today on the channel i’m comparing the elemis pro-collagen rose cleansing balm against the clinique take the day off cleansing balm, so see which one is officially the better cleansing balm.

after months of raving about the clinique take the day off cleansing balm, i wanted to see how it stacked up against my OG elemis pro-collagen cleansing balm, so i filmed this really fun video. now, because i already know how well these both remove makeup, i only wanted to test which one made my skin feel better and which one i preferred. however, as the test went on, some interesting and unexpected observations popped up.

Burt's Bee's Cleansing Oil (I use this first as it melts all my makeup off, then I properly wash my face)

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm (use this around my eyes to wash away my eye makeup. the Burt's Bee's formula makes my eyes burn and I hate using makeup remover wipes if I don't have to because they also burn and dry out my under eyes. BUT this is super expensive for what it is, so it is most definitely not something i recommend unless you can afford it. It does last a while though)

Thayer's Unscented Witch Hazel Facial Toner

Sunday Riley B3 Nice 10% Niacinamide Serum (Helps with Dark Spots, redness, and to brighten overall complexion. With my past with hormonal acne, I have some dark spots and hyper-pigmentation that this has helped tremendously with)

I'm more than aware that many of these products are not. realistic price wise. and i'm sure there are tons of dupes and cheaper products that do the same thing!! buuuut over my skincare journey when my face changed back in my early twenties, i chose to spend more on certain products just because it was worth it to me and my facial appearance, personally.

hi omg thank you no this isn't weird at all!!! i love talking about this sort of stuff!!! sorry if this is a bit long i like to ramble!!

honestly its 90% makeup my skin is really dry and dull and i straight up look ill without any ahahaha

personally i always go for a glowy skin look even if i have spots/marks to cover up because if i use anything matte/too full coverage it just dries my skin out even further and i’d rather have spots on show than have my skin get super dry. i’ve stopped using concealer over any spots have because i just found it made them look worse and on me it looks more natural just using my foundation as normal - if they’re not completely covered up then so be it!

primer - too faced hangover  foundation - mix of charlotte tilbury hollywood flawless filter with either charlotte tilbury light wonder or dior forever skin glow foundation concealer - charlotte tilbury colour corrector, ysl touche eclat (under eyes only) powder- charlotte tilbury airbrush flawless finish (normally just under my eyes) bronzer - most of the time its nars laguna

i use lots of different highlighters and blushers but most of the time i use a liquid/cream highlighter then powder blush and highlight over the top because the highlighter underneath makes a really difference in adding glow for me. i always use the mac fix + as a setting spray and it also keeps my skin hydrated so my foundation doesnt go dry and crusty on me!

skincare wise i use the lush ultrabland as a cleaner day and night and use the elemis pro-collagen cleansing balm or garnier oil infused micellar water (the blue one) to take makeup off. in the morning i use pixi glow tonic, cerave eyecream and cerave spf moisturser. at night i use the glow recipe watermelon toner, glow recipe avocado eye cream, charlotte tilbury serum and the charlotte tilbury magic cream. i’ve just found through trial an error that these are the best combination products to keep my skin hydrated and keeps spots away!
