headcanon: chiaki gifts hatori a friendship ring when they were still in school. now that they're adults they don't wear their rings, but hatori still keeps his ring in his home. to treasure the first gift given to him by the one he loves the most.
can we all just collectively forget and ignore the first two episodes of junjou romantica.. ESPECIALLY the first one. i'm one for acknowledging the flaws this show has as it's literally my hyper-fixation and has been for many years, but some of the authors choices cross the line unfortunately like many others (especially at the time) with the due fact to what other people have said and using common, moral knowledge.
Onodera Ritsu no Baai - Chapter 7 vs Season 2: Episode 5
Notes:
At the start of the chapter, Takano and Ritsu are wearing completely different outfits from the manga.
Hatori's tie is changed from plain black to striped.
Kisa's outfit is changed from a long sleeve shirt and vest to a jacket.
Ichinose Erika is depicted in her New Years Party outfit (which Ritsu hasn't even seen yet at this point lol, it's in S1E6 for Domestica and S2E7 for Nostalgia)
Isaka's tie changed from striped to plain purple.
Yokozawa's tie changed from black to a light blue.
Takano's jacket is completely different.
When Ritsu brings the mochi nextdoor to Takano, he still has his jacket on in the anime. In the manga, he takes it off before heading over.
In the anime, Ritsu has stripes on his collar in his final outfit, whereas in the manga it's just a single color shirt.
hey! if they were to get married, which of domestica would ask first and how?
HEYY!! so sorry for letting this ask collect dust 😭 this is gonna get super long so buckle up
- i think chiaki would ask! i won't spoil the hatori novels, but let's just say that a certain part of volume 2 supports me on this
- i have a lot of torichia marriage hcs but here are just some of them
- now chiaki is hella creative. i can see him going about this in many different ways
- one of those ways is creating small manga strips, two original characters that go through silly little adventures that all fit together. the last strip ending with a proposal
- (totally not chiaki's favorite memories with hatori throughout their lives nope definitely not.)
- he works on this little manga on his (very little) free time. yes it's super hard to hide, especially because hatori always seems to know. funny how that works
- he actually goes back to his childhood home to find pictures/videos from their childhood
- has to grit his teeth when his mother and sister start asking questions. way too many questions for his liking
- it's all worth it though when he flips through all the picture books, seeing just how long they have been in eachother's lives
- it takes him many months before the comic is complete. during this time, chiaki purchasing a simple ring, because he knows tori likes simple things
- i think chiaki would propose in the winter. no real reason, he'd think it'd be romantic (read: what drawing so many shoujo manga does to an mf)
- chiaki would bust his ass to finish his manuscript so that he will have free time for the both of them. he would then take tori out to their childhood homes
- chiaki is nervous as all hell, they've been together for years at that point but he keeps wondering if he did too much. did he not do enough? would tori find this ridiculous?
- but when they sit at a park and tori reads through the contents, all those worries melt away when he sees him smiling
- when he finishes reading the final panel, he turns to chiaki with a knowing look on his face. chiaki would get out the ring with sheepish look on his face
- seeing his normally stoic lover with a look of pure and unadulterated joy on his face when chiaki put the ring on his finger is something he'll remember for the rest of his life
i could go on, but this is all i got lmao. love these two
