reading some stuff and ngl. I kind of want to run a forum style RP. not a traditional TTRPG, but a prose/text based one that you'd find in the really dedicated forums. one of my friends auditions/participates in a lot, and we have a one on one RP that we do with each other in discord, with a server, and then channels set up for locations and stuff and I'm like. wait. I could do this, I think. the thing that stops me from DM-ing '""live""' per say is my inability to recall anything on a screen and my beloved TTRPG books were all borrowed. but. if it was text based. well.

#i was in a group that tried to do a forum style group RP entirely in facebook messages and it drove me nuts #like just make a page and then we divide up the RP in threads using starter posts what are you DOING #then again the guy running it was partially responsible for the worst VtM experience i ever had based entirely on annoyance #i'll put up with a lot but not feeling annoyed

#speculation nation #the funny thing is that back in 2013 u could still edit people's posts #which with rp i used that to delete old responses so that the posts wouldnt get too long #for the purposes of rp this worked WONDERFULLY so the threads wouldnt get too long on dashboards #but it's also kinda insane to remember that we could just... do that. change posts. fuckin wild Genuinely. #but ahhhh baby me's early writing... so nostalgic #i had 3 characters in this roleplay group. had a lot of fun for the time that i was there #since then tho i havent done any roleplay blogs on tumblr. only ever done one on one roleplays with a select few people #and dnd lol. which counts for the roleplaying aspect. #but for the Writing experience. rp was very definitely a huge thing for the development of my writing. #feeling a little bit emotional almost thinking about the many many words ive written in my life to get to my current skill #ten years ago i was 15 and just messing around with some characters i enjoyed #and now here i am with 663k words uploaded to ao3 and thousands of kudos across all my works #kinda makes me emotional. ive come a good ways since then. #and i have MORE PROGRESS TO GO 💪💪💪💪 i will keep at it. bc at the end of the day i just really love writing.

Then again, it was hard to relate to anyone--majority of the people felt sorry and pity her.

She shook her head and pushed any odd thoughts out of her mind. Fuuka was more interested in what Juliet was trying to make. "Let's figure out a better way for you to not get into trouble. Because these sweets look so amazing that I don't want you to get detention and miss teaching me how to make these!" Fuuka stated, smiling as she looked over at the small bowl of chocolate chips nearby and tapped her chin with her fingertip. "I can see that--why not do half and half? That way if you aren't satisfied, at least the cupcakes are only a little ruined."

it’s a small thing. friday night, the restaurant is busy. if there isn’t a seat after all, it doesn’t have to mean anything. it’s more frustrating that the hostess first asked who else was with them, gaze drifting past roz’s shoulders like she was expecting to find a chaperone—followed immediately by a string of unnecessary clarifications, as if realizing what she was doing. by the end of it, roz is fairly certain she was more uncomfortable than they were, and it’s a relief when they slip back outside.

roz hasn’t gone far from the restaurant when they pause again though, distracted by the sight of a woman seemingly in the midst of readjusting the brace wrapped around her leg. the technology looks leoran in nature. admittedly, they’d lost their childhood interest in the specifics of leoran tech in other the years—although with the revelation of energy cores, that’s changed too. whatever the purpose of the brace though, it doesn’t seem like it’s behaving the way the woman wants. 

“need any help?” roz says. where she appears dressed up for the night, roz hasn’t bothered. they aren’t in work clothes, but they’re comfortable, and they usually have extra tools tossed in their bag for convenience in case they forget to pack something the morning of a shift—and maybe there’s a little sentimentality too, in at least one case. 

roz nods towards the brace, uncertain how to offer without crossing the same boundary they’d been so annoyed at the hostess for—assuming they couldn’t do something on their own. this woman clearly knows more than roz would about this technology. “i just mean i’ve got tools, if that would help with whatever you’re trying to do.”

Desperation pushes starving villagers and stranded merchants to unscrupulous means to survive. As you finish up one of your patrols, a band of thieves manage to catch you by surprise and take one of your colleagues hostage. Holding a knife to their throat, they demand gold and supplies to help them survive the storm. They are still inexperienced civilians in the end though. An experienced warrior like yourself would cut them down easily, if that’s what you choose to do. [Grants Gauntlets +1] - Kinu would be absolutely like to help people, and these thieves look like they would be fun to play with. Knives are dangerous though and you shouldn't be pointing that at people like that-

Oddly, the mages notice that Reason magic has been on the fritz lately. Even the most experienced sages find it difficult to control their magic, never mind the practicing novices that keep burning themselves and injuring others. A late-night attempt to study for a Reason exam quickly gets out of hand and sends a classroom up in flames. The Knights of Seiros and other members of the monastery’s facilities must rush in quickly in order to contain the fire and save lives. Winter has settled in at Garreg Mach, and the long hours of darkness are working their way into the bodies and minds of its staff and students. Shelter from the bitter winds and snows that blow outside soon turn just as suffocating, as the stillness permits too many unwanted thoughts to worm their way into the crevices of your thoughts. A fresh distraction is desperately due, but in short supply during this season. A minor Faerghus noble knows these troubles all too well, and so she offers to Garreg Mach a small donation. A small, vacant building in town has now been renovated into a simple retreat for anyone to visit. Rustic and cozy, it features a host of simple food and drink, a warm fire...and a challenge not for the faint of heart! Participants need to eat a whole bucket of the spiciest pieces of chicken you can imagine or fall over trying. Will you come to cheer or boo the competitors on? Enter it yourself? Or stow yourself away in a more quiet corner to have a drink and reflect? - It is a competition and Kinu wants in! And people trying to warn her off from it cause of the spicy chicken part are only making her want to compete more! (Dimitri)
