Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Pendant with 2.58 cts Rose Cut Diamonds - DK328 for just $3200.00 Here is a WOW Georgian diamond pendant. I recently converted this piece to a pendant from a brooch. I married the Georgian bail to the top of this brooch. This piece is set with rose cut diamonds that are primitively hand cut and set in silver with a foiled closed back. Before electricity, diamonds were foiled so that they would shimmer and glimmer in candlelight. This adds exceptional to beauty and rarity to this piece but it also makes it higher maintenance. It is not advised to wear in water, as the moisture gets captured in the foil and discolors the diamonds. Diamonds Cut: Old Mine Cuts Weight: 1 = 0.50 cts estimated weight Measurements: 6.3 x 6.1 mm Cut: Rose Cuts Weight: 65 = 2.08 cts estimated weight Measurements: 2 -2.8 mm Dimensions: 46 x 33 x 8.9 mm Metal: Silver Markings: None Weight: 11.2 grams Circa: 1800-1830 Condition Rating: 8 (this was converted from a brooch to a pendant with pin findings still left on it)

Though I’m not seeing as many of these as I used to, Georgian miniatures remain some of my favorite pieces in my collection.
These are all available in the shop, save for the “Love and Happiness” navette, which has now sold, and the stickpin featuring a pair of doves. Please DM for details on her. 🕊

“The veil is thin the time grows near Your ancestors voices come through clear It may not be what you want to hear but listen close and take their lead It may be what you need”
All the mourning pieces in the shop right now, including a new one being released from my personal collection. My favorite is the gorgeous Tassie intaglio necklace with the motto “Lost to sight to thought how dear!”. 🎃💀

This lovely rarity, with a glowing auburn I’ve never seen before in a mourning piece, is a wonderful sized pendant/brooch. She’s been loved and she’s seen things and she has held the heart of at least one. And now she’s ready to hold another’s… find her listed online. 🖤

(Short and sweet because I’ve been awake since 3am and am about to embark on yet another dreaded Zoom call).

“Black shades”, as these were originally called, began being made around the end of the 17th century. Monsieur Étienne de Silhouette, who gave his name to the genre, was merely a gifted enthusiast who covered the walls of his chateau with his efforts, but professionals and amateurs alike delighted in creating minor masterpieces in this now forgotten art. Silhouettes were made by tracing a profile from a shadow cast by a candle on to paper and then reducing it with a machine known as a pantograph. The silhouette was then cut out, painted and framed. The finest practitioners produced quite lovely effects and could charge high prices for their work.“ - from "Georgian Jewellery”, Ginny Redington Dawes with Olivia Collings . This beautiful late 18th century Georgian locket depicts a woman in period dress painted on ivory, laid over an opalescent blue foiled background, the initials “RW”. It is dated “Obt: 19th: Feby: A.D. 1785”. The convex glass on the front has been reverse painted with a sun ray pattern and a sun shines above her portrait, symbolizing renewed life. . Difficult to capture the shimmering blue in a photo - DM me for a video. Full details in my shop.

A mourning pendant for a 14 year old girl 🖤 The pieces commemorating children always pull on my heart a little more. Sweet Sarah passed in 1796 at the age of 14. These remind me to live life more fully and with gratitude.
Find her full details in my shop 🥀

I used to feel bad getting cut flowers. Couldn’t a potted plant be planted in the yard and flourish? Well, not with my black thumb. I have learned to appreciate fleeting florals indoors since so many are fleeting outdoors. I have also learned that the plants I pay very little attention to (and are gifted to me rather than me buying them) grow the best anywhere near me. Like the wisteria that I swear is plotting to entrap passersby if I look away for too long.
.
Here’s the perfect long-lasting bouquet of flowers for Mother’s Day - a French Georgian 18k locket featuring hand painted flowers reverse painted on glass surrounded by a verre églomisé border. Listed in the shop 💐
