#Repost @ashleyogi_123 (@get_repost) ・・・ Day 5 of #AprilYogaFlow is Urdhva Mukha Svanasana, Upward Facing Dog🐶🖤🙏 Several options today so listen to your body when choosing which is right for you! From Chataranga, scoop your chest forward and up towards the front of the room coming onto the tops of your feet. Engage through your quads keeping only your feet and hands touching your mat. If this is tough on your body, you can take Cobra pose by placing the tops of your thighs onto the mat. If this is too much on your low back, take a Baby Cobra option: from the floor, place your hands under your shoulders, squeeze the shoulder blades back and down as you lift your chest up, keeping little to no weight in the hands. This is a great stretch for the front of the body so take your time, play around with different options, and enjoy your time on your mat! From hands and knees: Engage your core, spread your fingers, curl your toes under, and lift your hips up towards the ceiling as you press through your hands. Keep your spine long and shoulders away from your ears. If it helps to keep your back flat and tailbone pointed up to the ceiling, then try a slight bend in your knees as you press your heels down towards your mat. And finally - don't forget to breathe and listen to your body! If hands and knees feels better on your body, then start there! ... I look forward to seeing your posts!
