A Merry Crazy Christmas
for @raincloudtoyoursunshine. Merry Pitchmas!
shoutout to @scylla-ramshorn for the idea :)
*
“Bedtime, guys!”
“Noooooo,” Logan whines, dramatically face planting on the floor of the playroom. “I wanna stay up ‘til Chwistmas!”
Beca rolls her eyes, having expected as much. “Come on Finn, go brush your teeth.”
Her son nods without objection, shuffling past his mom to head to the bathroom.
“Logan Jade,” Beca tries the stern voice and full name, even though she’s not really the authoritarian mom; Chloe is, and their youngest knows that perfectly well, and she likes to take advantage of it every time. “I’ve got Santa’s phone number, remember? He won’t be happy to hear you’re not listening to me.”
Beca’s lost count of how many times she’s threatened to text Santa over the last few weeks. It proved pretty efficient to counter toddler tantrums.
Logan grumbles in a very Beca way (it’s sort of scary sometimes, how much she acts like her) but pushes to her feet, dramatically dragging them on her way to the bathroom.
Beca waddles after them, one hand supporting her lower back while the other rubs her large belly.
She’s three days away from her due date, and she’s miserable. Everything aches, her feet and ankles are swollen, and she needs to pee every five minutes.
Once both kids have washed up, she reads them a bedtime story of Logan’s choice before tucking them in.
“M’gonna stay awake,” Logan mumbles as Beca tucks the covers around her, even though her lids are steadily drooping.
Beca smirks knowingly. “Sure you are.” She bends down to kiss the tip of her nose. “Goodnight, baby.”
She heads to the master next, closing the door behind her. “Kinda wish we could use the Santa card all year long,” she says as she leans against the surface for a moment.
Chloe chuckles from her spot on the floor, surrounded by a dozen unwrapped presents. “Let me guess, Logan?”
Beca hums and lowers herself on the bed, eyeing the already wrapped pile. “Our kids are spoiled.”
Chloe grimaces as she looks around as well. “Yeah, we might have gone overboard.” She glances at Beca. “How you feeling?”
A groan flits through Beca’s lips. “So done with this pregnancy. That baby better be cute.”
Chloe laughs, pushing to her feet and making her way over. Christmas is only the day after tomorrow, so present-wrapping thankfully doesn’t have to be finished tonight. She sits down next to her wife, kissing her covered shoulder as her head comes to rest over her belly. “A few more days at most.”
“I know,” Beca sighs, covering Chloe’s hand with her own. “Strong chances this baby is a Logan 2.0, you know that, right?”
Chloe’s pregnancy with Finn was difficult, and the doctor advised against her carrying again, so when they decided to have a third baby, it was a no brainer that Beca would be the one to get pregnant.
Chloe simply smiles. “I love that she’s so much like you. I know she’s going to grow up to be a determined, badass and loyal human being like her mama.”
Beca rolls her eyes at her wife’s cheesiness. “The teenage years coming before that might be the death of us.” She groans again, tilting her head back. “And I need to pee. Again.”
Chloe pushes to her feet and gives her a boost up. “Call me if you need help up the toilet seat.”
Beca’s response is a huff as she slowly waddles to the bathroom. She thankfully manages to do everything on her own, and slides into bed when she makes it back, falling asleep to Chloe wrapping more presents.
The creaking of the bedroom door as it’s pushed open the next morning draws her out of her slumber. She cracks one eye open to see her two kids tip-toeing inside, hair disheveled from sleep.
“No baby yet,” their youngest, Logan, whispers to her older brother Finn. “Maybe he’s waiting ‘til Chwistmas morning!”
“Maybe,” Finn whispers back. “I don’t think the baby knows when Christmas morning is, though.”
“I tell,” Logan states decidedly, walking over.
Beca’s lying on her side with a pillow wedged between her thighs and another behind her back, the only position she’s able to fall asleep in. Chloe’s somewhere behind her, but cuddling has been off limits for the past month as Beca gets as hot as a freaking furnace during the night.
While Finn climbs onto the mattress, Logan comes to stop in front of Beca.
“Whatcha doing, Munchkin?” Beca mumbles sleepily as Logan presses her ear to her large bump.
“I listen to the baby,” she murmurs, eyebrows stitched together in focus. “Why’s it late, Mama?”
“I guess they like where he is now. Warm and comfortable. You two were late, too.”
“But the baby can’t miss Christmas,” Logan points out with a heavy frown.
Beca chuckles, reaching out to smooth her hand over her hair. “There’s always next Christmas.”
“Where’s Mommy?” Finn asks after a beat.
Because of the mountain of pillows, Beca didn’t notice her wife wasn’t in bed anymore.
“Probably downstairs making breakfast,” she answers. “Wanna go see if she needs help?”
Both kids nod and Logan follows her brother out and down the stairs while Beca spends a few seconds struggling to sit up.
“Mama!” Finn’s shout makes her freeze on her way to the bathroom. He appears in the doorway a handful of seconds later, worry flashing in his features. “Mommy fell!”
Beca blinks. “What do you mean she fell? Where’s she??”
“Outside, she says she can’t get up!”
“What?” Ignoring her bladder about to burst, Beca makes her way downstairs as quickly as possible given her state and follows Finn to the open front door. She gasps upon finding Chloe sprawled out on her back in the snow covered driveway, a shovel laying next to her. “Baby, what happened??”
Chloe groans. “Don’t come out here, it’s slippery.” She huffs. “I think I threw my back out.”
“Oh no.” Beca grimaces, eyeing the state of the driveway and debating whether it’s safe for her to go help Chloe. With the giant watermelon weighing her down, she’s got more chance of face planting than successfully dragging Chloe up. “Hold on tight, babe, I’ll call one of the neighbors.”
“It’s okay, Mommy!” Logan calls out sweetly before Beca ushers them inside so they don’t catch a cold as they’re only wearing their pajamas and it’s freaking freezing.
She grabs her phone and makes a few calls, eventually managing to get a hold of their across the street neighbor, a dude about their age. He comes over right away and helps Chloe up, supporting her weight as they walk inside the house and towards the couch.
“Thanks, Brad,” Chloe mutters with a wince as she sits down.
“No problem. I’ll shovel the rest of the driveway for ya.”
“I cuddle you better, Mommy,” Logan says, climbing on the couch and snuggling into Chloe’s side while Beca heats up a pad in the kitchen.
“Mm, thanks baby.”
“Here,” Beca says when she comes back, handing her the pad.
“I wanted the driveway to be cleared in case we needed to go to the hospital,” Chloe mumbles, grimacing as she shifts to set the pad on her lower back. “Shit, I’m old.”
Logan gasps. “Bad word, Mommy.”
“Mm I know, I’m sorry Pumpkin. I’ll put a dollar in the jar later.” She glances up at Beca, worrying her bottom lip between her teeth. “I should call Jenny to let her know we might need her to drive you if the baby comes today.”
Jenny’s Chloe’s closest colleague and friend in town. The Bellas are all scattered around the country, the closest being Aubrey in Boston.
“She’s probably swamped with Christmas Eve dinner with her parents coming over and all,” Beca points out. “Besides, I really don’t think the baby’s coming today.”
Chloe seems to internally debate Beca’s objection for a moment. “Fine. But I’m calling her the minute you have a contraction.”
“Alright,” Beca concedes. “You’ll probably be more comfortable in bed. Think you can climb up the stairs?”
Chloe nods. “Yeah, let’s give it a try.”
Once upstairs, she helps Chloe out of her down jacket and props pillows under her back to ease the pain. “I’ll be back with some pain meds, alright?”
“Is mommy okay?” Finn asks when she makes it back downstairs, blue eyes full of empathy.
“She’ll be fine, sweetheart,” Beca assures him gently, running her fingers through his red curls. “Just needs to rest up for a bit.”
She entertains the kids on her own for a while, whipping up a simple lunch. Logan thankfully doesn’t fight her to go down for a nap, and Finn seems content hanging out downstairs to watch a Disney movie while Beca goes to lie down for a bit.
Her lie-down ends up being a two-hour nap, and she wakes up in a flash to the sound of the fire alarm. Chloe is still out cold from the pain medicine and Beca shuffles out of the room and heads downstairs as quickly as she can.
“Finn?!” She calls out, following the burning smell to the kitchen.
The seven-year-old is standing in the middle of the room, frozen as smoke seeps out of the oven.
“Baby, step back,” Beca instructs, yanking him away from the oven. She opens it, relieved to find no actual flames, and opens the window above the sink to let some clear air in. Grabbing the oven mitts from the drawer, she takes out what looks like a cake and sets the baking pan out on the window ledge. She focuses on her son next, crouching to his level as her eyes sweep over his body for any signs of injury. “Are you hurt, Finn?”
He shakes his head, tears silently streaming down his cheeks. “I-I wanted to help and-and make Ch-Christmas d-dinner,” he stammers. “I’m sorry.”
Beca’s expression softens. “Oh, baby…” She pulls him into a tight hug. “I’m just relieved you’re alright.”
“Bec?” Chloe appears around the corner, one hand braced over her lower back. “What happened?”
“Our little guy wanted to make dinner to help out but things didn’t go as planned.”
Finn sniffles, glancing at Chloe. “I made a cake and put it in the oven but then I went back to watch TV and I forgot about it until the alarm. But it was too late.” More tears leak out of his eyes as his features crumble. “Santa is not gonna come anymore. I ruined Christmas.”
Beca shakes her head. “You didn’t ruin Christmas, honey. You wanted to help us, which is really sweet, but it’s not safe to use the oven on your own. So next time you should ask one of us, alright?”
Finn nods. “Okay, I promise.”
“And Santa is absolutely still coming,” Chloe adds with a beaming grin. “Because you’re kind, and devoted, and the best big brother there is.”
“What’s devoted?” He asks in a small voice.
“It means that you love your family and friends and will do many things to make them happy, like trying to make Christmas dinner.” Beca smiles. “But we can still make that happen. Wanna help mama make grilled cheese? That’s an acceptable dinner, right?”
Finn’s head bobs up and down; grilled cheese happens to be his and Logan’s favorite.
When Logan wakes up, the three of them spend an hour decorating the table and making dinner while singing Christmas tunes. They watch a movie Finn and Logan picked out, and the kids set a plate of cookies and a glass of milk next to the Christmas tree for Santa.
“Oh man, what a day,” Beca mutters with a sigh as she crawls into bed after making a few trips downstairs to arrange the presents around the Christmas tree. “How are you feeling?”
“A bit better,” Chloe says from her spot next to her. “This Christmas will definitely be one we’ll remember. I threw my back out, our son almost set the house on fire and--”
Beca gasps. “My water just broke.”
An almost comical length of silence follows as Chloe and Beca stare at each other with wide eyes.
“Or I peed my pants, but I just used the toilet.”
“You’re kidding,” Chloe whispers.
Beca throws her wife a glare. “Fuck. Can you drive?”
“I’ll manage.”
It’s a good thing they already set up the car seat and that it hasn’t snowed anymore during the day, so their driveway is clear.
“Whassgoin’ on?” She hears Logan mumble when Chloe crosses the hall to wake the children up. Beca’s water broke two hours ago, and her contractions are close enough that they need to head to the hospital.
“The baby is coming,” Chloe says gently. “So you guys are going to go to Ms. Jenny’s for the rest of the night while mommy takes mama to the hospital.”
While Beca’s labor with Logan lasted over twenty-two hours, this baby is in much more of a haste to meet the world.
Riley Josephine Mitchell is born at 6:13 am on Christmas morning. Beca’s chest feels fit to burst with love as their tiny screaming baby is laid on her chest, her cries quieting down as soon as she feels Beca’s warm skin.
“It’s okay, baby girl,” she murmurs, brushing soft kisses to her forehead. Her eyes find Chloe’s equally teary ones. “Merry Christmas, love.”
Chloe beams, resting her forehead against the side of Beca’s head. “Merry Christmas.”
Yeah… definitely one they will remember.

Part 6
It's been a few days since your date night with Jay. It went much better than you expected. You knew from the start that Jay is a good guy and probably a sweet lover too. But after that night, you found out that there's more to him than his good look and easy-going attitude. Jay's gentleness soothes your insecurities. His understanding warms you from inside. It's hard to feel miserable when he's around. You cannot help but latch on to him.
You and Jay keep texting and calling each other every day, but you only got to meet him once since then. For a coffee date before he ran to work while you went for your PT session. His job doesn't leave a lot of spare time, so you relish all the time he spends with you.
You hear your phone rings when you have your lunch. There is a video call request from your best friend and work-mate, Alex. "Hey, you! I miss your stupid face!" you greet him.
"You know what's not stupid?" Alex ignores your greeting. "The new material I received this morning
He refers to an email you sent him last night. Instead of sleeping, you wrote some lines and tinkered some notes on your electric keyboard. It was still very rough, but you and Alex swap ideas all the time. They could be a bar of melodies or chord progressions. Or maybe a single line that you cannot get out of your head, even there's no context to it.
"Wanna work on it soon?" Alex proposes.
"Yeah, sure!" you easily agree.
"You know I'm gonna ask how you come up with that song idea, right?" Alex probes further. He got an idea about your sudden burst of inspiration, but you haven't told him anything yet so far.
"You can ask. I might not answer", you nonchalantly retort. "Are you asking now?"
"I would, but I just arrived at my parents' house for our weekly dinner", Alex turns his camera phone and shows you his family dining table. "Say hi to Y/N, Pop" He lets his parents know that you're on the phone.
"Hallo, Liefje" Alex's parents greet and wave at you. "I miss you, Y/N. How are you doing, darling?" Alex's mom squeals at you.
"I miss you guys too. I miss home," you utter mournfully.
"I saw your dad last week. He and your mom cannot wait to have you back home next month. As are we." Alex's dad informs you.
Your face gets even more upset. "I haven't told my parents yet, but it's gonna be another two months. It's not working out as good as they wanted"
Alex's parents let out a sympathetic noise. "Oh great, I still have two more months to hide all my chocolate from you" Alex teases you instead. He knows if he doesn't throw any humor here, you're going to weep. The family laughs at your offended look.
"Where's Sara?" you ask them when you didn't notice Alex's little sister on the table.
"She's getting ready for a date after dinner. Said they will go stargazing. Can you believe it?" Alex skeptically recounts to you.
"Hmm, that sounds romantic. Good for her." you hum your appreciation. Alex can see twinkles in your eyes.
"Of course, you thought it was charming", Alex sounds vexed.
"Why are you so grumpy about this? You have a hit song that compared someone's eyes with the moon", you remind him. "Last time I checked, that song already got more than 400 million streams on Spotify". Alex just grumbles incoherently, while you can hear his father's booming laugh in the background.
"Alex, would you please call your sister down for dinner?" Alex's mom orders him.
"Alright, ma. Gotta go, Y/N. I'll call you later when I'm back at the studio. Bye, sis!" Alex ends the call.
◢◤
Kelly Severide comes to your place in the evening after he finished his shift. He called you on your cell several times, but you didn't pick them up. He knocked on your door for a few minutes without answers. Worried that something bad happened to you, he uses his key to open your apartment door. You gave him a spare when you began your recovery from the incident. Since you got nobody in town except for the 51 Family, you thought at least one of them should have access to your place, in case you need help.
Kelly sees you sitting on your corner desk with headphones on. Your head is nodding to the beat you're working on. Relieved to know you okay, but feels a bit annoyed, Kelly taps your shoulder lightly. You jump in surprise, almost fall from your chair if Kelly doesn't hold you down.
"Kelly! What..! Why are you..??" your heart is still pounding in shock, makes you unable to finish your thoughts properly.
"I knocked! And called you many times! Neither you answered! I was afraid that you fell and unconscious so I used my key", Kelly exclaims.
You check your phone and see seven missed calls from Kelly. "Sorry, I left my phone on mute, somehow"
Kelly goes to raid your fridge and takes a bottle of apple juice. "Your fridge needs beers" he judges. "Go, get ready! We'll hang out at Molly's. Everyone misses you", Kelly orders you.
"I'm working, Kelly. Just because my work has no shifts, doesn't mean I can go anytime you want", protest you.
"You work for your best friend, who's in another continent right now. You can slack off for a bit" he dismisses your complaint.
"I'm making big progress here. My writing juice is flowing", you point at your laptop.
"One hour. I give you one hour to work. Then I'm hauling you out of here. In the meantime, I'm gonna order take out for us", Kelly decides.
You only mumble your disagreement, knowing that you're gonna lost the argument anyway. So you just put your headphones back on your head. However, Kelly pokes you again five minutes later, with his phone on hand, "Hey, do you want Thai or Greek? I'm in the mood for Greek right now", Kelly playfully asks you.
"Yeah, Greek is fine" you start to feel bothered.
He leaves to order the food while you're back to do your work. Ten minutes passed, Kelly drags a chair from the kitchen island to your side. He knocks on the table to catch your attention.
"Hey, I just remember, Brett said they saw you rescued somebody at the swimming pool last week. How did that happen?" he questions.
You let out a desperate sigh. "You're not going to let me work in peace, are you?"
Kelly just grins. "C'mon, we haven't hung out for a while. Lots of drama to share"
You save your work in defeat and then move to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water. Kelly sits on the couch with legs resting on the coffee table. You place yourself next to Kelly.
"They extend my therapy for another month" you restlessly play with your bottle cap.
"Is it not going well?" Kelly asks in concern.
"I got cramps that day at the swimming pool. They worried I damaged something. So they prefer to be cautious" you fill him in.
"That's when you rescued Dr. Manning's son " Kelly tries to clarify.
"Well, I just pulled him out of the water. The pool guard was the one who helped him breathe" you shrug.
"You assisted. It still counts as a rescue", Kelly insists. "Bet if Dr. Manning knew, she would buy you drinks at Molly's forever"
"More like got invited to dinner at their place," you mutter.
"Hmm, that's probably true" Kelly pauses for a moment, thinking. "Wait, did you meet her?" he grills you.
"Yeah. And her fiancé. I came to the hospital to check on Owen. Then next thing I knew I'm having family dinner with Manning/Halstead clan", you convey to him.
Kelly's phone chirps interruptedly. "Food's here" He goes to pick up the food from the delivery guy. "Alright, let's eat then we can go to Molly's"
◢◤
Jay is nursing his first beer as he watches Will bottoms up his third glass of whiskey. Will called him earlier in the evening, claimed that he needs bro night out after a shitty day at Med. Jay's initial plan to have dinner with you got scrapped before he even asked.
"Maybe you need to pace yourself, Will", Jay suggests to him as Will signs to Otis for a refill.
"Yeah, Doc. Maybe you want to switch? We have a nice Dutch craft beer chilling here", Otis offers. But Will is still holding out his empty glass to him, silently demanding for more. "Okay then" sighs Otis as he fills the glass.
Jay hears the commotions at the other end of the bar. He recognizes some people from Firehouse 51 there. Christopher Hermann is cackling, while Matt Casey grins widely. They pay attention to someone that is sitting among the group, but he cannot see who because Severide is blocking his view.
Jay checks his phone while he finishes his beer. He received a text from you beforehand, told him that she's going out to meet her friends tonight. He texted back, wishing her to enjoy her night out, but got no replies. Will notices Jay's scrolling on his phone and asks, "Do you need to go back to work?"
"Nah, just checking my texts" Jay puts his phone back in his pocket. "Are you feeling better now?"
"Not in the slightest. But I still have to go to work tomorrow. If I wanna do better than today, I cannot do that with a hangover" Will sulks. "Hey Gabby, I would like to try that craft beer Otis suggested" he requests to Gabby who passes by.
"Would you like one as well, Jay?" Gabby offers him.
"Alright, why not.." Jay accepts the new bottle.
"Is this a new batch? Don't think I ever have it here before", comments Will after his first sip.
"Yeah! Just start to come in this month. It's a friend's favorite. She hooked us up with a supplier directly from The Netherlands. You like it?" Gabby enthusiastically claims.
"It's good. But still not Bourbon", Will pouts. Jay lets out a snort while Gabby snickers.
Jay looks around the bar as he savors his beer. He paused when he thought he saw you sitting among the 51 Gang. Will notices and looks in the same direction. "Is that Y/N?" asks Will.
Jay stands up for his seat, "I'm gonna go say hi to her"
◢◤
You feel a palm pressed to your back as you hear someone's saying from behind, "Didn't expect to see you here tonight"
You turn your back immediately as you realize whose voice it is, "Jay!" shout you excitedly. You open your arms to hug him. Jay lands a chaste kiss on your lips before hugs you back.
Kelly and Matt look at each other over your head with eyebrows raised. "Well, that's something I didn't expect" goads Kelly.
"Severide, Casey" Jay gives them an acknowledging nod with his hands stay on your hips.
"How do you know each other?" Matt asks curiously.
Jay opens his mouth to reply, but you hear Will's interruption, "You guys finally made it, huh?" Jay rolls his eyes at his brother.
"These guys have been sending heart-eyes at each other since they first met" Will tips off the 51 gang. "Which I arranged, by the way. But this result was unintentional"
"No, we're not!" you try to deny.
"I was there, Y/N, at your almost first kiss" Will divulges.
"Oh my god!" you hide your blushing face behind your palms. Jay smacks a kiss on the side of your head, amused while the group makes fun of you.
"I guess this happened after Y/N rescued Owen?" Sylvie asks to confirm.
"Ooooh yes, our next year candidate!" Hermann yells. The others just clap and whistle in response. You thud your head to the bar table, abashed.
"Hey, don't be embarrassed. We are proud of you" Casey remarks. "That said if you want to go to the academy..." he continues.
"Nuh-uh, I love my job, thank you very much" you quickly state.
You spend the rest of the night beside Jay, chatting and laughing with 51 Family and Halstead brothers until you let out a big yawn. "Tired?" Jay asks you softly.
You nod, "Beer always made me sleepy"
"Let me settle the tabs, then I'll take you home" Jay squeezes your shoulder as he stands up.
Kelly observes you and Jay throughout the night. When Jay left your side, he lowly speaks to you after making sure everyone else is busy conversing elsewhere. "So Jay Halstead is the one who got your juice's flowing, huh?"
"Kelly!" you slap his arm, agape.
"I mean your writing juice! You said it earlier!" Kelly yelps, but his smirk contradicts his words.
"You're the worst" you just shake your head.
Kelly's face turns serious for a moment, "Does he know about your situation?"
"What situation?" you try to sound innocent, but Kelly just gives you a look.
"Told him about the collapsing stage" you deflated.
"Have you told him that you're leaving in two months?" Kelly pushes.
"It's still too early. Who knows, Jay might end this soon", your voice sounds unsure.
"Don't think so. He looks quite smitten by you. Should probably tell him soon", Kelly disagrees.
"I'm happy right now, Kels. Can I just enjoy this for a while?" you start to lose patience with him.
"He deserves to know" Kelly persists.
You look down at the table, your fist is clenched in frustration. Jay comes back and notices the tense atmosphere. "Is everything okay?"
You reply with a forced smile, "Yeah, let's get out of here" then stand up from your seat and give Kelly a quick hug, "Thanks, Kels"
You move to say goodbye to the rest of the group, which takes a bit of time since everyone wants a hug or has something to tell you.
"C'mon guys, my boyfriend has waited long enough" you cry out when Sylvie and Gabby hold you back from going. The group guffaw even louder and playfully nudges Jay, who just beams brightly at you.
"Good night, guys!" you casually shout, finally getting away from the rest of the group, with Jay's hand in yours.

Perfect Love

Genre: Yandere AU
Warning: Drugs, Nightmares, Anxiety, Collars, Electrocution, Medication
Words: 1.9K
Chapters:
One | Two | Three | Four | Five | Six | Seven | Eight | Nine | Ten | Eleven | Twelve | Thirteen | Fourteen | Fifteen | Epilogue
Prompt: When Jisung started dating Chan it was a lot of fun, but that’s all it was and he wanted more. It was a mutual break up, or at least he thought it was. He had no idea what Chan was capable of, that is until he finally went to his house, carried into it actually. A second chance at love is entirely out of his control, and he might not have been the first of Chan’s lovers to be in this position.
Tumblr media
When Jisung came to he was sitting at the table. His arms were pinned to his sides with rope, hands tied together and wrapped with tape, legs also tied together, he could barely moved. Felix was sitting across from him, quiet, he wasn’t his usual self, well, not his happy sunshine and rainbows self anyway. His eyes were hazy, clearly not all there, Jisung wondered if that’s how he looked like after some of his treatments.
Chan was cooking, finishing up anyway, and setting the table. Jisung didn’t know what to say, but he didn’t look at the older boy, keeping his head down. This new quiet was unsettling, he felt like the worst was upon him. When the table was set Chan sat next to him, trying to feed him.
“I’m not some pet that needs to be fed.”
“So he speaks.” Chan put down the utensils. “Well then, if you’re hungry, you can eat with your face. Felix needs more of my attention anyway.”
Chan moved over and sat next to Felix, feeding him. The boy smiled and leaned against the older one, but he was still pretty quiet.
“What did you do to him?”
“I saved him, and now I need to look after him after the stunt you pulled.”
“What? Trying to wake him up!”
“You triggered him you idiot.”
“What…”
“It’s gonna take a while to fix him up, but at least I know how to fix you too now.”
“Chan… you need help…”
“Me? I’ve always taken care of myself, I had too, and now I can take care of you two.”
“Not like this… you don’t have to…”
“Eat… if you can.”
Jisung felt the tears sliding down his cheeks, falling onto the table. He heard scratching on the window again and jumped, nearly falling over. He looked around but there was nothing, Chan wasn’t bothered, he hadn’t heard anything. Jisung heard the noise again, frantically looking around for the source. It had to be in his head, it couldn’t be real. He closed his eyes, wishing this nightmare would just end.
He only opened his eyes again when he heard the others move. Chan had picked Felix up and took him upstairs in silence. Jisung stayed put, he thought the other would come back soon, but he didn’t. He was left alone, unable to move. His stomach growled but he refused to eat, there was no way he’d stoop so low. So he was left with nothing but his own imagination, and it was driving him insane.
The scratching on the windows kept happening, each time getting louder. He shut his eyes again, singing a song hoping he could drown out the noise. He stopped when he heard footsteps. When he opened his eyes he realized it was dark out, it was nighttime, the house was quiet. He heard footsteps again, running around upstairs, then suddenly in the living room. It felt like something or someone was in the house.
“Chan!”
He started squirming in his seat, screaming for the older again. He was panicking and he was terrified about what was happening. He screamed again, starting to sob. A hand grabbed his shoulder and he yelled again, nearly falling over but he was caught. He looked around, it was day again and Chan was steadying him.
“Easy, Jisung, I’m here, it’s okay.”
He didn’t understand what just happened, but Chan pulled him close and pet him gently. He couldn’t help but sob into the older boys shirt. His head was spinning and he just wanted it to stop. He didn’t want to say what he was going to say next, but he just needed the peace.
“Chan… I’m sorry… can I please… can you make it stop… please make it stop…”
“Oh baby, I can’t do that right now, I need you to get clean, okay.” Chan kissed his head. “I’ll make your pills tonight.”
“No! No please… I can’t…”
“You’ll be okay, it’s all going to be okay in the end.”
“Chan!”
“Come on, I can’t leave you up here and I need to take care of Felix.”
“What? No… no don’t…”
Chan picked Jisung up and took him down to the basement and sat him down, untying him. When his hands were free Jisung wiped away his tears, trying to pull himself together. The older boy reached over and caressed his cheek before taking the collar off.
“Now I want you-”
Jisung bolted when the collar was off, scrambling up the stairs and bursting out of the basement. He took a second to catch his breath, and out of the corner of his eye he noticed that dark figure that had been haunting him. He screamed and got up only to see that same figure standing in front of the door. He fell back, crawling back, bumping into the older one who had come upstairs.
Chan bent down and hugged the boy. The little one was shaking in his embrace, eyes glued to the door. He couldn’t help but chuckle, wondering what the other was seeing. He had an idea, but he just cuddled Jisung, whispering words of comfort to help soothe him. He heard footsteps coming from upstairs and saw Felix coming down.
“Is Sungie okay?”
“He will be, he’s off his meds right now, you know how bad it can get.”
“When will he be better?”
“Soon, soon, I see you’re better aren’t you?” Felix nodded. “Are you still mad at Sungie for what he did?”
“No… he’s off his meds… can’t be mad for that.”
“You hear that Sungie?” Chan kissed Jisung’s head. “Felix isn’t mad at you anymore, that’s good, I can’t have my two boys fighting.”
Jisung hadn’t been listening, but he was holding on tightly to Chan, scared of what would happen if he let go. The figure didn’t move, and even without eyes, without a face, he knew he was staring at him, burning a hole into his soul.
“Sungie, baby, you need to rest, and not to run off, come on now.”
Chan managed to get the collar back on the other without much issue and got him on his feet. Felix ran down and grabbed Chan’s hand though.
“No, Jisung should stay with us.”
“Lix, I need-”
“Please, I’ll take care of him with you… I know what happens when I don’t take my meds…”
“Alright, but he needs to go to sleep first. Go upstairs and put your headphones on, we’ll be up in a minute okay.”
“Promise?”
“Yes, now go.”
Felix nodded and headed upstairs. Chan carried Jisung into the living room, sitting him down on the couch. He was clearly in his own head, still shaking. Chan pet his hair, waiting a moment before setting off Jisung’s collar. The boy screamed and curled up on the couch, the screams only stopped when he passed out.
Chan didn’t move for a while, letting the other calm down. He got up and kissed his head then carried him upstairs. Felix moved over to let Jisung lay down, he took off his headphones and lowered the volume on the TV.
“Chan…”
“Hm?”
“What happened to Jisung…”
“Hm… I suppose it’s best for you to know, so you can better help me take care of him. I have his records right here.”
“Records?” Felix had put Jisung’s head in his lap, petting him. “He’s done bad things?”
“No, no, no, bad things happened to him.”
“Oh… did you know? Is that why you brought him here?”
“Honestly, no, I didn’t know what happened, but I had a feeling. Besides, life wasn’t good to him anyway.”
“Life wasn’t good to me either…”
“Don’t think about that baby, you’re okay now.”
Chan and Felix spoke for a while, Felix understanding Jisung a little better, hugging him tight whenever he whimpered. By the time nightfall came Felix asked not to take his medicine, not wanting Jisung to be alone in case he woke up, knowing Chan was gonna be busy that night. Chan was a bit hesitant, never having done so before.
“Lix, you won’t sleep well if you don’t take your medicine.”
“I know there’s a chance… I won’t sleep well… but I can’t leave Jisung alone. It’s just one night Chan, please.”
“Felix-”
“You’re not giving Jisung any meds either.”
“Fine, but I don’t want you asking not to take your meds in the morning.”
“I’ll take it, promise.”
“Okay, try to have a good night sleep, yell if you need me.”
“I will.”
Chan gave them both a kiss before going down to his lab to work. He didn’t like the idea of leaving either for the night without their medicine. He couldn’t give it to Jisung, but Felix, he hoped nothing bad happened. He wasn’t gonna get Jisung’s medicine right on the first try, he knew what he needed but the dosage was probably gonna need to be adjusted.
Since he was already doing that he figured he’d refill Felix’s meds too. He spent the whole night in the lab, thankfully there was no issue from his boys. When he finished he added pills to Felix’s bottle and place another in the medicine cabinet for Jisung. He wouldn’t try anything on Jisung for a few days at least, so tomorrow would be worse than today. At least he could trust Felix would help him out.
♥♥♥♥♥
Felix only woke up once in the night, when Jisung was subconsciously squeezing the life out of him. He squirmed to turn around, gently shaking the other until he opened his eyes. Didn’t help much since Jisung only gripped him tighter.
“Jisung… it’s okay… nothing’s gonna hurt you… breathe…”
The other nodded, slowly loosening his grip. He was taking deep breaths, calming himself down a bit.
“I should go get Chan.”
“No… no don’t go… just stay…”
“But-”
“Please… if… if you really wanna go get him… then we go together…”
Felix thought for a moment, seeing how shaky Jisung was and just laid back down. It wasn’t a good idea for either of them to be walking around the house at night. He took Jisung’s hand, soothing the other so he could go back to sleep staying awake until he was sure the other was back in dreamland.
♥♥♥♥♥
Chan woke Felix up in the morning, asking him to go down and set the table. He knew they both needed his attention so he planned for a simple breakfast. As Felix ran downstairs Chan told him to take his medicine as well, saying he’d be busy with Jisung for a while. Felix knew where his pills were, the bottle in the medicine cabinet with an ‘F’ on the top. He noticed a new bottle in their too, a ‘J’ on it.
When he grabbed his bottle he noticed it had been refilled. His eyes lingered on Jisung’s for a while, knowing the boy wouldn’t be taking any medication for a while. He grabbed a pill, rolling it around in his hand. He promised Chan he would take it, but he was having other ideas. He knew the older one kept count of his pills so he never over did it or forgot.
Felix dumped the pill in his hand into the sink and then turned the faucet on to get rid of it, putting the bottle back just as Chan came down with the other. He smiled at him, grabbing the plates and setting the table as he was asked. It was probably a bad idea not to take his meds, he figured he could handle it, and that Chan wouldn’t noticed. Jisung didn’t seem so bad and he gave the boy a smile, knowing the next few days were gonna suck.

The Pains In My Heart
Tumblr media
Another piece of writing because I got bored! And Jung Jaehyun is the epitome of my life. Something a little heavier because watching a movie that makes you cry is the best method of healing ever :D Promise it’ll be a happy ending though!~ It’s a pretty long one, and I’m sorry it moves pretty slow. But I hope you enjoy! - Fay <3

POV: First Person
“Ms. (Y/L/N), this matter is very serious if it goes on any longer. I advise you that you stop with your activities and move somewhere better for your health.”
“I’m sure my daughter understands, Doctor.”
“Good. Now her next appointments are…”
So here am I now in this new part of the city where it’s considered ‘safe for my health.’ No matter where I go, it’ll all be the same in the end. Nowhere is safe for my health. As long as I try to survive and get through the day without breaking a bone. That’s all that mattered to me for the sake of my parents.
The first day we got to the new house was chaos. You know the deal, bringing out the boxes and unpacking all the dishes, clothes, toiletries, accessories. I wasn’t allowed to carry the things that were ‘too heavy’ for obvious reasons. As usual, dad would always crack jokes and even play around while mom unpacked and messily set the random articles of clothing and the accessories into the various rooms in the house. And for me? To just do as I was told. And the first night I slept, I barely got any. The city sights of our old home gave me comfort, where the loud noises on the streets numbed out the negativity in my head and gave me something to focus on as I slept instead of contemplating my existence.
I saw no point into moving out here. I already missed the other side of town where my friends were probably missing me. If I even had any. The new high school didn’t exactly make it easier on me either. Kinda like the one back where I used to live. Always kids picking on me and complaining when I had an excuse to sit out on activities that included intense physical activity. Oh yeah, it felt like home now. Everyday for the next two weeks was the same. I woke up, went to school, went home, did my homework, eat, then sleep. The same cycle over and over again with no change.
Until one day, everything seemed to change. As usual, I got up and sat on my bed for awhile staring out my window. The blinds of the opposite window were open, which never happened. I always believed that that house was never occupied. And then, this handsome man appeared, woken up and ready for the day. He was dressed in only a wifebeater and some grey sweatpants with his hair a fluffed up mess, and… Woah. Who was he? Was it possible for someone to wake up as flawless as him? That was until he closed his blinds. I froze on my bed, the image replaying in my head of when he walked into his room, seemingly done with his morning routine.
Eventually, I had to get out of bed. I did my morning routine, got dressed, ate breakfast, and headed out to walk to school. It was slightly chilly that morning on the way, I wished I brought a jacket. Why did I wear such a short sleeve shirt? Luckily, I was there in twenty minutes with ten left to spare. The building could be colder than outside, I swear.
After the first three classes of the morning, it was finally time for lunch. I mainly was by myself, sitting in the corner where no one ever goes to. It was all fine and dandy, until I met the eyes of the same guy I saw next door. This time, in actual clothes and socializing. He was less mysterious in this sense. He seemed to have fun. He stared at me as if he wanted to do so on purpose, until something else caught his attention. What was this feeling in my heart?
The school day began to end, finally. And it was time to walk back home. Just as I was about to head out, I heard a ‘hey you!’ being called out. I normally would ignore it. It was probably someone else being called to. Until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I whipped around to meet the same eyes of the boy next door. I was numb.
“Hey you, I was calling for you~”
“Do I know you?” I questioned him. Well, duh of course I knew him, what a dumb question…
“Well, I am your next door neighbor. Perhaps I didn’t introduce myself. Ahem, Jung Jaehyun. Junior class,” he said as he held out his hand, a small smile appeared on his lips. So he was a year above me. I hesitantly took his hand with a shy grin.
“(Y/N), sophomore class.”
“Year younger, eh? Well, I suppose I can walk you home,” he said as his smile got wider.
The walk home was pretty pleasant. Jaehyun was an interesting person. Pretty popular among the crowd and had friends who were just a popular. He was pretty intelligent as well, which made the girl swoon. He sounded so perfect, and why was someone so perfect talking to someone who had nothing to offer? I guess you could say I’m a prude. I was nothing compared to what his life was like.
“I mean, there could be some upsides in your life right?”
“If taking meds and constantly protecting yourself from almost everything was fun, I would consider my life an amusement park.”
“C’mon Negative Nancy, don’t get like that.”
“I’m not that pessimistic, I swear!” We could both laugh at my misery and how silly it was. He made my spirits lifted somehow. Like the world was off my shoulders finally. It was a fun time until we both stopped by my house.
“Well, I guess tomorrow is a new day, huh?”
“Yep. And no worries, (Y/N). It’ll always be a better day tomorrow. Don’t get too negative on me, eh?”
“Yeah yeah~ No time for lectures right now, ok? Well, see you at school, Jae!”
“You too, little miss sunshine~”
The little nickname he gave me made me chuckle and feel warm on the inside. Maybe I finally found a friend who’ll stick out for me. How wonderful. Until my mood swing hit and said, ‘He only pitied you. Don’t think it won’t happen again.’ It was fun while it lasted, as I always say.
For the next few months, it was like this. Me and Jaehyun walking to school together, meeting up at lunch with his friends to hang out, coming home afterschool and spending more time together in his house. And then go to bed to do the same thing all over again. Our moms would even tease us for going on ‘dates.’ Ridiculous, right? I’ll admit, it was kinda cute to be teased that we were a couple.
We couldn’t keep secrets from each other. We were the best of friends. Why would I lie to him? But thruthfully, I already broke that rule since Day One. I wouldn’t dare tell him what was wrong with me. Why I couldn’t do certain activities and why I was suddenly negative at random times. I couldn't even tell him why I was on so many medications at once. We were supposed to tell each other everything right?.
Until that fateful night. That’s when he finally found out everything.
On a Saturday afternoon, Jaehyun sent a text even if he was in the next window of the house.
[3:50] (Y/N)! I wanted to tell you something!
[3:50] What haven’t you told me? lol
[3:51] Hurtful, hahah
[3:51] Anyway, Taeyong’s picking me up to head over to Taeil’s house in about 20 minutes. The guys will be there. You wanna come?
[3:52] Um, heck yeah! Casual?
[3:52] No, we’re going to prom. Of course dress casual, silly~
[3:52] lol, you meanie. I’ll be at the house in about 15.
[3:53] sounds good~ I’ll let them know you’re coming with.
And as usual, I dressed into a jacket and some leggings with a random band shirt thrown in my closet. Surely I didn’t look like I tried to fit in, did I? After a few minutes of laying around in my bed, I got up and headed for next door, just about five minutes before we were supposed to leave. I rang the doorbell about three times before a hoodie-clad Jaehyun stood at the door.
“You’re here a bit early~”
“Don’t pretend like you don’t miss me.”
“I’m not saying I didn’t,” he said as we both chuckled. I stepped back as he went to lock up his door. And at that moment, I heard Taeyong pull up on the driveway of the house. I turned to look around and gave a wave to the car. Well actually it was a seven-seater SUV, suiting his ‘father-like’ image. But it managed to fit the whole group regardless.
Jaehyun and I squeezed into the van, which had enough room for the both of us. And the ten minute drive to the house wasn’t too quiet either. Boys were normally loud, regardless of age or whoever was in the car.
“So (Y/N), finally joining in one of our parties, eh?”
“It’s not exactly a party if we’re just drinking and playing video games, Yuta,” Doyoung said, making the whole car burst into laughter.
“Well, actually I can’t drink too much.”
“Why not? Age is nothing but a number, (Y/N). We won’t tell the cops.”
“Unless you want me to die Johnny, then I’ll take nine tequila shots.” The car was filled with more chuckles and laughs as more conversation went on. Soon, we arrived to Taeil’s house, getting out the car and piling up in his living room.
This went on for a couple of hours. The smell of alcohol in the air made me feel a bit heavy, but I went on. Jaehyun kept me by his side at all times in case something happened to me, but truthfully wherever he was, I couldn’t even breathe.
“It’s just us, Jae. I don’t need to be babysitted. I’m just gonna sit on the couch.”
“Nuh-uh. You’re like my baby sister. No way in heck I’m letting you out my sight.”
Being called baby sister made a pang of hurt run through my heart. Why did I hate being called that? I wasn’t ever like that to him. But instead of saying it outloud, I just kept quiet and stood next to him the whole time. Damn you mood swings. It was like that for the night, I stayed by him because well, I was told to and that I couldn’t sit anywhere else because of the smell of alcohol everywhere. They didn’t even drink that much, why was it so strong?
Even the smell of it coming from their cups made me gag a bit. My brain was swirling until Doyoung proposed we take a road trip up the hills on the outskirts of town. I could barely handle the smell of alcohol in the house, so I was relieved when he mentioned something about going outdoors. It was that moment that we headed into the car, piling in one by one. Then we realized that we didn’t have any space for me in the SUV.
“Damn, do we have to leave her here?”
“Shut up, no we don’t. Um… (Y/N)…” Jaehyun said as he patted his lap. Suddenly, my cheeks turned red. Why was my heart suddenly beating so fast? Why did it suddenly hurt? The car erupted in little cheers and ‘whoops’ as I took a seat on his lap, closing the door before it was locked by a pretty sober Taeyong.
As conversation went on in the car, I looked out the window to calm myself from my surroundings. And then I was tapped on the shoulder.
“Hey (Y/N), you don’t look too well. Do you wanted to be taken home?”
“Mmm, no.. I’m… I’m fine. Really. Just out of it for the night.”
“Are you sure? You’re really pale and slightly out of breath. Do you need the window opened a little?” Upon his words, the window opened just a bit to let in fresh cool air into the car, which made the breathing a bit easier on my part.
“That’s better…Thank you, Jae.”
“Of course, whatever little miss sunshine so desires,” he said with a cheesy smile, patting my belly gently as another blush crept on my cheeks. Before anymore teasing or crude jokes could be thrown at us, we finally arrive on top a high hill. As we got out of the van, the air hit my senses. It relieved the my cloudy mind and my heavy heart, giving myself time to breath before I went over to what the boys were marveling about. And that’s when I spotted the most gorgeous view of the city. The different colors of light covered the area in dots, lines of neon decorated the night, and the beautiful dark blue sky complimented those random bursts of colors that changed every second.
And then I felt a pair of arms encircle around my waist, making me squeal and I felt myself being lifted off the ground.
“Ey, relax. It’s just me.”
“Dear god, why did you scare me like that?”
“Because it’s kinda cute~” His smile could make me faint at any moment. He was legit making my heart beat so fast that I could actually die. But why should I care if I pass out? Was this what it’s like to be in love? To the point where feelings were so strong, nothing else even mattered but the person who was holding you? It made my brain swirl again, to the point where I’m shaking in his arms.
This kind-hearted boy next door stole my heart. I wouldn’t be afraid to admit that. And if anything could cure my heart from my sickness, it would be him. but why was I too chicken to say it outloud? I’m so afraid of telling him because even spilling my emotions was dangerous. I extreme emotion was too dangerous for me to admit or or even feel. But I’m only human.
“Jeez, did I jumpscare you that badly?” God, that voice. It was so sweet, sweeter than honey. And those gorgeous eyes. I could look into them forever and I would never find my way out of them. What did he see through his eyes? What was I to him?
“Why you say that?”
“Your heart is beating really fast, also that you’re really pale.”
‘Fuck, he noticed,’ my mind said. Did he know was going on?
“No, I’m fine. Swear.”
“Well, then I guess this is the perfect time to tell you this.” Suddenly, my heart skipped a couple beats. Was this real king happening? What if this was the end of our friendship? Someone who I suddenly became close to after my diagnosis?
“(Y/N), do you think this is the perfect time to say I love you?”
Then suddenly, everything went dark. I couldn’t feel anything. But soon I woke up to the smell of latex. My eyes opened up slowly to a hospital room with only myself in it.
“This place again?” I said to myself. The window’s blinds were drawn so I couldn’t see anything out of it. I’ve lost my sense of time. And the only noise I can hear was some quiet talking outside the room.
“What happened last night, Jaehyun?”
“We were just up on a hill and.. she just collapsed.”
“You do understand her condition right?”
“What? Why didn’t she tell me? I didn’t even know…”
My heart clenched and beated rapidly. I felt like I just betrayed my friend. I lied to him all this time and what kind of a friend does that make me? I hid my heart condition from him after all these months and I didn’t even have the heart to tell him what was wrong with me. My mood swings, why I was so introverted, and this. And to top it all off, I fell in love with him. But who would love someone who lied to them?
Tears threatened to fall from my eyes, and then someone opened the door. I expected my parents to walk through, asking me if I was ok now, what was I feeling. But to my surprise, Jaehyun walked in. Was he gonna curse at me? Tell me why did I lie to him? Or even worse, why did he even tell me I love you.
“Hey..”
He was silent at my call to him. The sudden pause made the room feel awkward. The air was beginning to get heavy, almost hard for me to breathe. Then suddenly, I just couldn’t take it anymore. The tears that built up in my eyes began to spill. I couldn’t hold the truth for much longer.
“I’m sorry I lied to you. I’m sorry I lied about being ok. I know I should’ve told you sooner but I didn’t want you to worry about me… Please understand. Please don’t be mad at me…”
I choked through my words of apology. How would he even accept me? That was until I heard his own silent sobs. I looked up to see him at the edge of my bedside wiping up his own tears.
“Why did you hide it? I feel so guilty for bringing you with me last night…”
“But why do you feel so guilty? I lied to you about my health.”
“I feel guilty because I should’ve protected you. You couldn’t even breathe, (Y/N). I was so scared of the fact that you could’ve died.”
The tears stopped falling from my eyes. I could only stare at him as he turned his head to get a better look at me. I must look like a mess from the way he looked at me. But then he cracked a little smile at me, reaching over to my hair to tuck it behind my ear.
“Hey now. You’re so pretty when you cry. But you would look even more beautiful if you didn’t.”
A sudden chuckle came out of my lips, wiping up my tears and holding onto his hand with my free one. I didn’t even hold hands with him before. It felt like it fit in my own.
“That’s so cheesy.”
“You know it, babe.” Woah. Babe? How faster could my heart get?
“Jae? Is it this the perfect time to say I love you?”
After getting discharged from the hospital after three days, I went back to school pretty strong. The average looks from everybody staring at me, judging me, and probably worse. It was all back to normal. Or so I thought. Jaehyun wasn’t there and neither was his friend group. Everything felt out of place.
That was until Sicheng and Yuta came up to me before I went home for the day and handed me a blindfold.
“This better not be some prank, Yuta.”
“Why do I always get in trouble?”
“That’s besides the point. Anyway, just put on the blindfold, promise we won’t kill you. You’ll like what we prepared~”
“For the first time in forever, I never would trust Sicheng.”
Hesitantly, I put it on. I reached my hands out until I smacked someone, hearing a little ‘ow’ before I was guided somewhere. It seemed like we headed down the atrium to a case of stairs, seeming like it was taking forever. My heart began to weaken a bit, but before I could give in, I was guided through a door. A sudden breeze brushed past me and through my hair. But the air still felt warm. And then my blindfold was taken off to reveal that I was on top of the roof.
“But why would you two take me here?”
“Turn around and see for yourself.”
I took their word and I turned to see Jaehyun on a stool with a guitar. He has never looked so beautiful. So perfect. But what made my heart beat even faster is the fact that the song he sang was the my favorite love song. I didn’t even realize that I got closer to him, his features gotten more defined as I came closer and closer. His voice we even more perfect as he sang to me. What did this all mean?
But as he ended his song, his hand reached out to cup my face. His hands were so warm. And he pulled me close to his face, and our lips touched. His lips were even warmer.
The sudden cheers and ‘whoops’ made me pull back in embarrassment, hiding behind my hands as my heart began to race. In a good way of course. And then, Jaehyun suddenly spoke.
“For the last few months, this gorgeous young lady has stolen my heart from day one. She’s someone who unexpectedly became my best friend, who understood what it was like to be in pain. But what made her strong was the fact that she was able to pull through, just for me and for her family. She even hid the fact that she was in pain, just for me to not worry about her. And then she was able to see the brightside of life, why she should live longer, and why it was worth it. Because she was worth something to the boy next door who didn’t know that he needed her. (Y/N)?”
“Yes?”
“Will you be my girlfriend?”
“Yes. Yes yes yes, a thousand times yes!”
Even through my misery and pain, after all what I believed my life was, I finally found someone else who was worth all my love and all my life.

“It’s really early Sungie, you should go back to sleep.”
“No! No…” Jisung was still shaking. “I don’t want to…”
“Alright, alright, how about something warm? Make you feel better.”
 “Please… that would be nice…”
 “Let’s go then.”
Chan helped Jisung up, he couldn’t really stand cause he was still shaking, so Chan carried him upstairs. He sat him down in the living room, deciding to warm up some milk, getting some honey from the cabinet too. He grabbed a tray, putting everything on it and going over to Jisung. He set the tray down on the coffee table, grabbing a blanket to wrap around Jisung, kissing his head.
“How much honey do you want?”
 “I… I don’t know…”
“You’re very sweet, so I think you can have a lot.”
Chan poured some honey into the warm glass of milk, he stirred it, giving it a little taste before handing it to Jisung. His hands were shaking and it was obvious he’d end up spilling it, so Chan helped him out instead. The drink made him smile.
 “It’s good.”
“I thought so, it was my favorite to have after a bad night too. My mom always made it for me.”
 “Thank you…”
“You wanna talk about it?” Jisung shook his head. “That’s okay, I’m here when you need to talk.”
 “Can I… can I ask you something…”
 “What’s on your mind?”
 “Felix… Felix said… I was special… to you.”
 “You are.”
 “Why?”
Chan scoffed and took a moment. “When I first saw you… I was so… fascinated. You danced without a care in the world, just enjoying the moment. I figured your whole life was like that, didn’t actually check till after we broke up.”
“Did you… did you stalk me?”
“No, I was looking out for you. Wanted to make sure you were okay.”
 “That sounds-”
“Why did you work at that restaurant?”
 “What?”
“They treated you horribly, especially that one costumer who threw their drink in your face.”
 “You… you saw that…”
“Yeah, and that’s when I realized you needed me. I was so stupid to think everything was okay for you.”
 “Chan-”
“All I ever did when we were together was make you happy, that’s all I wanted to do. I didn’t know the rest of your life wasn’t like that. I should have taken better care of you then and I’m sorry I didn’t.”
 “That’s not-”
“Sh, finish you milk and take some medicine, it’s for your throat. I’ll be right back.”
Chan went upstairs leaving Jisung alone. He had stopped shaking, drinking the rest of his milk comfortably. He glanced out the window, the outside still dark. After a moment he thought he saw something move outside, he screamed and hid behind the couch, wrapping the blanket tight around him.
 “Jisung? What are you doing?”
When Chan returned he saw the boy on the floor. The other mumbled about something outside, he didn’t ask anymore questions though.
“There’s nothing there, come on, take the medicine and you can go up and lay down with Felix, maybe get some sleep. Would you like that?”
 “Yes…”
“Alright, medicine so your throat doesn’t feel bad later.”
Chan gave the boy some proper medicine, then carried him upstairs putting him in bed with Felix. Jisung felt better, curling up on the bed.
“Sh, don’t wake Felix okay. I’ll be right back.”
Jisung nodded, looking sleepy. He went back down to clean up, putting everything away. He grabbed a beer, grabbing the phone, Jisung’s phone, from the medicine cabinet, turning it on. He sat down on the counter, checking the comments on the post of Jisung he had made earlier. They were mostly compliments, although what caught his attention was a comment from the user Lee Know.
It started as a compliment, but hours later there was another one from them, asking where the photo was taken. It was a rather stupid question, the background was grass meaning it could have been taken anywhere. He paid it no mind, the phone catching up with service and showing him the missed messages and calls, all from the same person, Minho.
He read through the messages. They started out simple, checking in, see what Jisung was up to. Then they started asking where he was, talking about the empty apartment. He wasn’t too happy about that, finishing his beer and tossing the can, going upstairs. Jisung had fallen asleep, he was glad but he needed him awake for a second.
 “Jisung, baby, wake up.”
 “Chan…”
“Hey, I need you to take a picture real quick.”
Chan removed the collar, setting it down, pulling Jisung away from Felix. The boy was still half asleep, his grip on his phone not that strong. Still, he managed to take a selfie, a sleepy smile on his face. Chan looked it over.
“Good boy. Neck.” Jisung lifted his head up so Chan could put the collar back on. “Go back to sleep now.”
 “Okay…”
Jisung laid back down, snuggling with Felix. Chan went back downstairs, messaging Minho, saying he was moving in with a friend, been busy unpacking and too tired to do much else. He added the picture afterwards for assurance then turned the phone off and put it back where he found it. Whoever this Minho guy was, he really hoped they wouldn’t become a problem.

 “Jisung…”
Felix woke up cuddled up in Jisung’s embrace, he was being held tight. He found it adorable, gently shaking the other.
 “Jisung, wake up.”
Jisung whined, burying his face in the other’s back. Felix laughed, resorting to laying back down instead. He could just wait for him to get up, so he laid back down. He didn’t know how much time had passed before Chan came up to get them.
 “What’s this? Breakfast in bed?”
 “Jisung seems really sleepy.”
“Yeah, but he can’t be a bed bug now can he. Wake up, Sungie.”
Chan pulled Jisung away from Felix, the boy whining and try to keep hold of the other. The two laughed, Chan resorting to tickling Jisung to wake him up. He couldn’t resist, bursting out laughing, trying to get Chan to stop.
“And he’s awake, do you want me to stop?”
“Please!” Jisung was still laughing. “I can’t breathe!”
 “Okay, okay.”
Jisung was panting, staring up at Chan, smile still on his face. Felix had already gotten out of bed to wash up for the morning. Chan pulled up the boys shirt and kissed his chest, building up for a deep kiss to leave Jisung a little more breathless.
“Wash up and then come down, I made pancakes.”
Jisung nodded, staying in bed to catch his breath and wait for Felix. After he washed up the two went down together, sitting at the table and taking their morning meds. The pancakes were tasty as expected, the whip cream and limitless syrup making it sweeter. It felt like someone’s birthday.
 “Is it your birthday, Felix?”
 “What? Me? No.”
 “Chan?”
 “No.”
 “Is it my birthday?”
Chan laughed. “No, why do you ask?”
“This all really sweet, just wondering what the occasion was.”
“No need for an occasion, we can have pancakes whenever you want.”
 “Really?”
His comments had brought smiles to the others. He started to feel embarrassed over what he had asked. Back at his apartment he mostly ate takeout, or something from the restaurant, rarely having a home cooked meal, let alone a tasty breakfast.
“Yeah, of course, anything for you.”
“Can we… can we have pancakes tomorrow?”
“Oh, can we?” Felix chimed in. “Pretty please.”
“Well when you both ask so nicely how can I refuse. I was gonna suggest we do some baking today too.”
 “Can we make cookies!”
 “What about donuts?!”
“We can do both, but you have to promise to clean up the mess.”
 “We will! Promise, right Sungie?”
 “Yeah.”
“Good. Then you guys better clean up the kitchen now. I don’t really have all the ingredients for cookies and donuts but I’ll go out and get some.”
 “Okay.”
“Then stay out of trouble. I won’t be gone long.”
Chan excused himself from the table, giving them both a kiss before heading out. The two were excited, the days activities were gonna be a lot of fun and have a tasty outcome. They set out the ingredients they had, discussing the type of cookies and donuts they could make. When Chan returned they eagerly took the grocery bags, overjoyed with all the new ingredients. If they learned one thing that day, cooking doesn’t equal baking, especially from scratch.
It’s an understatement saying they made a mess. At some point the ingredients were used in a food fight, most of their hair was white due to the flour in the end. The store bought cookie dough was a mistake as it never got into the oven. It was a backup, in case making cookie dough from scratch failed, so they could still have cookies, but that quickly disappeared. At least they did manage to make cookies. The donuts were a whole other story.
Neither of the two were allowed near the stove, they were very impatient. Chan had to keep them busy by having them clean up the mess, again, and clean themselves up a bit too. The kitchen was maybe a fourth cleaned when the cookies and donuts were done, they couldn’t just let them cool down and get hard. So with some milk they enjoyed their goodies, maybe not as delicious as something they’ve had before, but good nonetheless, they vowed to do better next time.
“Well, I don’t want to clean another mess in the house, so I’m hosing you both down in the garden, let’s go.”
 “What!”
“Just to get the flour off you, Lix. You can take a bath with Sungie after.”
 “Oh, okay!”
“And you both can hose me down after.”
“Awesome!” Jisung cheered. “I call first!”
They went out to the back, the sun almost setting. Chan soaked them both with the hose, getting all the flour and all other ingredients off them. Jisung eagerly took the hose after to soak Chan, Felix yanking it for himself after, they certainly went overboard.
“Alright, alright.” Chan yelled, spitting out water and laughing. “I don’t want either of you catching a cold, let alone me, who would take care of you then?”
“We could take care of you for a change.” Felix said.
“Maybe, but I like looking after both of you. Now go dry up a bit and go take a bath, I’ll be up after I finish cleaning.”
“We were supposed to clean.” Jisung mentioned.
“Did I say that? Well I lied, now go before I douse you again!”
He let the hose go off and the two ran inside. They did their best not to track too much water through the house. Jisung was a bit nervous about taking a bath with Felix but the other assured him it was fine, filling the tub with plenty of bubbles. Once they were in the water any doubts faded, both taking turns cleaning each other, playing with the bubbles.
“And are my boys clean?” Chan peeked into the bathroom. “Or do they need help.”
 “Help!” Jisung laughed.
 “Really, I thought-”
When Chan got close enough Felix and Jisung both grabbed him and pulled him in, clothes and all. They laughed, splashing him with water. He fought back as best he could but it was two against one, eventually he surrendered.
“Alright you win, you win. Good job. Can I take a bath now?”
 “Can we help?”
“Um… fine, but dry up okay.”
They did so, putting on a bit of clothes, helping Chan out of his own. Felix was used to helping Chan with a few things, like a bath, he knew what he liked, Jisung was fairly new but a quick learner. Afterwards they all needed to dry off and put on clean clothes.
“Is Jisung sleeping with us tonight?” Felix asked.
 “Hm… sorry baby, but no.”
 “Please! Please I’ll do anything!”
“I know you would Lix, I know, but Jisung needs his proper rest.”
 “Oh… right.”
“Don’t worry okay, eventually he’ll get to sleep with us every night.”
 “Okay.”
“I’ll be up in a little bit okay.”
“Night Sungie.” Felix gave him a little kiss. “Sleep well.”
 “You too.”
Jisung took Chan’s hand and went downstairs with him. The kitchen still had a faint smell of cookies and donuts, it brought a smile to his face as he went into the basement. Instead of going to his room Chan tied him down on the table.
 “Chan…”
“Sh… we had fun today right?”
 “Yeah.”
“And that’s how it’s always going to be soon enough, okay, just smiles and happiness. Would you like that?”
 “With you… and Felix…”
“Yup, the three of us. You like the sound of that?”
 “Yes…”
“Good, good. Glad to hear it.”
Chan gently administered his medicine, petting his head, then placing the electrodes on. It didn’t take long before Jisung started pulling on the restraints, squirming and screaming.
“Easy, easy, you’ll be just fine, Sungie.” He kissed his forehead. “I’ll see you in the morning.”
He hit a button on the machine, sending a jolt through the younger boys body. It was set up to do so every half hour, just a small voltage, nothing too damaging. He locked the basement door, going up to Felix, the boy already laying in bed.
“Come on, up, you know you won’t get a goodnight sleep without your medicine.”
“I know.” Felix sat up. “I heard Sungie… is he okay?”
 “You’re using pet names now?”
 “Can I not?”
“You can, it’s so cute. Ask me again.”
 “Is Sungie okay?”
“Yes, he will be, just like you. You remember how it was, right?”
 “Yeah.”
“Then you know it’s for his own good. Now, show me your neck.”
Felix did as he was told, drowsiness quick to set in. Chan put his headphones in, sweet music filling his ears, he snuggled under the covers, getting a kiss. He leaned into the older boys touch, happy to be in his arms, and he looked forward to having Jisung around too.
