I stopped caring about twd YEARS ago (I stopped with S7 E1 OTL), but someone shared the first episode of the rick & michonne short series with me...and wow. it's incredible so far.

I'm so glad to see mr. lincoln and miss gurira back together, pouring every bit of their souls into their acting. god their chemistry is unbelievably good...I had long forgotten what that looked like in a live action romantic pairing, as the romance in st seldom works well on any level. I'm so pleased to learn that they are also involved as executive producers & writers. it SHOWS. so does that budget, damn.

#twd #thoughts about media #I was a glenn fan. if you need further explanation for my abandonment of the show. #twd made a lot of god awful writing choices but that was my final straw. #like it really annoyed me that they'd claim wanting to stay faithful to the comics but only follow that selectively #like there was no point to killing two ppl in that scene. and if anyone should have died. it should have been the one getting the solo show #because in the show- HE fills the role glenn has in the comics. #having rick fall in love with michonne instead of andrea though? best writing choice that show ever made. #genuinely such a good pairing and it saved rick's character imo. #which is wild to say honestly. considering that in stranger things- a romantic relationship is a death knell for that character. #I firmly believe steve was as good of a character as he was because he got the chance to exist outside a romantic relationship. #and why kali feels so interesting and memorable as a character despite her short screen time. #too bad that show is written and run by a troupe of circus clowns.
