The supernatural phenomenon behind the 'fiery red-eyed demon' that roams the school halls.... that's what Shuichi was tasked with investigating. This time, at the desperate request of Usami, who has reported seeing that mysterious entity, along with other students. The way she sounded so scared, and her wish to ease her students' worries, along with her own.. it's why Shuichi couldn't possibly say no. Just like with any of his clients; he will not rest until he succeeds in helping them. The truth behind what everyone is actually seeing, is what he's determined to unravel. Not only him, but also his small kouhai who has actually joined him.

"Alright, Yuma... we're here." The two now stand before the main gate. With how dark it is, the giant school looks even more imposing... "I know it's very late right now, but I appreciate you wanting to join me on this. As I believe you said that your brother...also saw this 'fiery eyed spirit' one night, if I'm right? Described just how Usami and everyone saw it... this really is strange.. but, there's no way it's an actual demon everyone has been seeing, right?"

"...No, of course not. There definitely has to be a logical explanation to all this... and we're going to find it, by uncovering the truth. So that Usami, your brother, and everyone, can rest easy... I know we can do it; especially with my talented kouhai by my side." He chuckles softly, giving a small pat to his back. "That being said, trying to find anything, let alone a person, in this gigantic school, is like finding a needle in a haystack. So this might take quite a while; are you ready, Yuma? Though I'm sure you're fully prepared, even while knowing that, anyway."

The initial sleepiness that Kaede was feeling after a very long and fun night of partying, melted away in a new wave of excitement when Mondo proposed the idea of having breakfast together at a waffle place, wiggling happily in his arms when he had picked her up. Trying new eateries that she hadn't been to before was one of her most favorite things to do, even moreso with someone else; that someone being her favorite biker, making it all the more better!

Even as she rides in the passenger seat in his motorcycle, Kaede wasn't afraid. After all, it wasn't a bicycle; that's different! Plus, she's gotten a little bit used to it, and with Mondo always making sure she's okay while riding in it; she knew she had nothing to fear. In fact, she was all smiles as she watches the passing scenery. "Ahh, I'm so excited to try this place out! I can't remember the last time I had some waffles; I can't wait to see what different kinds they have~! I know you said you heard of it, so will this be your first time trying it, too, Mondo?" She asks while looking up at him with a curious headtilt and smile!

"So I take my bat to get it upgraded with all the new materials I got from the dungeon. Turns out it was enough to take it to the next level! I couldn't believe it! In fact, I had so many materials that I decided to-" *ichi suddenly cuts himself off as he gasps and looks away, an incredibly happy smile on his face as he turns towards the building the two are walking in front of*

"Zhao! I know I heard... you...?" *however, his smile drops as an utterly bewildered look spreads across his face. turns out the two are walking past a police station, the only person in ichi's line of sight being someone who he assumes to be a detective, the boy with brown hair and a tan peacoat currently preoccupied with a phone call while walking in the opposite direction*

"Hu..." *ichi rubs the back of his neck as he bashfully looks who he's having a little stroll with, an embarrassed smile on his face* "S-sorry about that. I could have sworn I heard my buddy just now. Guess it was just my imagination, heh."

"Ohhh? Heh heh, nice!! Bet you gave it all the best materials to give it the highest stat increases you could, huh?" He snickers, as Phanty amusingly hears Ichiban tell him all about his latest dungeon escapade! Though he'll come to a halt and curiously blink when seeing Ichiban trail off and look away like that. "Mm? What's up, Ichi? Zhao...?"

A tilt of his head, he looks towards the building Ichiban was looking at, only to also see that it wasn't his friend, but rather: that brown-haired detective boy on the phone! "Ohhh... looks like it was that boy talking. Think he's a detective? Since he came out of the police station: he looks pretty young. I wonder if Bro knows him..."

Then seeing that embarrassed look on Ichi's face, he gives a small chortle and wraps an arm around his shoulders, giving him a few supporting pats~ "Heh heh, don't worry, don't worry! He must have sounded just like him for you to think that was him at first, huh? It happens!! Maybe one time, you'll hear his voice and it'll actually be him! It's okay~!"

"Since Kaito told me such a wild story yesterday, I want to hear one from you too, Little Koko!" *ichi is as excited as ever as he rests against the side of yuta's bed, a few unread manga scattered around him*

"I'm sure you have lots of amazing adventures, especially since you're a super smart detective! Even if it's something small, I wouldn't mind hearing it! I want to know some of the crazy things you've seen!"

"Hm? A wild story from me?" Yuta looks up from one of the manga books he was reading and towards his uncle in surprise! "E-Ehehe, thank you. Y... Yeah, I guess you could say that. And "crazy" is putting it lightly, frankly. Let's see... oh, I suppose I could tell you some of the amazing abilities I was able to use during cases, thanks to my friends from Chief's Agency assisting me."

"Have I ever told you about Fortes, uncle? They are special abilities that some Master Detectives have. Mine is called Coalescence. Basically, after being given permission by a Forte haver to borrow their ability, I hold their hand to activate that power. For one of my first Kanai Ward cases where we had to solve several locked room mysteries around town, one of my detective partners had an ability where you can literally see the state of a crime scene in the past! It was very helpful in collecting clues and evidence that otherwise would have been gone."

"Then for another case where I was basically like a spy like Uncle Phanty, one of my other partners has an ability where he can disguise himself, and so for us to be able to investigate inside of an all-girl's high school, w-we... disguised ourselves as a high school girl, me, and a teacher; him. It was pretty embarrassing, aha..."

"My third case was probably the craziest of all, with having to defuse bombs in several different areas throughout the city, being chased around by Peacekeepers, and eventually: an entire district literally flooded from the water bank pipes being destroyed! We had to travel through all that with a boat and everything.... and my partner who helped me there, had the ability to rewind time several seconds back, literally!"

"And then when exploring the city's gigantic lab, the one I investigated with has an ability where you can practically turn yourself into a ghost, while your real body sleeps. E-Even for me, it's still so unbelievable when that happened.... but yeah, it really goes to show just how amazing Fortes are, huh? And that I can borrow their abilities if they let me. If using RPG terms, I guess it's like my own special magic power? Ah, and speaking of which... out of all my detective partners and friends, I have one special one who was by my side through it all. She... um...doesn't exactly live where you can easily visit her, but if you two could meet... I know you'd get along wonderfully. She's a big Dragon Quest fan like you are! And while always loves to drive me crazy, I wouldn't replace herself with anything else in the world. She... is the reason I was even able to go on those wild 'adventures' through Kanai Ward like I did. I owe her a lot."

("Aww, Master~!") Blushing, Shinigami brushes up against him, making the Koko chuckle!

Then realizing how long he's been going on, his cheeks turn just the slightest red as he scratches his cheek~ "O-Oh man, sorry, I didn't mean to ramble on so much! I know a lot of this sounds insane, even compared to Kaito's adventures, but it was thanks to everyone helping me, that I was even able to solve such bizarre cases. Nowadays, I do a lot more normal cases ever since leaving that city, which I'm definitely not complaining about. But it'd be nice to see all my friends I met there, again, sometime... He rapidly laps Kaito's cheek when he picks the tiny puppy up, excited curiosity growing even more when they're both now wearing chef hats! "Rarf!! ♪⁠ " He does excited little hops, more than ready to have a very fun baking day with Kaito~!

*the boys are going back and forth while the tiny maltese happily runs circles around them while wearing a little pirate scarf! he stops only when he sees someone approaching and instantly goes to circle around them instead, giving squeaky, little barks while his tail wags~!*

"Ohhh those boys... at it again, huh? I'm surprised they're not playing the role of rival pirate captains of their own teams, hahaha!" Chuckles Bobby, as he walks towards them! Seeing Chuck run towards him and circle around him, only makes his smile brighten as he kneels down to give the squeaking puppy some soft scritches~ "Why hello there, little pirate! My, you're very fluffy and adorable, aren't you~?" He coos, as he now lifts him up in his arms, nuzzling him in them before he announces to the pirate bros:

"Halt! No need to fight upon yourselves, gentlemen! If you cannot compromise with words alone, then perhaps you both should have a friendly duel, with the victor becoming the leader, if not the Pirate King keeping his position! I, a simple detective that is currently traveling the seas, would be most curious to see..." As he adorns his Sherlock outfit, even having a classic smoke pipe and everything~

*when the chef enters the room she'll find something odd peeking out from behind one of the kitchen counters, it almost looking like a... question mark? and if she were to get closer it will sway a little until she'll suddenly find that it's attached to a small boy's head! his eyes are incredibly wide as he stares at her, the boy in the middle of picking up some cutlery that he had accidentally knocked over!*

"I'm so sorry, I-I didn't mean to cause any trouble! I-I was looking for where the detectives train and thought it was in here but I saw that delicious dessert on the counter and I wanted to take a closer look a-and I accidentally knocked over some forks and knives and I know I shouldn't have been in here b-but I was trying to clean up before anyone else arrived and-!!!" *the poor boy's so panicked that he's barely taken a moment to breath...*

".....?" Kaede had to halt in her steps for a second, making sure she was seeing things right. A tiny question mark... popping out from behind the counter? Well, that is: until she saw it was just the ahoge of a very small. "Um..." When he looks at her, she gazes right back. Who was this, she wonders? She's certain she's never seen him, before...

She didn't expect him to start going on a panicked rant, though, making her jump a bit in surprise. "Woah!! Oh, that's-!" She's frantically nodding her head to let it be known she's catching everything, but she wants him to calm down!! And so, she quickly goes over to grip Yuma's shoulders, as she yells out: "Calm down!! Take deep breaths..."

She then deeply inhales and exhales, gesturing for him to do the same. "Okay...now.... first off, it's okay. It was an accident. Thank you for wanting to pick them up for me. And I never mind visitors! I'm flattered that you wanted to take a closer look at the cake~ But now to get to the part where you said you're trying to find where the detectives train... Um, I don't think they necessarily have a 'training' spot, but the detectives I know, Kyoko-senpai and Shuichi, do work in a detective office. Are you... a detective, too? .....! Wait.... I think Shuichi mentioned to me once that he's recently been mentoring a trainee. Could that.... be you....?"

While she didn't expect they would meet like this, she's still happy that they could, now giving the boy a smile~ "If so... it's nice to meet you! My name is Kaede Akamatsu, and I'm the Ultimate Chef. I'm a friend of Kaito and Shuichi's, and all the bro friends, hehe! So that makes us friends, too~! Now, you're trying to find Shuichi, right? I'll take you to him! Then maybe we can all enjoy some of that cake, later! I'm sure you'll like it~"

"Sorry again for dumping all this responsibility on you. I know it's a lot to take in, especially with how young you are." *the incredibly tall detective smiles as he settles into the chair, eyeing the much smaller detective in front of him*

"He's pretty reserved, shy even, so I know getting him to open up will probably take a bit of time. Then again, I've been told that you're pretty quiet yourself so I'm sure the two of you will hit it off just fine. Birds of a feather and all that." *he chuckles, easily able to imagine the two tinier detectives bonding while not saying a single word to each other*

"Hey, don't tell the others I said this, but I'm glad he'll be here. This seems like a far more peaceful place than Kanai Ward's ever been. This is somewhere you can walk around without feeling like you have to watch your back constantly. We've all been though quite... quite a bit together. Yeah, I'll just leave it at that. Maybe some other time I'll regale you with some of the crazy cases we've had to deal with." *there's a proud smile on his face as he sits up just a bit straighter, a mischievous glint in his eyes partially hidden by his large, circular glasses. however, his demeanor just as quickly shifts as his face drops and he gives him a rather pathetic and somewhat strained smile, yakou quickly covering his stomach after it loudly rumbles*

"S-sorry about that! I got lost trying to get here and by the time I finally arrived was no way I could've ran into a convenience store and made it back without being late. Damn it, I almost nailed that first impression too, haha... augh..."

"N-No, it's no trouble at all. I would be more than honored to do this, sir." Shuichi with a smile of his own, albeit a nervous one. It still felt hard for him to believe that he was going to be training someone, himself. Before then, Shuichi was always the trainee, specifically under his uncle's teaching. Yet, Yakou is entrusting to him. He did not want to let doubts cloud his mind, but he wondered to himself...would he able to do a good job as a mentor? But as Kaito reassured him; if he truly was incapable, then he never would have been chosen to train Yuma in the first place. Trying to remind himself of that mental note, he nods along as Yakou explains.

"Ah, yes, haha... I heard we are quite similar like that. And knowing that feeling very well, I could sense he has a quiet and shy demeanor, too. I..will help to become a comfortable presence around Yuma, so that he can feel okay, opening up to me." It was why he wants to shake his own nervousness off, as he would hate to present that kind of demeanor around Yuma when he sees him. As he doesn't want to be just a mentor to him, but a friend, too.

"I see...then, I'm relieved as well. I did hear that Kanai Ward was not..a safe place to live. Rest assured that Yuma can feel much safer, here. Ah, I understand! I can imagine you both have been through so much that isn't easy to really talk about. But when you are, I'll be curious to hear about it." Though when You suddenly gets embarrassed when his stomach rumbles, Shuichi can't help but laugh, before waving a hand in assurance that it's okay. Not exactly at him, but just found it funny since it was so unexpected. It still did help him relax a bit more, his smile looking less nervous as well.

"I-It's okay, it's okay! I still think you made a great first impression to me. I mean it; it's why I'm so honored to be able to talk to you like this, Chief Yakou. A great detective like you...putting so much trust into me like this. I...won't let you down. I promise to bring out the potential in Yuma that I know he has. Even if he's a trainee, I believe he deserves to feel proud of himself, as a Master Detective. So I will help him...gain the confidence so he can feel proud!" And he meant it; Shuichi, a boy who also struggled with confidence and feeling proud of himself... will want to help Yuma so the same, as others have done for him. Yakou, his uncle, Kaito and the others; they all believe in him. He refuses to let them down.

"That being said, could I offer you anything from the kitchen, sir? I'd feel bad if you sat there, hungry...it's the least I can do!"

"I don't need a Pokémon Center, I need coffee." *after a long day, pikachu looks wilted as he lays on the couch, the tiny detective laying completely flat on it as he struggles to get up. he tries to push himself off only to tumble headfirst to the ground and whine as he lays on his back, refusing to move again*

"Please... It's the only thing that can nourish me..."

"Oh hoh hoooh, Pikachu... you and your coffee, I tell you! And I say that in a 'I totally get it' kind of tone. Haha!" He laughs, Bobby patting the tired detective's back!! "A long day, huh? I feel ya... I had a pretty busy one, too; but hey, you're off, now, and can look forward to some good 'ol relaxation! Oh!!"

He gasps when Pikachu tumbles to the ground, looking concerned for a moment before giving a relieved sigh when he seems okay... "C-Careful, now!!" He sheepishly smiles, before picking Pikachu up and making him sit upright on the couch!!

"Theeere we go... and alright, alriiight, heh heh: leave it to me! Barista Bobby is gonna whip you up the most rejuvenating cup! P taught me a lot of his expert coffee making techniques, so I'll make absolute sure that you love it~!"

"Ku..." *mondo looks incredibly pissed as he stares at the cards in his hand, his gaze shifting between it, the game board, and his bro right in front of him! somehow he was convinced to play a tabletop where the players try to guess the murderer, how they did it, and in which room, but mondo's at a complete loss despite trying his best! suddenly he looks away while there's a huge scowl on his face, his foot thumping against the floor in annoyance!*

"I have no fuckin' clue! All these clues an' testimonies an' shit don't make any sense! Nothing is addin' up, it's just one mystery leadin' into other mysteries! Are you sure there's actually a way to beat this thing?!"

Shuichi was honestly still surprised that he was able to convince Mondo to play this mystery tabletop game with him. He knew this wasn't Mondo's kind of thing at all, but he was genuinely curious to see how well he'd do at this. Though as he watches the biker get increasingly angry, he could tell that....maybe this wasn't a very good idea...

With a sheepish smile, he gets out of his seat, so he can lean over and rub his shoulder. "N-Now, now, Mondo, calm down... don't let yourself get too frustrated, or you won't be able to think clearly. It's just like mysteries in real life, right? Everything sounds so confusing, a lot of things will not seemingly make sense at first; but as you go through the evidence and testimony, and slowly piece things together; everything will gradually begin to make sense. So yes, I'm positive this is solvable; in fact, I've already got a pretty good idea on who the true culprit is after finding out the murder method and location, and re-reading the testimonies to determine who was the only possible person to match with both. So, I know you've got this, Mondo! You're smarter than you give yourself credit for. Just cool your head, think about everything your cards are informing you about, and then you'll start to see things make sense. I'll be more than happy to provide small hints, if that helps, too."

"Mreep!! ♪" Smoker joins the trio excitedly, climbing on top of Kaito's stomach and walking up his body towards his face! "Mrr~?" An innocent little head tilt in regards to not going overboard with his powers, he instead decides to 'bless' Kaito with his powers, via giving his nose a small lap~! He'll try to make sure not to accidentally cause a heavy rain fall, but at least make the weather cooler with a light rain!
