I was chosen to be an EarthApples ambassador this summer, and I was super-excited when our postal carrier delivered this package today. Monkey and Fang and I are all looking forward to getting dirty planting some really neat varieties of seed potatoes. When Cat was young we grew a rainbow garden, with purple potatoes, sunshine tomatoes (yellow and red together on each tomato), yellow beets and "magic beans" (purple, till you cooked them at which point they turned green). How can you tell if you are really a potato or a flamingo?

Potatoes tend to like drier and darker environments while flamingos enjoy feeding in water that has been eutrophicated by nitrogen and the bright sun. This causes the pink pigmentation in their feathers.

Overall the only thing to take away from this is to taste yourself. Do you taste starchy like a potato, or like chicken… like a flamingo. (Who knows what flamingos taste like)

Try not to think of this as cannibalism or self-harm, because this is really the only way to uncover your true identity.
