#as someone who grew up poor and queer i need rich white queers to kindly fucking Stop please? #i love folk punk. i love how. real it feels compared to other genres. #and id . really appreciate it if people stopped treating it like a silly funny life to be in. #most folk punk or midwest emo or whatever you wanna call it is very clearly about growing up with a Struggle. #most songs youll find in the genre are about struggles with mental health #growing up poor facing abuse facing homo/transphobia #the hardships you face being a minority #and . i dunno. the people calling it like . gross and grimy feels. really. bad #when i was little id write songs. in my rat infested almost condemed house. i struggled a lot with duh being poor i was young and autistic #i was a lesbian and i struggled with it. i was expieriencing delusions bc i couldnt handle my reality. i was being abused and neglected. #and music and poetry were my outlets. and i dunno. imagining myself look that little girl in the eye and telling her shes gross. shes grimy #and stinky shes a little trash goblin what the fuck ever. that kind of genuinely makes my skin crawl.
