Alright but I've only written angsty stuff so. CW for trauma and lightly discussed past abuse. (This was started either prior to s2 or just prior to the end of s2 I forget but it was before Rick beat the shit out of Matt)

Rick Tyler was going to college. That really wasn’t something he’d say he ever could have done without Pat and the JSA. Before that he never had anyone who believed in him, or even cared about him for that matter. Sure, college wasn’t everything, but it was still an opportunity, a way out of his uncle’s house a hell of a lot sooner than he expected. Despite how glad he was to be leaving, he couldn’t help but feel something small in the back of his mind that didn’t want to. That’s what lead him here: sitting on his bed, staring at the wall. Trying to figure out why any part of him would hesitate. I’ve wanted out of this hell hole since my parents dropped me off, why’s it any different now?

Just then, there were footsteps. Rick froze and listened closely, trying to detect them. He couldn’t place them, but they weren’t Matt, he’d learned how Matt stomped through the house soon after he moved in; ready to climb out the window if he came back angry when it was still light out.

Participants may choose to post Rick/Beth fanworks such as fanfiction, fanart, gifsets, fanvideos, edits, meta posts and more!  This year you will have the option to follow the theme category of your choice: Fics and Edits! 

The purpose of the edits theme is to provide a more visual-friendly scheme to follow for those more inclined to participate with their artistic contributions, however everyone is free to pick and choose the theme schedule of their choice!

1. My favorite show is Stargirl!! I’m also hyperfixating on Sanders Sides rn but I doubt that counts LOL. I am also a fan (and hater /hj) of The Flash. My favorite movie honestly changes depending on what movie the ADHD brain decides to latch onto for a few months HSJSHJS but the Descendants trilogy is always dear to my heart!! Also Frozen and Hercules and Tangled. Other shows I like include The Good Place and Julie And The Phantoms!

2. Honestly … my favorite songs and artists changes so frequently I don’t know what to answer for this LOL. … do you want my Spotify Wrapped? /j

My favorite canon Hournite moments in no particular order: “pretend I’m Chuck”, the iconic Rick catching Beth, “you hurt so much you want to hurt everyone else, is that it?”, “your turn” and the back rub, and does their engagement count? because I’m counting their engagement.

My favorite Hournite headcanons: they were both pining for each other long before they got together, Rick is touch-starved and cuddly, literally everyone knows they like each other before they admit it, Rick is bad at flirting but tries his goddamn best, Beth isn’t much better but she’s at least better than Rick, Beth patches Rick up after fights (!!!), Rick definitely cried like a baby on their wedding day, Beth can make Rick laugh like no one else can

Hournite week day 5: 80's

The year is 1987 and young heroes Beth Chapel and Rick Tyler find themselves in a world full of unexpected change, and unexpected love. Their friends and teammates take videos of them on the old camcorder in an attempt to show their development as a couple. The footage is thought to be lost to time.

They actually just keep it locked in a safe box under the bed.

Now, Beth and Rick back at an old video tape from the days when they were still youthful. Eyes set on saving the world from unknown evils, and not on corralling their kids and worrying about what to put on next weeks grocery list. They miss it, sure, but they wouldn't change their lives for the world.

We talked on a Discord call, and recorded our audio tracks individually. We then stitched those together and edited out dead air time/unnecessary tangents (hard to believe when the runtime is over two hours, but...believe me, we cut a lot).
