im sure that other ppl's experience of watching guardian is like. very serious and dramatic. but shen wei is SO. and the subtitles are SO. and also i have to pause every like 3 min to look up some phrase bc between zhao yunlan's accent and my extremely mediocre reading and the terrible subtitles sometimes i have no clue what's going on

#zyl can put SO. MUCH. 儿. into his lines omg #also sometimes someone will say something and i will immediately pause and yell 'WHY WOULD YOU TRANSLATE THAT LIKE THAT' #like ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh #this isnt even egregious i just currently recall it: #zyl says like: 你到底是不是— and gets interrupted. he's trying to figure out shen wei's scret identity #*secret #the subs said 'are you actually...' #i woulda gone more in the direction of like ...
