WIP INTRO: Black Forrest Cake

I am finally handing over BFC's WIP intro! It has been a long time since I have been able to properly make a post. My laptop died on me, and I just recently got a new one! Whether or not you care, you know now.

Synopsis: Front worker Rosemarie and dishwasher Simon find out the owners of Good Intentions aren't all that good.

Setting: someplace in Illinois

Almonds hide the taste of cyanide; this fact Rosemarie will always remember as she places a cookie on the porcelain plate, a single almond half placed carefully in its center. In front of her stands a mother with her child, bags bruising her under eye, a strange compliment to the blue veins beneath her translucent lids and olivine eyes. She already has a mug of coffee at her table—black, but Rosemarie watched her empty three tan packets of brown sugar into her cup.

i'm not much of a writer lmao but here they are in random order:

- started writing this wip back in june 2020; was supposed to be a hanahaki au, managed to write a draft until chapter 4 but i got so lost with it. it's a fave because this was the first work i've tried writing in a linear manner, with an outline and a plan (i'm more of a pantser) and went all out with descriptive writing. i was so happy with the feedback when i posted it. hopefully i can get back to it and rewrite 🌟

- my first tomarry fic lmao; the amount of hits and kudos christ sdgasd i did not expect it at all??? i always reread this and try to remember like, wow there's something in here people like??? so whenever i end up with a new wip/idea i look at this fic and remind myself “you did great before!!! you’ll do well!!” while also lowkey suffering from too many ideas he he ehhe

- this fic was probably my first fluff??? fic?? idk i dont remember anymore. i wrote this back in 2017 while i was (procrastinating) studying for board exams lmao. this was practice for dialogue and i’m pretty happy about it?? my goal was to practice transition from one character to another and idk i think it kinda worked ashgdhasd

i remember printing out fic chapters from a couple of other snk fics, highlighting sections and lines of dialogue i really admire and loved!! and said i should try that

- writing this fic was...something...an experience...this was the first fic i ever had a beta? ??? (actually seagate didnt need to look this over but she did) and let me tell u like, i learned a lot ashdgasj i’ve never had someone look over my writing while im still writing it, and giving suggestions and pointing things out. this wouldnt come out as it is without help lmao. i would write a sentence and seagate would make it flow better; i translate my thoughts and seagate made sure it isnt whack (english is not my first language), checked that my tenses isn’t all over the place, that i dont get lost with characterization etc

would i get a beta again? probably. i’ll make sure to finish a draft first before letting them look it over 😄

- this is all my fluff powers!!! all of it!!!! i love the comments in this fic!!! instant smile on my face!! im just assuming the people who read this just went uwu and somft and squish 🤣

but also lmao, this fic was stressful to write! i remember struggling to finish this since this fic was pure “pantser“ fic. there is so much to improve on this one; i don’t think it’s my best writing but also not the worst??? idk it’s a so-so for me but im happy that people like it, so thank you!!!
