Cast announced for "The Other Boleyn Girl" stage adaptation

The show features in Chichester Festival Theatre’s new season

As part of its upcoming 2024 season, Chichester Festival Theatre will present The Other Boleyn Girl, adapted by Mike Poulton from Philippa Gregory’s novel.

Gregory’s novel is set against the backdrop of Henry VIII’s court, where Mary Boleyn finds herself entangled in her family’s quest for power as Henry’s mistress, while her uncle schemes to place her on the throne amid Queen Katherine of Aragon’s inability to produce a male heir. However, Henry’s attention shifts to Mary’s sister, Anne.

The cast includes Jacob Ifan as William Carey, Kemi-Bo Jacobs as Queen Katherine, Alex Kingston as Lady Elizabeth, Peter Losasso as Francis Weston, Freya Mavor as Anne Boleyn, Lily Nichol as Jane Parker, Lucy Phelps as Mary Boleyn, and Andrew Woodall as the Duke of Norfolk. Chris Green and Sarah Harrison provide musical accompaniment.

Directed by Lucy Bailey, it runs from 19 April to 11 May at the Festival Theatre. Joanna Parker serves as the designer, with Chris Davey handling lighting design, Orlando Gough composing the music, Beth Duke managing sound design, Dick Straker overseeing video design, and Ayse Tashkiran as movement director. Susanna Peretz takes charge of wigs, hair & make-up, and Ginny Schiller CDG handles casting.

New York Films Head to Park City for Sundance Film Festival

Nineteen films and two pilots that participated in the New York State Film Tax Credit Program will be screened next month at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Since 1985, hundreds of films launched at Sundance—one of the world’s largest film festivals—have gained critical recognition, received commercial distribution and reached global audiences eager for fresh perspectives and new voices. Films that shoot or do post-production work in New York have traditionally been well-represented at Sundance, set for Jan. 18-28 in Park City, Utah. In addition to their Sundance recognition, this year’s crop of New York films also had an impressive economic impact while they were in production and post production, spending an estimated $38 million in New York and creating an estimated 2,448 hires.

New York’s incentive program, designed to strengthen the state’s film production and post-production industries, is one of the main reasons filmmakers choose to film here. Houston King, producer of Hearts Beat Loud, which will premiere at Sundance, offered an example. "From the inception of Hearts Beat Loud, we wanted to highlight one of our favorite NYC neighborhoods - Red Hook, Brooklyn. Without New York State’s incentive we very likely would have been forced to shoot the film in another state and changed the location of our story,” King said. “The incentive was key to giving our investors comfort that shooting in NYC was the right thing for their investment and the film."

HBO has dated it’s Spielberg documentary:

One of the most famous filmmakers in the world, Steven Spielberg pulls back the curtain on his remarkable career more than ever before in the exclusive HBO presentation SPIELBERG. The feature-length documentary examines Spielberg’s filmography in depth, revealing how his experiences fed his work and changed it over time. Directed and produced by award-winning documentarian Susan Lacy, this unprecedented chronicle debuts SATURDAY, OCT. 7, exclusively on HBO.

The documentary will also be available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand and affiliate portals.

Steven Spielberg has built an unrivaled catalogue of groundbreaking films over the course of his nearly 50-year career. Charting the evolution of this iconic figure, Lacy draws on nearly 30 hours of exclusive interviews with the director, who opens up about his bittersweet childhood and lifelong obsession with moviemaking, his precocious early work as a TV “wunderkind,” his rise to fame through an incredible string of blockbusters, his later forays into more serious dramatic films, and the personal and professional relationships he’s cultivated through the years.

Today On Campbell Street Introduction Post

Today On Campbell Street is a Camp Camp paranormal/supernatural AU created by @rotomartsblog

The story takes place in 2005 on Campbell Street in the town of Sleepy Peak, which is infamous for its urban legends of the supernatural and paranormal. The story stars Harrison Peretz and Nerris Cute as they investigate the disappearance of Harrison’s twin brother. However, the two soon discover that the town they live in has a dark history behind it and that the lives of every citizen in the town are endangered.

This story will feature dark and heavy themes. While the art is in greyscale and gore will not be heavily detailed, it is strongly advised that you don’t read if you are sensitive to any of the following (All of which feature children and/or animals):

- Period-typical attitudes towards gender, sexuality, race, religion, disabilities, etc. (Mild and not focused on, but is present)

- Religious discrimination (Never physically enforced but verbally said)

- Cults

- Human experiments

- Physical, verbal, and emotional abuse

- Gore that is mostly hidden or censored except for certain parts (which will be warned about)

- Forced, accidental, and deliberate cannibalism (ranging from consuming blood to actually eating organs)

- Body mutilations and modifications

- Deaths ranging in intensity

Of course, this being a Camp Camp AU, there will be explicit and inappropriate language, though it doesn’t feature heavily

This blog itself is currently being set up. There is no update schedule and there may be long gaps as this blog and story is all run by one person. The story will be told in a written form with accompanying artwork.
