Naturerlebnisfahrten mit dem Tidenkieker (Glückstadt)

Glückstadt bietet einen idealen Ausgangspunkt, um die maritimen Schätze entlang der Elbe zu entdecken. Bilder im Hafen Ich hatte es ja schon gesagt, es kommt Neues. Und hier ist der erste Satz Bilder aus dem aktuellen Shooting mit Laura (@_trxstnobxtch ). Wir haben in Glückstadt mal wieder ein paar Locations ausprobiert. Wir mussten uns aber auch dem Wetter etwas unterwerfen. Denn kaum waren wir an der ersten Loaction, fing es an zu nieseln. Aber ein paar Bilder waren dort möglich. Als zweite Location hatte ich mir dann den Hafen ausgesucht. Doch dort mussten wir gut 15 Minuten im Auto warten, denn der Platzregen hätte nicht nur die Haare ruiniert. Doch Geduld wird ja bekanntlich belohnt. Glückstadt, November 18, 1809. Forever in some trouble about the day of the month, but am never more than one or two days out. Our amiable friend le Commandant Donsur took us this morning to see le haut Chancellier de Holstein,¹ le Baron de quelque chose² which shall be found out and told anon. It seems he had already announced us, for his Excellency knew all about us. Received us very courteously and understanding that we are to leave town to-morrow, asked us to dine to-day en famille; agreed. Went at 1/2 p. 2. Y: Madame ———; M———, the third Judge, and ———, a literary man of modest, intelligent appearance whose name I regret to have lost. The Chancellier appears about 47; small, maigre,³ but sprightly, courteous, and sensible; something like Madison⁴ in appearance. A la Soedoise, we all stood and said our grace; and after dinner all rose at once, and after returning thanks, bowed, &c, adjourned to the drawing-room. The dinner was of several courses. Each dish served in succession, first being carved by Madame, and then handed round by the servant. At each two plates a bottle of wine (claret), tumblers and glasses; each drank as he pleased. Some choice wines were sent round, a glass to each. Madame has four lovely children, the three youngest particularly; the two eldest, girls. Home at 7. Snow and hail. The house at which I lodge is the rendezvous of the Club. The noblesse⁵ of the town meet every Saturday evening for conversation, cards, and supper. (The ladies' club assemble at the same house every Tuesday evening.) I went in a few minutes, but I declined to join at cards, as well from an aversion to lose as because I must pack up, and so adieu, Madame, till that labour be gone through. Minuit.⁶ Done, even the picture; all, all packed, ready for starting at sunrise. I bid you bon soir a dozen times before I shut you up in that dark case. I can never do it without regret. It seems as if I were burying you alive.

For example:

Achim (that's a male first name)

Besitz (belongings/property)

Breiholz (mash/mashed wood)

Glückstadt (luck town)

Gottesgabe (god's gift)

Großenkneten (groß = big, kneten = to knead)

Himmelpforten (heaven's gates, more or less)

Hoffnung (hope)

Itzehoe (it's pronounced "it's a hoe")

Kotzenbüll ("Kotzen" translates to "throwing up")

Leck (Lick. More giggles when they find out that there's a "leck huus", a "lick house" if you will. It doesn't matter that "leck" has other meanings, the focus stays on licking.)

Leer (means "empty")

Luschendorf (fool's village. There are other less nice words for "Lusche", but it's generally someone who's completely untalented, clueless, and weak)

Nützen (use or usage)

Pferdekrug (horse's jug/pub)

Witzhave ("Witz" mens "joke")

Witzwort (if you swap the two components of that word, you get "Wortwitz", which means "pun" in English)

I am home! *passes out*

Got back at 12.30 last night (instead of 9) having had my flight cancelled because of damage to the plane - well, I'd rather they cancel it, if they can't repair it, than fly with it, but still. Credit to BA, they got me onto the next available flight out, so I did still land at Heathrow on the same day I was expecting to, and I was able to rearrange my bus home, even if I didn't quite arrive at home on the expected day. On the plus side, I now know what happens when a flight gets cancelled. XD

Still, I had a fantastic time, spoke German at least half of the time, visited beautiful Lübeck and Glückstadt, drank glühwein and beer and at least two different types of schnapps, ate loads, walked a lot, caught up a lot (but not totally) with my lovely friends (too much to talk about, it's been nearly four years since we saw each other, and more than that since we had chance for a proper chat) and their friends, and was generally spoiled absolutely rotten. :D (now I'm pondering making an AO3 for everything I wrote for the Fandom That Dare Not Speak Its Name, given that it's over ten years since the fandom fizzled out and five years since the muse died (and fifteen since he left the band)...it was in that fandom that I met these particular friends and we were remniscing and getting all nostalgic, and I'm feeling kind of inspired, although I don't really want to link it to my main AO3...)

I still owe comments and replies and betaing and responses to being tagged in things (thank you all so much, everyone who's tagged me in stuff, I've been utterly useless at responding for a while but I do love those things and I am fully intending to get on and sort them out XD ) and will hopefully get to those over the next few days. Today, however, is for unpacking, unwinding, drinking coffee, and attempting to consolidate my German vocab XDDDDD

Das Warten hat ein Ende So kann man es denke ich am Besten beschreiben. Es war viele Wochen sehr ruhig hier. Und das nicht nur auf Social Media sondern auch vor der Kamera. Viele Termine hatte ich in letzter Zeit nicht, musste gesundheitsbedingt auch Termine absagen. Auch den letzten Termin von Laura Mitte Juni musste ich absagen. Aber es sehr bald was Neues von ihr kommen, denn der nächste Termin steht. Auch sind weitere Termine bereits im Kalender, nicht mit Laura, sondern mit anderen bekannten Gesichtern. Also macht euch kleine Sorgen, es wird wieder Bilder geben. Wie oft und in welcher Menge, das steht noch nicht ganz fest. Ich mache es wie es gerade passt und gefällt.
