Made a chord chart for ukulele because the ones I found online didn’t have any flat or sharp chords, except it ONLY had Bb chords for some reason. It is designed to fit on a single piece of printer paper in landscape format, and print in black and white. The top right cluster of letters is the most common tuning, I threw the others on there in case it’s useful. I am a beginner at ukulele and originally just made this for myself but I thought I’d share in case someone might find it useful.

simple ukulele tablature tutorial
in tablature (commonly shortened to tabs), the string on the bottom is the one at the top when youre playing, and vice versa
confusing, right?
well, tablature is based on sitting the ukulele flat in front of you
as you can see in my example here, this ukulele is tuned to GCEA, which is the standard tuning for everything other than baritone. if your ukulele is meant to be tuned differently for a certain song, it should tell you how it is meant to be tuned somewhere on the thing
now then, tablature has numbers on the lines
a 0 means open; no fingers on the frets
any number after that means your finger should be on the corresponding fret
this example has no fingers on any of the frets
this example is the same thing as the last, except a G chord instead of open
these are the basics, if anyone wants me to explain other things with tablature, please let me know

"Riptide is so easy!!!!" YT uke players say. "Just out a capo on if you want the right key!" they say
Unless you realise you still don't sound like the recording. So you can either just accept it.... or go digging, and find you have to tune all 4 strings waaaaaaay down from GCEA down to D# G# C and F..... and not even play standard uke chords but baritone uke chords. Which includes two Barre chords. When none of these strings are even tuned like a baritone.
Lol.
It's like pure serotonin when you finally get that clangy sound, but good grief. My strings are so loose that the pick sometimes gets caught. (And tbh now I get why it sounds like that).
Vance joy how did you even come up with this. Why did you settle for that tuning??? Why the baritone chords???? Just WHY?????

☕️ baritone ukulele
I love baritone ukes! It's the one I play most often. They're great for when you want a guitar-like sound quality without needing to know how to play guitar, and much easier for fingerpicking. In the beginning it was annoying to mentally transpose chords down a 5th since I was so used to GCEA tuning, but at this point the muscle memory is all there and I don't really have to think about it much.
