How to join Slackru:
Hello! We don’t use this blog very much anymore, so we wanted to update it with some information on where you can find the Admin Team to ask to join as well as our (very short, very casual) vetting process.
Before asking to join Slackru, please read our Welcome Document. It has our (very few) rules and regulations, as well as who is on the Admin team - or as I like to call them, the best damn modsquad. Unlike tumblr and twitter and other forms of social media, this Slack is a moderated fan experience. While we welcome all fans, old and new, this is a safe space, which means by its nature we may have to exclude some people for behavior outside of the Slack itself. We hold the members of Slackru to a certain behavioral standard - we do not tolerate misogyny, homophobia, racism, or ableism. If you have an issue with another member of the Kru, we expect that you will communicate any issues to the person directly and effectively, and ask for a moderator if needed. We are a family. No subtweeting or vagueblogging at each other. We hope that as a Kru we make a cognizant choice to not engage in the kinds of behaviors that create division, drama, and toxic environments - our choice is unity through communication, maturity, and cooperation like Kane and Abby would want for us.
Down below are the bios of our amazing modsquad. If you’re new, here’s your chance to get to know us a bit! Don’t hesitate to reach out to us here, on Twitter, or tumblr.
ofhouseadama: Emily (A) is a co-owner and one of the head admins of the KabbyFam Slack. She loves baby theory, wild semi-baseless speculation, and applying her political theory and history background to the world of The 100. Currently living in Brooklyn and working in event operations, she drinks a lot of hipster coffee and can usually be found setting up shop in a Starbucks somewhere in the city. Always lurking.
fandammit: Lelanie is a co-owner and one of the head admins of the KabbyFam Slack. She enjoys fluff, writing about delinquent shenanigans and all things Jackson/Sachin Sahel. When she's not hanging around Slack, you can find her playing video games with her husband, cuddling with her pupper, or writing articles about how much she loves comic book movies.
shefollowedfires: Emily (T) is one of the head admins of the KabbyFam Slack. She's the nicest pathological sadist you’ll ever meet, slaying one and all with her random attacks of The Feels™. Paige Turco is the light of her retail-driven life in Ottawa - soon to be Vancouver, as she hopes to find actual work in the film/TV industry (maybe one day even The 100 itself!). She loves you; and she's sorry in advance.
missninjacookie: Melli is one of the admins of the KabbyFam Slack (which she has considered her online homebase ever since she joined). This confirmed introvert and wannabe digital artist thrives on chocolate, feels and late afternoon sunshine; her weapons of choice are Procreate and Photoshop. In an ideal world she would be living in Vancouver, aka the city that owns her heart forever, but for now her constantly caffeinated body resides in Germany and works at a digital agency. When all else fails, she retreats to her aerial yoga hammock to hang out upside down and dream about Paige Turco and/or being a ninja.
abbygkane: Lore is one of the admins of the Kabbyfam Slack. She's a history teacher trying to educate young people about the importance of studying the past and how it affects the present. When she's not on Slack she's either writing Kabby fic (did someone say smut with a dash of feelings?!), reading Kabby fic, running (some might say away for her problems and failing at it) or travelling.
abbykomskaikru: Emily (H) is one of the admins of the KabbyFam Slack. Feel free to refer to her as "Medium Emily." As a journalism and English student, a freelance sports writer and a digital producer at a news station, it stands to reason that she loves writing; at any given moment, she will likely be chipping away at her mountain of Kabby WIPs. She has taken up permanent residence on this Slack, but when she's away she enjoys lifting weights, running, riding her motorcycle and listening to alternative bands.
flyinvisible: Fly is one of the admins of the KabbyFam Slack. She loves nothing more than angst, tries her best at creating graphics and generally has strong Kabby opinions that she attempts to not let out too often. When she isn’t screaming at photoshop, she’s work on finishing her Bachelors of Sign Languages in Germany. She is either always awake or always asleep but nobody will ever detect a pattern. You can also find her 24/7 on Twitter which has basically become her social life.
We recently passed 100 members are excited to welcome more people into our family!

Is starting your own business on the list of goals you set out for yourself for 2017? If you have not yet made your mind up on what that business is going to be, I am here to make a case for why you should consider starting a home-based travel business. Of course, this is not for the overly ambitious entrepreneur that has a grand plan to raise millions of dollars in funding to try his hand at creating the next multi-billion dollar empire. This is more for those that would like to start something on a smaller scale, with flexible hours, small start up cost, while still having the potential of generating a decent full-time or part-time income. If you fit that description, here are 7 Good Reasons You Should Start A HomeBased Travel Business.
