Just thought about sam coming back from work one day with a cute little cat because tara always wanted one.

Christina and Mr. Carpenter had no intention of taking care of another creature, so they never got one. The closest thing tara got to a pet was a small teddy bear plushie sam won for her when they were kids.

But today, on her way back home from work, sam saw a cute kitty on the sidewalk. She saw its cute brown eyes begging her not to leave, they reminded her a lot of tara's. Then she noticed that the little cat had a small scar on its paw (just like her little sister), and that's when she decided this cat was meant to be theirs.

Sam has noticed that tara has been feeling lonely lately, chad and mindy are coming over less often because chad is still recovering and mindy is spending time taking care of her brother and sam is always at work or at therapy.

Maybe a cute little friend would be helpful.

so another thing about malorn and malistaire being parallels i just thought about. does anyone who knows a lot about malistaire know if it was addressed how he treated his students during the course of Malistaire's decline? like, im under the impression that this was a gradual change and that malistaire still more or less kept his job as a professor before he destroyed the death school, did his relationships with his students change at all? im asking this because i know Zero things about malistaire (im booed off the stage) and if im right about my hunch on how malistaire's reputation as a teacher was affected then i can clearly see how malorn's would play out if he was going down the same path. im genuinely asking here, Malistaire Enthusiasts, assemble like the Avengers and help me out with this one

You know how you hc that the twins battle each other all the time, and thus are basically their hardest opponents? That post you made about Ingo's brutal Path of Solitude made me desperately want Ingo and Emmet challenging each other to various versions, sometimes with Ingo having the upperhand like in the game, sometimes with Emmet making Ingo use a wurmple against a staraptor. And sometimes, for fun, they even make it a double battle. They make the most buff pokemon in existence and everyone is sufficiently terrified

1) ingo was really like, here's a new style of battle challenge i'm introducing that's literally not done anywhere else even in the future, i invented it myself. the challenge is you have one single pokemon and you have to face a very difficult opponent and you're not allowed any other help than what you go in with and you're all alone forever. this is based on absolutely nothing at all and was inspired by nothing. i am fine.

2) path of solitude is really like turbo single battles honestly like of course the guy who is The Single Battles One came up with this. what do you think emmet would have done if he was here instead. would he be like ok pick a pokemon and i'm giving you an entirely random partner. no planning beforehand gotta figure it out when you open the pokeball and we start the battle. dwi.

I was lumped in with the goths during my school years*, and for sure I was horrifically depressed when I wasn't psychotically manic and had common interests like graveyards and depressing poetry and gory imagery and other morbid fascinations, but whenever I did hang out with the Goths (we weren't super super tight like BFFs or something but we got along when we hanged) I was a ridiculous contrast in fashion lol.

Standing in with a group of teenagers who for whatever quirk were all taller than me despite being around the same ages, who were wearing all black or the occasional blood red, in various states of the entirely casual-suitable for the opera fashion spectrum of fashion, often with multiple piercings and eyeliner at the very least,

was this barefaced and metal-less scrawny and smol being in a bright yellow graphic t with some stupid slogan of a meme that was outdated even by then, or a tie-dyed shirt with the Joe's Crabshack logo on it, and incredible baggy jeans that were held up by variously colored scarves because my body shape even while rail thin was awkward with regular belts and my pants would still slide down unless I tight laced a chiffon scarf as uncomfortably tight as I could around my waist, sludge gray Velcro shoes because my inconsistent growth spurts meant I had awkwardly sized feet and for whatever reason the only suitable shoes I could find in my size at the time were Velcro, occasionally a faux gold vaguely intricate Walmart bracelet around my upper arm because it made me feel Ancient Grecian, and the peace day resist ants was, because I was also in a M*A*S*H phase since I was completely fixated on the equally bipolar and similarly undiagnosed Hawkeye, I went to the army surplus store and bought an olive green boonie hat that might have come from the Korean war era but might have been from 'nam I don't remember and I was constantly wearing that everywhere.

Anyway there's no real point to this and I regret to inform you that I never took a photo when hanging out with the goths and it's not like smartphones were mainstream enough that any of us could afford one yet, but I'm just picturing this group hangout from the outside and how it must have looked lol

*(for all that meant in the high school era, cliques weren't really a thing by then and if you had friends you prolly had multiple groups of friends based on whatever specific common interest or just what class/lunch you were in, we were all impoverished as fuck so like. Elitism was never really a thing with some notable exceptions *cough*ableism*cough*)

oh yeah i watched the suspiria remake last week and i didnt like it

#theres this weird effect where its clear they try to put in effort to flesh the characters out more but i feel for them a lot less than #i do in the original. like when i watch original suspiria i am deeply invested in susies escape and her friendship with sara even though #theres not really much 'there'. and the remake tries to have it 'there' but those moments just feel hollow #when susie and sara in the remake are like 'we are like sisters :)' it feels unearned. i am not invested in remake susie as a character #also i found it goofy how they were like 'erm we dont dance to music' if i went to a dance performance with no music i would feel a bit #ripped off. #there are plot threads that try to be connected but they arent quite cohesive enough so it feels like youre watching two movies...... idk #thinking thoughts

also WHY does deku want overhaul to apologize to Eri or to repent when it’s clear that he doesnt care about that child, I get it Deku is a good kid and tries to reach out to anyone yes even overhaul, but that conversation makes no sense to me, overhaul is mentally fried and can only think of his father figure so WHY does deku use eri as a condition for his help🥴 overhaul doesn’t even pretend to care, I think deku’s philosophy is nice and fits the genre but a bit of nuance and reflection wouldn’t hurt, very weird how he forgives abusive father figures like don’t get me started on deku berating dabi over how endeavor is a changed person what does he know about what dabi went through!!!!!

You know what, I'm in a weird spot with that FNAF movie.

I don't think it was very good ! As a horror movie, it made me laugh because especially towards the end the mystery and atmosphere vanished to get Fazbear Franchise Points. Like. Not laugh in the way horror can make you startle-laugh, or laugh so self-soothe. In a way that is "oh god, I see what they wanted to do, and they failed, and this is so endearing, and also so funny".

But...

I enjoyed myself immensely. It had some really cool ideas, and i love love love the visuals. I'd recommend watching it, even.

I like despite how the writing feels flimsy, cardboardy at times, Mike felt real and is very consistent throughout the movie.

I like despite how that movie is trying to tell 4 different stories, not all of them horror, just weirdly breaking up narratively in ways that don't really make sense, it's trying to tell all of them with love and care for the characters.

I love how it's not a soulless cash grab adaptation, and how I can overlook the writing flaws and the one cameo and enjoy it because damn ! It's a whole movie about the giant murder robots ! Those giant murder robots I loved as a kid !

I, genuinely, think that writing wise, you could break it up in 2, maybe even 3 different movies that would all have enough substance to go for an hour and a half. Really, most of this movie's problem isn't the stories it's trying to tell. It's - pick your battles, that's too many battles, put some back.

But it was genuinely fun.

I wouldn't call it a "good movie", by my own standards, but I had 0 expectations and again I enjoyed myself immensely.

Go watch them giant robots. It's so cool. It's so cool.
