My Demon Slayer Ace Attorney AU ⚖

Tanjiro - After the murder of his family swore to become a detective in hopes of finding the killer and bringing some amount of comfort to Nezuko

Nezuko- Murder witness at age 14 but has since been in silence dew to the trauma, aids her brother on him journey to find their family's killer

Zenitsu - Hopelessly in love with nezuko and was accused of the murder for his past partner, however after tanjiro proved his innocence he's been his friend since

Inoske - an orphan who's mother was murdered, and former gang member is now working hard to try and get himself a better life and solve cases that gone cold. working on becoming a detective

Kanao - Witness to a crime and love interest of Tanjiro, was supposed to testify in court but was found dead later. however left a written statment in her bag knowing it would happen.

Aoi - Sister of Kanao and also Liked tanjiro, however keeping her distance out of respect for her sister. is a medium in training to Shinobu

Shinobu - Sister to Kanae and Accused of her sisters murder, Is a spirit medium and after being proven innocent brings comfort to nezuko letting her know her family is doing okay in the next life

Kanae - Lawer and Sister of Shinobu. runs the 'Kocho law office' and had never lost a case. was originally going to be a spirit medium but after her mother was brought into controversy for putting a innocent man behind bars decided to switch careers. loved her job and maintained a close connection to her family till her death

Sumi, Kiyo and Naho - Adopted sisters of Aoi, Kanao and the Kocho sisters. go to a school not far from the law office and make baked goods for many of the people who go there, a fact that will be brought up in one case in particular

Sanemi - A close friend of Kanae and secretly held feelings for her, planed on confessing the day she was murdered. has close ties with the kocho family and runs his own law office 'Shinazagawa brothers Law firm.' Checks in on Shinobu and promised to help her in defending her

Genya - A fellow Jr. detective like Tanjiro. Helped the police with a high-profile murder case and became a celebrity overnight. left kimetsu academy without graduating. Though he see's tanjiro has potential he often says his heart will get in the way one day. the two will team up on a future case

Maruta - An all star honor student at kimetsu academy and often helps tanjiro with his study's while he's on a case, very fond of nezuko and admires tanjiro for his big heart and exciting lifestyle

Ozaki - Maruta's Girlfriend and friend of Nezuko's, Know's sign language and are good friends despite nezuko's inability to communicate.

Iguro - a Lawer who has a tendency to.. take his job a little to seriously and has little to no sympathy for who is involved. all he cares about is bringing those he's convinced is guilty behind bars. came from a family of serial killers and after running away from home and telling the police, the charges were dropped on them dew to lack of evidence and .. persuasion. his mom cut his face into a permanent smile so he will always be a 'happy boy in a happy family.' a year later Shinjuro had a arrest warrant and arrested his parents and ended up adopting Iguro. he's maintained a strong belief on justice since. has a support animal, a snake named Kaburamaru.

Kyojuro - became a Lawer like Iguroo and works hard in protecting people, is senjuro's parental guardian after his father was kill in action. has the same sense of justice as Iguroo but on a softer side thanks to his mother reinforcing the belief that 'the strong are meant to protect the weak.' testifies in court that mitsuri is a good person and would never hurt anyone.

Senjuro - A new student at kimetsu academy and often gets picked on due to his quiet nature. becomes friends with tanjiro and the gang swiftly and often provides insight into topics the group is not aware of or familiar with

Mitsuri - Accused of Murdering her friend and hired Iguro as her defense attorney after hearing things about him and believes he's the one who will prove her innocence along with Tanjiro. Her friend slept with her fiancé so there was damning evidence for her to want to do it however they ended things mutually. her cat mochi is also missing and may or may not be tied to the case.

Geyomi - Accused of murder and is a Buddhist. runs an orphanage and is a cat lover like mitsuri. after hearing of mitsuri's case he Seek's out Tanjiro to investigate and maybe convince Iguro to take his case. offers alot of wisdom to Tanjiro and some other VALUABLE information. looks intimidating but is actually sweet

Tengan - A flashy man accused of the murder of his partner hinatsuru. an upcoming designer and artist in a poly relationship who has shown interest in Kyojuro. has jealous roots with another designer and will lose it if you say his art is 'bland' and 'unethical.' loves his wives equally and would do anything for them.

Makio - Works at kimetsu academy as a cafeteria lady and has a reputation of sneaking spices into bully's food. holds some info on people Hinatsuru had problems with.. including a former partner of Tengan's

Suma - First wife of tengan and a bisexual poly woman. deeply saddened by hina's death and says tengan would never do anything like that

Hinatsuru - Tengan's third wife and murder victim. volunteered at the school Sumi kiyo and Naho go to and was loved by the children.

Muichiro - Murder witness like Nezuko and has severe memory problems however still holds some amount of hurt for his brother's loss. currently lives with his grandfather michkatsu and is slowly starting to remeber details of his brothers murder and the fire of his first home that killed his parents.

Yuichiro - older twin of muichiro and murder victim. had a harsh personality and was very protective of his brother, has stated a few things considered strange days before the murder.

Giyu - Tanjiro's teacher who often reminds him to stay on top of his studies and offers aid where he can since the two siblings live alone. overall a good person and has no alternative motives.

Sabito and Makomo - Giyu's former friends and victims of a cold case murder, inoske is trying to crack this case in order to 1. provide comfort 2. to be taken seriously as a detective. shares what he learns with giyu

Urukodaki - Giyu's mentor and a swordman, also effected by the cold case of Sabito and makomo thinking maybe they are alive somewhere. still in denial.

Jigoro - Parental Guardian of Kaigaku and Zenitsu, still feels guilty for the way kai came out..

Kaigaku - Adoptive brother of zenitsu and has a deep-rooted jealousy of him. joined a gang and is the murderer of zenitsu's ex. jealousy being his motive, frame him zenitsu is out of his life for good. the two have never spoken again and Jigoro disowned him.

Rui - Family was accused of murder and in under custody of Geyomi (before his trail). once he opens up he hold valuable info about them owing money to somebody who could be tied to Tanjiro's family murder.

Keguya - A court judge often involved in these cases

Enmu - a Pathologist who has a strange a morbid curiosity who often performs autopsies on most of the victims.. he also has a strange obsession with trains to a somewhat unsettling degree.

Gyoko - a phycologist who is working with muichiro on hopefully moving on and forgetting about the loss of his family. he often state how memory can be a source of pain and that unproductive ones should be put to rest, he also indirectly stated how it was possible Muichiro caused the fire and made him believe maybe it was him. when tanjiro looks into his past she is.. not exactly what he says he is

Kotetsu - Adopted son of Kozo and Hagnezuka, friend of senjuro and Muichiro. though the youngest of the group he makes up for it in his firm and hard-hitting spirit.

Kozo - Schools home economics teacher and husband Haganezuka

Haganezuka - Schools janitor/Repair man and gets mad at tanjiro often dew to his somewhat clumsy nature causing things to break

The Trick-or-Treat Monster

Happy Halloween everyone! This last one ended up being longer than the others since I wanted to do something a little more for the actual day! I switched this prompt for today too because I thought it would be appropriately themed, so I hope you all enjoy the final day of Tickletober: Trick or Treat!

Series: Ace Attorney

Characters: Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey, Pearl Fey, Miles Edgeworth, Detective Gumshoe

Summary: Pearl and Maya introduce the Trick-or-Treat Monster to the others, resulting in a playful game between all of them. Enjoy!

“Alright Nick! We’re ready!” Maya jumps into view from behind the door frame of the office and gestures her hands towards the hallway. “You’re on Pearl!”

On command, her little cousin Pearl jumps into view, all dressed up in a green monster outfit with an attached hoodie over her head, where the monster's built-in fabric face resides. “Roar!” She holds her arms near her head, her fingers outstretched like tiny claws.

“Hey, your monster costume looks great, Pearls!” Phoenix leans off the front of his desk. Edgeworth and Gumshoe stand beside him, all of them here at the Wright office to celebrate the spooky holiday with each other.

“Not just any monster, Nick!” Maya corrects him, “It’s the Trick-or-Treat Monster!”

Phoenix smiles at them with an inquisitive look. “The Trick-or-Treat Monster?”

“A monster that only comes out on Halloween night to take candy and play tricks on people!” Pearl explains. “Mystic Maya helped me make it up!”

Phoenix chuckles at their creative thinking. He then holds his hands out as if to defend himself. “Ahhh! The Trick or Treat Monster is out and about! Run!” Phoenix jokingly says and jogs away from them. Maya and Pearl giggle at Phoenix’s silly demeanor and decide to join him in this little charade.

“Let’s get him, Pearl!” Maya turns to her little cousin and the two take off towards the lawyer.

Gumshoe laughs while he sees the three chase each other around the office. “It seems that they’re having fun, huh Mr. Edgeworth?” the detective turns to the prosecutor.

Edgeworth crosses his arms. “Yes, well I hope they don’t trip over anything and hurt themselves during these antics."

While the two watch from the desk, Maya and Pearl catch up to Phoenix and pounce on him, knocking all three of them to the ground and causing the girls to pile on top of his stomach. Edgeworth facepalms at their rough housing while Gumshoe chuckles beside him.

The three on the floor giggle at one another from their game. “Oh no,” Phoenix acts all dramatic, and a little winded, from their chase, “The monster’s got me!”

“Quick Pearl! Don’t let him get away!” Maya suddenly exclaims. Before he knows it, Maya shoots her hands towards his ribs and starts tickling him, with Pearl following her cousin's lead right after.

“Hehehey!!! Wahahait a minute!” Phoenix immediately starts giggling and tries to scoot backwards from the two girls, who took him completely by surprise with their addition to the game.

“We forgot to tell you, Mr. Nick!” Pearl exclaims, “The Trick-or-Treat Monster is also part tickle monster!”

“Ohoho yeheheah? Wehehell how about this!” Phoenix quickly sits up and captures Pearl in his arms, swiftly placing her in his lap and wiggling his fingers into the girl’s sides.

“Eep! Hehehe! Mr. Nihihihick!” Pearl lets out an adorable squeak with high pitched giggles as she tries to squirm her way out of the lawyer’s unexpected tickle attack.

“Don’t worry Pearl! I’ll save you!” Maya says and jumps behind onto Phoenix’s back to tickle his neck and sides. The lawyer immediately releases Pearl in order to protect his own ticklish spots, allowing the younger girl to quickly recover and join her cousin for their counter attack. Phoenix wriggles around in his spot, but he knows that he’ll need assistance to escape the clutches of this playful monster now.

“Dehehetective Gumshohohoe! Hehehehelp!” Phoenix exclaims through his giggles while the girls are still on the attack.

“I’m on it, Pal!” Gumshoe says enthusiastically while Edgeworth simply rolls his eyes at the entire situation. The detective dashes over to the scene and tries to sneak behind Maya.

“No you don’t Detective Gumshoe!” Maya quickly turns around and attacks the detective instead, wiggling her fingers into his sides. Gumshoe yelps and wraps his arms around himself as he’s now reduced into giggles. “Pearl! The monster has another target!” Maya exclaims over her shoulder.

The younger girl leaves the lawyer to rest, then runs over to the other side of the detective to join her cousin on the offensive again.

“Nohohow the mohohonster’s gohohot mehehe!” Gumshoe tries to fold himself over to defend himself. Edgeworth once again rolls his eyes at the shenanigans, yet still continues to be an observer as this chaos ensues.

Once Phoenix recovers from his previous attack, he jumps in again to help out Gumshoe. “Your turn, Maya!” Phoenix playfully wraps his arms around the older spirit medium, causing her to let out a lighthearted scream, and brings her down to the ground. Maya wriggles her way out of the lawyer’s hold and attempts to crawl away, but Phoenix scribbles his fingers into her sides before she can escape.

“AH! Nihihihick! Hahaha!” Maya squeezes her arms to her sides and squirms around on her stomach.

“Mystic Maya! Eek!” Pearl tries to help her cousin, but she's captured by Gumshoe when his big arms wrap around her in a hug.

“I’ve got the little monster, Mr. Wright!” Gumshoe smiles and gently scribbles his fingers into the girl’s sides. Pearl squeaks again and slides down to the floor as she squirms around in the detective’s hold. She twists around and flops onto her back, while Gumshoe kneels down to scribble a hand into her tummy. Pearl playfully tries to pull his hand away, but the fearsome Trick-or-Treat monster is no match for the new pair of tickle monsters.

“Do the Trick-or Treat monsters yield?” Phoenix teases Maya to make her give in.

“Yehehehes! Yes! Yohohou win!”

With that, Phoenix and Gumshoe pull their hands away to allow the two girls to rest. Maya rolls over onto her back to catch her breath.

“Okay…the Trick-or-Treat monster had their fun. No more chaos,” Maya says winded.

Phoenix glances over at Edgeworth, who's simply been standing near the desk with his arms crossed the entire time.

“Actually…I think the Trick-or-Treat monster has one more target,” the lawyer looks at the prosecutor with a smirk. Phoenix teasingly wiggles his fingers in the air and slowly approaches the prosecutor like he was a monster sneaking up on prey. Edgeworth's eyes go wide when he realizes what Phoenix was implying.

“N-No!” Edgeworth backs into the desk, “Don't you dare!”

The two girls perk their heads up and smile at one another, then get up off the ground to join Phoenix for one more attack. The prosecutor panics once he sees the three approaching closer. In order to escape, he bolts towards the front of the office. Unknown to him, Gumshoe decided that he was part of the Trick-or-Treat Monster’s team now too.

“I’ve got him!” the detective lunges forward to catch the fleeing prosecutor in his arms. Edgworth desperately tries to squirm away, but his eyes go wide again when he sees Phoenix, Maya, and Pearl run over.

“Wait! Don’t—GAH!” Edgeworth yelps and closes his mouth shut with a wobbly smile when the three start wiggling their fingers into his torso. As much as he attempts to hold in his childish giggles, his laughter soon starts to spill out for everyone to hear. He crumbles to the ground and the four follow him down with a chuckle, all enjoying their Halloween celebration together thanks to the playfulness of the Trick-or-Treat Monster.

I strongly appreciate how Athena's leitmotif evolves throughout AA5 and a little in AA6. Get comfy, this is another long one.

- Intro

Plays briefly in the intro cutscene for AA5 and is the first time we hear the leitmotif. It's bouncy, upbeat, and has a bit of sparkle to it to present Athena with enthusiasm and positivity (before comically cutting to silence followed by lower, goofy piano notes when she falls down the stairs). We'll see more of this energy in Let's Do This, but this is a nice intro to her eagerness and inexperience.

- Depths of the Depths of the Heart (Yep, that's what it's called...)

A brief glimpse into a more sombre and disturbing part of Athena's pysche. We're still in first-impressions territory, so this part of Athena's arc is crucial to establish. The song from the intro is now slower and stripped of it's positivity. Just as brief, but clearly different and quite unsettling. I appreciate it sounding like a music-box - an innocent object associated with childhood. Whatever happened, it was somewhere deep in her past, but we aren't offered much more for context than this distressing moment for now.

- Let's Do This!

An expansion on the upbeat tune we heard in the intro and effectively her main theme, so to speak. This is just how Athena is 80% of the time - energetic, upbeat and a little daft. This theme is the only one that persists unaltered along with her Mood Matrix tracks in AA6, so it's fair to call this her baseline. The surface-level Athena we see day-to-day and the kind, caring soul underneath is front-and-centre here. Prepare for that positive association to be used against you.

- Athena Will Be Your Defense

Another slower version that plays when she takes on the actual murder case in Turnabout Academy. I have plenty of feelings with this one; there's a sense of resignation here, but also some resolve to do the damndest despite that. As if to say "I am in no way prepared to handle this... but I'll do what I can." Considering Juniper's life is on the line here, it's a pretty heavy feeling to have and a solid turn-around of the lack of experience that previously made her come off as comically silly into a sense of dread at what may come to pass if Athena can't measure up.

- Courtroom Revolutionnaire

We've seen the leitmotif in a positive light before, but this is the first time we see some genuine fire behind the music - her Objection! theme. Generally, objections are a celebrated moment in Ace Attorney, and seeing the rookie find her footing is definitely worthy of that. It's still a little quieter than Phoenix's or Apollo's objections - there's that "I'm still new to this" feeling again - but being under more pressure for longer, it feels just as big as them. Even moreso that the last time we heard her leitmotif was fairly sombre.

- A Tragic Memory

If the song from the brief flashback (which I refuse to call by name again) was a glimpse, Tragic Memory is the full and proper look into Athena's trauma (albiet through her muddled point of view). The sheer misery and guilt this character has been through under the surface, perhaps since childhood, is brought to the forefront here and it is gut-wrenching to hear in musical format alone. I'm a sucker for leitmotifs that can take on a wide variety of contrasting emotions, so turning this normally upbeat song into something so melodramatic and upsetting makes this one a personal favourite of mine (even if it does make me want to cry). We've seen her happy & confident before now through Let's Do This! and Revolutionnaire, so the contrast works wonders to make this song hit all the harder.

- Courtroom Revolutionnaire: Revengance

The final 'thena track at the time of writing. And what a god damn revolution it is, taking the 2013 version and turning the bravado up to 110%. This is an Athena who's moving past the inexperience and trauma she had in AA5 and the confidence this theme exudes is so strong, I'm honestly shocked this isn't a Pursuit theme! I might not be the biggest fan of her use in AA6, but on its own merits? This track is a fantastic payoff for her tribulations in the prior game. All that weight is lifted right off, and we get to see Athena in the same light as we would Phoenix or Apollo when they got the upper-hand - with a wide smile and a hearty "OBJECTION!"

Collectively, these songs inform a story of a young lawyer working through her uglier emotions towards a stronger, more grounded person ready to take on whatever the world throws at them. Starting with the surface of a goofy but enthusiastic person, gradually but surely dragging out all the emotional noise that consumed them - confusion, anxiety, anguish - and eventually resolving it, ending with a song of pure truimph and resolve.

I love leitmotifs when they're handled well - my enjoyment of Toby Fox's music should make that apparent - and this is a solid one in my books. A good leitmotif can tell a story all on its own as it changes along with the emotional beats of the narrative. At worst, they just restate emotions we've already felt where it really doesn't fit at all.

I think Athena's theme is a good leitmotif.

TOA Anniversary Munday!

Name: Pat Gem! Patrick is the full name but Pat is what I go by most often in this group.

Birthday (no year): September 15! Same as my beloved kitty Cassie.

Where are you from? What is your time zone?: I'm from California, PST! I was born in the Bay Area, moved to Alabama where I spent ten years as a kid, and moved back to California. That's the truncated version.

Roleplay experience: I started roleplaying on the Warrior Cats Forums in like...2010, I think? I also did private Skype rps with my best friend at the time. This lasted for 3-4 years until both fizzled out around the same time. I have some experience doing group nuzlocke rp on the nuzforums, but that also didn't last as long as I'd like. Other than some ttrpgs, I had a dry spell, and in 2019 I joined a Friends at the Table tumblr RP that would change my life. There I met Maddie and some other friends, and while the rp wasn't super active after I joined it, Maddie and I started doing rp ourselves! Finally, in late 2021, Lucius invited Maddie to TOA and I also got the invite and tagged along.

Got any pets?: Yep! Cassie and Oreo, my beloveds! Both cats, Cassie is the one with a hairdo and she's almost 4, Oreo's a year and a half and a tuxy baby.

Favorite time of year: I love when it is nice and cool but not too cold. Fall is my favorite season, personally, but really I especially enjoy not sweating to death.

Some interests and things you like: I'm a huge Pokemon fan, which I'll elaborate on later. Here though I'll say that I have a huge interest in competitive Pokemon, both singles and the official VGC circuit. I'm a big TTRPG guy! I have a lot of systems and games I like but I'll single out Fall of Magic, Jenna Moran games, the Forged in the Dark system, the Belonging Outside Belonging system, and It's Been A Long Long Time! I have an interest in speedrunning, I watch a lot of videos about it and it's fun. I love Discworld, the Terry Pratchett series. Tales of Vesperia is a game of all time. Yuri Lowell your problems disorders. Ace Attorney helped mold me as a person. Warrior cats will forever live in my heart. Bionicle also helped make me the guy I am today. 999 is a visual novel of all time. Play it and do not look it up. I actually have a huge interest in media analysis, it's something I really really enjoy talking about and researching. Splatoon my beloved. Octopath Traveler 1 and 2! I love birds and bats and lots of animals! Okay I'm running out of steam and also this is very long so I'll just stop here but there's definitely things I am forgetting.

Some funfacts & trivia about you: - I'm a library and women's and gender studies student, and hope to some day work as a librarian! For now, I'm an afterschool program associate, and I love working with the kids. - I have met Nancy Pelosi while wearing a Pokemon button up. - I've survived a tornado that started above my house. - I have finished 34 nuzlockes. - Marth was one of my first smash mains but I didn't get into Fire Emblem for years. - I have the cilantro soap gene but I like the taste of soap. - I'm physically disabled and use a cane irl! - My girlfriend used to have me blocked on Twitter. - I've made it to playoffs every single Pokemon draft league I've been in but never made it past semifinals - I was very isolated as a kid and rarely left the house. As a result, I learned my vocabulary mostly from books, as well as how I talk and emote from books and shows. I've been told I talk and act like a cartoon character, which I suppose is fair!

What non-Fire Emblem games do you play?: I play a bunch of Splatoon, probably one of the main games I play! It's very fun, and I'm a Sploosh/Custom Jr/Tentatek triple threat main who constantly hovers around S. Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 have me grabbed so hard. I am hopelessly a Pokemon guy. I play nuzlockes, casually, and competitively, and I have almost every single Pokemon and its learnset and viable competitive learnsets memorized. I am very normal about it. I also really love the Zero Escape series. I've been playing the warrior cats procgen sim ClanGen recently. I used to play a bunch of No Man's Sky, want to get back into that soon. Honestly I struggle to consistently play and finish games, and I've been trying to work on that.

Favorite Pokemon type & Pokemon: Bug; Flygon. Yes, you can combine these two to get the logical conclusion: Flygon should have been a Bug/Dragon type! It's based off the life cycle of a lacewing!!

How did you get into Fire Emblem?: I've got two stories here, one of how I almost got into Fire Emblem and how it got on my radar, and the other being how I finally got into it for real. So, in 9th grade, I had a crush on a boy who played Awakening at lunch every day. I'd talk with him and he actually offered to buy me Awakening, but I, one of the only poor kids in a rich school, was flabbergasted he would spent 40 dollars on me and felt guilty and was like are you sure? And he was like well okay if you don't want me to. I kind of wish I'd taken him up on the offer because he sucked as a person and his family was super rich but oh well. I then played the hell out of the demo. Flash forward to 2019. I'm scrolling twitter and see a friend of mine is streaming Fire Emblem Three Houses. I've seen it before, and it seems pretty fun. A lot of my friends like Fire Emblem. I watch the stream and fall in love with the characters and style of the game, and I impulse buy Three Houses. I then tell Maddie and sell them on Three Houses. Thus, it begun...

What Fire Emblem games have you played?: This is a fun and complicated question for me to answer because if you count me backseating Maddie, it's some of fe4, most of fe7, fe8, fe9, fe10, over half of fe13, some fe14, fe15, and fe16. If it's just me, that shrinks down to some fe7 and fe8, some fe9, over half of fe13, some fe15, and some fe16. I was an active participant in watching the games so it feels like a smidgen of playing them but not quite?

First Fire Emblem game: Either the Awakening demo or Three Houses.

Favorite Fire Emblem game: Shadows of Valentia, Sacred Stones, and the Tellius duology. Hard to specify a single favorite, especially depending on what we are defining favorite as.

Any Fire Emblem crushes? 😳 : Where do I begin. I mean Lukas is like, perhaps one of my strongest ones. Though I'm also smitten with Forsyth and attracted to Python despite him being terrible boyfriend material. Recently I have been making eyes at Legault in Blazing Blade, and also playing Fates for the first time had me really surprised at how much Setsuna charmed me. Uhhh lemme think also. Christ Kent your problems disorders bewitch me. Claude you are my everything I will do anything for you. Shamir also if we are talking 3h, what a gal. Ranulf my beloved, he's got things together and he's playful and teasing and just has a great personality. Also Titania...pretty and strong and cool and just a fantastic character who I would not object to kissing on the mouth. I think i might stop here because if I keep going I am going to just take you on a tour of my numerous Fire Emblem crush tastes.

If you’ve played the following games, who was your first S support? Who would you S support nowadays? - Awakening: Panne; I'd also S support Libra or Say'ri. I need to mention that my first awakening playthrough was in 2020 though so if I'd gotten it in 2013 like I almost did I'd probably have gotten married to like...Libra if I waited that long, Chrom if I messed up and got automarried, or like. Stahl or something bc he's really nice and a knight. - Fates: I have not S supported anyone in Fates yet but Setsuna and Silas I am Looking. - Three Houses: I actually never have S supported anyone in Three Houses, as I never actually finished my personal playthrough! However, my big choices are Shamir and Claude, though w the latter I just pretend that's me bc I don't do teacher/student. - Engage: Not enough experience to say who I might S support. Will get back to you.

Favorite Fire Emblem class: Do laguz/taguel/manakete count. I'm also weak for archers I shan't lie.

If you were a Fire Emblem character, what would be your class?: Oh I know I'd be one of those frail little mages who has explosive firepower and waning physical ability. Honestly being that but on a wyvern would be fun. My good friend my mobility wyvern.

If you were a Three Houses character, what would be your affiliation?: Golden Deer 4ever baybee not even close.

If you were an Engage character, which Emblem would you Engage with?: I'll get back to this, I'm not sure if I have the info I need to make an informed choice. My first thought is that I would love to have Ike chilling with me though, Ike my good friend Ike.

How did you find TOA?: Lucius invited Maddie, and Maddie invited me! I was roleplaying Forsyth with Maddie's Python 1on1 at the time and the idea of a group RP was very appealing to me, despite me being swamped with work and school and health issues at the time. I'm so glad I made the leap!

Current TOA muses: Forsyth and Leanne!

Who was your first TOA muse? If you don’t have them anymore, could you see yourself picking them up again?: Forsyth! I don't see myself dropping him unless his narrative here is done, really.

Have you had any other TOA muses?: Oh Ranulf...I had a very fun time with him, but I just was not in the state to handle three muses and having two muses has been much more manageable, so he's probably not coming back for a while.

Do you think you have a type of character you gravitate towards?: I tend to write very earnest characters, especially in a group RP setting. I've pushed my comfort zone before, but characters who express themselves very openly and intensely are my bread and butter. Characters who wear their hearts on their sleeves, for better or worse.

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most?: Hard to say, but honestly I really enjoy writing relationships, and the ways in which they shift and change over time. I really like character-focused writing the most, emotions and thoughts and such, and exploring the connections between characters! This feels like a silly answer, but it's what I'm feeling!

Favorite TOA-related memory: Oh man this is a hard one. Hard to choose so I'll just pick one that came to mind which is Leanne and Vaida's bizarre adventure in Queen's Compass. What a good event that was, blows a kiss to the sky for Zyra. I'm also a huge fan of everything involving Forsyth's Jugdral meddling and the narrative impact of his deaths in KKE. There are so many funny little experiences and memories that stick with me forever, really.

How do you pronounce TOA? 🤔: Tee-oh-ay! Pronouncing it as a word is the same as Toa from Bionicle and to keep them distinct in my mind I sound it out.

Got any delusions that didn’t see the light of day that you’d like to share? 😉: The world if I could handle three muses...Legault scratching at my door. Ranulf also scratching at my door. Blows a kiss to the guys I would enjoy playing but don't have the time and energy for.

Happy holidays and end of 2022 to all my digipals!

Some life and project updates under the cut

First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who welcomed me back to this blog this past spring. I had never truly left, but posting here regularly again after all these years made me really happy. Getting to meet talented content creators and amazing fans and celebrating digiweek and character weeks— it’s been so much fun and I love all of you!! You’ve also been so supportive through my forays into shipping Daikeru, so thank you for that 😄

Secondly, thank you to everyone who has been patient after sending in asks and headcanons requests. The month of December has been hard for me focus-wise. A little behind the scenes about me: I spent every single month from July 2020 to November 2022 writing an average of 20,000 words of fanfic per month (about 2/3 of that was for Ace Attorney and 1/3 was Digimon). When I decided to take December 2022 off from writing, my brain kind of shut down, and I haven’t been able to focus on making headcanons or roleplaying or any of the other things I wanted to do this month. I hope January 2023, along with Camp Digimonth, helps refresh things a little.

That being said, I’m planning on spending January working on my English dub BGM project as well as my Ken Week posts. Hopefully by February I will be mentally refreshed enough to write my Daikeru Day fic (and update “Somewhere Only We Know” if I’m really feeling inspired!) I also have that Daisuke/Michael fic on the back burner, but I want to make it a reality.

Anyway, I can’t wait to see what Digimon projects I get up to in 2023, but more importantly, I can’t wait to see what everyone else shares and reblogs with the fandom too 💖

[It was a brand new day, with the same bs as always. However, that wasn't the case this time, for today was the brilliant Kisouna's birthday and lawyers from all around Ueno had an excuse to take a little break from their jobs just to celebrate the special moment.

Her office was silent, the only noise coming from the outside cars that passed by every now and then. But something stood out of everything else, a smaller, rectangular gift with a note on top of it. The box contained a videogame, 'The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles'

--while as for the note, it read:]

'Happy Birthday, Kisouna. I'm sorry I wasn't able to hand this to you in person, but I currently have to deliver another present for someone else (which considering who they are, it'll most likely take me a little while longer.)

Anyways, I haven't played this yet, but a few of my friends said it is one of, if not the best, games in the series, so despite any possible inaccuracies, you might enjoy the absurdness of it as a whole. Once again, happy birthday and my best wishes to both you and your daughter.'

[The piece of paper was not signed, but the footage of the security cameras (along with a certain bodybuilder in Aoyama) can give you an answer on who the messenger was.]

Though she really didn't see the point, Kisouna was instructed by her friends and co-workers to take the day off just once for her birthday.

'You're only '30' once!'

'Go enjoy yourself, for once!'

'Spend time with your daughter!'

She heard these and many other similar remarks today from her fellow associates. Knowing it'd do no good to argue, she decided to cut her workday in half, figuring she'd leave around noonish. She truthfully didn't know why her co-workers were so insistent she take a day off. She wasn't exactly amicable with many of them. In fact, more than a few harbored ill feelings toward the prosecuting attorney.

So imagine her surprise when she came back to her office one last time to find a small rectangular-shaped box on her desk. Curiosity getting the better of her, she opened it and her eyes grew wide as she discovered what was inside.

"What the...?"

Two hours later...

-- Yuzairu Residence --

"I'd still like to know who in their right mind would send you, of all people, a video game?"

That was the question the Sakurai Clan leader, Aranai Norikoru, asked as she was busy setting up a Nintendo Switch in the Yuzairu living room, connecting it to their T.V. After informing her teammates of her gift, Aranai was the only one who came over, as Shisuta had little to no knowledge at all about technology or any of its functions. Luckily, Aranai had a console she rarely used and was happy to give up.

"That's exactly what I'd like to know," Kisouna answered, frowning with her arms crossed as she watched the SC leader work. After receiving her "present", the prosecuting attorney contemplated either giving it away or selling it. It was only after one of her co-workers (who was an avid fan of the game and series) had spotted it in her hand and asked about it did the attorney finally decide to keep it. However, not knowing anything about video games, she was forced to swallow her pride and ask for help from Aranai, who knew more about this sort of thing than she did.

"They could have at least given you a better game to play," Aranai stated, as she continued hooking the console together.

"You've played it?"

"Meh, like one or two chapters. Couldn't really hold my interest, but it may be good for you. It's essentially just your day job."

Aranai finally stood from behind the T.V. as she was finished with her work. Turning the console on, she handed the controller to her "aunt", who looked at it, confused.

"What is that?"

"The controller for the game? You need it to play." Aranai answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"How?" Kisouna asked, still looking at the controller. Sighing, the SC leader took the older woman's hand and placed the controller in it.

"Look, it's like a holding remote control. You just do this..."

An hour later...

"And that moves the pointer around so you can click things. Got it?"

"I... think so..." Kisouna stated, as she tried following the younger woman's instructions.

"Good," Aranai stated, before turning around. "I've got to get going. But keep at it for a couple of hours, and it should be clear."

With that, the former Bōsōzoku left the attorney alone as the woman stood there, still contemplating what she was doing...

A day later...

-- The Art of Law, Ueno Division --

In her office, Kisouna was busy typing away on her computer, which was obscured from everyone's view, except hers. A determined look was upon her face as her fingers hit each and every key on the keyboard with precision, never slowing down or missing a beat. Outside of her office, two of her co-workers silently absorbed her.

"Kisouna's back hard at work, isn't she?"

"Yup. It was rare to not see her here late yesterday?"

"You figure she works when she goes home at night?"

"Probably."

Unknown to the workers, however, Kisouna, who had made it halfway through GAAC yesterday (with Aranai's help), was currently in the process of writing a strongly-worded letter to SEGA on the flaws of the game, and how it did not imitate the exact life of an attorney at all.

Let it never be said that Kisouna Yuzairu is not dedicated to her job...

OH no. We're about to have the Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice problem.

Because we're talkin' rakugo.

And particularly bad rakugo, at that. (Although not gonna lie, theatres are great places to sleep...) This older guy doesn't have any apprentices left because all of them, mostly his star pupil Iwashi, quit and started restaurants instead. And the theatre troop is just on the edge of closing dow-

Oh no.

And it has awards. This guy is getting punched.

Then again, this guy is looking pretty punchable. This is Iwashi. He's had the place open for about 10 days and none of his old celebrity buddies have answered his invites to the new place... except his rakugo master, who he treats. His old nobody coworker has to pay for his though.

Oop, it's not KitKat that's making the first swing, it's old rakugo guy!

But it's not like Iwashi was always a fame-obsessed little bitch. KitKat remembers when he came by 5 years ago, asking for a special treat for his old master.

Y'know it's not like French food is all cheese and butter, but hey, what do I know...

KitKat splits the difference and makes Japanese food in French style, which makes the guy happy.

KitKat is left befuddled! Why is Iwashi, the kind young man who wanted to do something nice for his master, acting like such an asshole? Wait, first he has to talk shit about some other customers that Iwashi is treating like A-listers.

And there's the kicker: Iwashi is defrosting pre-made burgers for customers and only hand-making the food for famous clientele.

So KitKat does some digging. Iwashi got famous, and you know that being famous makes you a... bad chef. Or something.

KitKat's willing to train him to be better, on the master's request. Meanwhile Iwashi's food starts going uneaten at the restaurant; the crew he hired isn't cooking the food the whole way through. Probably because he's out of the shop advertising and schmoozing with other TV celebs.

Aaaand he's about to get himself canceled.

So his crew walks out on him. KitKat comes in and for once doesn't yell at the guy. Just tells him he has to, like, try to make his food taste good and people will eat it. He's gotta remember how to treat people right.

So now it's time for the TRAINING!

... specifically...

You know, if they were bots, I'd be into that kinda job, but it's not lookin' great for Iwashi. It's no wonder he gets a callback from a job offer and tries to bail the first day. Who wouldn't wanna be the host on a travel show instead of a burger chef, right?

The sumos are unhappy.

Monkey D. Luffy-ass lookin' legs. But they tell him not to give up! He's never gonna finish anything if he keeps jumping around- from rakugo to TV star to chef to TV star again- actually no he turns that job down and gets back to massagin'. After ten days, they treat him to dinner.

(Turns out, Iwashi also means "sardine".)

NOW, the training is over! Now that Iwashi the guy has gotten good at handling handfuls of big, hot, raw, hard MEAT-

Okay for reals though he's gotta make him some burgers.

Well, "burgers." Like Japan CALLS it "hamburg steak", but look at the ingredients.

It's meatloaf. This ENTIRE ARC has been about Iwashi turning down a job in broadcast TV going on world tours and eating food to run a meatloaf shop. And all his training was to get him used to handling big amounts of meat.

Which he couldn't have done, obviously, by lifting weights or, like, making lots of bread or anything. NO, it had to be big naked sumo wrestlers who happen to belong to a stable the KitKat is buddies with. Absolutely nothing ulterior going on there.

(Man, I used to do that for my botfriends all the time because it was FUN, not because it'd make me good at meatloaf-) anyway....

And KitKat, remember, is STILL charging people for this. In fact, Iwashi the guy tells him point-blank that he can't keep the shop open because he paid KitKat the last of his cash.

Seemingly out of guilt, KitKat goes and buys him more groceries.

MOUNTAINS OF FISH. FISH MEATLOAF BURGERS.

This is a weird fuckin' manga.

So they make a fish burger! And Iwashi the guy is like "dude there's no way this's gonna sell" and KitKat's like "no trust me dude it's gonna sell" and KitKat hands out some flyers that are like "FISH BURGERS. THEY HEALTHY. COME EAT" and it fuckin' WORKS.

And not only does it work, his old rakugo coworkers, even the ones he treated like shit, come to help out! And the opening is a a big success. KitKat wishes him well and tells him to start prepping the sardines for tomo-

Iwashi: ... okay but THIS one's not my fault. KitKat: It really isn't.

So they ride out to the truck to go pick up all the fish and guess what?!

The guys didn't even put on SHOES and they're out there pickin' up the fish!

I RAN OUT OF PICTURES!!!

So wrappin' up real quick, everybody works together to open the place. Iwashi the guy becomes a good chef and his master is proud of him, the end.

Arc length: 9 issues. No wonder I ran out of pictures!

artem halloween celebration headcanons

Artem’s Costume: Lawyer

artem has never really seen the appeal of halloween. he never celebrated it as a child, and he doesn’t quite see why people like dressing up so much. it just seems like a lot of effort.

celestine, however, LOVES halloween. every year, she hosts a halloween party in the firm, and there are even prizes to win for the Best Dressed and Runner Ups! obviously, artem has never put in effort to dressing up, so celestine usually puts him on photographer duty at the photo booth.

this year, however, he’s feeling regretful when he doesn’t dress up. because you dressed up. you’re dressed as cinderella to match with kiki, who’s dressed as snow white. two d*sney princesses falling over each other in laughter at the photo booth as you hold up the crown and magic wand props.

“hi mr wing!” you say brightly, a little dizzy from laughing so hard. “what are you dressed up as?”

artem feels ashamed to say he didn’t dress up. it’s quite clear he didn’t, because he’s still in his suit, but he doesn’t want to admit it.

he clears his throat. “have you heard of uh, that law video game?”

you freeze. you’re staring at him in shock, and you don’t respond for a good while until kiki elbows you sharply in the side. “he’s waiting for a response!” she hisses.

you cough, coming to your senses. “uhm, ace attorney? is that the one?”

a faint flush crosses his face. “yes. i dressed up as... a lawyer.”

“your suit color is wrong.” you blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. “phoenix wright wears a navy blue.”

artem stands there, looking appropriately chastised. kiki looks like she would be anywhere else rather than here, so she hides her smile and runs off to get punch.

you’re fortunate there isn’t a queue for the photo booth. maybe, despite all the bonding the office did at the nature retreat, people are still wary of artem. at least this means you two have some time to talk, though this silence is not looking optimistic.

you look down at yourself, the big puffy blue dress that you got for cheap off taobao, and then look back up at artem. “you could be robert,” you say suddenly.

artem blinks. “i... who is robert?”

you shift uneasily. you don’t know why you said that. now you feel embarrassed, but the words just keep flowing out of your mouth and you can’t stop it. “he’s a widowed divorce lawyer.”

he develops a complicated look. you know this isn’t sounding good, but you’re not sure if the next few words will sound good either. “he’s from enchanted. the 2007 movie. do you know it?”

“i haven’t watched it,” artem replies slowly. “i’ll make sure to put it on my watch list.”

“oh,” you say. “okay. because i was going to be giselle, and you can be robert. then we would—” the word gets lodged in your throat.

“then we would match,” you force out in a strangled voice. “because giselle is the princess and robert is—well, he’s not her prince, but he’s the one who succeeds in waking her with true love’s kiss.”

artem pauses. you can see the way the cogs in his head are turning. you’re even certain you see smoke coming out of his ears.

“he’s also dressed exactly like you,” you continue to babble. “suit and tie. sleek black. i’ll find you a picture, hold on—”

“can we take a picture together?” artem asks abruptly. when you look up sharply, his gaze is trained firmly on you, but his cheeks are slightly red. “since we... since we match. matching costumes.”

“i—yeah. yeah, let’s take a picture together to commemorate the day!” you stammer nervously, smoothing out the creases in your skirt. kiki must have been eavesdropping in the corner because she appears right at this moment, declaring she’ll take the picture for the two of you.

“happy halloween,” you murmur under your breath, doing your best not to look at artem as he takes his place next to you. it’s so strange, the way you can physically feel his presence, his closeness to you. you wonder if you’ve ever been this close to him. you wonder if you can somehow inch closer.

artem glances at you, and the smile on his lips is so gentle. “happy halloween.”

you hurriedly turn back to the camera, preparing to pose, but kiki smirks at you. the polaroid is already developed. it’s the two of you looking at each other, robert and giselle, the widowed divorce lawyer and the princess who fell out of a fairytale.

“by chance,” artem whispers quietly. “are you free tonight? after the party, i was thinking of watching that movie you mentioned.”

you’ve never been freer in your life.

It starts off in a usual early morning for Phoenix. But oh, what’s this? You got a present! His eyes would light up!

He doesn’t say it often, but he loves you. And he’s thankful for everything you do. (Especially the present, you can't wipe off his smile for the rest of the day)

Miles Edgeworth

Ever since the incident, Miles doesn’t celebrate Christmas often with friends, let alone a family.

So all of it was a new feeling to him, you giving gifts? What for?

He declines it at first, but he just couldn’t say no to you.

For how can the amazingly observant defence attorney - a man who could spot a liar from nothing more than a nose twitch during a testimony - NOT realise that Klavier Gavin loves him? The other twist: Bring in 7-2 framed person for a character witness, show that they’re innocent. Athena is panicking because of Fear(?) so Apollo is determined to Do Something, and points out how this only happened because the system is Stupid and calls Klavier and Trucy
