“[...] the Queen and her family were serving their King and country in ways that benefited its commerce and its educational and religious institutions.”, writes Arlene Okerlund. So, let's talk... Education! I have already talked about the Wydeville children's education, as well as the entire family's love for lecture, now the family's charities with Colleges! Elizabeth Woodville took great interest in saving the Queen's College, Cambridge. A contemporary account of the college’s founding names Queen Margaret (Marguerite d'Anjou) its ‘fundatrix nostra prima’ (first founder), and a second account names Queen Elizabeth as ‘vera fundatrix’ (true founder), because she completed the founding when, sadly, Queen Margaret was unable. Queen Margaret intended for the college to ‘laud and honour [the] sex feminine’, an idea Elizabeth agreed with as she was determined to save the college when Edward was determined to dissolve the institutions created by Henry VI. She issued the College's statues, the College received a licence for property worth £200, what Henry VI also provided. Cooper’s Memorials of Cambridge states that Elizabeth ‘set aside a portion of her income for the endowment of the college’. As seen, Elizabeth obtained many privileges from King Edward. In 1471, they were visiting Eton College very frequently. Henry Bost's memorial writes ‘Illius auspiciis elemosina conjugis uncti Edward Quarti larga pluebat opem.’(‘For his [Bost’s] benefit, the abundant generosity of the wife of the anointed Edward IV showered wealth.’) However, 👑 Elizabeth wasn't the only one interested in the patronage of this college. Her brother, Anthony, was very generous, so much that the Eton College kept a tradition for him and his family on 30 October. It began in 1475 and continued until the reign of Edward VI.
A historian from the Queen’s College writes about Queen Elizabeth: Piety, natural reason and her duties as queen combined to make her “specially solicitous concerning those matters whereby the safety of souls and the public good are promoted, and poor scholars, desirous of advancing themselves in the knowledge of letters, are assisted in their need.”
When Queen Margaret first founded the Queen’s College, Elizabeth Woodville was 11 years old!
Bibliography: of course, my favourite 📖 about Elizabeth, England's Slandered Queen by Arlene Okerlund!

Edward’s mother will know this pain. She will know the loss of her son George. I swear it. You have lost a son and so shall she.
What should that achieve? It will not bring them back.
