🌸Weekend Handwork with Passion & Time 🌸 This was one of the sewing 🧵 🪡 project that haven planed out the design several years ago ever since got the dress with long story if you remember in my post many moons ago. The point is I was happily spending time and money invested on Rare Antique pieces and ready to preserve. This 1920 hand-embroidered dress was added with 1910 handmade lace so I should do stitching by hand more than machine. It took me the whole weekend. Firstly, embroidery the pink silk tiny ribbon through the antique lace and then fold up the hemlines equivalent to the lace border to secure. Following by hand sew 🪡 with tiny back stitches which is my favorite technique and easiest to do on the lace. Nevertheless, all treads using were 1930 cotton. Dear All Vintage Community Friends, Today Subject is about How do we know the different between Antique, Vintage and Retro pieces. As happiness for each of us is different while my is looking, reading, collecting, rescue the oldies ,which I have said earlier about my experience in the vintage world that I was raise up in the Antique & Vintage Environment and I am in love with them myself. So I have spent a lot of time doing research on the web, books and going to the museum through my teenage years. My favorite places to hang out with school friends were Art Museum, which some of them at first asking me why do I like looking at the old things for more than hours while some of them feeling bored. My answer was it is my passion and I feel very happy looking and get more story of those oldies just like I have went back to that period. To new vintage collectors, if you are in doubt about anything about Antique, Vintage and Retro pieces the best way is to read the History of Fashion and find out the fact by yourself. Either buy them or going out to the vintage and antique shop see it with yourself. My personal experience is learning by self research while buying and grow my collection for more than 20 years.
