-> realized we wouldn't have the thing we planned on posting ready on time so we decided to do this ^^ -> we're writing this at 2am so feel free to let us know if u notice any typos or plotholes or anything -> gonna write more for this btw !!! i just wanted to get smth kinda halloween theme out in time

pt2

clouds shuffle across the sky, obscuring and revealing the moon in an unending cycle. a crow flying above you caws, and you stop walking. a few seconds later the bird breaks through the canopy of trees and lands on your outstretched arm.

you scratch under its chin, and it leans into your touch.

"find anything edgar?"

the bird pauses, and you soon get a flow of information, almost like you're watching a movie. you see a sleek, black cat running through the trees, a large dog close behind. edgar had followed, as soon as the cat scrambles up into a tree the vision ends.

"well, we can't just leave it. lead the way."

edgar caws again, lifting into the air and flying close enough for you to follow him easily. it's not long before you hear barking, and the sound of the dog's nails on tree bark.

edgar caws at the dog, who doesn't seem to care that much. however, when you step closer, it seems to change its mind, taking off through the trees.

edgar lands on the branch the cat is perched on, nudging its side with the top of his head. the cat swats at him, but its claws are still sheathed so you're not worried about him getting hurt.

"hi lovely, wanna come down?" the cat trills, and you consider the best way to get it back out of the tree.

before you can figure out what to do, someone bursts through the trees. the cat trills again, and you figure that must be the owner.

"salem why are you in a tree, again?"

edgar caws at the stranger, who looks startled by his presence.

"got chased by a dog," you offer, and the stranger whips around to look at you.

guess they didn't notice me either.

"edgar dragged me over," upon hearing his name the large bird flies the short distance to land on your shoulder, tilting his head at the cat's person.

they nod, and you think you see a smile, "thank you."

you give a soft smile, "'course. i couldn't just not do anything."

the person redirects his attention to the cat, holding out his arms for it to jump into, holding it close to his chest when it does.

"so, why're you in the forest at," you glance at your phone, "2:30 in the morning?"

"i could ask you the same."

"i asked first."

they scoff slightly, but don't argue further, "needed to get some stuff set up for the full moon. you?"

"ah, same. i mostly need to make sure i get moon water this month."

you make eye contact for a second, neither saying anything. a silent understanding passes between the two of you, and you laugh slightly.

"who would've thought?"

they smile, seeming to have the same idea, "what're the odds."

"so, since i no longer have to worry about being burnt at the stake, i'm y/n. and you are?"

"i'm minho, this is salem," he indicates the cat in his arms, who meows in response.

"this is edgar, allen and poe aren't out right now."

minho nods, "so, walk with me?"

you grin, already liking his personality, "of course, lead the way."

gonna tell u guys all the books i saw today in the bookstore that i was not supposed to go into bc im not allowed to buy any more books until i finish reading 3 unread books and my thoughts/how i felt

maximum ride. (the manga) girl. babes. boys. pals. my friends. i have not seen these books since like. yr9. i fucking loved the series and i remember when i finished reading all the ones we had in the library and it was like. an inconclusive end because we didnt have all of them???? a gals heart BROKE okay

complete collection of grimms fairytales. or smth like that. i forgot the title. but i have the edgar allen poe one from the same collection and ANYWAYS. i really wanna get the grimms fairytales one. like. i can use them as references and inspo for stories, and i can also just read all these stories that are beyond your usual ones. but also, collection.

ten count. why. but hey, it was sealed.

cocaine blues. i was ECSTATIC to see this. it's part of the phryne fisher series (ie. the books on which miss fisher's murder mysteries, one of my favourite shows currently, is based on). i've never seen the books before. i really wanna collect them now.

the atlas six. whenever i see this book i have a crisis bc i love the cover but i dont remember if it was on my list of books i wanted and then i forget that i can actually access that list on my phone HAHA hm. and i read the blurb again but then i still dont remember what it was that made me potentially want the book. did i read a snippet somewhere? a better synopsis, perhaps?

heartstopper. it's started. netflix covers have started. i want to collect the physical books, but i'm too aware they're available online as well vdsjdjks like. i could really save myself// what, $80-100??? but lordy the joy of owning books.

haikyuu. i picked up the last volume and i really opened it up to 'final chapter' and i got really sad again. so i shelved it.

naruto. smth about.. having a few volumes of my childhood... good. but also, i !! found all the gaidens!!! maybe i'll just choose to invest in those, and not the actual manga. thats a lot of commitment, the manga.

okay yeah i spent a lot of time in the manga section lol and there were a lot more bc i was smiling like an idiot but i wanna eat now so byebye

hero x villain writers (and readers), have I got some music for you!

Counterfeit Arcade by Shayfer James is what I’ve been obsessed with recently- it’s absolutely perfect for writing heroes and villains. It’s indie rock, the songs are mostly fast paced (with three exceptions), and the music is oddly addictive. I’ve been listening to it on repeat for like four days now and I’m not stopping anytime soon.

it has 11 songs, and it’s only 36 minutes. great way to spend just over half an hour!

reviews for each below the cut!

weight of the world: This makes me wanna dance, and the lyrics feel like a tired, cynical antihero type convincing the hero that nothing matters but like… with style. “That’s just the weight of the world, the weak and the weary will never survive… that’s just the weight of the world, and we’ll all be the weak and the weary sometime.”

for the departed: Again, this is super catchy and really fun to listen to. I don’t know how to explain it except that it’s a criminal realizing they’re about to get caught- it references Edgar Allen Poe’s story about the heart beating beneath the ground, and it’s someone saying goodbye to their lover.

where we belong: I know I sound like a broken record, but this is catchy as hell. Seriously, listening through this I was just astounded by the fact that every song drew me in and I wanted to keep listening (I find it super hard to listen to new things, I have to add songs I know in between new songs just to keep my attention on them). Some fun lyrics: “I know we're far beyond the point of no return, Let's say we light a fire and be the first to burn”. I told y’all this album is built for hero and villain writers.

L.V.S. (your lady waits): This is the first slow song in the album. It was written after the death of James’ father (LVS are his dad’s initials, the lady waiting is probably his mom), and it addresses an absent, admired loved one. This is probably one of my favorites. It’s mournful and peaceful and hopeful and just. Really amazing.

villainous thing: Moving on from the sad one, we have this! And y’all. Y’all. This is the song that I heard first on another playlist, and lemme tell you, this isn’t my favorite but it might be yours. It’s a villain seducing their significant other in villainy bc they’re “a villainous thing, and we can’t have you living a lie”. !!!!!

battle cry: The chorus on this one makes me wanna be evil- you just gotta listen to it. It has one of the best villain lines ever: “You'll sacrifice the truth to justify your sins/but I don't need an excuse to let the darkness in”.

peace: Okay, this is my least favorite by far. But! I’m sure it’s an acquired taste, and as I keep listening to the full album I’m sure I’ll like it more. It’s very slow, the melody is kind of odd (and it’s supposed to be odd!) and discordant. Next to the others, it’s just slower. The main thing is just “I will never deserve peace”, which fits with the discord. Listening to the full album, it makes sense… but I wouldn’t listen to it for fun.

diggin’ up hatchets: Feels like people dancing on the corpse of a post-apocalyptic dystopian world. Super catchy, super fun to dance to.

under the willow: I forgot that this one was also slow, but it’s not as slow as peace or LVS. It’s good! It’s not my favorite and it’s not as catchy as the other, but the lyrics are great and it’s really fun to get into character singing (that feel when you pretend you’re in a music video or smth while singing to songs).

godspeed: The genius.com blurb for this song says that it’s about two friends who betrayed each other a while ago and are seeing each other again, and I can get behind that. “You’ve got some nerve to be coming around with that smile on your face and your feet on the ground, I used to be someone that you could believe but it’s been a while, been a while”.

have a seat misery: Not as unhinged as some of the other songs, this one still feels like a villain planning something awful. It’s unnervingly calm.

i'm bisexual (i have a preference for girls). My birthday is December 6. Some of my hobbies include cooking (however do not try and let me bake for the love of humanity), drawing, writing, playing my ukelele, and various types of sports too (I really love soccer and volleyball!!) 🚏: how good am i w directions? do i get lost easily?uh. hm. well. mmmm. i’m not as bad as my dad, who consistently took the same wrong turn in westminster every time we drove to catoctin state park, but i took a wrong turn out in crawfordsville once and got hella lost trying to get back to the highway. on a second trip tho im not bad, like i’ve never taken that wrong turn in crawfordsville twice. i navigate by landmarks, don’t tell me to go 3 miles and turn left then go 5 miles and turn right, i can’t judge distance for shit; tell me to go until i see the abandoned gas station, turn left at the big dead tree, drive until i see the giant muffler man painted like a desert storm soldier. the only way i can navigate by mileage is w a gps, but even then i can’t judge distance and turn when it shows me the turn

My birthday is December 6 making me a Saggitarius, my hobbies consist of mainly art and sport as ways of coping mainly and sometimes cooking too, I like a lot of music, it just depends what mood i'm in, sometimes i really like nova amor, and then sometimes gorillaz, or songs from the early 2000's.
