at first was evasive as always, But He warmed Up to her kindness. She was one of the first people that made him smile. Usually they met up in the Garden drinking Tea talking about Spells and ancient Language. Seraphim Got curious about her and especially because she was similar to him just appeared one day there at NRC.

Elysia would help Seraphim to open up more and become kinder but not fully, He still has His Trust issues. I still Love the children you made for them a lot and I feel for Seraphim having Kids it would finally get him to forget about going Back to His world and more enjoy His live in this world. He won't give Up His daughter easily for Marriage though. So Overall His Relationship with Elysia Makes him more Happy with His Life.

Again with these two Seraphim needs someone Kind to stir him to the right path and interact more with Others. With Nanette Seraphim is more protective and feels worry about him. I can See Nanette bring the sweets and Seraphim bring the Tea to chill. Seraphim probably also learned a bit cooking from him. I feel Like both of them in their own way would Look Out for each other Seraphim that Nanette is not mocked and Nanette that Seraphim gets out and does things. I think Overall Seraphims icy cold Exterior would melt and He finally begins to care about Others. Don't know If He get Conrads approval though.

Marcell x Seraphim

And now for the crackship started yesterday. To summarize it Marcell started doing Poems because of Seraphim and He also Kind of actually is very attached to him. It would be more one sided on Marcells Side and Seraphim mostly also left HSA with Marcell being one of the reasons. Seraphim Just feels Marcell is dangerous, but tries to Humor him so They exchange Poems per Letter and rarely meet. I can See this Relationship more be a Toxic one, because it really would only be Marcells interested and hed have to drasticly has to fight to get Seraphim or He has to do it the Yandere way. But yeah this crush is Canon.

Either ship or Friendship I Imagine this one still very cute. I can imagine Malorie just being weak for both of them and showering them in compliments. She would probably Towards Catrina be more loose and overprotective and towards Laura more calm and trying to cheer her Up.
