Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate you! 🙏 ➡️ If you like my artwork, please like and follow ❤️ ➡️ If you really like my work, please save for later 💾 and share with friends 🔗 This work is inspired by the brilliant work of @indigo.traveller In his recent documentary in Brazil, Nick (aka the indigo traveler) traveled all across the country to detail the living conditions in favelas in major cities such as Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. He also showed us the living conditions for Venezuelan refugees who have immigrated to Brazil for a better life. For those who are not aware, a favela is an informal low income settlement that has been neglected by the government. Despite the difficult living conditions, Nick did a beautiful job showing the humanity and hospitality of the people living in and around the favelas. The people he encountered on his journey were amazing, and it goes to show you how strong the human spirit can be! Please watch Indigo Traveler's YouTube videos. In addition to seeing these conditions for yourself, he will direct you to various resources to donate to help the people directly. It is difficult to watch how some people around the world live. It is so different from how many of us living in places like the US live our lives. But, it is important we see this. We are privileged. It is important to know that many people across the globe do not have the opportunity we do. Don't take that blessing for granted, but more importantly, acknowledge what happens in other parts of the world and try to do your part to help give back to people less fortunate. A year later: situation has worsened in Rio. Pple are struggling to feed themselves as vaccines are slowly being rolled out &the hospitals are overworked. I'm raising funds for my friend Mariluce, a local organizer in Complexo do Alemão who will distribute the funds to the needy.
