the first three books are perfect and glorious in each of their own ways, but The Penderwicks in Spring is on a whole other LEVEL.

I CRIED ACTUAL TEARS OUT OF MY EYES #sometimes that's how it be when you're little and you don't know how to tell someone what's wrong #everyone KNOWS something's off and wants to help but batty couldn't find a way to tell them!!!! #so you know i was doing parks and rec I'M DISTRESSED SOMEONE FOLLOW ME for the entire thing #gestures wildly WHY ISN'T SOMEONE HUGGING HER RIGHT NOW???? #but jeffrey sending her hound's picture!! jeffrey hearing her voice and IMMEDIATELY plonking her in front of the family!!!! #CHEF'S KISS #and ben and lydia hijinks were wonderful and cute #i loved the eyebrow raising at oliver but the lack of hounding rosy about it till the very last minute #because you know....you love someone so much that even when their choices are bad you love them so you want to like them anyway #also batty and ben being disgusted at the sheer number of teens at their house at any moment #askjhfdaskhjjkh i love them #it was a whole lot and i LOVED it

If you are taking asks and are not overwhelmed at the moment, I have a request: I could use some wholesome BFF stuff with Kohga and Mipha. I haven't seen my bestie since before covid since travel is still meh and man, my heart could use some friends stuff. Especially if it's Mipha being a good sis and caring for/hugging her stupid Yiga bestie, because I miss hugging and taking care of my own bestie 😭

They agreed to do something unique for their next BFF date. They decided to do some kind of outfit swap, handmade by each other. Granted, Kohga struggled and needed help from Sooga to make it, but after weeks of work, they finally made it happen. They were at the yiga clan base, dressing in separate rooms. Mipha looked over at herself, uncertain. Definitely not a look she'd ever thought of sporting.

"I suppose...do you have everything on, Kohga, or do you need help?"

"I got it, I got it. Okay, ready?"

"On three. One. Two."

"Three!"

They both stepped out of the room, and took a minute to look each other over. There was uncertainty. Confusion. Then suddenly they were holding each other's hands, jumping in place.

"Oh you look so CUTE!!"

"YOU look so cute! Oh my Ganon, twirl for me girl, twirl for me!"

Kohga held onto her hand as he twirled her. Now, he was as gay as they came, but he had to admit, the yiga outfit made this girl's body look GOOD. Slim frame, itty bitty waist, and just the cutest little butt you've ever seen. She giggled in embarrassment, hiding her face in her yiga mask.

"Oh hush! YOU'RE the one who looks so good! You're right, red really WAS your color! Oh you'd make a FINE Zora prince! It looks delightful!"

Kohga looked at himself, looking smug as hell.

"I DO look good, don't I? Damn I look hotter than usual! Good work, Mipha!"

Aside from him keeping his yiga mask, he was pretty much in the perfect suit of armor. He even undid his usual man bun, for the sake of the helm. Kohga turned around to show Mipha her own handiwork (aka his ass), head huge in pride.

"SERIOUSLY. My ass looks GOOD in these."

Mipha giggled, covering her giggles in her hand.

"I'm...glad you like it."

Kohga ducked down to look in between his legs, right at Mipha.

"Hey. What's wrong?"

"I just...well. I want to show my work to Link. I made him his own armor, but I don't...know if he'll like it."

Kohga immediately turned into friendship mode, hands on his hips.

"Mipha I swear to fuck- you know what, come here-"

Kohga suddenly scooped her up In his arms, before taking her right outside. Sooga and Link had been outside, awaiting their respective partners. They seemed to be discussing their weapons, before turning their attention to the two.

"K-Kohga please put me down-"

Kohga did just that, before gesturing to himself wildly.

"Link. Thoughts. Now."

Link gave him a once over, before giving them both a thumbs up. Mipha, embarrassed as hell, covered her face in her mask. Kohga wouldn't let her weasel her way out of this though, and pulled her to his side.

"Right? MIPHA made this. Isn't she just talented?"

Sooga interuppted, still looking at his weapon.

"She DID have a nice frame to work with, Master Kohga. Less we forget."

"See- THIS is how a man compliments you. Like THAT."

Mipha of course, was ever doubtful. Mipha saw it. Kohga it. Everyone did.

"Kohga it's sweet of you, but this is all-"

Kohga knelt down, and after moving her mask from her face, squished her cheeks.

"You. Are the shit. I love you. LINK loves you. I want you, to so BADLY, see how great you are. Do I gotta kill someone to do it? I'll fucking do it, Mipha, test me."

Mipha looked at him, face littered in uncertainty, before she suddenly jumped at him, wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug. Kohga returned it immediately, clearly fighting every urge to not squeeze the life out of her. Sooga chuckled from behind them, clearly feeling the warmth from here.

"How precious. Why, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you've grown soft, Master."

Kohga pulled away from the hug, pointing a finger of accusation at him.

"YOU. Shut your whore mouth. YOU, Link, marry this bitch."

Link nodded, motioning to Sooga. Sooga shrugged.

"I think Link is suggesting a duel wedding. I wouldn't mind it, personally."

"No that's not what I-"

"YES! LINK! We SHOULD have a duel wedding!"

"MIPHA YOU TRAITOR"
