[running back and grabbing the mic one last time] but you understand that it's important shirou isn't walking directly next to sakura in that shot because it's showing she's reconnected with rin and is now comfortable enough to relax around other people without feeling horrible insecurity about her own relationship with shirou, right. you understand that putting her next to shirou and removing everyone else from frame is actively sabotaging the growth and closure that shot is meant to represent, don't you
you understand why literally centering shirou at the expense of the other people who helped her heal is changing the symbolism and removing sakura's own agency from a story she's ostensibly one of the protagonists of, yes?

Part of me wants to have more to say about Unlimited Blade Works or at least as much as I did about the Fate route. Maybe it's because there's generally more to say when you're just getting into something than when you're deeper or in the middle of it? Fate Stay Night in general with its themes of what heroism and idealism and even how it handles its incorporation of history is...admittedly more thematically boring than a lot of other high quality visual novels I've read. Like it feels more immature than a lot of the others thematically, and in part it's also more immature politically as a part of that I feel. When They Cry for instance handles history and the "weight" of it far more interestingly, and the themes of Tsukihime, something Nasu wrote beforehand are more interesting as well. I haven't started Heaven's Feel yet and I know a little about it so my opinion might change somewhat, though I doubt significantly. I think it handles trauma and overcoming survivor's guilt and learning to live for one's self the best so far so that's good. Fate Stay Night just isn't the type of visual novel that I fuck with I feel. It could be a 10/10 honestly but it wouldn't be MY 10/10, it wouldn't be a 10/10 for me personally. It's not my vibe if you will.

Nothing special, just wanted to see his eyes before attacking Noble Phantasm seriously. Gilgamesh seemed more sad than happy to use like any other Noble Phantasm, or cold to kill like any other Noble Phantasm or have fun like any other Noble Phantasm, or a sharp person like any other Noble Phantasm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even his face is in a bad mood ready to kill someone....his eye looks frustrated and sad.
And when I did my comic AU
Tumblr media
Even if I paint without concept or not following steps, his eye looks frustrated and sad.
Tumblr media
I also felt with Noval too. I used to think that I was just thinking about it. And after Saber finished him
Tumblr media
I was right....his eyes looked so sad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even Fate/Zero but....There was a hint in this fight "That all dreams must disappear when the dreamer wakes." That sentence is explained enough, Gilgamesh lost everything and he knew he can't come back to who he used to be. That's why he likes Saber and how much she wants to bring her country and her people back to life with the Holy Grail. You can't bring people back to life, Saber knew but she'd still try. That's what makes Gilgamesh like her even more.
Tsubasa of Phantasia or Typemoon or Fate series....Gilgamesh said he was perfect but the truth was...he had so many regrets in his life. He hates how he saw the future but can't change the future, all he can do is accept it.(And do like in Fgo absolute demonic front babylonia ) But no matter what he will change the future no matter how hard it was the same way as Saber's wish. Gilgamesh wants Saber because they had the same thought but in his heart...he knew he couldn't but he tried anyway this stupid jerk. (Sorry)
In Tsubasa of Phantasia, make sense that no matter how much Sonic accepts the future, the truth is some of the future Sonic can't accept. Gilgamesh knew that's why he still watch Sonic but did not avoid his life. Gilgamesh didn't want Sonic to get involved so he tried his best to take the burden from Sonic by himself which mean that oneday this burden will hurt Sonic so he need to avoid him.

if you were going to make transgender fate stay night (well, more than it already is), the best way to do it would be to just make archer a woman and change nothing else (at story start)

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works

Weh, I was thinking of how good of friends Rin and Shirou become in each route and it made me sad.
Not because they're friends, their friendship is good. Shirou had a crush on her (and her him), but, like, as soon as he sees her true daily life self they are ribbing each other all the time, having back and forths. It's pretty nice.
No this makes me sad because it makes me realize again how little we get of Sakura in Fate and UBW. Like she should be the closest person to him besides Taiga pre-HGW and then she sorta gets snipped out until HF. This feels bad because she's my fav heroine (although I think they're all wonderful) and because she seems like she was a significant part of Shirou's life! Like obviously we're still in his head, but I feel like I'm losing out on parts of him.
Maybe's that's just by design, have the MC tangle mainly with 2 people he doesn't know that well for the first two routes as better to start with. Don't really get into the 3rd heroine much pre-final route because her issues are so large that she would take focus away from the other heroines or story. I dunno, but it feels bad. I definitely think there was another way beyond her just not being there. Maybe I just need to read f/HA.
One of my IRL friends always feels bad for Sakura on the other routes because she doesn't get with Shirou and I think that's partially the fault of almost all her screen-time and development being in HF, only where she's romance-able. Like my friend feels bad because she can't imagine Sakura thriving outside of being Shirou's partner. Sakura doesn't get as much non-romance-able context as the other two and I think she, Shirou, and the overall story suffers for it.
HF is still the best route imo, it just makes me want more Sakura. I need more Sakura.
