Kingo Hamada) https://youtu.be/I49K2N3y9pY #8월호 #생각 #월간윤종신 2020 월간 윤종신 8월호 - 생각 [8월호 이야기] “기분 10 생각 1 이 정도 비율이면 좋겠다.” - 2020 '월간 윤종신' 8월호 ‘생각’은 지난날을 돌아보고 사색하는 시티팝이다. ‘같은 곡, 다른 편곡, 다른 가사’라는 콘셉트로 7월호 ‘기분’과 이어진다. 이 프로젝트의 시작은 하마다 킨고가 보내준 두 가지 버전의 편곡이었다. 하마다 킨고가 윤종신의 취향을 고려해 두 개 중 하나를 고를 수 있도록 작업해준 것이다. 하지만 윤종신은 두 개의 편곡이 보여주는 대조적인 개성에 반해버렸고, 둘 중 어느 한 곡을 고르기보다는 두 곡을 모두 살려서 완성하는 쪽으로 작업의 방향을 틀었다. 왜냐하면 노래를 만드는 과정에 있어서 편곡과 가사가 얼마나 중요하고 결정적인지 잘 보여줄 수 있는 프로젝트가 될 수 있겠다는 생각 때문이었다. 그는 ‘치과에서’와 ‘넌 완성이었어’ 세트처럼 '월간 윤종신' 초창기에 시도했던 음악 실험을 오랜만에 재현해보고 싶었다. “8월호 ‘생각’은 처음 듣자마자 릴랙스 되었어요. 리드 악기가 기타였던 7월호 ‘기분’과 달리 이 곡은 색소폰이 큰 역할을 하는데, 아무래도 호흡의 흐름으로 분위기가 만들어지다 보니 노련하고 원숙한 느낌이 들더라고요. ‘기분’이 ‘레드/선라이즈/낮’ 같은 느낌이었다면, ‘생각’은 ‘블루/선셋/밤’ 같은 느낌이랄까요. ‘기분’이 경쾌하게 달리는 느낌이어서 순간에 대한 이야기를 하고자 했다면, ‘생각’은 차분히 앉아서 지난 시간을 떠올리는 마음으로 가사를 썼어요. 우리는 보통 일출 때는 미래에 대한 기대나 희망을 생각하지만 일몰 때는 과거를 반추하잖아요. 변화한 마음을 되짚어보고 정리해보는 가사가 이 곡이 주는 편안한 느낌과 잘 어울릴 것 같았어요.” 7월호 ‘기분’이 젊은 날의 윤종신을 이끌었던 ‘감각’에 대해 이야기했다면, 8월호 ‘생각’은 윤종신의 지금을 채우고 있는 ‘생각’ 그 자체에 주목한다. 윤종신은 이번 가사를 쓰면서 자신의 히스토리를 메우고 있는 사람들과 생각들을 돌아보는 시간을 가졌다고 말한다. 관심받기 위해 거침없이 달려가는 나를 묵묵히 지켜봐 준 사람들. 어려웠던 상황 속에서도 내 편이 되어주고 나를 더 깊이 많이 생각해줬던 사람들. 한때는 생각이 같아서 좋아했고 한때는 생각이 달라서 미워했던, 하지만 이제는 마냥 잘 지내기만을 바라는 그때 그 사람들. “이 곡의 영어 제목은 ‘You’re right’인데요. 두 가지 관점에서 해석이 가능해요. 첫 번째는 보이는 그대로의 뜻, 그러니까 내 입장에서 타인을 바라보며 당신이 맞다고 인정하는 것이고, 두 번째는 타인의 입장에서 나를 바라보며 내가 맞다(‘I’m right’)라고 확신하는 것이죠. 이건 관용과 고집을 동시에 표현한 것인데, 요즘 과연 내가 누군가의 생각을 틀렸다고 말할 수 있을까, 라는 고민을 자주 하고 있거든요. 내 생각이 그 자체로 내게 가치가 있는 것처럼 타인의 생각도 그 자체로 타인에게는 중요한 것일 테니까요. 물론 한 가지 분명한 건 그 생각이 맞든 틀리든 그에 따른 행동이나 결과는 자신이 책임져야 한다는 거예요. 내 생각의 어떤 부분이 지속되고 또 변화하는지, 그것이 내 인생을 어떤 방향으로 이끄는지 함부로 속단하거나 단정하지 않고 지켜보려고 합니다.” - Credits Lyrics by 윤종신 Composed by Kingo Hamada Arranged by Takashi Aoki (SPARKLING☆CHERRY) Guitars Fujimaru Yoshino & Kingo Hamada Drums Masahiro.
