I nevER YELLED ABOUT SHORT EGOS, NINE I AM A failure
Anyway.
When u Tol and he smol, a little or a lot.
Pick 'em up and squish em gently in ur arms.
HOW WRITE THIS AS CERTIFIED SHORTASS HELP IT SEEMS SO BAD
Google is strong no matter his size, what with them synthetic muscles and that steel skeleton. Expect about the same thing with him- he's probably a dense motherfucker so it'd be hard to pick him up. Okay, maybe it's hot for the android to rail you while holding you up with one hand-
Dark, as stated beforehand, is a malleable entity. They can be as tall or short as they want, and their aura does not change in regards to this. They expect you to submit on your knees anyway. It doesn't matter how big you are, then.
For Wilford to find someone bigger than he is, man would Heart Eyes Emoji, do you understand- He would want to teach you to do the strong man stuff with him, the maybe take turns pinning each other to the wall, yknow how it be-
Yancy is bottom baby so to have someone bigger than he is? Ohoho. Expect the man to want to be carried around. He is gonna fuckin touch your muscles, even if you don't have that much definition. Call him 'baby boy' in any context an the man is gonna drop to his knees for you.
Heist is gonna use your size to his advantage. Even if you're just an inch taller, he's gonna shove you at the guards and tell you to beat they ass. Of course, you easily hand them their buttcheeks on a plate, but that won't stop you from dragging him into the nearest closet and edging him in recompense. Or maybe he has the upper hand.
Engineer admires you that much more. Captain already has the aura of authority, but now with this physical stature? Instant boner. Switchy risky sex man will bend you over the console but also bend himself over to entice his big, strong captain. He'll also pull a Heist and use you for the big jobs.
Illinois is uh, Illy 🤝 Heist 🤝 Engi: using your larger stature to 'negotiate issues'. Illy is unswayed by anything with you, man is gonna flirt. Flirt back and fluster his ass, then pin him to a boulder. Expect to be the one carrying him over dangerous terrain. Don't worry, his weird luck extends to you too. Yes, he absolutely has to rail you over the altar of the forgotten temple.
Actor... pouts, at first, because he wants to sweep you off your feet. He can, its just easier for you to get out of his arms. Though once you sweep him off his the first time, you will never hear the man complain. He is all over you in public because you are stunning and you are his. And he is yours, considering the bite marks under his collar-
Murdock. This man has that energy no matter what you look like. You will be tied up regularly and stuffed at his leisure. If you're his Accomplice, man will use you for scare potential. Don't get it twisted, though, he's the most dangerous thing in the room. The one who holds the leash, holds the power. ;)))))
These sound like ass but yknow what? No beta we die like men-

A Simple Request - 11/?
Pairing: Jongyu
Rating: Pg
w/c: 1.8k
Other Parts can be found a little ways down this [x]   Ao3  AFF
Summary: The Fae King is under a lot of pressure to conceive an heir, while given a deadline by the Council he turns to his personal guard and best friend to help him with it
Warnings: Future mpreg
Jonghyun is led down twisty alleyways and between homes. The kingdom this late at night is beautiful and quiet, almost like a dream. Faera is never this quiet. With all the different species living within the capital city, there was always music and sound of bustling life even in the dead of night because of those who were nocturnal. He loses his way as he focuses back on Jinki, not that his limited knowledge of the city's layout would help him that much to begin with. Before he knows it, they stop in front of what entirely looks like a dead-end, dark green, and tightly woven vines rising up to where the two buildings on either side of them curve and connect.
The question he’s about to ask is forgotten when Jinki looks over his shoulder and beams, so beautiful and free in a way Jonghyun knows he hasn’t done since he stepped over the border into his homeland. There’s a tug on his hand, and then they’re stepping towards the thick vines at the end of the alleyway. Jonghyun knows he should be concerned, should be worried, but all he feels is safety as Jinki’s grip on his hand tightens. He trusts Jinki, more than anything, so it’s not difficult to put his well-being in the man’s hands and follow him through without resistance. Jonghyun still squeezes his eyes shut as they’re about to hit the wall of vines, only to gasp as tingles travel over him, and a cool mist falls onto his skin. There’s a sound of water splashing and soft twinkles, and when he finally opens his eyes again, they are no longer in the middle of a great city.
There’s a lagoon with a small waterfall trickling into the blue pool. Wisps flutter across the plush, green surface. Some are landing on big pink and red flower petals, while others float to greet them with quiet tinkles and warm impressions. “What is this place?”
“I made it as a child. This used to be an abandoned fletcher shop.” Even with how absurd such a statement was, Jonghyun could do nothing but believe Jinki. He had seen the man do amazing things, impossible things even. He’s seen him walk through dragon’s fire unharmed and create a flourishing forest on ground completely destroyed by the war. Creating this gorgeous grove as a child was the least of it all. “It was after Saferus hatched for me and my parents ordered Master Wixu to take him from me. Master did so against his wishes. I ran away from my manservant and.. Created this.”
           “It’s beautiful.”
“Thank you. It’s nice to be back.” Jinki finally released his hand, slowly stepping further into the grove. Jonghyun finds himself missing the strength and warmth of the man’s hand in his own the moment it slips away. Jinki’s fingers run over the flowers as he passes them, each growing a bit more as he continues by them. Each step a flower popped up as he lifted his foot and Jonghyun fondly grinned. This place was so attuned to Jinki and his magic. It reminded him of all the times he watched Jinki meditate, only for the plant life around them to go from finally groomed and trimmed, to almost wild as his magic ran away from him. “I agree with Saferus, that it was his magic that allowed me to do this.”
“I don’t know,” Jonghyun raised his eyebrows, holding his hands behind his back when Jinki stopped to look back at him. “I’ve seen you do miraculous things. With and without Saferus near.”
“A keeper is only as strong as their connection is to their dragon.” Jinki gave a little smile before continuing on his way. He disappeared around the corner of a large rock surface for a long moment. When he appeared again he was pushing a large wooden chest in front of himself. His smile was wicked as he straightened and put his hands on his hips. “I knew I left these somewhere around here.”
           “These?”
Jinki snapped his fingers and the lock on the chest fell open. When the top was lifted inside blankets and a few throw pillows were visible if only a little old. He picked up the blanket on top, holding it over his loosely crossed arms. “I don’t particularly want to return for a while and I figured comfort would be nice.”
Jinki wasn’t meeting his gaze and before Jonghyun thinks about it completely, he’s crossing the distance between them and resting his hand on the man’s arm. “We can stay here as long as you wish.”
           “Thank you.”
-----
Every so often Jonghyun would feel the grass against his skin as he shifted, brushing across his foot or hand, and each time it was soft and cool. Now though, he’s on his side warmly gazing across at Jinki’s beautiful profile. The man’s eyes are closed, but there’s a peace to his expression as his chest slowly rises and falls with his even breaths. Jonghyun felt at that moment he could spend forever looking at him and never truly get tired of it. Suddenly there’s a smile curling on his lips, amusement in Jinki’s voice as he asks, “Yes, Jonghyun?”
           “I apologize.”
“Don’t need to,” Slowly Jinki turns, left arm coming up to bend under his head, cheek squishing a little as he settles, “Something on your mind?”
“Do you want to talk about it?”
Jinki slowly raised his eyebrows, “Depends on what ‘it’ is.”
“How you feel, you know,” Jonghyun lowered his gaze from the other man’s eyes, biting his bottom lip for a moment. “About being here, what happened at dinner, and all that.”
“Ah, well. I feel a bit abandoned, like the only family I truly have is Saferus.” Jinki’s leg brushed against his as he shifted a bit, but he was still as he spoke again. “To my parents when I chose Saferus I was turning my back on them and my people. That only worsened when I chose to remain in my duties instead of joining them in their fight against Faera and the Fairies. The sentiment is still felt by veterans who fought in that war. I’m not welcome here.
"Over the years they've reached out with letters, bits of gifts, summons home. At first, I was hurt by what was said during the treaty signing and even as those feelings passed, others filled their void." Jinki let out a deep breath, then another, before speaking again. "They never apologized for their words or how they made me feel since I was just a boy. They told a child to choose between this new destiny and their family, and immediately cut ties with me straight after I made what they believed to be the wrong choice. As silly as it is, I thought I would have made my parents proud with all I've done."
“To me, you’re wrong about one thing.”
           “And what’s that?”
He finds Jinki’s right hand resting against the blanket between them and gently grips it. “While I have my sister, you’re the closest person in my life. I’d like to think we’re family by now, Jinki.”
Jinki pulls his hand away, but before the ache of rejection can settle completely in his chest, the man is pushing his fingers into his hair and a kiss is pressed against his forehead. When he speaks his voice is but a whisper, “You’re right.”
Jonghyun finally looks up when Jinki pulls away just a bit, but the hand remains softly intertwined in his hair. He can’t place the expression on the other man’s face, but whatever it is, it makes him feel safe; immensely cared for. Jinki’s eyes are so warm as a smile slowly forms on his lips, and for a moment Jonghyun could see himself falling in love with a man who has a gaze like that. “Your parents might not be proud of you, and sure, there are some elves who believe their leader’s lies, but there are so many people who love you, who have you to thank for them being alive. You saved so many lives. Hell, you’ve saved mine more than I can count. If it’s worth anything, I am proud of you Jinki, always.”
           “It’s worth everything.”
Before Jonghyun knows it, he’s being tugged closer, the back of his head cupped with Jinki’s hand. Immediately he wraps his arm around Jinki’s waist, snuggling closer as if pulled by a string. Jinki rumbles quietly as he shifts to hold him better with both arms, chin on the top of Jonghyun’s head. He knows then he’s never felt as warm or safe as when he’s in Jinki’s embrace, and a part of him doesn’t ever want to leave. When Jinki doesn’t try to pull away, he stays, even as sleep finally tugs at his consciousness and he stops fighting it, letting his eyes close.
-----
Jinki wakes up extra warm with something soft brushing against the tip of his nose. The scent as he breathes in is familiar and even with his still half-asleep mind, he presses closer, breathing it in deeply. With a rumble deep in his throat, he relaxes again. There’s a slight movement against him and instinctively he tightened his hold. It takes a long moment for him to realize what, or rather who, he’s holding, but that just makes a smile pull on his lips as he finally opens his eyes.
He doesn’t remember falling asleep, but from the sun hitting the outside of the vines it’s early morning. There’s a blanket thrown over their intertwined legs. Soon they’d have to head back to prevent a national incident, but that could wait a bit more. Jonghyun was still sleeping and after the past few days, rest was exactly what he needed. If Jinki was honest with himself, he was also a bit selfish. There was something about holding Jonghyun so close that Jinki wanted to cherish. For a few moments, he could pretend he had said those simple words with so much meaning hanging from them, and they had shifted from friends to partners. He knew it could never be, not with their roles and destinies. Even if he ignored all that, there was no way Jonghyun would ever feel the same way about him.
Maybe it was a bit depressing the more he thought about it, cherishing little stolen moments such as this. One day Jonghyun would find someone to love as much as he deserved. Whenever they finally had a child together, he would lose all these little moments, so he’d take what he could. His parents taught him never to refuse one's blessings and he wouldn’t start now. Jonghyun wiggling back into his hold broke his thoughts and all he could do was gently chuckle, affection and fondness bursting into his chest.
Just a few more minutes, that’ll do just fine.

Queasy - 3
Pairing: onkey
Rating: Pg
w/c: about 1.7k
Warning, omegaverse and mpreg and all that ^-^
Find previous parts here [x], AFF   Ao3
Summary: Their trip to visit Kibum's parents was supposed to be all relaxing, but Jinki really hated being queasy.
Kibum twisted the marshmallow stick, making sure the other side was getting toasted as well. Jinki’s head was leaning carefully on his shoulder, snuggling into him in their chair.  “Do you want chocolate on your s’more, Baby?”
Mm, you can have that one.” Jinki’s voice was slightly muffled as he twisted a little to hide his face in Kibum’s sweatshirt. “Nugget is being bad. I think they disagreed with your mom’s chicken.”
“Don’t let her hear that.” Kibum lifted the marshmallow from the flames as he pressed a warm kiss to Jinki’s hair.
Jinki held the two pieces of graham crackers in his left palm, resting on Kibum’s thigh as the man squished the marshmallow against one side. Once the chocolate square was placed and the sandwich was made, Kibum tried to take a bite without making a mess. He failed, crumbs falling from his bottom lip onto his hoodie. He pouted, staring at them tumbling down the fabric as if betrayed. Softly, Jinki brushed them off, small smile half hidden by Kibum’s shoulder. “Mm, your older brother is coming.”
“Oh?” Kibum asked, mouth full of his next bite of s’more.
“Babe!” Jinki laughed, nose scrunched as more crumbs fell.
Kibum gave a big smile without showing his teeth, before swallowing as Kwangsu’s hand fell on his right shoulder. “If you’re done being a complete pig, we’re ready to do the course.”
Brushing his nose against Jinki’s hair, Kibum softly whispered, “Are you still feeling up to doing it, Baby?”
“Yeah,” Jinki perked up, smiling widely. “Can I really?”
“Of course Baby.” He gently kissed Jinki’s skin right before his ear, smile pulling at his lips. “You’re going to do so well.”
“What is he going to do?” Kwangsu chipped in.
“The course.” Kibum answered as they softly began to untangle themselves.
Kwangsu scuffed, “But there aren’t any positions left.”
“There is if someone steps down,” He placed his cup on the table next to their chair and smiled when Jinki grabbed his hand. “Like myself for example. He’s going to take my place as the runner.”
“I can’t allow that.” Jinki’s bright smile quickly fell at Kwangsu’s words. “It’s not fair to the others. We can’t tackle him for the medallion in his condition.”
“In my condition?” Jinki softly asked, “You mean the baby?”
“Yes.” The man hummed, crossing his arms. “That makes the game shifted if we can’t tackle you in order to win.”
“Ah I see.” Jinki stared at him as he crossed his own arms. “It’s cute you think you’d even be able to catch me to need to tackle me.”
            “Excuse me?”
Jinki looked at Kibum for a long moment, not wanting to offend his family anymore, but his mate was just smiling, amused, so he continued. “You don’t want me to play because you’re afraid I might beat you. You couldn’t handle losing to someone you see as less than.”
            “That’s not true-I-”
“Then I guess I’m playing.” Jinki happily said before turning to Kibum, “Will you save me a marshmallow?”
“Of course Baby, Go shift.” After a soft kiss to Kibum’s cheek the man slipped past them to walk inside. He’d change and put his clothes up before coming out shifted.
Kibum’s gaze was taken from Jinki’s retreating form when Kwangsu softly ordered. “You need to get your mate under control.”
“Under control?” He barked a laugh. “He’s not a dog.”
“He shouldn’t speak like that. I am his senior.. The heir to be the leader of our pack.”
“You forget,” He smiled lightly, watching the fire flicker into the air. “When I mated him I officially became apart of his. Even if we did care about that shit, you aren’t our Pack’s Alpha.”
“I will not stand being disrespected like that.”
“Ah, disrespect.” He shook his head slowly before tapping his brother’s forehead with a few of his fingers. Kibum grabbed his blanket and wrapped it around himself tightly. “You gotta get your head out of your ass.”
"We’re gonna hurt him. Don’t you care about that?”
“He knows his limits and I trust him. He won’t do anything that’ll harm himself or our child.” Kibum pressed his lips together for a moment. “Besides, he’s wanted to participate every single time I’ve brought him to visit and you’ve found some reason that he couldn’t. He’s right. This isn’t about the baby. It’s about your pride.”
“Whatever Kibum.” Kwangsu growled quietly before stomping away toward the gathering of Alpha’s and Betas to the left of the course opening. Kibum shrugged before looking toward the house. He rather liked his little mate standing up to his brother.
------
When Jinki came down the steps he jogged over to Kibum, laying his head into his lap, and making happy noises when Kibum ran his hand over his ears. The old, metal medallion that had been hanging over the edge of his seat was gently put over Jinki’s head before Kibum spoke. “You go and kick their ass Baby. I know you can beat my record.”
He licked at his face, and Kibum knew even through his laughter that Jinki was happy. His tongue was hanging out the side of his mouth as he practically pranced over to the starting line. Then with the signal, he was off like a cream streak in the night. Kibum’s grin grew as the two minute mark ticked by and the rest of the shifted wolves dashed after him. He held his cocoa between his hands, lifting it to just before his lips and softly muttering. “Good luck catching him.”
------
“Are you not fearful at all he’ll be hurt, son?”
Kibum slowly shifted his gaze from the exit of the course to his father across the fire. “I’m more fearful of the harm to Kwangsu’s ego more than anything.”
“So you’re sure he won’t be caught?”
He gave his Father a short nod, a smile forming on his lips. “I can barely catch him on a good day. He’ll be fine.”
Both of his parents just hummed, a mix of acceptance and discontent. He rolled his eyes before sipping his drink once again. There was a small part of him that was worried about Jinki, but it wasn’t because he wasn’t completely supportive and trusting in him. He worried about Jinki when he had to walk to work at the Post office in the middle of the busiest part of the city. He worried about him when he missed their lunch time break call for he always managed to make that call no matter what.
He almost wanted to laugh thinking about how he would have reacted to this when he and Jinki first started dating. At twenty one, he had been overconfident with a head full of his pack’s ideals. Jinki had took one look at him, promptly told him that this wasn’t going to work like that, and as he walked away Kibum realized he was falling in love and he needed to change. Jinki was stubborn, witty, and had a problem with authority. He hadn’t taken what he called ‘Alpha bullshit’ then and he hadn’t since. Sure, it had been almost seven years since Kibum had left this place and he knew people changed with age, but he also knew the change for the better in him was mostly because of Jinki. Twenty one year old him would have laughed along with his brother when Jinki suggested participating.
He could feel him getting closer, the sheer rush of excitement and glee through their bond, and it made him feel lighter. He glanced at his phone in the cupholder of the chair, clicking the button on the side to see the time. Ten minutes had passed. Jinki had two and a half left to beat his record. He did laugh a little when he realized he would have been pissed before, but now with the very likely possibility all he felt was a huge amount of pride. “Something funny, Son?”
“Just thinking, Ma.” Kibum grinned at his mother. Then he felt the stirring in his chest and he whipped his head toward the exit of the course once again. A moment later Jinki bound out of the foliage, slowly down to a light jog before shaking, eyes finding him. Kibum stopped the time and beamed from ear to ear as he moved from his seat quickly, kneeling as Jinki came over. He ran his hands over his ears, “You did it. By almost a minute and a half.”
In response Jinki wiggled his ears and yipped quietly, moving to circle him, rubbing against him. Then he moved toward the house, stopping up the few steps to look back. Kibum laughed quietly before rising and following. He could hear the howls of the other wolves coming up behind him, but he didn’t look back as he stepped over the back door threshold and walked toward the guest bedroom. Jinki was already shifted back, medal resting on the bed as he fought to put his sock on while standing.
He squeaked quietly as Kibum wrapped his arm around him, cupping his cheek with the other to kiss him. There was a soft smile on his face, even if his brows were lifted in question. “What was that for?”
             “You’re amazing.”
“Mm,” Jinki tapped a few fingers on Kibum’s chest, looking up through his lashes as he smiled, “Maybe you should react to my awesomeness more often.”
“Quite so.” Kibum nodded seriously before taking Jinki’s head between his hands and pressing light, fast kisses all over his face, causing the man to giggle. He didn’t try to move away though and as Kibum pulled away all he could do is grin.
“If we stay in here much longer, your brother is going to storm in here to see me in my underwear and one sock.”
“And we can’t have that, can we?” Kibum sighed dramatically before placing his hand over the small bump of Jinki’s stomach and kissing his jaw. “I’ll be outside waiting, Baby.”
As he made it to the door, he turned around to see Jinki holding his sweater, smiling, “Can you make me that s’more, now?”
“I’ll have it ready.” He shut the door behind him softly, chuckling with a shake of his head, and heading back out of the house.

Eventide 7/?
Chapter 7 of skyrim au~  Previous parts can be found here [x] can be read on aff and Ao3 as well
Pairing: Jongyu
Rating: pg as of now
w/c:3k
Summary: Jonghyun realizes he’s not ready to say goodbye just yet.
Once the last cork was pushed into the bottles, Jinki carefully moved them to the nearby table for whenever Jonghyun happened to leave. He knew that the man was going to leave eventually for their agreement was complete, but he couldn’t lie to himself. He had thought, hoped, that he’d have more time with him. He pressed his lips together and ran a hand through his hair. Jonghyun could very well wake up in the morning and leave, and Jinki wasn’t sure if he was ready to swallow his feelings for the warrior and watch him go. For the first time since he gave up his last love, he was in love with another. For years he thought he’d never find love again, but he couldn’t doubt the feelings he felt for Jonghyun for what they were.
He loved him. He wanted to know how Jonghyun’s lips felt when they were kissed, or how he liked to hold hands. Did he like intertwining fingers, or just curl around palms? He wanted to know what Jonghyun’s dreams were, his aspirations, his goals. He once again enjoyed traveling and he couldn’t ignore that the only difference from the most recent time and the previous hundred, was Jonghyun being beside him. There was so much of the man he didn’t know and come very soon he’d lose his chance to.
“But I have to let him go.” He muttered to himself, fidgeting with the leftover ingredients laying over his alchemy table. Once they were put away and the area cleaned up, he headed around the separation wall toward the bed. Jonghyun was turned away from him, facing the other side of the bed. Walking past to change his clothes confirmed his suspicions that Jonghyun was already asleep. He pressed his lips together and focused on getting ready for bed. The only thing that could take him from his thoughts was sleep. He sighed heavily as he relaxed against the mattress, snuggling his cheek into his pillow and closing his eyes.
----
Feeling the bed dip, Jonghyun opens one eye to peek. Seeing Jinki’s broad back facing him, he chews on his bottom lip before taking the chance. “Are you okay, Jinki?”
“Holy Julianos!” Jinki curses, startled from his light sleep at the sound of the other man. “I thought you were asleep.”
“Barely. Who’s Julianos?” Jonghyun questioned before adding, “And you didn’t answer my question.”
Jinki hadn’t moved, still curled up with his back toward him. “I’m fine and Julianos is the God logic, wisdom, and the arts of magic.”
“You just… seemed off after I told you I’d leave soon.” He quickly ran his tongue over his dry lips, hesitant to say the last bit. “Like you’re disappointed I’m leaving.”
A few moments ticked by before he heard Jinki sigh softly, “Our agreement is complete. I knew you wouldn’t want to stay here more than you needed to.”
Jonghyun reaches then for Jinki’s side, but his hand falls softly before his fingers touch him. “I was thinking that, maybe, our deal could be extended.”
In a swift motion, Jinki turns over, running his hand over his hair to get it from his face. His cheek is squished slightly by the pillow as he moves his right arm under it. “What do you mean, Jonghyun? Our deal was to bring me here. It’s complete.”
            “What if I propositioned another?”
Jinki’s eyebrow twitched up, “Go on.”
“I’ve been thinking about our travels since Windhelm and I came to the conclusion that I probably couldn’t make my way back even if I had an updated map.” He swallows thickly feeling the nervous lump in his throat and lowers his gaze from Jinki’s. “I was wondering if you’d escort me to Windhelm. I’d ask for further, say back to Whiterun, but I know you must go to Riften.”
“Sounds to me like you just want to travel more with me, Jingles.”
“Shut up,” Jonghyun grumbled before softly smiling, lifting his gaze once more. “Does that mean you’ll escort me?”
With a very exaggerated sigh, Jinki replied, “I wouldn’t want you freezing to death on your way down because you got lost. I’ll take you.”
A smile pulled at his lips, soft around the edges as he gazed at Jinki’s face, so pretty in the still flickering flames of the torch on the wall just above them. All it would take to kiss him would be a little shifting and leaning in, but before he could muster the courage to make that move Jinki was smiling and gently pushing against his chest. “We’ll leave in a few days. I have to discuss a few things with Kibum before we go. Goodnight Jonghyun.”
As the man rolled over once again, Jonghyun kept thinking about the way his lips gently parted when he was finished speaking, the pink of their color and how much he wished he had kissed them. “Goodnight Jinki.”
-----
Jonghyun scratched his tummy as he shuffled out of bed. He grabbed an apple from the shelf on his way from behind the wall and it was just against his lips when he noticed someone was using the Alchemy table. Someone that wasn’t Jinki. “Who the hell are you?”
There was a dark blue robe on the man’s frame. His dark hair was cut shorter, pushed back from his face messily. His ear twitched as he straightened. “I am Kibum, Jinki’s Master Wizard. You must be the stray he’s grown fond of.”
“Oh please play nice Kibum.” Jonghyun’s attention whipped over toward the voice his neck cracked a little. Jinki was kneeling by his garden picking a few things. Once he had what he needed gathering in his arms, he stood up with a smile. “Jonghyun, meet Kibum. Kibum, meet Jonghyun.”
“Mm quite.” Kibum gently shook his hand, eyebrow raised.
“Are most of the mages here elves?”
Jinki snorted at the question, while Kibum flicked his gaze between the two. “No. Many elves stay here over other races because they feel safer here.”
“Interesting,” Jonghyun commented, biting into his apple finally and chewing. “What’s he doing here?”
“He’s helping me get ready for Mzulft.” Jinki laid the plants on the table for Kibum to look through. “We really have no idea what’s awaiting me. Especially if something has happened to my mages I sent. They were two of my best.”
“Aren’t you afraid to go there alone?” Jonghyun softly asks, leaning against the shelf near the two mages.
Jinki shrugged as he picked the petals off a few purple mountain flowers. Then he smirked, “Are you worried about me, Jingles?”
“No!” Jonghyun scuffed, but his expression fell as he pouted. “Okay maybe. You’re soft.”
“It makes me quicker.” He placed the petals into the mortar for Kibum to grind as he looked at Jonghyun with a sweet smile. “I’ll be fine. You know I can handle myself quite well.”
            “I don’t-”
“You two are insufferable, honestly.” Kibum huffed, the pestle clacking against the stone of the mortar. “Don’t you have something else you could be doing?”
“Someone has their skirt in a twist.” Jonghyun scowled before smiling at Jinki. “Can we go exploring?”
            “Exploring?”
“Yeah! I’ve never been to Winterhold. You could show me the town. Maybe there’s a shop I can buy a few things I need at.”
“Alright,” Jinki ignored the look Kibum was giving him the best he could. “Go get dressed. We’ll stop by the storage room and see if there’s anything you need in there before you buy it.”
-----
“Do you ever get tired of all the snow?”
When Jinki glanced over his hood fell from the top of his head. “You get used to it. I quite enjoy it over the scorching heat you feel in the middle of Skyrim.”
“It is far prettier than the rolling plains I remember growing up on.” A snowflake landed on his nose and he sneezed violently. Jinki erupting in laughter made him glare and elbow him in the side as the made their way toward the shop to their right.
As they approached the shop Jinki stopped on what could be called the porch. “You should go in alone. I’ll be waiting out here.”
            “You’re being weird again.”
“Aren’t I always?” Jinki flashed a soft smile as he lifted his hands to warm them up with his breath. “Go on. I’ll be right here for the walk back.”
Jonghyun squinted at him before stepping through the door. Jinki leaned against the wood of the place and produced a small flame in his palms to keep them warm. His eyes shifted across the white pillowy expanse of what was left of Winterhold. There were a few guards shuffling about and that weird man who tried to sell everyone chickens he didn’t have, but otherwise, there wasn’t anything of interest or excitement.
That was until the roar blew through the small town and the ground beneath him trembled. He stepped from under the cover of the shop, fire already increasing on his hands, swirling up his wrists and between both of his hands. Sure enough near the entrance of town was a dragon. Guards were quick to pull their bows, but the arrows didn’t seem to do much damage. A fireball was shot at it’s head, which only seemed to anger the beast more.
He was summoning a frost atronach when he heard Jonghyun exclaiming from behind him. “What did you blow up this time?”
            “Go back inside, Jonghyun.”
Completely ignoring the order, the man stepped toward him. It was then he looked where the commotion was. “Whoa, what the fuck that’s a dragon!”
“Go back inside! You don’t have your armor on.” Jonghyun’s jaw clenched as he stared him down, about to disagree, but then he was being tackled against the ground as the dragon spewed his ice breath straight at them. Jinki lifted his head to look at him, huffing a little. “Please go back inside. I can’t focus on the dragon worrying about you.”
If the circumstances weren’t literally life or death, Jonghyun might have taken the opportunity to press up and kiss him. Given that they were in fact in the middle of a dragon attack, he decided to just nod in agreement. “Alright. Don’t get yourself hurt.”
“Don’t you worry your pretty little head.” Jinki pushed off and spun, shooting fire dead center at the dragon. He looked over as he held up a ward to stop the ice from hitting him. He yelled over the rushing sound of the ice breath. “Go!”
He pressed his lips together into a thin line and looked at him fighting the dragon before ripping the image from his line of sight and rushing back into the shop. He pressed his back against the wall and squeezed his eyes shut. There were very few times in his life he felt as helpless as he did then.
-----
As silence fell Jonghyun felt as if he could breathe again. He was just about to look outside when the door opened. Standing there was Jinki. He had a scrape along his cheek and his hair was in disarray, but he was okay. Before he could say anything Jonghyun was crashing into him, wrapping his arms tight around him. “I’m so glad you’re okay.”
“I-” Jinki’s arms were held hesitantly away from him before he relaxed and returned the embrace. “I’m fine, Jingles. Just a little tired.”
He pulled away, pink dusting his cheeks, as he took a step back. He lifted his hand to gently touch the slightly bleeding cut on his cheek. “How’d you get this?”
“A stray arrow.” Jonghyun eyes widened, causing Jinki to chuckle. “The dragon moved before the guard could stop the shot. I’m fine. Did you get what you needed?”
            “I did.”
“Then, do you mind we cut the exploring short?”
            “Not at all.”
-----
Kibum sighed deeply as he spotted the two men stepping through the big archway into the room. “What mess could you get into going to the store?”
Jinki gave a goofy grin, “A dragon attacked. I fought it.”
The Master Wizard shook his head, before pointing toward the nearby table. “Sit. Jonghyun, go get him something to eat.”
Jonghyun glanced over to Jinki and only moved when the man smiled. “It’s really not that serious.”
“Uh huh. I’ll be the final say in that.” Golden light circled his hand as he lifted it to Jinki’s cheek.
            “I could have healed myself.”
“You could have.” Jonghyun stepped closer, holding some bread in his hand and a glass of water in the other. Kibum smiled kindly as he lowered his hand. “You sit here and rest. Eat that.”
            “I have that meeting with-”
“Not anymore.” Kibum stepped back and wiped his hands on his robe. He glanced at Jonghyun, “Think you can keep him from doing too much?”
            “I can try.”
            “Good. I’ll be back.”
As Kibum left Jonghyun shared a look with Jinki, gesturing to the now empty archway. “Is he always like that?”
            “Always has been.”
After slipping into the chair across the small table from him, Jonghyun softly commented as he played with the end of the cloak Jinki let him borrow. “He seems to really care about you.”
“He’s a really good friend.” Jinki nibbled on his bits of bread that he had pulled off, studying Jonghyun softly. “Are you okay?”
            “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“I tackled you pretty hard. I could have bruised you.” He hummed before continuing, “Besides, I mainly meant emotionally. You distant mentally since I made you go back into the shop.”
“Oh, I’m fine.” He flashed a little smile, arms held loose around himself. “It was odd being out of the fight like that. I felt helpless.”
“I, for one, am glad you listened to me.”
            “Oh yeah?”
“Yeah.” Jinki laughed quietly, tapping his fingers on the table gently as he grew solemn. “I couldn’t fathom going to find your mother and telling her you died protecting the highest ranking mage in Skyrim.”
“But I did listen. Now eat and maybe you can teach me how to use that weird grinding bowl thing.”
            “Do you mean the mortar?”
“Mortar? What kind of bullshit name is that?”
Jinki barely coughed himself out of choking on his water from laughing too hard.
-----
The next morning everything was settled and it was time to leave. Kibum was going over a few last minute things that needed Jinki’s absolute attention, which Jonghyun managed to drown out mostly from his spot sprawled out on the bed. His armor was fully on him and he wasn’t about to stand around with it on more than he had to. He pressed his head back to look behind him when he heard Jinki speaking. “Are you ready, Jingles?”
            “I’ve been waiting on you!”
“For once.” Jinki already had his extra furs along his shoulders, the thick cloak underneath it all. His hands were hidden in the big sleeves of his robe. “Come on. I want to make good time.”
After heaving himself off the mattress, Jonghyun pouted, following him out from behind the wall. “Now it just sounds like you wanna get rid of me.”
It was then he noticed Kibum standing in the middle of the room. “I doubt it’d be that easy.”
“Kibum.” Jinki softly warned causing the other mage to simply smile.
“Be safe. Whatever awaits you in Mzulft I would rather like my Archmage returning.” Kibum clasped him on the shoulder softly before stepping away. He then glanced at Jonghyun stepping in tow. “In the short time you are with him still make sure he doesn’t get into trouble.”
“I’m not the one who removed the glowing sword.” Jinki softly commented, a smile hidden by the hood he had pulled over his hair.
            “That was ONE time.”
-----
The blizzard was finally letting up as the approached the mill. Their pace was leisurely, snow billowing around their feet as they kicked it with their steps. “I’ve been thinking.”
Jinki was heating his face up with his hands when Jonghyun spoke and he didn’t lower them when he responded, causing his voice to be slightly muffled. “That never leads to good things.”
“Oh, shut up.” Jonghyun tightened his furs around his body as he stared off into the horizon, Windhelm starting to come into view. “There’s a town just south of the city. I thought maybe we could stay there for the night.”
“Why? I thought you liked Windhelm.”
“Parts of it sure. The blacksmith is one of the best in all of Skyrim.” Jonghyun took a glance at Jinki then, quickly reverting his gaze when he realized the mage was looking at him. “Windhelm isn’t a safe place for you. Kynesgrove is close enough that it won’t take us to pass nightfall, but far enough… maybe you’ll feel safer.”
“Thank you, Jonghyun.” The warmth in Jinki’s voice could almost take the fridge cold from his bones. “For thinking about me.”
“You respected my fear of mages when in Winterhold. It’s only right I respect yours of Windhelm and the hatred within those walls.”
Playfully Jinki nudged Jonghyun’s arm with his elbow, “Maybe I can even teach you how to swim.”
            “You’d want to?”
“Everyone should know how to swim, Jonghyun.” Jinki hummed, “Why don’t you know how to?”
“Oh, um, my dad was supposed to teach me that summer, but…”
            “Oh, understood.”
“I’d really appreciate it if you would teach me though.”
After a few paces, Jinki teased him, “I promise to not let the demon water get you.”
            “Oh do shut up!”
