I have an au (it’s not fleshed out very well) where Max decides to tell Mike that Jane paid her to snoop around and that her brother is planning on trashing Freddy’s for Jane

Mike doesn’t get upset at her, he gets it, if things were even just a tiny bit more desperate he’d do some shady things for a bit of cash. He offers to let Max and her dog stay with him and Abby for awhile and she accepts

Jeff, Hank, and Carl still break into and trash Freddy’s, dying in the process, and Vanessa would still come over but she’d ask about both Abby and Max

I just don’t know how to work Max into the plot after that, especially the ending

(Though I will say once Vanessa wakes up and spends more time with the three of them, she makes a joke about Mike taking in strays - she’s talking about herself and Max, not Abby)
