This is a mini project I was working on in the span of well…a couple hours. It’s the Will Trent characters if they were book accurate. I used Leonardo AI for this one. Here they are.

Febuwhump 2023 Day 9

Will turned the corner, gun in hand, coming across the missing girl cowering in the corner, crying.

“Hey.” He holstered his gun and was about to crouch down to the child’s eye level when he came face to face with a young man, gun at his hip.

Will was about to identify himself, but the young man was faster and nimbler, turning Will around on his heels and placing him in a chokehold.

He struggled, trying to push himself of the nearest wall, but his attacked had been anticipating that, and had tightened his hold on Trent’s neck, and he began to see stars in his eyes, before everything went black and he felt himself crumple down to the floor, pain flaring in his neck, and then nothingness.

What a stupid way to die, he thought.

Faith had finished canvassing the house and had walked to the structure at the far end of the corner, expecting Will to be waiting outside, but all seemed quiet.

Gun still in hand, she opened the door, and slowly made her way to the back.

“Will?” Faith called out, expecting some sort of response, but all she heard was the screeching of car tyres on the street. Any other time, she would have run out to investigate, but with her newfound partner missing, she had to focus on locating him first.

“Trent, call out!” She shouted louder, her concern increasing.

She turned a corner, and she quickly holstered her gun when she noticed Will lying on the floor, out of it, unresponsive to her voice.

“Will?” She crouched down, feeling for a pulse. It was steady, but she had noticed a sharp redness covering his neck.

She shook his shoulders, but that didn’t work either.

Will knew he wasn’t dead when he started to feel the pain again; he was pretty sure dead people couldn’t feel anything.

He opened his eyes, unsure of what he’d face, and was heavily relieved when he noticed the plain white walls. He turned his head to his left, noticing two familiar faces deep in conversation in the green plastic chairs – Faith and Angie.

He tried to speak, but all he’d managed to do was let out a whimper of pain, bringing attention to himself.

“Thank goodness.” Angie commented, and Faith stood up, mentioning something about bringing a doctor over.

Angie gripped Will’s hand. “Don’t try to speak. The doctor’s say you’ve suffered extensive trauma to your larynx, and if it’s not managed, you might permanently lose your voice.

His voice. His last mode of communication.

“Will, don’t panic.” Angie must have seen Will’s bloodshot eyes expanded tenfold at the horrible prospect. She turned to the table beside them, grabbing a whiteboard and pen, passing it to Will.

He refused to take it.

“Will, it’s me. You were trying to tell me something, so whatever it is must be important.”

Angie was right, she usually was. He gripped the pen and very slowly begun to fill it up with a combination of words and images, hoping that Angie would understand.

He held it up to her, watching Angie’s eyes pour over the board. She nodded, understanding exactly what was going on.

“Thank you Will.” She gripped his hand, and stood up, turning Faith around at the door, no doubt to catch his attacker and the girl’s kidnapper.
