Hi, Wifi, i hope you're doing well now! ❤️ Just sharing a very random brainrot. Remember the au you posted wherein Foul Legacy and Childe are now two separate beings? Imagine that Childe goes to Sumeru to search for Scara and the Gnossis. Foul Legacy was left with the reader, to essentially keep the reader safe, warm and loved. However, reader gets sick.

You have been running on and off fever for days. During one of your fever dreams, you say Childe's real name out loud. He has been away for weeks now. Although he writes often and although Foul Legacy is with you, it's just the same. Foul Legacy is holding your hand as you deliriously call out to Ajax. He whimpers softly and presses a comforting talon-tipped hand on your cheek. In that moment, Foul Legacy decides to bring Ajax back. You have been sick and lonely for a while. No matter how much he cheers you up, he knows that only two ocean blue eyes would make you smile now. So Foul Legacy leaves in the middle of the night, zipping through the forests of Liyue and going through the boulders of the Chasm Surface to get to Sumeru. He left you under Zhongli's care. The ex Archon promised to take care of you.

Foul Legacy reached the Fatui camp in a matter of hours. He sniffs the air, detecting the scent of the ocean and bergamot. A true warrior never stops training - Childe proves this as he was not in the camp at all. Instead, Foul Legacy finds Childe near the desert. The smug grin on Childe's face after defeating Eremites, was instantly wiped off as he came face to face with the Abyssal monster.

"Legacy? Why are you here?" Childe jogged over. "Where's y/n? Did you leave her?"

The questions were frantic. Childe didn't even ask if anyone spotted Legacy. Hw just wanted to know what happened to you and what led the star-speckled beast to Sumeru.

Foul Legacy whines and huffs. Talons darted forward, sinking into Childe's gray jacket. Foul Legacy simply tugged towards the direction of Liyue. Towards you.

Childe's heart began to beat fast. The urgency in Legacy's movements didn't help ease his worry. All he could think of was you.

Foul Legacy's not normally this insistent- stubborn, yes; Childe's had plenty of situations where Legacy's refused to put you down even though you're perfectly capable of walking on your own two legs (you never complained though), but Foul Legacy was rarely ever insistent that Childe do something, especially not when he was out on a mission

something must be wrong at home, something involving you specifically, and chills go down Childe's back at the thought of it, at the thought of you being anything other than okay. so he makes a detour to the Fatui camp to leave a message for his recruits before following Foul Legacy back to Liyue, almost having to sprint to keep up with the Abyssal monster. he's out of breath by the time they both finally reach your house, the dawn from before now nearly midday, and Foul Legacy hastily pulls him inside. Zhongli's waiting, relieved at Childe's return, and ushers them both to your room where you're sleeping, fever slightly cooler but by not much and Childe's heart drops

"oh, my love..." he rushes to your side as you mumble his real name in your sleep, stroking your face with the tips of his fingers. when he taps your palm your fingers close weakly around his, but you lean your face into Foul Legacy's gentle touch, his claws pleasantly cool against your warm skin. even as you sleep, Childe and Foul Legacy can see a tiny smile blossom on your face and easing the pained expression you had just moments ago, and Childe hears Foul Legacy purr in relief.

"hey."

Foul Legacy looks up, blinking curiously, and Childe sends him a genuine smile.

"thanks for coming to get me."
