My friends, today was a day I honestly didn't think would ever arrive. Today, Georgette and I joined hands in friendship (o hai, Eobard, thanks for witnessing this touching moment 😜)

and we frickin' played some Halo!

For almost 4 hours! It was glorious, friends! We were ALL blinded by its majesty, even Eobard!

She actually had a bit of a rough patch today with the Nvidia card demon coming out to freeze up like an absolute jerk say hi for a moment...

...but I'd just seen there was an Intel update available and was literally researching whether or not to take it when, you know, everything hung up so that made up my mind pretty easily, lol. 🤷‍♀️

After that update, we updated Windows and then I thought, you know what? Let's just go for Steam and see what happens. And Steam installed and so I went for the MCC, which automatically installs Reach, so I plugged in my controller, the Mighty Purple Hand of Spartan Justice™️

(seen here with my cozy Master Chief in his Olaf robe, some hot tea and a box of tissues because I had cold at the time and this was my comfort set up, lol) and we got to saving Reach!

It totally worked, too. Reach was saved, yippee!

Jorge, telling me how waaaaay awesome it was that I helped him and Noble Team TOTES 117% SAVE REACH WITH NO CASUALTIES YES!!!

And look, we're all running to get ice cream! Yay, ice cream! 🍨

Okay, so I've had a few really rough months, give me this one, a'ight? 😇😉

Anyway, I wish I could say

but no, not just yet. But maybe, just maybe, we're on the right track at last?

Yessss! Ok, so. Gamer Rain rambling under the cut just to save space, no warnings. The NSFW stuff is going to be in a different ask lmao.

Rain = computer gamer. Will play console, loves console, but in his heart of hearts he's a PC girlie. Has a whole set up. Duel monitors (at least). Comfy gaming chair that he is usually contorted in. LED keyboard/headset/mouse/desk pad/tower the whole nine). Plays late into the night a lot.

Usually found hunched over his keyboard hissing into the microphone at his teammates, or curled up in his desk chair, one knee up so he can rest his chin on it while he plays (either with an xbox controller or just bent over himself so he can reach the keyboard.) Dew, Aeon, and Aurora watch him play a lot. The others will too sometimes, but usually it's just Rain alone, or him and one other person who is sprawled out behind him on his bed. Eating snacks and telling him to: holy shit look out there's one right behind you.

I think Rain also plays games with the others in the common room pretty frequently.. I think they have basically every console known to man. And they play a good mix of story-based and mission-based games together. ( Dew and Rain are very very close to beating Borderlands 3 for probably the fifth time.) Copia bought him a Switch when they first came out and Rain walked around with his nose in it for a month straight. That's his console of choice when they're on tour (loves Breath of the Wild, Graveyard Keeper, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, all the things). Alright, some of Rain's favorite game series for solo playing (in my opinion, feel free to add more!) -Dark Souls -Elder Scrolls -Resident Evil -Fable (especially 1) -Bioshock And his favorites to play in the common room with his pack: -Overcooked -Borderlands (2 is his favorite, he plays as Zero) -Halo -Diablo -COD but only the older ones. He also loves playing shooters online against people because he's *very* good at them and pissing random people off makes me very happy.

hi i never played halo growing up or anything but it looks fun. i only have a shitty laptop so i probably cant run any newish ones. which should i start with?

The good news is, the only good ones are 13 years old (or older)! (besides halo wars 2 but that’s an RTS spinoff) so you can probably run em lol

The Master Chief Collection on pc gives you all the halos worth playing (plus halo 4, which isn’t worth playing, but it’s there) and is really the only way to play em on pc outside of like, emulating. I’d play em in order of release, start with CE, then go 2, 3, ODST, and Reach.

CE, ODST, and Reach are the best games, but that’s a bit blasphemous to say because a lot of people have crazy nostalgia for 2 and 3 (which, to be fair, are still very good games)

While I'm trying not to dissolve in a puddle of stress (every time my graphics card kicks in or the PC makes a noise of any sort, I legit yelp, "I'm sorry!" and quickly close the browser), I've managed to almost finish "15 Minutes" chapter 7 still by hand. I'd scan a page so you could see my nearly indecipherable "writing" but I don't dare hook the printer up just yet so, no scanning. 🤷‍♀️

I'm going to write out another full draft by hand to start fixing some of the most obvious "first draft" stuff, then I'll start marking up spot-rewrites, where I end up looking like I've drawn a very poor treasure map in crayon and despair, trying to find space to rewrite larger blocks of text.

Then I'll write all of THAT over by hand. And then I'll try entering it into Google docs. I don't have Word on here and am not willing to risk that just yet, but there's something weirdly uncomfortable to me about Google docs. Maybe I just need to make the font bigger? It's definitely too small for me to read comfortably at this point.

Yeah, I just need to customize it a bit more, make it more homey. I like absolutely adore that it pretty much autosaves constantly, that makes it feel less likely that I'll lose a lot of work if we should suddenly end up with the dreaded Blue Screen of Death.

Have a GIF of me in happier days, playing Halo 2, Halo: Reach and Mass Effect: Andromeda and driving LIKE A BEAST. On fire. And probably screaming. Along with my passengers. BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT. The point is I WAS HAVING FUN.
