Week 11
Math test untimed this morning.
Phonics dance adding iu and ew
Fluency reading, paired partner reading. (pretend recording to get them use to it before next week)
Super e worksheet.
Sequencing this week too.
-ose on the smart board
Hose, rose, nose, dose, words from the worksheet.
TBT meeting. We did the 5 step process rubric for self assessment and monitoring.
Working on silent e, magic e, super e. All meaning the same thing and explaining that to students.
Writing time, super e search. I love how Natalie explains things for both the students and for me. Many of the phonic aspects I did not fully understand until now. “The e on the end makes the vowel say its name.” I didn’t know that our first grade students had trouble identifying some of the letter sounds. I really enjoy how she says the words with the class, breaking it down by each sound.

Thursday:
Today is testing day due to our Halloween party tomorrow. I’m glad to see what a testing day is like, typically they happen on Fridays. Students seem like this is normal routine and do well with this.
Special time showing Natalie Kahoot game for tomorrow’s stem rotation. We have technology this month.
Get Pumpkin Lesson stuff ready for next week. Tomorrow will be a crazy day.
IEP students testing. They only get half credit if we help them. They cannot be mastered if we help them out in any way. This also applies when you are trying to get an IEP for someone. You put them at developing until they are able to do it on their own.
Gave them a brain break with GoNoodle.
During writing time Natalie is working on Aimsweb progress monitoring.
Mind blown:
C followed by iey makes the soft sound which is like an s
Soft g
K iey its a k
K with oau its spelled with a c
Learning things from my co-teacher that I should have learned at Shawnee.
Friday:  The Halloween Party today. We did our rotation this morning with the whole first grade. We did technology so I introduced Natalie to Kahoot and we created a pumpkin quiz and had them answer questions based on a youtube video. They loved it! This is something we would like to use in our daily schedule to get the students more engaged in lessons. I'm really excited for this!
