🏡 HOUSEWIVES OF WHITEHAVEN 🏠🌳

i guess i’ll make this a thing now, since a couple of people expressed their interest in my suburban housewife characters. me and my friends initially started this universe in 2020 after roleplaying as facebook moms in our discord server. after the characters became more concrete and we started developing lore around them, i decided that it’d be good to turn the girls into sims of their own.

note that this render and most other character renders you’ll see in upcoming posts were all made in 2020, so they might be dated and not represent the characters accurately anymore, but for the most part they do.

housewives of whitehaven serves as a parody of contemporary white, american, middle-class, suburban stereotypes while also taking inspiration from early 2000s soap operas like desperate housewives. it’s meant to portray the social life of a housewife as a game of strategy, manipulation, sabotage, theft and gossip.

whitehaven currently has three main resident households:

the graham family

the reynolds family

the may-baker family

after a hiatus in 2021, me and @houseofabsurdities have recently decided to pick it back up and possibly expand upon it with new characters which is why i asked for input from y’all. but yes, posts with more detailed character descriptions should follow shortly, i hope.

the average whitehaven housewife dedicates a lot of her time to ensure a friction-free family life. carol on the other hand is a time management enigma, capable of following her housewife duties like cleaning the home, making breakfast, attending her yoga class and having an affair with her tennis coach, all before the clock strikes 10:00 am.

carol combines the charm of a 60s cartoon mom with aesthetic influences from the 70s and 80s, making for a delightful complete package that is hard not to fall in love with, and people do. many neighbors are in awe with how effortless and picturesque the life of the reynolds seems to be, from cozy backyard barbecues to trips to the nearest disneyland, but this barbie dreamhouse has its cracks...

mark is a retired soldier who now works in law enforcement, arresting the common man for petty crime. but outside of work he is known as the sexiest stallion of the neighborhood and reigning king of the grill, but what most people, including carol, don’t know is that he is also having an affair with his wife’s dear friend peggy.

hunter and susie are as stereotypical as the day is bright. while hunter’s only personality trait is playing soccer and being good at it, susie is daddy’s little spoiled princess, perfectly aware of how to manipulate her parents into getting whatever she wants whenever she wants it.

a thriving marriage is the key ingredient to a strong and stable family, so it comes to no surprise that the whitehaven housewife puts a lot of effort into nurturing her relationship to her significant other. many say that getting married is like planting a rose bush in your backyard, in which case only some people are capable of tending to said rose bush and helping it bloom and flourish, even if they inevitably get pricked by the thorns in the process. but not everyone is successful at that, in fact, many a housewife enjoys a bouquet of fresh-cut flowers from the store to distract herself from her dying rose bush wilting away in her backyard...

the grahams have been going through a period of romantic stagnation ever since harold became more involved his place of work. even though he has never been good at prioritizing his wife over his job, now more than ever is he ignoring peggy’s emotional needs in favor of his obsession with work, wealth, politics and the stock market. despite enjoying the many benefits of a hard-working, high-earning husband, peggy remains a romantic to her core, fueled by hours of binge-watching romcoms and reading romance novels with her book club. she loves cheesy dinner dates and visits to the movie theater and feels as though her husband has given up on romance altogether. luckily enough, she has found a “temporary” solution in carol’s husband, mark.

mark is traditional, rule-abiding and responsible, some would even dare to call him a stickler. his wife carol on the other hand has reached what appears to be a midlife crisis, suddenly feeling as though her time of being irresponsible and free-spirited has been cut short. she wishes to take more risks in life, to act stupid and reckless at times and even experiment in the bedroom a little more, which are demands that mark has a hard time keeping up with, being the strict, vanilla husband that he is. in order to satisfy her urges somehow, carol has been having an affair with her tennis coach dave, who not only feeds her sexual urges but also a thrill-seeking nature of hers.

dissatisfied with their partners and experiencing an increasing conflict of interest, peggy, mark and carol have been secretly cheating on their significant others in order to fill a void left by what seems to be a dried up, wilted rose bush in their backyards.

How would your oc act when drunk? What about when really, really tired?

both peggy and amanda handle their booze quite well and can keep their cool especially during public functions. if it's just the three of them, the both of them may get a little feisty and argumentative with one another. carol is a hot fucking mess when drunk, regardless of the situation. she tends to be a liability to the other two and just generally becomes very ditzy and inept.

in regards to being really tired, peggy just gets drowsy and probably goes to take a nap while carol is notably more hyper. amanda just gets snarky and goes for the coffee machine if not heading to bed.

90. Does your oc have any objects they could never give up? Why is it so important to them? Do they have any family heirlooms?

i think all three girls have certain valuable items inside their homes, like expensive appliances or art, but i don't think any of them really have a family heirloom they treasure. amanda's home is technically an heirloom, since she and her husband frank inherited it from a relative, but other than that... i guess she treasures the coffee machine and peggy loves her air fryer.

carol on the other hand collects vintage memorabilia from like the 60s and 70s, which she would also have issues parting with.

OMG SO LIKE is peggy going to get exposed for messing around with carol's husband mark eventually?? or does it go on for god knows 🧍🏿‍♀️and side note i feel like at least one of the ladies run a book club with the charcuterie boards and all the works 😔✊🏿

i think it should be going on for quite a bit, especially because carol is having an affair of her own. i even imagined killing off mark in some sort of potential season 2 finale scenario so that arc would come to an end for both peggy and carol, but idk if that'd be a satisfying conclusion.

also i don't see any of the girls as much of a reader type, but since peggy loves being in on everything, i can see her joining the book club. me and my friends do have an "infinity scarf-wearing, bible-reading, god-honouring, silent-but-deadly"-type of housewife side-character amongst our concepts, so maybe i'll hand the book club leadership role to her.
