Changing Tides

Summary: Self aware au by @yandere-daze . Eichi thinks you're finally ready to accept the life he's given you. But war is coming...

A/N: um....sorry to those of you who were following this series... it's been a long time since I updated it...hope you're all still here 😭

Chapters: One Two Three Five

He had invited Wataru to a dinner to celebrate their anniversary. But it was secretly for another purpose.

"It's time," he said, standing up from his seat, his stomach fluttering in excitement as he observed Wataru's confused but ecstatic grin.

He walked to the nearby door, opening it to reveal you. Dressed in finery, and looking better than you had in months. Still skeptical, but less so than before. No longer terrified. Healthy. Radiant.

"Amazing," Wataru whispered, seemingly scared to speak too loud. He slowly approached, reaching out to you, but hesitating until you gave a nod.

He fell to his knees, grabbing the hem of your shirt and sobbing into your stomach.

"I'm so honored to be able to bask in your presence," he said through shuddered sobs. You looked over to Eichi, a pleading expression on your face, but he couldn't do anything, not when the sight before him was filling his heart with so much joy. His God and his lover.  Together. Embracing. Life was so wonderful. If he hadn't been religious before now, this would have awoken something in him.

He finally gave in to the urge to hold the two of you close, wrapping his arms around you, and bringing you both down to Wataru's level. Tears began to fall from his own eyes, and soon, all three of you were crying together. He was certain after the months of trying to "fix" you, you were crying for different reasons than them, but you weren't fighting.

So he could ask for nothing more.

For now.

With a bang, the moment was ruined.

"Beloved Emperor!" A voice called out.

Eichi immediately stood, moving into a defensive position in front of you and Wataru. The worst had come to pass. The entirety of Eden had broken into his home, just when he had finally brought you out from isolation.

He could fight someone.

He could kill someone.

"Saegusa," he hissed through a painfully gritted smile.

"You have stolen something that's not yours. Our beloved Y/N belongs to all of us…or, at least," he grinned, "Y/N belongs to those of us who can properly take care of them."

"Ah! I just want to hold them!" Hiyori whispered to Jun, who was the only thing holding him back. 

"Soon," Jun whispered back. He had originally planned to follow Ibara's plan and negotiate. But now that he'd seen you, in person, he realized he'd fight anyone just to keep you to himself and Hiyori.

Nagisa, meanwhile, couldn't even speak. All he could do was stare. You were everything he'd imagined, and more. He had not been this at peace since you'd vanished.

So Ibara was left to negotiate alone. And part of him was pleased with this. He would always be the best at it. And besides…if he could show you his worth….

"We have discussed it with various other units, and we are in agreement. You cannot hoard the producer. They belong to the people."

You stiffened, but he couldn't let that stop him. He'd come too far.

Once you were in his arms, you'd learn how to love him. That's just how his beloved producer was.

"To put it plainly, there's two of you, and we have an army. Even if you manage to defeat us, another army who will be far less kind to you, is being formed as we speak. Take us to war, but know it will only end in heartbreak for you. And for our radiant producer."

You released a whimper, the tension of the room was getting to you. And despite how Eichi had been slowly trying to prove to you that no one meant you any harm, the threat of "war" was bringing back Anzu's initial brainwashing. You had to leave this room. You weren't safe here.

"Please! It would be such a good Hiyori if I could hold them," Hiyori whispered seductively into Jun's ear, hoping to appeal to his softer side, particularly as you began to shake. No one seemed to notice but him, all of them focused on the confrontation.

"Soon, I promise," Jun hissed, not sure if he could hold himself back any longer.

Eichi could only hope Wataru was calming you down. He wasn't watching you, his attention solely on Eden as he stared them down, but he knew what this had to be doing to you. And he'd worked so hard…

Suddenly, you released a singular choked sob, and he spit out, "I'm sure we can negotiate."

"You're so wise!" Ibara said with a grin, seating himself at the table that Eichi had been happily having his dinner at moments ago.

"Valkyrie, 2wink, and Crazy B would all like to share a slice of the producer's time. Akatsuki and Mam have chosen to remain neutral until we have settled into a deal, and the rest are preparing to take down your home, your life, everything, in favor of "rescuing" the producer. Though, I'm certain once they got a hold of them, they wouldn't be able to let go, no matter how good their intentions."

He said the last part to frighten you into submission, but it wasn't a lie. He'd spent little time in your presence and was already ready to throw out the deal, his career, and his own unit mates.

"Eve, you may do as you wish," the wild cards of his unit rushed to you, cooing in your ear, and petting your hair, Jun gently holding your hand, Hiyori sliding into your lap, and nuzzling into you in search of affection. 

And Wataru? Well, he never minded sharing his god. Your beauty deserved to be shared! It's why he loves his life the way he did!

"Sit, emperor. We have much to discuss, and we are running out of time to do so."

Eichi bit his lip, sitting at the table and preparing for what would be a painful discussion.

General Yandere! Hiyori headcanons

Hiyori is definitely a very interesting yandere! I feel that as his darling, you would know pretty early on that he´s into you. He´s a very passionate and expressive person so I imagine he´s very eager to let the entire world know just how obsessed he is with you 

He likes to tell other people that he is superior to them due to his royal ancestry but for some reason that he himself can´t quite explain, he doesn´t want to do that with you. People often tell him that that sort of behaviour is off-putting and he doesn´t like the thought of being disliked by you

Being hated is actually one of his greatest fears, something he doesn´t like thinking about either, so it´s completely out of the question for him to leave a bad impression on you, the one he cares so much about!

Because even though Hiyori tends to act selfish, he has a tendency to get easily attached to others and has an urge to take care of them

Only with you, these urges to take you in and provide for you are even stronger

Due to his family, he has plenty of money at his disposal, more than most other people could ever hope to earn in their entire lives. So it´s not a big deal if Hiyori frequently purchases expensive gifts that he knows you have been yearning for, or when he invites you to dinner in a fancy dinner that you feel way too underdressed for. While you´re still wondering how he had managed to rent out the entire restaurant on such short notice, he´s just excited that you two are finally on a real “date”

He strikes me as a tad delusional, at least to the point where he doesn´t think the way he feels for you is wrong in any way. He´s Hiyori so of course his emotions for you are going to be a bit intense! It´s perfectly normal, right?

He´s very touchy and clingy too, seemingly never wanting to leave your sight and sulking whenever your attention isn´t focused solely on him. Why are you paying attention to those nobodies when he´s right here next to you? Don´t you love him?

Please, he needs your love to stay alive! The mere thought that you might not feel the same way has him shaken

But hasn´t he done everything he can to impress you? Hasn´t he been taking good care of you?

Hiyori is convinced that the other people in your life are the reason why you aren´t falling for him and it makes him very angry

While he´s remarkably soft around you, others do not get the same pleasure. Instead, he acts very snippish and cruel when talking to someone he doesn´t deem worthy of his time and this is especially true when he suspects that the person in question may have played a part in driving you away from him

Insults them for being of lower class and mocks them outright, saying that they aren´t even worthy of breathing the same air as you. Do they really think that you actually care about them and aren´t just taking pity on them because they´re just so pathetic? Really, how dare they have the gall to even try to get close to you?

Hiyori has everything you could ever need, you don´t need them to make you happy. He could make you happier than anyone else! You could go on cute and fun dates together every day and just forget about all other people and duties you may have needed to attend to! They don´t really matter when the two of you are together!

He could even buy cute new clothes for you so the two of you finally match and even strangers will be able to see you are a couple! Isn´t that just wonderful? He´ll dress you up in the prettiest outfits and you´ll have so much fun! Why, Hiyori almost can´t contain his excitement so it´s best you two leave this insignificant bug behind before his mood makes a rapid change for the worse and he actually starts threatening that poor person

He may not want to get his own hands dirty but with the right amount of money, anything could be achieved

They better not get in his way again, for he might not be so kind the second time

Hiyori may be the most chaotic and energetic person you have ever know in your life.

When your parents are with you two, he will act like an angel but behind doors he's a literal devil (jokingly)

He loves to steal some of your clothes that can fit him, especially cardigans or any sweaters.

He will force you to take pictures of him.

He believes that you're the perfect photographer for him.

Hiyori loves to give you headpats and surprise hugs!

Whenever he comes home early he will surprise you by shouting "welcome home!" or will make a prank for you.

He really loves it when you two watch bittersweet movies late at night.

You two would cry together if the scene made you two tear up.

I can imagine him preparing a lot of ice cream whenever it's movie night!

When he noticed that you're not like yourself today, he will try his best to comfort you by spending time with you.

He will take you to many places like a restaurant, garden, parks, and amusement parks.

He absolutely loves your smile and will protect it no matter what <3

If he founds out that you're getting bullied he would be so frustrated.
