what took two years?

OKAY SO FOR CONTEXT.

fma mobile released in august of last year. it was STUNNINGLY!!!!! popular in japan when it first released and still is, and a lot of the fullmetal alchemist fanbase still played it (even overseas, hence why i made a semi-translated guide when it first came out)-- only for square enix (the company who made it) to randomly shut it down LESS THAN TWO YEARS??? INTO??? ITS LIFESPAN???

technically it shuts down march 29th of next year, but it's still not even going to make it to two years... kind of sad but extremely weird. to my knowledge they didn't even complete the full story, and the stuff they hadn't finished is turning into an audio drama and being released, so...???

(also fma mobile had a persona collab at the start of its life and it's technically another victim of the persona collab curse haha)

Do you think Junko would be pretty durable? Considering how far she made it through her Execution marathon without getting a scratch, when the others were killed by just one of them. We also have the hydraulic press at the end, which since the Remnants were able to get her body parts after her death, meant that her corpse still kept most of its form, meaning that the press probably only snapped her neck.

From a Versus Debate perspective, where everything gets taken super-literally and extrapolated into the most powerful possible depiction of the character? Yes. Absolutely. All of the executions Junko undergoes and is left no worse for wear because of would need to be interpreted as "durability feats".

Yes, it's ridiculous. But it's no more ridiculous than concluding that Link from Legend of Zelda is always moving faster-than-light in gameplay because he can evade Beamos and block shots from Guardians.

From a writing perspective, I'd say no, probably not. I would not write Junko as being able to tank 17 bullets to the face while laughing maniacally. Junko's execution wasn't meant to be a "feat". It was meant to be a cathartic finale, with the villain undergoing all of the executions in sequence that the other characters had to experience. She was able to survive them until the end because that's what the extremely stylistic and hyperbolic scene required of her.

As a character in day-to-day life, Junko's superhuman abilities are strictly mental; She absorbs information at an insane rate and can instantly memorize skills and abilities by seeing them performed once. She's also extremely intelligent and calculating.

I've talked a bit about this before, that Junko for instance probably has Ultimate Martial Arts and Ultimate Swordsmanship and Ultimate Cooking and all of that in her skillset now from time spent with the people who have those abilities. But she doesn't have the physique. She has a spindly supermodel body.

So she can probably throw punches like Sakura Ogami. But her punches wouldn't hit with the force of Sakura Ogami's slab-of-beef biceps.

From a writing perspective, Junko would probably have the physical limitations of any ordinary human. But. Like. An ordinary human as defined by this psychopop world of batshit anime physics.

Basically Fuhrer King Bradley from Fullmetal Alchemist mixed with Marvel's Taskmaster, is how I would describe her abilities.

i am mostly very happy for the xy freaks and those who grew up with the games. this is exactly how i felt about dppt and sinnoh getting attention with pla + bdsp a couple years ago! sinnoh is my baby and legends arceus has become one of my favorite pkmn games ever!! i’ve had my moment with its resurgence, and now the kalos people get to have this and IT’S REALLY NICE TO SEE :”)

my personal feelings about xy are that while they rank pretty low in my list of favorite core games, i do Not think they are bad— in fact, i liked them a lot (i am very easy to please when it comes to pokemon lol, but i still think they are solid games)! so i am looking forward to z-a too!!

i’m a little torn about the possible types of gameplay we’ll get. the fact that it’s set in one large city is an interesting choice but one that doesn’t worry me (i will say that it reminds me of detective pikachu in that way LOL). i have no doubts it’ll be a fun experience, but i just. REALLY love the gameplay of arceus dkjgdjfj i enjoy how it’s a nice mix of the usual pokemon strategy and action rpg, it scratches my brain. SO i can’t decide if i like the possibility of it being Just like pla, or something completely different. i guess i’ll be expecting a middle ground of those options as of now? not concerned, but interested ^_^

please. let the graphics be better. we love to see the 2025 release, it gives me hope for improved rendering and set design! arceus was kinda slacking on those fronts

Hi there! The name of the game is 鋼の錬金術師 MOBILE (or FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST Mobile), but the reason you're having trouble finding it is because it's Japan exclusive, which is a bummer. I will say all the language options are in japanese so navigating can be a bit tricky, but the good news is the gameplay itself is pretty decipherable with imagery alone - there's also just, an absurd amount of content for a free to play game. like yeah they try to push random purchases but so far i haven't even felt the slightest indication that it's necessary. also I already 5 starred lan fan so like I already won the game y'know

Crossover Idea: Gangan Impact! Character Poll

Note 1: Each of the nine characters would have ten stages each to themselves for a total of 90 Missions across three campaigns. You would switch between them throughout each campaign. However, you would be able to upgrade them individually.

Note 2: For gameplay and story purposes, Akame wouldn't have her iconic one-hit kill poison sword Murasame, which would be taken by one of the Original Character Antagonists. That way, Akame will be balanced against the robots, monsters and other characters (playable and boss alike) and we can see her swordsmenship in full focus.

Princess Mononoke (1997) (easy pick, I love this one the most)

Indiana Jones series (1981-1989) (I can stomach the Crystal Skull but I'd rather not to?)

Lord of The Rings series (2001-2003)

Pelíšky/Cozy Dens (1999) (A Czech movie that literally means Christmas to me - it is a must to watch with my dad on Christmas Eve, the only tradition about that day that I actually enjoy, it's full of czech humour and history)

Noc na Karlštejně/A Night at Karlstein (1974) (Another Czech movie, or actually a musical that I know all the songs to, seen an adaptation in theatre and it was lit as fuck)

I've gotten a lot out of posting about whatever I've read/watched/played most recently, so I'm going to try doing it as a month to month thing on here. Here's what I was doing this past month!

Tiger and Bunny 2: The rare long-awaited sequel that didn't let down ten years worth of expectations. Getting stuck in Netflix jail really killed the hype, but what can you do? I think I liked the first cour better than the second, not that the second was bad, but it felt more like a movie plot stretched out into a season. Sure hope that the third season (if that's feasible, no idea what the numbers look like on this one) doesn't take as long to drop.

Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, and the Witch's Ghost, and the Alien Invaders: apparently these were direct to video so I refer to them as OVAs, which is only reinforced by the solidly Japanese staff in the credits. All good fun. Alien Invaders was my favorite story, but Witch's Ghost had Tim Curry knocking it out of the park.

Powered Armor Dorvack: a 1984 robot cartoon that I never, ever thought I'd be able to watch with English subtitles. Two of the main mecha from the series got turned into Transformers (Whirl and Roadbuster), and that was all I knew about this going in. Lots of strong character episodes and a very unique last third. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone as their very first robot anime or anything, but if you're full up on the classics it's worth a look.

Fuuto PI: Fun enough on its own, but mostly I just want to rewatch Double now. If I hadn't sworn off the roleplay toys I would absolutely buy the Double Driver again.

Shawshank Redemption: putting this in the middle of the list really makes it stand out. I got married at the cabin shown in the opening scenes of the film where the guy's wife gets murdered, that's the main reason I wanted to see this. Sure wish America still consistently made movies like this.

Castlevania Symphony of the Night: The wonky voice acting is honestly extremely charming. Gameplay is still fun and nuanced several console generations later. Definitely want to play more from the series, but I think I'll save it for next spooky season.

One Piece Film Red: This was just a Macross movie. This is not a joke or an exaggeration. So I highly recommend it.

Dragon Ball (entire original manga): Rereading this all the way through as an adult was really eye-opening. Sure, you can really tell the points at which the editors told Toriyama "what the FUCK are you doing, buddy?" But it's still a great time, I got more than a little emotional at the climax of the final fight, even. I could probably write an essay about how Goku and Vegeta are the most mischaracterized dudes in the whole of western fandom, but not today.

Video Game Idea: Gangan Clash! Dreamscape Rumble

An HD-2D sprite fighting game idea featuring characters from Soul Eater, Fullmetal Alchemist and Akame ga Kill! along with the original characters from my Gangan Impact! Idea.

The story would take place in an "Alternate Universe" where the four worlds coexist as four seperate nations with fighters from the four nations traveling to a mysterious continent in the middle of the ocean and converge in a battle to decide the fate of the world with the heroes facing each other while fighting off the villains like Medusa, Bradley and Honest, who each have their own wicked plans for the island and the kingdoms.

Unbeknownst to everyone, the fighters are actually inside a dream world called Dreamrealm, which explains why canonically deceased characters appear in the story, although the living characters are unaware of what happened in the waking world due to events and their memories being altered.

(Although some facts remain true in the Dreamscape World like in the Waking World such as Soul Eater becoming a Death Scythe, Winry knowing Scar killed her parents and Mine becoming Tatsumi's girlfriend.)

The main Antagonist is Dreamscape, the mastermind seeking to control the four worlds through the dream world he crafted.
