This shot of wisteria in my front yard was my attempt to shoot the tungsten balanced film with an 85b warming filter. I had to go into that box of filters that I’ve acquired over the years but have no conscious memory of buying. Probably came with a camera left in the bag. I didn’t compensate for the filter correctly but I’m happy with the results. They look like flowers. A few months ago I picked up some expired Fuji NPL 160 which is a tungsten balanced film. Another long night exposure in the neighborhood. This was a couple of minutes of exposure where I put the dark slide in front of the lens when cars would approach the frame. It looks like that worked out. Another two minute exposure where I used the dark slide in front of the lens to block out light when cars came into view. For me it is part relaxing, part nervous work. You have to stand there and not really go anything else for a few minutes. You listen to your surroundings and realize that you are always distracting yourself with things to occupy your attention.
