HAPPY SELF INDULGENCE SUNDAY

This weekend, @dumpsterfirecee and I indulged with moodboards! One for a potential fic/an actual fic of ours, and one for our personal au.

For the fic moodboard, I did one for Fear of the Dark, which is my latest labour of love; it's set in the universe of the The Lost Boys, and the RC's band is inspired by The Hex Girls from Scooby Doo. It’s rare that I'm ever 98% satisfied with a fic of mine, and I've been loving exploring this universe and the dynamics between Eddie and a vampire/rockstar! reader. Lowkey sad it’s a fic that’s gotten the least interaction, but regardless I'm really in love with this au and I think about this pairing at all times :')

Here's the summary:

'Underneath a sunset that feels syrupy-sweet, Eddie wanders alone around the Santa Monica breeze.' A year after Hawkin’s great ‘earthquake’ Eddie drives to the other side of the country in the hopes of dealing with his trauma in sunny California, where he finds himself infatuated with the lead singer of HEX. Upon getting to know her, he soon realizes that not all monsters live in an upside-down dimension, but not all of them are out to get him… 

Now for my personal au!! there were a lot of pics I downloaded that I had to leave out because I got too carried away last night (might’ve gone to bed super late fantasizing and doing my moodboard lol) — got me thinking about personal HC's which I hadn't really done before, so I'm gonna go ahead and add them. Might as well be fully self indulgent.

Eddie and I met in the 7th grade. The teacher sat him next to me because I was the quiet kid and hoped Eddie would stay still in class for once. But to their disgrace, Eddie noticed my notebooks filled with band stickers, so that's when the teacher realized that Eddie could make even the quietest kid talk like crazy.

By then I was already a fan of classic rock and metal but I was amazed by Eddie’s in depth knowledge of it. Thanks to him, I really got into some the deep cuts and albums of my favorite bands that I hadn't listened to before. I got into Dio because of him, really.

We started a little tradition of exchanging tapes, though he was the one that had the best selection, he'd probably already listened to everything I gave him before, but he gladly borrowed them anyway.

One band that I could never get him to like is Oingo Boingo (LOL). Their earlier music was just not his style at all, and it wasn't until the Dead Man's Party album came out that they started growing on him. That, and because I always pestered him about them (if you know, you know).

It wasn't until our last year of high school that we confessed our feelings. Everyone around us could see our chemistry, except for us. It wasn't until the anxiety of separating after graduation kicked in, that we realized just how much we cared about one another. We started dating after I got out and started working and he got held back.

Our date nights include: going to the drive-in, going to Family Video and renting the most ridiculous B movies we can find; going to concerts obviously!, watching MTV to catch Elvira's Movie Macabre on Friday nights, and taking naps together 🖤

we're always tired because we're working hard for a better life so naping does count as a date :') sometimes he falls asleep on me when we’re watching TV and I have to snap a polaroid of it because it’s too cute. But he also likes it when I make hot chocolate for us after we wake up from a nap —cozy-ness to the max.

In this universe I'm still a photographer, so my favorite thing ever is to experiment my portraiture with him :') I take the pics for Corroded Coffin’s flyers and the ones that end up going to their first demo album cover.

And in general we do a lot of silly things together, like when I threw on that skull bra and he totally ran with it. He’s my silly man, through and through :’)

And he always indulges me in whatever crazy and elaborate costume idea I have for halloween. Like when we were Elvira and Bob in '88 after we saw the movie (my first post of this au lol) and when we dressed up as fancy vampires (the first pic)

By more recent, I mean things that haven’t yet been included in a volume release-- (so from chapter 12 onwards, i believe--)

I’m only asking this of you all because I haven’t got a way to buy them myself currently, but I’d like to have more resources to make icons for the RP accounts I run-- and also because the only possible source I’ve found for free atm is a site that’s pass protected, but not in a language I can read-- so, trying to get in has been rather tricky for me... So, if any of you lovelies would be willing to help me out with this in someway or another, I’d be very grateful-- TTwTT

eden+image+style are easy to find by themselves at like 3usd each and it's a bundle so the shipping will be cheaper but still, there are always listings for these cds available

lunacy is not my fav album, but i like all the songs and it has two of my faves. most d*scogs listings sell it at 40usd+ but it's hard to come by re: shipping

fierte no umi has a like two songs i don't care about and one song i dislike, i love all the other songs tho and most listings..... start at 60usd....... it's also kinda hard to find
