My purchase from @squinoazine arrived today, and everything is so beautiful! I didn't unwrap the zine from the tissue paper because it's a gift, but I got one of the "B-grade" copies, which... you can hardly tell it's B-grade, really, heh. I just got back into FFVIII and found out about this zine just in time for the leftover sales, and I'm so grateful for that. FFVIII merch is so rare (I've only ever found one print at a con, and that's with having gone to Anime Expo multiple years), but it's my absolute favorite Final Fantasy game, so it means a lot.

I do miss working on zines tbh, but not entirely sure I’d be able to keep up with scheduled work until I’m in a better headspace and settled back into a stable routine again. But here’s to hoping now that I’m going to cut back a hell of a lot more on commissions and start trying to do more with requests to get back into things, I can maybe peek out and apply to some new ones in the future.

...is this the article people were going on about a while back? Because, holy fuck shit, what is this nonsense?

I mean, I can see the dislike, where it’s coming from... but 8 is fantastic. I mean, 9 is only my favorite because it’s got amazing story-line, character building, AND steampunk. >_> (also pirates)

I realize the person is going off on it years late without doing a replay, but... how the characters are in 8, all this shit they complain about, is kind of explained in game? Or do I just read between the lines too much?

I mean the only real valid complaint in that is the combat system. My husband hates like ALL of the FF games because the fighting is turn based. (With the exceptions of 14 and 15 that I know of. (I haven’t played 12 recently enough to remember how that one works...or 13 for that matter.))

I was trying to see if there were any FF8 Zines... because I think that’d be cool to do... and I found this... just, ugh. lol

I was expecting I dunno, reasons, for such dislike. Don’t get me wrong, they can hate it all they want, but that piss poor explanation of said dislike... why even put it out there?
