For the weird writing ask game :
19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?
21. Could you ever quit writing? Do you ever wish you could? Why or why not?
22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud?
Alrighty, you had to pick questions that required thought didn't you cat 😂
19. I started writing fic when I was like...12? 13? Me and my friend got into RPF and we'd write fic for each other and then gush over the people we were writing about. I remember her handwriting fic and giving it to me in an envelope in school and I'd have to wait until break to tear into it lmao. I'm sure I still have some of them somewhere actually...But then the obsession faded and the fic writing dropped away and I didn't pick it up again until I was 21. I read a lot of fic in between but didn't think I was any good at actually writing it, but then I was tryna get to sleep one night and a harry potter fic popped into my head and just would not leave me alone until I wrote the damn thing down. That was it though, until a few months later when I joined an amazing quiobi server and was tempted into writing for a prompt challenge they held, and voila! Here I am 2 years and 108 fics later! I wouldn't say I'm going anywhere with my writing except that I want to keep improving from where I started, and I just enjoy it so much (despite writer's block and the agonising over doing the actual, y'know, writing) and how it can be such a personal form of expression that I've never really had access to before. And I'll be forever glad I was tempted back into it because of the friends I've made along the way that are incredible people and have given me so much support
21. I want to say yes to this cos I don't need to write—like I know some people absolutely have to write to clear the clutter from their brain and that's so valid but it's not like that for me—but then I get stories or pieces of dialogue or introspection barreling its way into my head that won't leave me alone until I get it onto paper. So no, I don't think I could quit writing, and I'll never wish that I could so long as I enjoy it
22. Not. At. All. It's a chaotic mess, there is no rhyme or reason to when, where or what I write. I write on google docs and kinda use it as a conveyor belt kinda thing. So all my prompts and wips and random bits of dialogue or story ideas go in there and then when they're finished I download the finished fics to my laptop and then delete them from my google drive. It's very satisfying, like crossing something off a to-do list

Hello lils! For the writer ask game : has a comment someone left on a fic of yours ever made you laugh out loud?
CAAAT! Very good question but I’d have to say your comments 😂 I love your outrage in my inbox when I’m mean to the boys, it’s addictive

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: The Sandman (TV 2022) Rating: Mature Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Dream of the Endless | Morpheus/Hob Gadling Characters: Dream of the Endless | Morpheus, Hob Gadling Additional Tags: Post Episode: s01e06 The Sound of Her Wings, Friends to Lovers, Hob demands compensation for Dream being 30 years late, Dream graciously obliges Summary:
In hindsight, pressing the King of Dreams, an endlessly immortal being of unfathomable power, against the wall of The New Inn is probably not one of Hob’s best ideas.

Hey Tumblr, can we have a talk real quick?
So this blog was the first on the list of recommendations for me today:
Tumblr media
And if you couldn't tell by the url and the description, he's in fact pretty strongly Conservative. And of course posts stuff such as tge following:
Tumblr media
As well as
Tumblr media
Of course if you follow my blog you can probably tell that I'm more Liberal leaning. Personally I consider myself center left, sometimes I reblog things that are a bit further left because they make a point more effectively than I do.
Now honestly, I really don't care if someone is Conservative so long as they aren't being aggressive and xenophobic. Everyone is entitled to their political opinion and if it's non-violent and not trying to take away anyone else's rights (For example: Personally not wanting an abortion but still being pro-choice, perfectly reasonable. Think of it like that.) then I won't argue.
The only real exception I have to this is Trump supporters. Mostly because the only ways one could support Trump at this point is by ignoring literally every word out of his mouth, or by openly declaring either their bigotry or just flat out refusal to hear out anyone in the center or on the left.
But you know what really gets me? This guy doesn't pass that test. First of all he takes a post about child trafficking and then blames Obama. Why does he blame it on Obama? Because he's blaming Muslims. Seriously, he doesn't even say radicalized Muslims just Muslims in general.
Also another thing to add about this guy: He's a Trump supporter.
Tumblr media
And yes he believes the news shouldn't be talking about Trump.
Now given the facts that I:
a) Am not interested in following a hard Conservative blog
And
b) Hate Trump
Why did you think this was a good recommendation for me?
Also
Before anyone looks at this guy's blog and starts calling me a liar or saying I'm not giving the full picture, let me just say a few things:
1) The guy is not currently posting anything politically related. From what I can gather from his blog, his daughter is diabetic. My heart goes out to her and this post is more about the Tumblr algorithm and not him or his daughter as a person. Obviously I heavily disagree with him, but my point is that he shouldn't be in my recommendations.
2) I did have to scroll for a while to find anything political. This is again mostly because he's been posting often about his daughter lately and because, like the rest of us, he's been mocking the Tumblr algorithm.
2)b) This may seem dishonest, like I was intentionally trying to be offended, but I do have some valid reasons for doing that. The first being that I heard of Jewish people being recommended white supremacists' blogs (Keep in mind I'm not accusing this guy of being a white supremacist and I don't have any evidence that he is) and wanted to see for myself if they were making wierd recommendations for me. The second being that I wanted to confirm his political beliefs before posting since only posting the username feels dishonest, and at that point for all I knew his blog was only about his daughter.
So I decided to scroll until I found out for sure.
Tl;dr
Tumblr is recommending people blogs that are basically the exact opposite of their political opinion. I'm not trying to attack the guy they reccomend me however I'm using him as an example of how bad the algorithm has gotten.
