Just like her brother, even if she'd kill you if you said this in her presence, Summer is very often attention-starved. She might be Beth's favourite, her parents' choice when it comes to picking between her and Morty, but it doesn't mean that she gets more than the bare minimum. Or that she gets said attention on a regular basis.

So, while she might get easy crushes on popular / good-looking people like most teenagers, the real way to win her heart is to show genuine interest in her. Be it by making time to spend time with her, listening to her bitching about her family, taking her out / letting her take you out, or even just sitting together during lunch break and chatting.

To sum it up, what wins her over is being there for her. Not her as an obligatory choice between two, not her as Rick's granddaughter or Morty's sister. Her as Summer Smith, independently from her family and other connections.

This is the reason why she's friends with Nancy, in spite of what she says and how she treats the other girl at times. Nancy likes Summer for Summer and she gives her attention, without demanding anything in return, not even the same treatment.

Summer loves gifts. Beth and Jerry have never been great at providing emotional support and attention to their children, but they have always made sure that they had everything they needed from a material point of view. Food, clothes, presents (no matter how lame) on their birthday and for the holidays.

So, both Morty and Summer have grown up with the unconscious ideas that "presents = love". Nowadays, they both know that the equation isn't valid, but it's still something well-rooted in their subconscious. While Morty has started to get over it, thanks to Rick's (unhealthy, demanding, twisted) attachment and attention, Summer hasn't really had a chance to do the same yet.

So, if you want to get in her good graces? Woo her? Get her to crush on you? Turn her into a loyal friend? Buy or make her stuff. She likes cool clothes and jewels the most, but anything works. Make-up, flowers, body / hair products, books she could like, tickets to a concert, even just the invitation to some popular party. You name it.

There's a part of her that's aware of how easily she "sells" herself at times, and she also knows how vulnerable this can make her. Yet, she dismisses it as something she can deal with, something she's tough enough to face. It's easier than digging out the roots of why she's turned out this way.

Something I meant to clarify a while ago already; I am highly selective with whom I ship Shredder with. I had even considered having him single-ship with Clarissa/Chance only a bit ago. While he can be genuinely romantic (opposed to be just a sarcastic & sassy asshole), I prefer to reserve it to only very few actually.

So far, the only individuals I can see him get romantic with are @dynamoprotocol's Clarissa/Chance and @moonromantic's Virote. And somewhat towards my Krang, even tho their relationship is more of an eternal divorce, but if you know, you know.

Those words stopped Rick in his tracks. He didn't realize that the conversation had swerved directly right into the overly sexual with his counterpart. Usually it was that easy to get lost in such flirtations mixed with a bit of work talk. However, this time, he lost where he had been along with what the original conversation was about.

And if he had a bit more control, he wouldn't have gotten so explicit in front of his girlfriend. Especially given how things were between his boyfriend and Clarissa.

"Sh-Shit, Clarissa, y-you scared the fuck out of me, I thought you left or something," Way to make a big deal out of something so small to cover up the fact that he felt so very embarrassed about forgetting her. "Uh, right, l-let's just get back to wh-what we were doing,"

And if there was a hint of disappointment in his voice, it was meant to be covered by his rapid movements. Already making sure the workbench looked tidy and gathering the essential tools in order. Who knows what they would need for the project that the three of them planned out.

👽// My own muses? Yes. ALL the time. It’s inevitable that Doc and Ophelia will bring each other up in threads, either in dialogue or part of the narration! Their stories are so deeply interconnected, that it… lowkey makes it impossible to ONLY and SOLELY interact with one of them.

Sure, they have their own threads without the other being around— but depending on what certain dynamics someone might want to write with me, it’s inevitable if not required for the other muse to deal with the other, sooner or later.

Unless of course, that’s a plot point— some sort of cat and mouse sitcom soap opera shenanigans, THAT’S FUN!! (i’ve talked to another mun about this possible scenario and we’ll see how things play out once we start writing all the involved muses together more, but excited to see how it unfolds :3c)

The best thing hmmmmm. There are a lot of really good things about it tbh, one of them being the attention to detail for the little things in the films. There are so many easy-to-miss details throughout the three films that hint at Doc's life or just future film events (the clock in the opening scene of pt. 1, Doc's train shirt in pt. II, etc), the effort that went into recreating scenes from pt. 1 to reshoot for the different perspective in pt. 2 when they went back to 1955 and I really love that.

But to me, beyond the fun time-travel adventures, the best thing (or at least very much at the top of the list) about the franchise is how prominently the theme of the power of love rings out and rings true across it. The series is about time-travel and breaking that barrier and seeing what happens, yes, but it's about love in all its forms and how it can quite literally save your life.

Doc saves Marty, Marty saves Doc, Marty saves himself, Doc saves Clara, Clara saves Doc, Jen saves Marty, on and on and on it goes and these are people who will do anything for each other and I just really love that. Their bonds are strong, you can see how important they all are to each other, and even in the game where the timeline's fucked (again) it still holds true.

I'm a sucker for relationships that span space-time and these ones just get me.

And now for the WORST thing. God. Part of me wants to say the decision that they made to just leave Jen and Einie in 1985A while Doc & Marty go repair the damage they've done as opposed to taking them along with them. Sure, we're meant to believe that Jen spent the entire time unconscious sleeping on her porch but how's that comforting?? That was a mess tbh.

BUT NO.

I think I have to say the worst thing is what they did to Jennifer in the comics. Honestly, they completely annihilated her character. Whether they did it to try and really hammer home hey, this is a different reality now! or they just didn't know what to do with her, I can't say, but she was a completely different person than she was in the film and I just couldn't get behind that.

I can't imagine Jennifer of all people would treat Marty as harshly as she does in the comics and just seemingly not care.

Jerry's favorite is his green polo shirt. Unsurprisingly, he has multiple pieces of that one in his drawer. But his favorite signature shirt aside, he also likes sweater vests, cozy cardigans, and windbreaker jackets. His style is mostly casual and somewhat old-fashioned. He prefers natural colors, such as brown and green. He definitely prefers basic shirts without any motives on them. Jerry wears suits for special occasions and ugly Christmas sweaters during the Christmas holidays. He normally respects dress codes and adapts his attire when needed without any fuss. He cares a great deal about his clothes being tidy and clean. He doesn't really give brands much of a mind unless he gets hyped into something or makes occasional desperate attempts to appear relevant when something catches the attention of his entire family for some reason.

Hey Morty and Summer how do you feel about Chance, anyway

The Smith siblings exchange a look at the question, as if to check if the other wants to go first. They have thought for that spot way too many times not to be expecting some competition whenever the chance is presented.

In this particular case, however, the matter is quickly and quietly sorted as Summer shrugs, as a way of saying that Morty can start. After all, her brother is the one who has the closest connection with chance, so it's fair for him to go ahead.

If Morty is a little surprised by Summer's quick and easy surrender, he doesn't show it. He just looks excited, even if it's to tell if it's because he gets to speak first for once or because he's looking forward to share his thoughts on Chance.

"I-I think he's great! H-He's so cool and nice and badass an-and he's always patient with me. He teaches me things, n-never get upset if I ask him to explain something again or-or if I get distracted while we're doing stuff together," the boy starts to rant, words tumbling out of his mouth a little too quickly.

Still, even if it might not seem, he's being careful and watching his tongue. The temptation to say that Chance is better company and a better mentor than Rick is bugging him from the back of his mind, but he ignores it. If he were to voice that thought, he would regret it. Not just because the scientist would most likely do something petty in retaliation, but also because it's not true.

Chance's company is more pleasant, and that's undeniable, but the bond he and Rick have just can't be topped. For better or for worse.

"W-We get along really an-and I thinks that he actually likes talking to me?" And isn't that a first. Usually people engage him in conversation only if they have no other choice. "I-I mean, I talked to him when he was Clarissa's too, b-but...I don't know. T-Talking to Chance is easier? I-I think it's because he's more...you know. A-At peace with himself and his past. C-Clarissa struggled a lot more an-and it made me wish I could do something more to help..."

His voice trails off for a moment, as his expression sobers up a little. He remembers very clearly each and every conversation he and Clarissa have shared, and he can recall just as clearly how much they cost her. However, this isn't about the gloomy past. He wants to talk about how amazing Chance is, because he deserves it, after everything he has gone through and overcome.

"H-He helped me with...he helped me figuring out some stuff an-and I really appreciate it b-because even when he was, uh, pushing me out of my comfort zone, h-he was nice about it, you know? An-And he talked it out with me, i-if I started to panic a little."

He still feels a little stupid to have made such a big deal about his romantic orientation, especially considering what his life is made of and the people in them, but he is also sure that it would have taken him much longer to make peace with it without the man supporting him.

"I-I guess it's nice to be understood? An-And wanted without second aims. B-By someone who's much smarter and better than me." After so many years or being, at most, everyone's second choice, being pick first feels good. "I-I learnt a lot of stuff from him. An-And got to show him what I-I can already do. U-Usually no one...really bothers with it, so..."

Not to mention that Clarissa / Chance have been sort of open to share a very personal trauma of theirs not to make him feel alone.

"B-But, uh, what I meant to say is...C-Chance is a wonderful person. H-He's suffered a lot, b-but he still has...a lot to give, you know? An-And he doesn't shy away from that, b-because he wants to be the one w-who decides what defines him. I-I...He's a model for me. I-I hope that, one day, I'll be at least half as brave as he is."

A small, almost shy smile curls his lips as he finishes and he fidgets in his spot, like he's expecting to be criticised or mocked for what he has said. He doesn't think that Chance himself would, of course, but he knows the rest of his family too well.

Thankfully, Summer seems to have paid little attention to his speech because, aside from the occasional eyeroll, she hasn't tried to voice her opinion on what he has said. She's obviously too focused on figuring out what she should say. That means that he'll be spared...for a few hours, at least.

"Chance is, like, fun to be around? I guess. He's more Morty's friend, he doesn't hang out with me as often." Just as Rick. She's starting to wonder what about her idiot brother gets him the attention of the coolest people of the multiverse. "But we did some stuff together. Went to the movies, gamed against each other, he carried my bags at the mall...Stuff like that."

She can see that Chance wants to be in her life, just as Clarissa has tried to be, but things are...different now. It has nothing to do with gender, it's a matter of changed priorities and behaviours.

"I'm not saying that I liked him more as Clarissa than I do now, because I know that they're, like, the same person. And I'm super happy that he found himself and that he's feeling okay with who he is. Like, about time. Morty is right, he deserves to have a good life. It's just..."

Her voice trails off again, as she tries to find the way to put her thoughts into words without sounding utterly pathetic. The last thing she wants is to come off as a whiny attention-seeking brat. Still, she is a little resentful about Chance favouring Morty, even if not as much as Rick does.

"I guess Clarissa and I just hit off better," she ends up saying, with a little shrug. "Even if Chance doesn't take is too badly when I call him 'step-grandpa'. Clarissa always got either annoyed or uncomfortable."

And, sure, Clarissa hadn't really been in a relationship with her Rick, but other Rick was her Rick too, in a way, so that still counted as Clarissa dating her grandfather.

"And then there's the whole hormone thing." She rolls her eyes. "I already have to deal with Morty jerking off everywhere in the house, Grandpa Rick, both of them, bring home his hook-ups for the night so he can fuck them in the garage...Not to mention how they are constantly all gross with each other. Then there's Dad trying to act 'progressive' and saying, like, the cringest things ever."

She almost shudders at the memory, but she manages to recover her cool quickly, as per usual.

"I really didn't need to add a horny step-grandpa to the list. He's wheezing out as many hormones as my brothers. I don't mean, like, any offence, but yikes."

First of all, you -- I'm amazed by your writing skill. It's so effortless and yet descriptive. So simple and yet complex !! It's definitely one of my favorite writing styles !! It's clear you put a lot of focus and care into whatever you write and for that, it's very mesmerizing and fun to read !!

@somniaxperdita -- Vic is definitely one of my favorite writers on this site. She is also someone who goes into depth and sets the scene wonderfully. I just love the words she chooses. It's an inspiration to me and it's one of the reasons why I enjoy writing with her !!

@countlessrealities -- I've told Scotty this a bunch of times, but they have the most wonderful writing. The balance between action, introspection and setting up the scenes is so well done. They really inspire me as well and I've actually learned a lot from writing with them. Specifically on how to be more descriptive. Since that's something I've never been good at. This woman is wicked smart; calculations run through her head quick and efficiently. She's always thinking a few steps ahead and you can see it in how she ties her hair up in a bun. When she's about to devise a plan, her hair has to go up.

She's physically affectionate; she'll remind you she cares with fleeting touches. Casually holding your hand, fixing your collar, brushing hairs away, etc. Terrah is not afraid of PDA here and there when she's in a relationship.

She has a pretty voice, which is often heard when she's humming while working. She's always singing with her records when she's doing chores, reading, etc. It's soothing to listen to.

With her very left-brainedness, she can be very, very blunt and critical. Now, as she has grown up, she has learned to temper her honest feedback, but there will be times when she just spits out an absolute barb for NO reason??? Like, honey, why you calling me sloppy in front of our friends??

Man, this woman is good at stonewalling people. If she's upset with you, angry, etc, it usually takes a WHILE for her emotions to boil up, so instead of feeling her emotions out, she'll just cut you off for maybe HOURS for her to cool down and think of a rationale for how she felt.

Adding on to that, she is AWFUL with healthily processing her emotions. Like, she believes everything has an equation or explanation to it, so if she can't explain how she feels, she just compartmentalizes it. Like, when y'all are dating, and she realizes the fun flirting is more than that, she's doing math in her head to try to figure out what she's feeling. Terrah, it's love, honey, it's okay to feel that?? You can tell people you love them!!
