Light on me Ep 15

Oh my God, they are giving me that cliffhanger! I am obsessed with them and I feel like my ship is finally sailing and I can't believe slow burn can be that exciting. It's frustrating as hell and at this point, I'm just annoyed by Da-On. Who does he think he is? It's not okay. He missed his moment and his time, just move on. Tae-Gyeong isn't as attached to him any more and in the important moments, there's Shin-Woo, not Da-On, giving him the needed courage.

Sorry to say it, but Da-On is selfish. Everybody can be selfish at times, that's totally fine and sometimes necessary but there's a certain degree and a right time. Da-On definetely tries very hard to get on a train that has long left the platform. Confessing now is just misplaced and, again, not the right time. He had his shot and he blew it. Yes, he has an identity crisis, so he is a bit slower and needs more time in processing things and coming clean with himself, but sometimes it also means because of your slowlyness, you miss out on things. It hurts, and not even just a little bit because you could've been the one, but the universe just doesn't want you to and you just have to accept that and respect the other person who has already moved on. Da-On really is too late.

Nevertheless, I find it very endearing how well and thoughtful Tae-Gyeong handles this whole situation. He respects Da-On but turns him down at the same time and he does it so smoothly, I nearly felt sorry for Da-On.

As time passed and I saw you, I felt sad for some reason. It seemed like you were trying really hard to be liked and you looked tired and unstable. That's why I thought if I loved you, you wouldn't try so hard.

It is very fair of Tae-Gyeong to explain why he liked Da-On in the first place, because this is still a rejection. He speaks in past-tense and it's more like reminiscing than confessing. They just have the talk they had to have for so long. I think Tae-Gyeong was always ready to tell him that, obviously wanted Da-On to know he can be loved by someone, but Da-On was caught up in his head. Tae-Gyeong painfully accepted that and after being mad at Da-On, he saw Da-On is just very lost and lonely.

I want you to do what you really want to do and find out who you really are.

This is a very beautiful quote and it has in some way the right effect because Da-On isn't scared any more but at the same time, he just sees that as an ecouragement to hit on Tae-Gyeong which urks me. I want to grab him and tell him he has to get over it. It's a lost hope. No matter how hard he tries, no matter how hard he forces the attention onto him, Shin-Wok will always be there and matter more to Tae-Gyeong. It's just like that.

So, watching Da-On pine and hope makes me uncomfortable because it just feels so damn realistic. We all hold on to something even if we know it would be better to let go - no matter if it's a friendship or relationship.

The thing that made me laugh and fangirl throughout this episode is how hard Da-On tries to be at peace with Shin-Woo but Shin-Woo just rudely rejects him everytime. This man just confessed and chases after his crush, ain't no one getting in his way to get his man because he has his destiny in his own hands.

Then we get this whole chaos when Tae-Gyeong's clothes go missing and Shin-Woo and Da-On both try to find them. It's literally a 50:50 between them at this point. Whenever Tae-Gyeong is there, one of them is as well and they switch places the whole time. Shin-Woo helps seeking but Da-On finds. Da-On tries to help with the make-up but Shin-Woo does it. Da-On encourages but Shin-Woo gives the strength. It's just a lot of back and forth for Tae-Gyeong but it's obviously Shin-Woo who has a bigger impact on him now.

The difference becomes very obvious when Tae-Gyeong is on stage. Da-On talks to him shortly before and reminds him of stuff, stressing him out even more but pushes him to do it nontheless. Da-On stresses himself often and just endures it. He sucks his energy out of stress and performs at his best because of it, but Tae-Gyeong is not such a person. He thinks too much, so his thoughts spin and scream "stress" and he needs someone to calm him down, so he can forget these thoughts. Da-On doesn't know that because he's still selfish and just does what would work for him. Like I said a few weeks ago, he admires Tae-Gyeong's honesty but apart from that, he doesn't know much about Tae-Gyeong. He doesn't know how to comfort him or love him. Yes, he can learn in time, but he doesn't have any. So, right here, he just stresses Tae-Gyeong out and no one is helped at all.

Shin-Woo knows how to encourage Tae-Gyeong. Pushing doesn't help. Saying "fighting" doesn't help. It's too much pressure. So, Shin-Woo comes up with the cutest, most precious and extremely proud smile.

It's important for Tae-Gyeong to know he's doing a good job, that someone is proud of him being on stage. Since Shin-Woo analyzed Tae-Gyeong to every detail, he knows and clearly has an advantage, so Da-On seems to be less important and becomes a part of the masses.

Still, this cliffhanger tortures me. There's clearly a metaphor here. Shin-Woo asking Tae-Gyeong directly if his hope is still reasonable or not, else he will stop hoping.

Thank God I don't have to wait that long for the finale...

F: ohhh that explains the pepperonis I found in my sock drawer this morning...

A: No it doesn't.

F: Banned from zoo.

N: Again?

Detective about Bobby:

D: So I made them an imaginary sandwich and told them that the day I didn't have to fake it, neither would they.

D: Maybe we should try and tone it down a notch. The neighbors changed the name of their wifi network to "i can hear you having sex".

N/Detective

D: instead of just going for it they asked "will you do the honors?" it was the cutest thing I had ever heard before sex.

Beginning (Mark)

You and your soulmate are connected by heart - you do not have a heartbeat until you meet your soulmate...

you were born without a heartbeat

you were alive of course, that much was obvious

but, whenever you tried to see if your heart was beating, you felt nothing

even when you had other people check, they didn’t feel a single thing

no thumping, no heartbeat

just pure nothingness

it was almost like you didn’t have a heart at all

when you were little you struggled to find an answer to why you didn’t have a heartbeat

you tried to exercise to see if it was just very faint, but that didn’t work

you would try doing dangerous things to get your adrenaline pumping, but still nothing

it wasn’t until your parents caught you one day trying to scare yourself into a heartbeat that they sat you down to talk to you

they told you that the reason you did not have a heartbeat was because of your soulmate

you were confused

why did you not have a heartbeat because of a soulmate?

they explained that your heartbeat would officially start once you met your soulmate officially

you knew that what they said was most likely true, but that did not stop you from continuing trying to get your heartbeat

eventually the more you tried, the more disheartened you got when you failed

eventually you just stopped, knowing that you were not going to get anywhere

however, that also made you a little frustrated

you tried so hard to get your heartbeat, but now you had to wait for someone else to unlock it

you grew impatient, and you longed for the day where you would not have to worry about it any more

Mark was similar, in a way

for as long as he could remember he had always worked himself very hard

but, no matter how hard he tried, he could never feel his heart beat

but instead of getting upset about it, he actually found it rather interesting

he would show this off to everyone that he met

he would show them that no matter what he tried, he never had a single heart beat

when he became a trainee, he would play games with the others to prove that he really didn’t have a heartbeat

it was something that he found interesting about himself, even after finding out the reason why it wasn’t there

and, as cool as he thought it was, there was that little piece of him deep down that was curious about what it felt like to have your heart beating

that curiosity never really left the two of you

but that mystery would be solved sooner than you thought

you were with your friends at the beach, since you were officially on break from school

and to be honest, you were a bit grumpy

you didn’t really want to go in the first place, preferring the indoors and some movies to the bright sun and sand

however, here you were, sitting on the beach under an umbrella, watching as people ran and splashed through the water

there was a group of boys that were around your age that were on the beach as well

you couldn’t really miss them though

you were sure that you could probably hear them all the way down the beach if you checked

you were perfectly fine staying some distance away

that was, until, your friends nagged so much that you dragged yourself to the water

you didn’t even notice that one of the boys kept looking over at you as you waded out to meet your friends

spoiler alert: it was Mark

you stood shin deep in the water, awkwardly splashing around with some of your friends

the more time you spend goofing around, the closer your group and the group of boys from earlier inched closer together totally not on purpose

eventually your groups got so close that to anyone watching on the beach, it would have looked like you all came together in one mass group

one of your friends decided to be a bit devious and sent a massive wave of water your way

the scare sent you tumbling back, not being able to keep your balance

you ended up slamming into someone, sending you both down into the water

you scrambled to get up, frantically apologizing to the person who you just tackled into the water

you noticed that it was one of the boys from earlier, and you felt your entire face heat up

you stuck one of your hands out to help him up as an apology for tackling him

meanwhile, your friends and his friends were both dying of laughter at what they had just witnessed true friendship

the boy took your hand and you pulled him up, asking him if he was okay and if he needed anything

as he shook his head, you felt it

something in your chest

it felt like someone was beating a drum, causing your entire body to feel, in a word, alive again

this was it

that was your heartbeat

and the person you had just tackled into the water was your soulmate

“what...what is this?” you could hear him ask to himself

“i think...i think its a heartbeat...” you suggested

“no way...guys come here and feel this,” he called out to his group

they all rushed over as you called over your own group

each of your friends took turns pressing their hands gently to the spot on your neck where you can feel your heart beating

and each one of them became ecstatic

your hearts were actually beating

you were actually soulmates

your friends smothered you with affection, overjoyed that you had found your soulmate

meanwhile, the boys continued to tease Mark

their lil Canadian smol had found his soulmate

after being smothered and teased, your friends shoved the two of you back together

however, with the force they put into it, the two of you ran into each other again

and of course, that meant both of you ended up right back where you started

in the water

as the two of you sat up for the second time after tackling each other into the water, you laughed

“we have got to stop meeting like this,” you joked

he let out the most adorable giggle you had ever heard

“sorry about that,” he apologized. “I’m Mark”

“(Y/N),” you introduced yourself

you both started to feel your heart beat faster, and you gasped, not being used to the feeling

you could hear both groups squealing at the two of you, thinking the two of you were so cute they could die

“I apologize in advance for my friends. They’re dumb, but I love ‘em,” you spoke with a smile

“I know the feeling...” Mark responded

after the two of you got up again, everything went relatively back to normal

only this time, the two of your groups were now joined together

it was complete chaos

but it was worth it

you all stayed at the beach until the sun began to set down below the horizon

as you all climbed out of the water to retrieve your stuff, Mark caught up to you

“hey, we’re all headed out to go get some food. Would you like to join us?”

you could feel your friends nudging you to respond, but no words would come

eventually, one of your friends spoke up for you, saying that they would love to join them

you all headed out to the restaurant together, your friends all making small talk

however, you and Mark, being the awkward beans you are, became extremely quite

after all, you had just met that day

what did you expect?

and of course, when you got to the restaurant, your friends basically made sure that the two of you sat next to each other

you felt like you all sat in that restaurant for hours, barely being able to hear your own thoughts over the chatter that went on at the table

once you were all finished, you all exited the restaurant, your groups beginning to go their separate ways

that was, until they nudged you and Mark back together to talk

“so...we didn’t get to talk very much,” he started

“yep”

“maybe...we could go...get food...sometime...together...” he started

“like a date?” you asked with a smile

you could see him start to feel a bit flustered, which you thought was the cutest

“i mean, yeah...if that’s what you want...” he trailed off

you paused for a moment, taking the moment in

“i’d love to,” you answered. “Only this time, we don’t bring our friends”

you both shared a small laugh

your friends behind you were all dying as they watched the two of you interact

you and Mark exchanged numbers before walking towards your respective groups

immediately you were both hounded by questions

“when’s the wedding”

“are you two official?”

and all that nonsense

you refused to give your friends an answer, but your heart was definitely beating a bit faster than normal

eventually they gave up as you all drove away into the night

a few minutes into the drive, you felt your phone buzz

you smiled when you saw that it was a text from Mark

“Hey, would you be up for some ice cream tomorrow?”

“Sure” you responded

you could barely remember what life was like before your heart started beating

that night you knew

you knew that it was the beginning of a new life for you both

GOT7 Newscaster AU

They're the morning show, and have a love-hate relationship with it

At the beginning of the day, everyone is already dead. Wake up time is 2:00 AM, and Youngjae and Yugyeom always whine about their job choices

First brodcast is at 4:30, and they barely rest during commercial breaks because of changes in script and touch ups and it's hell

After the first brodcast, there's another at 5:30, and the last is 6:30, but there's always work afterwards. It's a truly hectic job, but it's Their Job so it's okay- most of the time

Jaebum is the floor director, and is part of the unofficial morning hype crew. He doesn't show up on camera, and the rest of them hate him for it

Jaebum knows everyone's coffee orders by heart and massages his poor babies' shoulders when they're half asleep and getting make-up done. A true dad bro

Jinyoung and Yugyeom are the main newscasters, who inform the general public of the things happenin and so forth

Jinyoung does "Word of the Day" and Yugyeom mimicks him with a funny face to lighten it up because literally No One Cares Bro (but Jinyoung is so into it it's cute)

They do local news, so it's more light hearted in general- no one wants to watch depressing news when they wake up! And Jinyoung and Yugyeom are good at making people at home happy

Yugyeom always asks people at home what they're eating for breakfast, and playfully scolds viewers "you better be eating! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" and it's the cutest thing ever- even though he never eats breakfast, which his twitter followers never fail to point out

Because of their relaxed broadcasts, funny interactions with each other, and allaround handsomeness, each person (sans Jaebum, who doesn't even use social media) has a mass following on Instagram and Twitter. Jackson and Bambam being the most popular follower count-wise

Mark is the traffic informer guy and Bambam is the meteorologist and both use the green screen, which is next to the front of the building- which has like giant windows instead of walls

Bambam is always interacting with people passing by and he's become a local internet meme- #weatherbamselfie #NewsBam #IDABBEDWITHTHEWEATHERMAN, etc

Mark is more chill, and knows that nobody really cares about the traffic. Even so, he's no stranger to the mass following on social media. He "doesn't believe" Bambam when he says it's because of his looks (tho he knows it's the truth)

There's two dogs on set- Coco and Miho. Miho sometimes interrupts Bambam when he's giving a forecast and Bambam ends up both giving the weather and throwing Miho's toy- only for the puppy to come back to him. You can hear laughing in the background

There was once a bug on the Live Traffic Cam, and the green screen showed it and Mark SCREAMED and will never live it down, ever

One time Yugyeom couldn't wake up enough to put in his earpiece and ended up fumbling with it on Live Television while Jinyoung laughed at him

Another time, Jinyoung accidentally said "food fuck" instead of "food truck" and the rest is history

"At least I'm not into foodplay"

"Oh I heard about this good food fuck that's stationed down the street"

Bambam wore a black and white stripped turtle neck one day, and will never wear one ever again. Reason: when Yugyeom and Jinyoung transitioned from regular news to the forecast, Yugyeom announced with such a serious tone "And Now, Weather, with The Hamburglar." And Bambam had to be forcibly reminded by Mark that he couldn't tackle a news anchor while they were Live

Mic check usually includes things along the lines of "I want to kill myself, one, two, but first I'll kill Yugyeom, one, two" "I want to go home, one, two, and get away from this abuse, one, two"

Jinyoung constantly flirts with the makeup artists and Yugyeom fake barfs 24/7

Sometimes to mess with Yugyeom, Jinyoung and Youngjae bribe the people in the script office with lunch to make slight changes to Yugyeom's script. The shade of red on Yugyeom's face is one of the greatest things on earth

Jinyoung and Yugyeom are the most busy, having to do promo videos and prerecordings, and while the rest of the boys wait for them to finish up, they take Snapchat videos of them with filters and try to make them laugh. Yugyeom is weak

There's a running joke that when Mark does his report, he keeps his left arm glued to his side and only moves his right arm, but barely. Even though he's more free flowing now, when he first started he was so awkward. At random times, one of them (mainly Jackson) will stiffen his arms and waddle around and EVERYONE LOSES IT except Mark ofc

To mess with both anchors (because what else is there to do, honestly) Mark and Bambam convince the stylists to have Yugyeom and Jinyoung wear matching suits, and it's always too late for the two to change anything and they're always so??? Flustered about it. It's hilariously adorable

One time Bambam forgot about the green screen and wore green pants to work... nobody said anything because everybody's an asshole, and Bambam didn't realize until he saw himself on screen. He was so embarrassed he flattened himself against the wall, but in the end, told the forecast "like a ninja" and only covered his face when he finished

Being the floor director, Jaebum is constantly moving around the studio, in and out of rooms, up and down different floor levels, and always on his feet. There's a sense of respect for him, because before, during, and after each broadcast he's telling everyone what's happening and waving his arms around and pointing at cameras and making sure everyone has their scripts and earpieces and the field reporters are where they should be- it's crazy for him. Though this doesn't stop the boys from messing with him lol. He's constantly Stressed(tm)

They make it up to him, though, and always treat him to things after each workday is done

Youngjae and Jackson are field reporters, who go out on the street and to local events like fesivals or parades, and the occasional farmers market. The inside workers envy their freedom, but only slightly because of the things they go through

Youngjae once had to go interview miniature pony handlers, and while he was talking to the camera, Live, a pony came over and PEED ON HIM. It was traumatic

Jackson once got yelled and lectured at by an old lady because his hair was bleached, and took all with a smile, though he was constantly makin eye contact with the camera

Youngjae was at the beach interviewing a group of surfers, and a really hot dude came over and slung an arm over his shoulder and he Couldn't Stop Messing Up His Lines Holy Crap

Both Jackson and Youngjae are afraid of the "Runners"- the people who go behind field reporters and yell things like "OH MY GOD IM ON TV" or run by them shirtless or something. Once one of them accidentally crashed into Jackson and he continued his report from the ground

There was a grand openeing to an amusement park, and both Jackson and Youngjae were sent to go and report together. In the script, they had to ride the "FALLEN ANGEL: DEATH DROP" and Jinyoung and Yugyeom from base phisically tore their earpieces out because the screaming was so loud. Jinyoung still whines about his wounded eardrum

Once when Youngjae was out doing a market brodcast, he didn't hear the cameraman say it was Live and couldn't hear the anchors calling for him, and Twitter EXPLODED because he was singing along to the random street musician and "Well, instead of hearing about fruit stands, I think we all would rather like this."

Youngjae didn't notice until he saw the cameraman crying

When Jaebum got sick (from when he "visited his parents" aka overworked himself) the studio was IN CHAOS because the stand-in, Jae, was still under the title "floor director-in-training" and holy

Jaebum watched the morning news from his place and almost cried when Yugyeom messed up and looked up to where He usually stood and frowned when it wasn't Him, because He is on His couch and Couldn't be there for Yugyeom :( he got emo over his favorite bub

After the workday, everyone practically ran to Jaebum's apartment, only stopping to say hi to people who recognized them lol, and demanded he get better!!! But jokingly ofc

They made him soup and treated him like a king for the rest of the day. Youngjae and Jinyoung stayed after everyone else and because of their care, Jaebum was back on his feet in no time. (He wishes he stayed out for longer tho, he loved getting the attention)

Mark accidentally swore on Live Television because as he was walking to the other side of the green screen, he tripped and fell with a loud "SHIT" and it got so quiet he thought if he laid there long enough he would disappear

"There seems to be some trouble over at the traffic center, Yugyeom, how was your morning so far?"

"It was good, though I could have gone for a longer rest. I'm tired."

"Me too."

"..."

"I think our traffic center is back to normal, what do you think, Mr. Tuan?"

"I want to die, thank you, and now on 6th street-"
