[English below] Tuve la alegría y la suerte de traducir al castellano un texto clásico de la teórica de la cultura holandesa, Mieke Bal, el cual ha sido publicado recientemente en la última edición (2/3) de Canal: cuadernos de estudios visuales y mediales. El texto en cuestión es “El compromiso con el mirar” (The Commitment to Look), el cual fuera originalmente publicado el 2005 en el Journal of Visual Culture. Me han dicho que esta edición de Canal quedará oficialmente online en abril, pero me han autorizado para compartir ya. Así, si sus intereses están, o bien tocan, los estudios visuales, escríbame un DM y le envío el texto o bien la edición completa si prefiere. *** I just had the joy and the privilege of translating a classic text written by the Dutch theoretician of culture, Mieke Bal, which has been recently published in the last issue (2/3) of Canal: cuadernos de estudios visuales y mediales. The aforementioned text is “The Commitment to Look”, which was originally published in the Journal of Visual Culture, in 2005. I have been told that this issue of Canal will be officially uploaded in April, but I have been authorized to share it already.
