Elven goes Comic Park Artist Alley 2023
Tumblr media
Here it is, the post I threatened to make! It's gonna be long and full of ramblings, but I wanted to write everything down and idk, maybe you'll find it interesting to read! xD
So, this was my first time tabling at an artist alley. I had applied to another con near-ish me a couple of times in the past but never got accepted, so I was quite floored when it worked here at first try this time around xD I was hella nervous all the way up until the day I actually had to go and leave for some reason. Beforehand, I gathered some inspo at other cons for table setups and invested a little bit in one of those wire-shelf thingies, cause since it's very modular I would have also been able to make good use of it if it turns out artist alleys aren't my thing after all. I got a small collection of prints printed, I wanted to stick with a theme (namely, my original fantasy stuff, since fanart is a legal grey area and I wanted to be on the safe side - also, themes are nice!).
I managed to fit everything I needed for the table into two big Ikea bags and left on Friday noon for the con (we were allowed to set up starting at 2pm that day, the actual con starting on Saturday at 9am). I also set up two small shelf units for putting on the table upfront to save some time!
Tumblr media
My cat was not impressed.
Setup and everything worked out without problems, the helpers were all super kind and welcoming. The only thing that was kinda chaotic was that the con organizers and the owners of the location (the artist alleay was in a whole new building, and the location overall is insanely pretty) seemed to kinda work against each other in a way xD Communication didn't quite work, and I think if we as artists and our helpers had received at least some kinda document or ID or a little coloured wristband that said "exhibitor" or something, it would have prevented a lot of arguments and delays. But alas, maybe next year!
Since I had a quite long drive and didn't wanna do that twice every day, I stayed at a hotel nearby. It felt a little like a mini vacation, which was nice xD Cost-wise, I would have ended up paying the same amount in gas that I paid in hotel fees.
As I said, as soon as my table was set up, all nervousness from before had kinda vanished and despite my days starting super early and ending very late, I had a blast overall xD Only thing is, I didn't sleep well (but I rarely do when I know I have to get up early, the anxiety of missing my alarm haunts me in my dreams).
Tumblr media
My view for the weekend xD I love how creative some of the other artists' setup was, let alone how amazing their art was! There was a huge variety of styles and products, from prints to pins to handmade jewelry and plushies, and I didn't even get the chance to see it all xD
I guess this being my first table and the fear of accidentally missing out on a conversation with someone who likes my stuff I kinda didn't dare to venture very far from my table xD So I didn't see much of the rest of the con, but thankfully a lot of people found their way to the artist alley anyway! My personal highlight was having the ultimate, first-hand V experience. I randomly look to the right, and suddenly:
Tumblr media
Johnny fucking Silverhand! Including an ominous duffle bag that might have said NUKE... or NIKE, not sure... (find him on instagram @_iggyizzy_). Had a short convo with him both days, he was absolutely living his role, and yes xD Best quote that'll stay with me: "Don't make me laugh, or my beard is gonna come off!" Cosplay problems, I relate so hard :D
Some other highlights:
Explaining my dark fantasy world and setting with the target group "21+" to some very enthusiastic young kids who liked the pretty pictures xD
Talking to other creative people and seeing their projects - also loved the fact that there were several others tabling for the first time, and they all had different approaches that I all loved!
In general being told my art is good by complete strangers who know nothing about it was a huge ego and morale boost xD And being able to talk about a very dear-to-me project I'm passionate about in general was awesome
Talking to likeminded people who got inspired what I was doing <3
Nerding about my favourite video games with people
People really liking my inktober stuff a lot, which I wouldn't have expected
Ending the con with a long conversation with two cosplayers/gamers/creative people discussing tabletop games, Dragon Age, and Cyberpunk for about half an hour :D Was such a nice note to end the weekend on!
As I said, upfront I read up on some random resources online, some dos and donts and useful tips for artist alleys. Some of the tips really paid off ("pack a little emergency bag containing all sorts of materials to improvise if need be") which was useful to adjust some price tags and stuff! Others didn't quite turn out to be as accurate, with my most expensive item selling best in comparison to more affordable ones. I also hadn't planned on offering doodle commissions (which I'd seen people do at other cons) but I will definitely do if I ever get a table spot again, cause they were quite popular. And they made me realize once more why I miss doing commissions and will get back into them soon here, too!
Kinda negative things that come to mind regarding the whole experience are really minor actually, as I mentioned already the slightly chaotic organization here and there, but overall there were always good workarounds to that available, too. And I think/hope next time will work out better! A personal annoyance (but that is just my life in general xD) was getting misgendered quite a bit cause I'm not really passing, and me being too scared of irl confrontation in that reagard to correct people XD But I'm working on it. On the other hand, also had a really nice convo with a fellow queer dude about the abundance of pride flags and stuff, which was fun xD
And what I also learned is that the majority of people who do this regularly work Monday-Friday jobs... which makes sense, that enables you to go to cons on weekends, cause you always have the weekend off. Me, I get one weekend off per month at random (I could request specific days, but they're never guaranteed). So yeh... time to find a better dayjob I guess, if I wanna do this professionally xD Or luck out with my day off requests.
Anyway though... my personal takeaway and what I'd do differently next time:
I enjoyed the whole thing a lot more than I would have guessed
I'd make my stand more visibly lgbtq+ themed, to get people interested in queer fantasy art and writings that would walk past generic-looking dark elves
Also I'd add somewhere that this is an original project I'm working on, cause most people I got talking to assumed "oh this is just dnd stuff" and were pleasantly surprised when they learned "no, this is actually a whole setting and story"
I'm gonna wear a name tag with my pronouns on it (I wanted to do it this time but chickened out at the last moment, cause I'm just with one toe out of the closet irl and got too scared XD one challenge at a time)
I did like how my table was set up overall though and apart from some minor tweaks would set it up like this again
I would like to try to walk around more and get talking to other artists more, but I was too glued to my seat and table and everything (also, mild social anxiety, but everyone that I did talk to was so kind, so yeh XD one challenge at a time!!)
So yes. So much to my report on being at an artist alley the first time XD Would love to try it again some time, cause I had a blast, and cause of the stuff I'd like to improve on.
I still have a bunch of leftovers, too, posters, postcards, and a few booklets... But for now I'm gonna set up a Ko-Fi-Shop (which I'd wanted to do for a while) and put some things there for the time being. Once it's up and running a post will follow!
And if you read this far: thanks for reading ♥ xD

The knight and the two elves ch.2
The knight didn’t find any footprint of the elven woman among the other footprints “Too many footprints in the area” He stands up and walks to the martial artist to help them with pulling the paladin and the mage from the river. The martial artist looks at the knight as he pulls the mage out of the river “Where have you been when we got attacked by a giant squid?” The knight pulls the paladin out of the river and looks at the martial artist with the corner of his eye “I was investigating the area and the squid was an illusion made by a horned elven woman” the mage catches her breath and looks at the knight “What?” She uses her staff to help her stand up “That’s impossible. The elves were extinct thousands of years ago” The knight adjusts his shield and looks down at the mage “You know that’s not true. Since you can sense. And she has the octopuses that we are looking” He walks away from the group and looks around the area for the elven woman “Search around while I search for them. There are bound to be more” the group look at each other and search around together. Danny scurries around grabbing everything that she possibly can think of being important and throwing them into a circle drawn into the ground, chanting an incantation and shrinking everything into a satchel "Lucy we leaving" she shouts at Lucy "Do you have everything?" she yells at her daughter. Lucy comes in running with a large backpack and looks at her mother "I got everything" she walks to her mother and puts the backpack inside the circle "The old bridge is clear we can escape to the old mill across the river" Danny nods "Go and take this I'll catch up as soon as I’m sure they are gone" she shoved Lucy onto the direction of the bridge "I love you and stay strong they will go away " Lucy hugs her mom as she runs to the direction of the old bridge. Danny climbs up the old watchtower of the village waiting it out for the invaders to leave, she leans against the tower wall and looking down at the town "Damm" she wipes her forehead "I'm exhausted I must have used too much of my magic there" she thinks to herself and closes her eyes for a few seconds.
The knight returns to the church, kneels, and pull his sword “I’m sure there are footprints from that elven woman” he ignites his sword with a fire spell, looking around, and notices a set of footprints leading to an old watchtower “Bingo” he follows the footprints, extinguishing the flames on his sword and using the cover of the night. Danny sits down looking down at the misty night sky wondering if she and Lucy are gonna have a peaceful life instead of having to run and hide in fear. Danny wipes the sweat off her forehead realizing how tired she is.
The martial artist wonders and looks at the mage "What are horned elves?" The mage takes her book and flips through the pages "The horned elves are the ancestors of the normal elves, they have great magical abilities, unlike their hornless descents. It's said that a set of their horns is equal in worth to the fortune of 4 noble families" The martial artist looks at the paladin with a smile on his face "If what our knight friend said is true, we will consider ourselves rich" The paladin looks at the martial artist "Typical human greed. You two can take my share and the knight's share" The mage smiles and laughs "That amount of money will last me and my family for at least 5 generations" the martial artist cracks his fists "I will rip those horns" He chuckles from the thought of the elven woman begging for death.
Danny pulls herself together, standing staring off into the distance, seeing Lucy figure disappear off the old bridge and into the forest. "Good, she will be safe," she thought. "Now I can plan the second wave. I hope it will work" she walked wobbly to the center of the tower platform. "For this spell to work I need to focus," she thinks to herself and starts gathering magic particles around her emitting a faint glow around the tower. Danny focuses on the cloaking incantation and doesn't notice the knight nearby. Lucy makes it to the rundown mill and opens the old rotting wooden door "Gotta be here" she scurries looking for the lever that leads to their escape tunnel under the mountain island.
The knight notices the tower’s faint glow and stops “It must be that elven woman” He looks around the tower’s base, sees an open wooden, and walks into the tower, heading top stairs. Danny drops to her knees taking deep breaths "I'm at my limit, this is bad" she catches her breath and sits on the ground
The knight reaches the top of the tower, busting the wooden door open with his shield, and looks at the elf woman on the ground “???” He walks to the woman, noticing her outfit, using his cape to cover her, and helps her up “Are you okay” He looks at her, sitting her on a chair, and looks at the spell drawing on the ground. Danny nearly falls over trying to sit right on the chair. Looking up at the knight seeing his armor knowing that she would not win against him in the state she is now. "I .." she holds her head from the dizziness, realizing the knight’s cape is on her, and turns to look at him all confused.
The Knight looks at the elf woman and points at the spell "What is this spell for?" His helmet covers his face, leaving his amber glowed eyes visible with their lion-like irises, looking directly into the woman's eyes. Danny shivers to see his amber eyes glow through the helmet ." First tell me who sent you" she asked, raising her eyebrow. "Depending on your answer I might stop the incantation" she raises her hand emitting a faint blue glow of magic showing that she makes the circle disappear.
The Knight sighs, stands up, and looks down at the woman "Me and the other 3 that came with me are adventurers. We got a request to hunt your tropical octopuses for a cook of a noble house" He puts his shield on his back, taking a chair near him, and sits on it "Tell me, who are you, woman?" He crosses his arms and inspects the woman in front of him.
Seeing the knight’s calmness, Danny drops the circle pulling the knight cape closer to her feeling how warm it keeps her. "I ...or we, me and my adopted daughter are the last of our kind." She explains"My past itself is still unclear as I still don’t remember how I came to be on this island but it’s because of this island that me and my daughter are safe. I am a celestial elf but my daughter seems to be a normal elf." she explains, "We've been living here our whole lives away from the outside world ever since I found out that people hunted elves horns for their magic." she shivers. Looking up at the knight she smiles weakly "I beg you please don’t take the octopuses because If you do more people will come here if me and my daughter are discovered even more then I fear the worst." The Knight stands up and walks to the tower's window, giving his back to the elf woman "You are giving me a hard choice to make, woman." He looks at the ruined town to see where the group he came with are located "The reward for the octopuses is high and if we bring them ourselves, more adventurers will come here looking for the octopuses" He looks at the woman and walks to her "And if that happens, your worst fear will come to life" He gives her his pouch and walks back to the window once more "The pouch has a mana potion in it. Use it to restore your mana" Danny takes the potion opening it "Thank you kind knight " she drank most of it feeling her magical energy coming back. "There is a way at peace here," she says getting up walking to the knight's side looking at his amber eyes, closing his cape closer to her as she feels the cool night air. "The old elves that lived here had a vault down in the catacombs filled with gold and jewelry, If you and your party promise not to tell a single soul about this place you may take as much as you can carry" she explains
The Knight shakes his head and looks at the elf woman "I don't disrespect the tombs of the dead, and I don't think the other 3 would agree with that since they know what you are. As I assume that they are going after you for your horns and probably you will be sold as a slave after your horns are removed" He notices her unusual blue eyes and pink under the moonlight which he sees for the first time. Danny sigh looking out the window "Was worth a try at least "her ears fall flat. "I don't wish that life on me or my daughter is the reason why we've been hidden here for 120 years,” she says as she rests her hand on the window’s frame.
The Knight looks upon the ruins once again and notices a light moving in a dark alley "You should follow your daughter" He cracks his neck and walks to the busted door. Danny nods looking back at the knight taking off his cape holding it out to him "What’s your name kind knight?" The Knight stops, looking at the elf woman, and takes his cape "Call me Lion" he gives her his back, descending the tower, heading to his companions, and confronts them. Danny wonders "Lion? Does he have Lion beast powers? Could explain those gorgeous amber eyes" She blushes. "Snap out of it" she thought, shaking her head making her way down the tower, through the field to the old bridge.
Lion puts his cape on, takes his sword and shield out "This is as far as any of you will get" he stands in front of his group with his shield up and his sword ready. The Paladin chuckles and pulls his sword "So, you decided to show your true colors, Knight?" The mage opens her book and prepares a couple of spells "You don't have a chance in defeating us" Lion walks steadily towards them and keeps his guard up "I will take my chances" The martial artist cracks his knuckles and smiles "Then come at us" Lion looks at the 3 of them, calculating his odds, dashing forward and attacks the mage.
Danny stops at her house rummaging through one of the chests looking for her sword. "If he is going against his party, he's going to need help," she thought, grabbing the blue sword and jumps over the broken door in the direction in which she saw Lion going. "I hope he's okay" she wonders as she ran as fast as she could.

The Baroness + The Arcanist
The hooded Baroness made her way down the water-slick alleyways of Boralus. Her heels clicked, accompanied by the distant sounds of drunken festivities. At the midway point, she raised a knuckle to the bricks of the towering building and knocked, just as she had been instructed. Once, twice, three times. And then she backed away.
The stones wavered and, where dark stone had once stood, black oak took its place. The newly-fashioned door creaked as it was drawn open. On the other side of it, a tall, thin Kaldorei woman wearing a gown that would make Elune weep.
“Good evening, Lady Sunbane.” The Kaldorei stood aside, welcoming her guest into the building. Upon entering, the Kaldorei silently offered to take Kato’s cloak, to which Kato obliged, shrugging free of it.
“How are you, Miss Nightweaver?” Kato inquired, knitting her fingers together behind her back as she watched the Kaldorei woman.
Thelwyn Nightweaver hung up the baroness’ cloak on a silver hook by the door. She soundlessly rounded the baroness, her head tilted down respectfully, “Quite well, Lady Sunbane. And yourself? I do hope the journey was safe. I understand you weren’t on Alliance territory as of late.” Thelwyn led Kato further into the shop.
It was a welcoming place, elven architecture stretching high above them in peaked arches of silver. Candles floated above them, emitting a low light. Quills and parchment scratched on their own like mice. Moonlight washed over the room from a large door, a balcony on the other side of it. This would be impossible, of course, as they were in the low-alleys of Boralus, not the towering spires of Suramar. Kato’s eyes clung to the balcony curiously, the outside world nothing like the streets of Boralus she had just come from.
“I am well.” She eyed Thelwyn suspiciously, “I was conducting business on enemy land. I support the war efforts of the Alliance.”
Thelwyn paused then, tilting her head slowly, “I did not mean anything by prying, Baroness. My apologies if I have offended you.” The arcanist’s dress shimmered about her legs as she walked to the desk in the middle of the room. Kato’s gaze washed over the Arcanist’s back, the expanse of flesh marked by a shimmering tattoo. It was clearly of Highborne origin, exquisitely designed with the steadiest of skillful hands. The Baroness wondered who the artist was. The Arcanist weaved her fingers over the desk, a floating candle swooping down to illuminate the collection of papers and tools there.
Kato hummed an acknowledgement and nothing more, turning her eye to the balcony. She approached the open doors, the curtains billowing in the breeze. The world beyond the balcony stretched far below, a valley with a thin river winding through it. The mountains could barely be seen against the dark star-lit sky.
“What is all this?” Kato motioned to the balcony and what lie beyond it. Thelwyn offered a smile.
“Simply little illusions. Paintings are always nice, but it’s so much nicer when they move.” Thelwyn gave a light hum of laughter, “A little something I learnt in Suramar.” She snapped her fingers and the balcony melted into its frame, growing into a flat painting of a balcony with a view. Kato pursed her lips as she inspected the Arcanist’s work. Thelwyn continued, breaking Kato’s thoughts, “I have finished the project you wished for. I do hope it’s up to your standards, Baroness. I left it as best I could to its original appearance, as you did say it was an heirloom.” Thelwyn was holding a small black box now, taking her soundless, gliding strides toward Kato. She paused before the Baroness, gracefully extending the box to her.
There was the slightest hint of hesitation in the Baroness, but she took up the small box. The moment the box left her hands, Thelwyn turned away and busied herself elsewhere in the studio. Kato watched the wispy woman for a moment longer before she pried the box open, revealing her pocketwatch. It looked as it had when she had given it to the Arcanist a few weeks prior. She plucked it from the box and turned it over.
“You will find the only variations are the hands, which had to be changed to a more conductive metal. A small price for the outcome.” Thelwyn spoke, absent-minded, as parchment floated before her, her eyes scanning the words.
Kato opened the pocketwatch and found the golden hands replaced by a cool silver, though they remained just as delicate as before. She turned it over in her hands once more, brows furrowing, “How does it work?”
Thelwyn took a few moments, her attention on the gathering scrolls about her. She finally stole her gaze from the written words and approached Kato, her hands falling together before her, fingertip-to-fingertip, “Turn the hands to twelve and then push on the button used to open the watch. That activates the rune I placed within the clockwork.” Thelwyn spoke with a slow wave of her hand, “It took quite a few tries but my partner was a willing test subject, for lack of a better term. She too is a Ren’dorei.”
Kato did as Thelwyn instructed, listening to her as she continued to tell her tale of how she went about enchanting the pocketwatch. With the hands set at twelve, a push of the button, and in the blink of an eye, Kato’s void-tainted skin was washed clean.
“Oh, you look so lovely, Lady Sunbane.” Thelwyn chirped before her attention went back to her floating parchments.
The Baroness looked over her arms, seeing the pale flesh she had once been used to. As she tilted her head forward, her hair fell into her peripheral. White-blonde waves curtained her face and a quiet breath escaped her. She looked to the Kaldorei, “How did you know what I looked like before?”
Thelwyn hardly twitched an ear, waving a delicate hand and casting one of the parchments to float over to Kato. It turned to a mirror as it came to Kato’s front, reflecting her Sin’dorei reflection. She looked just as she once had, before the corruption of the Void. An unwelcome emotion crossed her face momentarily, wetting her eyes.
“The illusion cast here is not one made up like an ill-fitted mask. What this illusion is doing – if you want the specifics – is merely covering corruption, restoring what would be.” Thelwyn looked briefly at Kato as she explained, “It’s a tad bit more complicated than merely making a copy of your Sin’dorei appearance, but it will keep anyone from taking on your likeness should they get their hands on the pocketwatch.”
“And what if someone does get their hands on it?” Kato’s tone was curiously sharp, defensive.
Thelwyn paid no mind to the Baroness’ tone, “Depends, really.” The Kaldorei turned from her papers and held out her hand Kato, “If I may-” Kato returned the pocketwatch to the Arcanist – her Void appearance returning the moment it left her person – and watched. Thelwyn lined up the hands and hit the button. Her arcane-tinted eyes became purely silver – though without their Night Elven glow. The slight pink hue to her hair drained to leave it pristinely white. A gentle smile pulled at Thelwyn’s lips, “For me, it only takes away the small effects my magic studies have had on my physical appearance. Mine are not as drastic as yours are. My partner, upon testing this, took on her Sin’dorei appearance as well, though it also took it further than that. Fel-corrupt eyes of the Sin’dorei are also hidden. That is the one thing I could not figure out with the illusion. I do hope that is not too much of an issue.” Thelwyn handed the pocketwatch back, and upon leaving her touch, the effects of the arcane returned to her.
Kato gave a slow nod, watching as her Void-darkened skin turned pale pink once more. She pocketed the watch then, recollecting herself and standing tall, chin raised.
“I do forget, Miss Nightweaver, what we discussed for payment. I assume a respectable sum of gold to be acceptable?” Kato inquired, watching the light, airy movements of the Arcanist as she continued her studies. Her repeated disregard for the Baroness was beginning to strike a nerve.
Thelwyn’s ears pricked and she waved the flock of parchments away. She folded her hands in front of her and smiled warmly, “As you may understand, I do not have much need for gold. I can disguise a simple stone as a gold coin if I truly needed to.” Thelwyn’s posture was relaxed – leaving the Baroness surprisingly unsettled. Thelwyn swept a piece of her wild curls away from her face as she spoke, “What I would truly ask for as payment would be my sister’s contract.”
Kato’s blood chilled. She hid it spectacularly well, nary a flinch or raise of a brow. But she could see in the way Thelwyn remained careless, relaxed, that she knew what she spoke of. She was not poking and prodding for answers. Thelwyn already had them. She had laid out her trap and Kato fell for it without flaw.
“Your sister’s contract?” Kato inquired, doing some poking and prodding of her own, “I don’t believe I am familiar-”
“Alryeth Nightweaver.” Thelwyn interrupted coolly, as though she were talking to a casual acquaintance and not a viper, “An Illidari that came to be under the employ of the Harlequin Gang, Lady Sunbane.”
Kato made a silent display of remembrance, “Oh, do forgive me.” She pressed a hand to her chest, “As a business woman I deal with so many.” Kato gave a slow shake of her head, “I’m sorry if I am the bearer of bad news... but your sister passed some time ago.”
“I am aware, Lady Sunbane. That is why I ask for her contract. I wish to collect all things pertaining to my sister, as is my right as her blood relative.” Thelwyn gave a gentle smile, her eyes half-lidded. She was leaning against her desk now.
“I am unable to give you the contract, as it was binding between employer and employee. There are so many messy laws.” Kato gave a pitiful shake of her head and knitted her fingers together behind her back, shoulders held back.
Thelwyn chuckled like a child, “Yes, but considering my sister is now deceased, any contract that bound her would be finalized, null and void.” Thelwyn paused, watching the Baroness for a few silent moments. The Baroness saw it then, the shift in her body language; the way the arcanist lifted her folded hands, fingertip-to-fingertip, not quite relaxed anymore. Thelwyn continued, “I know you are a wonderful warlock, Lady Sunbane. Your reputation precedes you. And I know that warlocks do not think of death as the common folk do. I imagine the contract signed by you and my sister covered the happenings of death, should it arise.”
Kato tilted her head away from the Arcanist, glaring down her nose, “You are clever, darling. I seem to have underestimated you.”
Thelwyn gave a light shrug, “I know it is your gold that is sent to my doorstep every month, as I assume was agreed upon in the contract. And I know it is not the Alliance that you aid in your independant business efforts.” Thelwyn’s voice remained light as though she were discussing yesterday’s dinner and not blackmail, “I am asking for the contract as a show of respect and good faith, not because I cannot acquire it. Regardless of your answer here, I will have that contract.”
The Baroness narrowed her eyes at the Arcanist. The silence was deafening. Though Kato’s stare bore into Thelwyn, Thelwyn’s eyes wandered about her place of work. Kato moved her hands, the slightest spark of Fel at her fingertips. She saw it, in that moment. Indeed, she had underestimated the Kaldorei. The Kaldorei’s visage wavered in that miniscule moment of threat. She was nothing but a conjured illusion. One that could be touched and heard as much as it was seen. The error of Kato’s assumptions ate at her inside. How could she have grown so foolish?
“Very well.” Kato said, resting her hands in front of her, mirroring Thelwyn. “I will have the contract delivered to you. Is this address prefered?”
Thelwyn – or the illusion of – shook her head, “That won’t be necessary. I just needed your verbal approval. I had someone go pick it up while you were testing out that new pocketwatch of yours.” Thelwyn smiled and lifted her hand, a sealed envelope materializing between her fingers. Kato recognized the symbol in the wax, knowing all too well it would match exactly to the ring on her finger.
“I am not one you wish to make an enemy of, Arcanist.” Kato spoke directly, her voice growing sharp.
Thelwyn pushed off from the desk, the contract vanishing the moment it left her fingers. The Kaldorei glided effortlessly towards the Baroness, towering over her. Her finger hooked beneath the Baroness’ chin, tilting her head back.
“I have been walking Azeroth’s lands far before you were even an idea. I will be here long after you are forgotten.” Thelwyn’s face remained expressionless, half-lidded gaze weighing on the small Void Elf, “Don’t forget your cloak on the way out, Lady Sunbane. It’s quite cold on nights like these.” Thelwyn stood upright, her finger slipping free from Kato’s chin as she turned away. Her form collapsed in on itself, confirming that Thelwyn had never truly been there.
Kato stood where she was for several moments, teeth grinding as she processed what had just occurred. Just as she was wrapping her mind around it, the desk became a pile of torn bags, spilling chicken feed. The floating parchments and candles disappeared. The balcony sealed off and the silvery walls melted away to reveal rough brick and molding wooden beams. The high-arched ceilings were no longer, the rafters of the true ceiling hanging only a foot above the shocked Ren’dorei. The floor beneath her feet was packed dirt, water having gathered about her boots. The pristine workshop of the Kaldorei had been nothing more than a cellar, an immaculate display of spellwork.
Kato made her way out of the cellar, retrieving her cloak from its place on a broken crate. She ducked into the alleyways, her mind left reeling.
