it’s kinda fascinating to me seeing Hi-Fi Rush and Pizza Tower both coming out at the exact same time, cause they’re both pretty similar games but also couldn’t be further apart from each other. They’re both incredibly stylised, flow-oriented action games with a heavy emphasis on a combo-based score system, but whereas Hi-Fi Rush has a slick, smooth, instantly visually appealing art style and a combat system based around dancing and weaving around your enemies to keep intricate attack strings going, Pizza Tower has an art style that a friend of mine called “incredibly scrungly” and a combat system I can best describe as “me when i FUCKING GET YOU”
Peppermint and 808 from Hi-Fi Rush which is a rhythm action game that’s a love letter to cartoon anime hybrids from the 2000s and it’s perfect at both. Go check it out!
