headcanon
Jake and Mc love to watch cartoons under a blanket with a warm drink [tea, hot chocolate etc].
this is their favorite way to spend time together. "Zootopia" or "Toys story" on a cold winter evening, why not?
bonus: Hackerman loves to sing "let it go" from "Frozen", poor ears Mc;).

My Duskwood Headcannons:
Jake is the tallest of the group, beating Dan just by an inch (Dan will never admit that though)
Dan is the first boyfriend of Jessy’s that Phil actually likes—they bonded over their love/knowledge of alcohol.
Richy has had a crush on Jessy ever since Middle School.
Jessy and Lilly are both bi, and is one of the few things that they have in common.
Hannah had a small crush on Phil in High School.
Jake loves to cook, but is horrible at it. It always turns into a disaster, so he usually sticks to pizza and Chinese.
The exact opposite, Thomas is amazing at cooking, but doesn’t like too (although Cleo can sometimes get him to help her cook).
Jake and Dan both drink Black Coffee.
Jessy gets a fish and names it Richy.
Thomas’s first love Hannah, and he proposes to her a couple of months after she gets rescued.
MC studied computer coding in college, but dropped out because they lost interest.
MC and Dan have movie nights (mostly action and horror).
I can actually agree with almost all headcanons. However, I actually think that Jessy and Lilly have a lot in common. And the headcanon with Jake and cooking doesn’t quite apply to me either. I think that Jake finds cooking very annoying and he doesn’t care. Besides, he has absolutely no desire for it and has never really learned it.
But I can absolutely agree with the rest, especially with the head canon about Thomas and Hannah, I imagine it exactly the same way.🤭 Same with the one about Richy being in love with Jessy and Hannah with Phil. This is so accurate. 😂
Thank you so much for sharing your Headcanons with us, I am very happy about it. 🥰
And please excuse my late reply, I hope it’s okay for you. Have a great day/evening/night! Take care of yourself and stay healthy! 💚

I've been busy for the past few days so writing and editing has been slow. Please enjoy a longer chapter to make up for it.
Also I decided now to clearly state that Duskwood is in Germany... (while using the US parole system as headcannon cause I can't be bothered researching the German system...) This is why you shouldn't start fanfics before an episode release! 🤣 Maybe one day I'll feel motivated enough to fix up the inconsistencies throughout the series.
Unrecognisable Part 22
The sound of bird morning calls woke me up. Initially I thought I had left a window open as they were so loud. Then I saw my surroundings and remembered where I was. I was still lying on top of Jake in an old barn that had miraculously not fallen down on us through the night.
“Good morning,” Jake kissed my head.
I squinted at him, “Oh God, what time is it?”
He was doing something on his phone, but I couldn’t make it out. He swiped to check the time, “Almost 6.”
“Mmm, I can’t believe I actually fell asleep,” I nuzzled my face against him to block out the light. “You should’ve woken me up.”
“No, it was fine. You needed the rest,” he rubbed light circles on my head with his fingertips.
“What are you doing?” I tried to work out what was on his phone screen.
“Playing Candy Crush,” he answered nonchalantly.
“Wait, what? Seriously?” I lifted my head up. “You’re wasting your phone battery on Candy Crush?”
“Well, no, this is your phone,” he admitted.
“Hey! Give me that!” I grabbed the phone from his hands and sat up.
“I was bored!” he defended. “Bored and trapped!”
“You could have pushed me off and gotten up!” I shook my head as I closed the app.
“You were too cute,” he smirked.
“Here I thought you were doing something sensible like working out how the hell to get out of here and… shit! We’ve got like 10 hours to get to Colville!” I exclaimed.
“We only need four,” Jake assured. “And yes, I’ve already checked our location.”
“We still need to get out of here,” I looked around the barn, then back at Jake. “How are you feeling?”
He sighed and lifted himself to a sitting position slowly, wincing as he moved his limbs, “I’ll live.”
“That’s as reassuring as ever,” I rolled my eyes.
“And you?” he gestured to my lower back.
“Sore,” I touched it gingerly. “But I'll live.”
“Think you can ride the bike again?” he questioned.
“Hang on, it’s you we should be worried about!” I argued. “You really think you can get back on?”
“I have endured far worse,” he pointed out. “I'll go slower this time.”
“You most definitely will!” I glared at him.
He tried to keep a straight face, but started laughing, “You saw me kill seven people yesterday and yet you don’t hesitate to threaten me. It’s cute, endearing even.”
“I'm not scared of you,” I shrugged. “Especially in your current condition, I could out run you.”
“Maybe I let you believe you could out run me,” he smirked. “Who doesn’t love a good chase?”
“You can’t fool me,” I got up and stretched my back. “I know you’re in a lot of pain.”
“But I know how to shut out pain to get what I want,” he grinned devilishly.
I poked his shoulder and he yelped in pain, “Real scary, monster boy.”
Jake grabbed my wrist with a growl and yanked me down to the ground beside him. I hit the hay on my side, then was immediately forced onto my back. Jake pinned my limbs down with his before I could react. I tried to move my arms, but he held them down firmly.
“That hurt, you son of a bitch!” I yelled.
“Remember who you’re dealing with,” he hissed. “I got myself out of those mines, I can ride that fucking bike.”
“Give me the other Jake back,” I frowned.
“No, he’s weak,” his expression grew darker. “If it wasn't for me, he would’ve died in those mines.”
“We’re not in danger, give him back,” I insisted.
“Maybe I don’t want to,” he leant over and licked my cheek. “Maybe he doesn’t want to, either.”
“We don’t have time for this,” I struggled to remain calm. “Fine, you can handle the bike. Point proven.”
“Do you think anyone would hear you if you screamed right now?” he smiled sadistically. “There’s no one for miles! You could scream all you want and no one would hear you.”
“Are you done?” I raised my eyebrow. “We have to get to Colville, remember?”
“But look,” Jake gestured to the side with his head. “You'd look so beautiful tied to the wooden beam there. I could’ve done it while you slept, you know. You wouldn’t have even noticed.”
“What, do you want a cookie for being a good boy?” I rolled my eyes.
“I don’t think you understand how much I have to restrain myself with you,” he turned back to me. “You act so strong and brave, but you're oh so vulnerable. It’d be a pity if I were to abuse that.”
“Stop,” I bit my lip.
“Stop,” he mocked. “Make me.”
Jake leant down and started alternating between kissing and sucking my neck. I wiggled underneath him, but I couldn’t escape his hold.
“Red light, Jake,” I shook my head. “We need to go.”
Jake immediately pulled up and pouted, “Mood killer.”
“Save it for after we get Richy denied parole!” I poked his stomach. “Think of it as motivation.”
Jake laughed and stood up to stretch out, “I didn’t need any, but I'll take it. On a more serious note, we need to work on your self-defence because that was pathetic.”
I got up and dusted myself off, “Gee, thanks. How about you teach me a few things then?”
“Gladly,” he smiled as he picked up his helmet. “When I'm not so sore. For now, let’s go find something to eat and maybe pick up a new ride on the way.”
“Sounds like a plan,” I chuckled as I bent over to grab my helmet to put it on. “You have a place in mind already?”
“Yes, there’s a rest stop with a diner not far from here, which meets both requisites,” he explained as he put his gloves on.
I lifted our bag off the ground and slung it over my shoulder while put his backpack on. He grabbed the dirt bike and pushed it across the barn. I held the door open to give him extra clearance while he exited. Before joining Jake on the dirt bike, I took one last look at the old barn that had sheltered us.
Jake rode considerably more slowly and carefully across the empty fields until we finally reached the road 30 minutes later. The one lane road was empty and weaved through densely forested areas. On a normal day I'd appreciate the clean, fresh air. However, that day was anything but normal.
Eventually the road merged with a busier two-lane highway. Not even five minutes later, the bike started to sputter. Jake pulled off immediately to the side.
“That's as far as the tank can take us,” he sighed as we got off. “Help me move it into the bushes.”
With one of us on each side, we pushed the bike through the trees into the middle of dense bushes and dumped our helmets with it. Jake grabbed some fallen tree branches and tossed them on top to cover everything a little more.
“The diner shouldn't be much further,” he assured me as we took off on foot again.
Truck after truck sped past us as we walked down the shoulder of the highway. Thankfully, Jake was right, the diner was just around the bend, but given the last day of travelling, I was already feeling rather worn out.
Navigating through the parking lot of the diner, Jake scoped out potential new rides. Most of them were trucks of all sizes, some with trailers and some without. There were only a couple of cars, which meant his choices were limited. Breakfast first though, then car theft.
Being the gentleman he was, Jake opened the door of the diner for me to enter first. The inside was like a normal trucker's diner with a long bar space for individuals and a few booths for the occasional group when they had them. Beside the kitchen window a TV was mounted to the wall airing the morning news.
The bar itself was full of truck drivers shovelling breakfast into their mouths in silence with one lone middle-aged waitress refilling their coffee mugs. She looked at me and said something in German to us. I barely knew any German, but by the tone of her voice I could tell it wasn't a greeting.
“I have no idea what she said,” I commented quietly to Jake.
“She said we look like shit,” Jake put a reassuring hand on my shoulder.
He responded to the woman in German. It was the first time I heard him speak his native language and although I had no idea what he was saying, I felt like I understood him just by watching him. They spoke back and forth a few times until Jake responded with one of the few words I knew, “Danke.”
“I told her that our car had broken down and we've been walking all night to find reception,” he explained. “She said the bathrooms are at the back, if you want to freshen up.”
“That sounds good,” I smiled at the woman. “Danke.”
The waitress kept her eyes on us as we headed to the back. Even the truckers started giving us sideways glances. I wasn't sure if it was because they don't get many tourists or if they had somehow recognised us, but Jake was calm and collected so I tried to mirror him.
There was a single stall each for men and women so we went our separate ways. Washing my hands after using the toilet, I eyed myself in the mirror. The woman was right, I did look like shit. I only had a few hours sleep in the barn after all. I washed my face as best as I could, then applied some basic make-up up to try to resemble a human being again. It wasn't the best transition, but it'd have to do.
After I finished up, I surprised to find Jake wasn't waiting outside the bathroom. Stepping out, I spotted him sitting at the closest booth facing the front door. He was busy reading the menu, or at least trying to pretend he was. One of the more hardened trucker’s was watching him from the bar. Surely Jake had noticed, right? He just determined the driver wasn't a threat, right? I rejoined Jake at the table and tried my hardest to not look back at the driver.
“Anything good?” I asked picking up my menu.
“Just your standard range of breakfast food,” he shrugged.
“I, uh, can't read any of this,” I admitted once I realised it was just a laminated text printout with no pictures, all in German.
“What do you want? I'll order for you,” he offered.
“Eggs, bacon, toast... the works really,” I sighed. “I feel hungover without the alcohol. Where's the fun in that?”
Jake lowered his menu and smirked smugly at me, “I'm glad you're starting to appreciate the necessity of food and eating well when you can.”
“I'd rather not think about it right now,” I shook my head. “Is it just me or are they staring at us?”
“Oh, they’re staring. Truckers don't really care for civilians invading their hangouts. It's like we're interrupting their secret club meeting,” he answered nonchalantly.
The waitress came over to take our orders. Jake ordered for us in German. There was something about the way that he spoke the language that had me entranced. Even though he was just literally ordering breakfast, I was hanging onto his every word.
“Is my Deutsch making you that flustered?” he laughed.
“Um, the language just sounds better from your lips,” I blushed.
“Ich liebe dich,” he smiled.
“I have no idea what that means,” I looked at him confused.
“Guess,” he teased.
I stared at him and tried to read from his expression and the context the meaning of what he said to me. “You think I'm cute?”
He chuckled, “No, I definitely think you're cute, but I said ‘I love you'.”
“Oh! I love you too!” I felt so bad for not getting it. “I am glad though that you remembered to say it outside of a life threatening situation.”
“See? I'm trying,” he joked.
“Oh my God! It just occurred to me that the hearing is going to be in German! What am I going to do!?” I gasped. “It’s not like you can go with me!”
“While I'm sure the board can understand English, your friends will be there and they could translate for you?” he suggested.
“Oh, of course,” I rolled my eyes at my own stupidity. “What am I even going to say?”
“The truth? That he betrayed and used you to bring a legend to life in order to terrorise you and your friends just because he couldn't face his own guilt. That he used his good nature to deceive all of you, so even now, any good behaviour should not be trusted. It is just a show to get early release. He doesn't actually feel remorse,” Jake suggested.
“Yeah, I guess,” I sighed.
“You'll work it out,” he put his hand over mine assuredly.
A special news bulletin suddenly interrupted the morning news. I couldn’t understand what was being said, but it was very clear to me that they were issuing a warning to the public that dangerous fugitives had crossed the border and they were to be on the lookout for us. To my surprise, they were still using the old photo of me and the police sketch of Jake. They showed some of the CCTV footage of the train, but the quality was so poor that you really couldn't make out our faces. Nevertheless, I turned back towards Jake and sunk into the seat, hoping that no one in the diner would put two and two together. Jake squeezed my hand to get my attention. Glancing up at him, he held himself with confidence and strength, but his eyes were piercing, as if he was telling me to get my shit together. He was right of course. Every time I panicked I risked us being exposed. I took a deep breath and tried to relax. Out of nowhere our waitress plopped down our dishes, catching me by surprise and nearly causing me to jump out of my seat. She looked at me oddly, like I had three heads, then said something in German. Jake responded in German, obviously trying to cover for my skittish reaction.
“You need to get a better handle on this,” he whispered while frowning at me. “If you keep acting guilty, people are going to know you’re guilty and that will expose us both.”
“But I'm not even guilty,” I whined. “Well not until yesterday.”
Jake sighed and said nothing. He just ate his breakfast while avoiding eye contact with me.
“What? You’re meant to say something snarky or whatever,” I pressured.
“It’s nothing,” he lied. I kicked his leg under the table. “Ow! What the fuck was that for?”
“I am a woman. It is never nothing so spill,” I glared.
“Just wondering if I should’ve just killed you,” he mumbled.
“What for?” I narrowed my eyes.
“Maybe asking you to handle this is too much for you,” he grumbled. I kicked him again. “Ow! I am definitely going to kill you if you keep kicking me!”
“I can handle it,” I gritted my teeth, then started eating
“Good,” he went back to eating.
I glanced up from my plate and realised I needed to cut the tension between us, “Any thoughts on a ride?”
“Well I always wanted to drive a semi,” he mused.
“You’re not serious,” I laughed.
“How hard could it be?” he shrugged.
“Uh, very?” I shook my head. “Besides, I don’t think we should be crossing any of these guys.”
“I could take them,” he insisted. “But you’re right, their cabs are probably vile cesspits.”
“So a normal sedan?” I proposed.
“Unless you want to walk all the way to Colville,” he said sarcastically, earning him another kick. “You’re really asking to be punished later.”
I stuck my tongue out at him like a true brat and kicked him under the table again.

Sorry for bothering you, but I had another idea! :D If you don't mind me sending two requests, how about a headcanon (or imagine if you want, you can choose what you like best) where Jake will meet MC's parents and he is super nervous because he is afraid of what they will think of him and if they knew that he is a hacker. But when Jake and MC arrive at her parents' house, they are quite different than Jake thought.
I'm sooooo sorry that this is super late but life got in the way and I just couldn't bring myself to write. And when I did have the time, I was almost ashamed of how long it had been and delayed it even further.
So this is me, finally writing what I should have done months ago. Thank you so much for your patience!!! ❤️
Jake and f!MC headcannons
(meeting the parents)
There aren't a lot of things that phase Jake
In fact, he's seen so much over the years he was on the run, done some illegal things too
But nothing and he meant nothing, could terrify him more than when his girlfriend told him that her parents had invited them over to have dinner together the next week
"next week? Like....like seven days later?"
"yes." she nodded and his brain short circuited.
"oh my god, oh my god."
MC amused herself by looking at Jake panicking about it for a few minutes and then grabbed his shoulders and made him look at her
"relax, babe. You don't have to. I can tell them that you're busy or something."
Jake calmed down for a moment but then he noticed the sad smile on MC's face
And he doesn't like seeing her sad
At all.
So despite his nervousness, he steeled himself to do this
"why don't we go? I think it'll be fun."
MC's face was priceless.
Shocked beyond belief, she cupped his face in her hands and leaned forward, eyes wide
"are you sure, honey? You don't have to force yourself."
She looked so hopeful and excited to hear his answer
And they had been dating for a while. So it was only natural that they meet each other's families
And since MC had already pretty much met his (only the people he considered as one!), it wouldn't be fair if he didn't make an effort too
"yes. We should go," he smiled and MC squealed excitedly, pressing a quick kiss to his lips
"oh my gosh, I'm so excited!! I'll go call them right now!!"
:))))
Did he make the right decision?
Wellllll, standing in front of MC's house, he was sweating profusely
He had worn his best outfit, a white button up shirt and black jeans
And they had already been late because MC liked his look a little too much
Anyway!!!
He was anxious about making the best impression and he really hoped that they wouldn't be put off by his shyness
Or his profession
About which they didn't know
It's fine it's fine it's fine—
MC's hand slips into his, she gives him a soft smile and the world around them fades away
"I'll be with you the whole time. Tell me if it becomes too much."
Jake swears he's never been more in love
Okay, he can do this!! Absolutely!!
He nods resolutely and MC leads them to her parent's doorstep
Jake's heart is pounding but he's ready
The door opens and he's immediately engulfed in a bone crushing hug
He thinks he can't breath and he looks at MC with wide eyes, asking what to do and she just rolls her eyes in fond exasperation
"really feeling the love here, dad. Not like your daughter is here."
And the weight immediately lifts off of him and turns towards his girlfriend who is laughing as her father hugs her to himself
She squeezes him tight in return and Jake feels himself smile
"it's been too long. I wish you'd come by more. And Jake! Welcome home, son!"
Jake is flabbergasted by the warm welcome. Especially coming from MC's father.
Aren't fathers supposed to threaten the boyfriend?
The flashcards he used to prepare for today did not cover this
"Um, thank you," he stammers out somehow and the man laughs
"My daughter here did say you were shy but no matter! Come on in, I won't bite."
He led them inside and Jake just knew that MC was enjoying all this a little too much judging by the amused tilt of her lips
He stopped dead in his tracks as he saw a stern woman sitting on the couch, watching them walk in
"mom! How have you been?"
MC immediately went in for a hug while the older woman kept staring at him and MC's father leaned close to him and whispered
"She's a tough cookie to crack. Good luck, son."
He was so screwed
Jake gulped and watched the smallest of smiles cross her lips as she regarded her daughter, who was talking excitedly
"and this is Jake! My boyfriend!"
Jake literally felt the temperature inside the room drop, when her mother looked him in the eyes
"h-hello ma'am."
She nodded at him and well, that meant she acknowledged who he was, right?
She immediately turned away from him and started asking her daughter how she had been
Well, apparently not
"sorry, Jake. She's not trying to exclude you. She's just....a little hard around the edges."
He appreciated MC's dad because at least one parent didn't seem to hate him
"I appreciate that, sir."
He looked horrified at being called sir
"please don't call me that. Makes me feel old. Call me dad!"
Jake was once again astounded by the man's openness and not wanting to offend him, nodded hesitantly
He smiled widely and Jake was immediately reminded of MC's face when she laughed
"that's more like it! Come on now, the ladies shouldn't be left alone, they'll talk the night away."
MC smiled as soon as Jake entered in the kitchen where both the women were cooking and bringing out the cutlery
"had a nice chat, you two?" MC asked and her father nodded enthusiastically
"I like him! He's very nice, I approve."
"you've known him for two seconds." MC's mom deadpans and Jake smiles nervously
"can I help you with anything ma'am?"
She appraises him for a few moments and then nods
"then please help MC set the table."
Jake literally sighs in relief when the two of them come out from the kitchen
"your mom is scary."
MC laughs and pinches his cheek
"only because you look terrified of her. She enjoys making you squirm."
"well I almost wet myself because she looked at me like I murdered her dog or something"
MC laughs loudly and her father pokes his head out of the kitchen
"alright you two?"
Jake fights off the blush he knows he's sporting and prays that neither of her parents heard what he had said
Table was set quickly, with MC telling Jake about her childhood memories and her parents brought out the food
Jake thought he might have seen MC's mother smile when he made MC laugh but he wasn't sure
Dinner was a loud affair, with MC and her dad competing about who remembers the most about MC's childhood and Jake and her mother listening quietly
He definitely knew where MC got her charisma from
MC's dad was sweet to include Jake in their conversation, addressing him directly and asking him about his own experiences
He slowly found himself relaxing in their presence and telling them about his own hobbies and pet cat
MC's mother gave an approving nod at his choice of pet and asked him to bring him along the next time
Next time
Jake's brain short circuited at the thought that she wanted Jake to come over again
Does that mean tonight was successful?
"so Jake, you didn't say what you do for a living."
Ahhh
Well, it had to go wrong somewhere, right?
Jake froze and looked to MC to see her in a similar state and immediately deduced that she had not told them about his profession
Well
He knew this was going to come up eventually
"I'm a hacker."
Pin drop silence
You couldn't even hear anyone breath over the quietness
MC's mother put down her spoon slowly and opened her mouth to say something but Jake interrupted her before that
"I know you might think it's not a respectful job but it's what makes me happy. And MC supports me every step of the way and I promise you that I'll do everything in my power to honor her confidence in me. Keeping her safe and happy and healthy is my priority and I'll give my all to make sure that she's never unhappy with me."
Everyone at the table looked at him, MC with tears in her eyes and her father looking very proud
Her mother's expression was still unreadable until she smiled at him
The first smile directed at him
"I was going to say that's very interesting. I myself work in cyber security so I've had dealings with hackers. I've found that they're usually very polite."
What
The
Fuck
Jake blinked slowly and MC shifted guiltily in her seat
"haha what a coincidence, right?" She smiled nervously and her dad picked up quickly at her hint
"oh definitely! Why don't you two talk about work stuff and MC and I can clear up the table?"
MC and her father practically fly out of the dining room and Jake and her mom are the only ones left
It was MC's mother who initiated the conversation this time and Jake replied to her questions
He found it quite pleasant to be honest
It was not a regular occurrence that he could chat with someone who knew about computers so this was a nice change
And MC's mom was quite knowledgeable
She even offered to hire him the next time her company had a need of someone to check their software
Jake had no problem agreeing to her wish
He found that she was actually a very kind but fair woman who loved her family dearly, judging by the way she spoke of MC and her father
His heart warmed to know that MC had grown up in such a loving household, even if his heart gave a twinge at never having felt something akin to parental affection
"okay, you two. I think that's enough chatting for today," MC's father said and Jake looked at the time
Holy shit
How is it so late??
MC gave him a discreet thumbs up behind her mother's back and he had to stifle a laugh
"as much as we loved having you two, you should probably get going if you want to reach the city before midnight."
The goodbyes were a little sad and Jake found himself getting a bit emotional too
He really felt like he belonged here and not like an outsider
And MC's parents are so nice and inclusive
No he did not cry
Not at all
To Jake's surprise, MC's mom pulls him into a hug
"take care of my daughter."
And then he's getting roped into another hug, this one much tighter by her dad
"you hurt her, I'll kill you."
And when he stepped back, he was smiling as usual and Jake almost thought that he imagined his words
Anyway!!!
They are in the car and MC is already planning their next trip
And before he would have been scared but now, after spending time with her family, he knew he had found people worth considering his family

my favourite duskwood headcannon is jake being the "acts tough, is a softie" type and mc being the complete opposite. i mean he 100% has a soft spot for mc and that's cannon but those fancy words of his and his whole personality in the game shows the opposite.
jake is also that one person who loves staying home when it's raining so he can just do his work while watching it from his window (that's because im the same way, and idk jake and rain is a perfect match).
that's all. good night:)

My happy headcanon😆
Dₑₐd cᵢₜy ₊ Dᵤₛₖwₒₒd !
Jake is being chased by the government because he has access to confidental information. We don't know why yet.
And I came up with my own headcanon, recalling the previous work, Dead city
⚠️Dead city Spoiler
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sam's brother Corey and his company, Ecalper Corp, were secretly working on an experiment called "Aequinox" Seeing that humans are cloned and tested, it seems to be a living body experiment.
The company noticed that Sam and MC had contacted, and it was obvious that the company would approach MC. Sam stopped it.
From here is my headcannon.
Dead city is an apocalyptic worldview. What if after that the world became stable and the goverment covered it up? Jake found the information.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, it's more likely that Jake had access to a case file about Hannah's disappearance or other confidential information. I also like the previous work so I tried connecting with Duskwood😁
I wonder if Jake was being chased by government before or after Hannah disappeared🤔

Hello! I was wondering if at some point when you have time or if you want to, could you write some headcannons/a drabble for each of the characters with an insecure MC? It would mean a lot to me thank you 😊❤️ Your work it amazing by the way, I’m so glad you are a fan too~
Richy
He won't notice it at first.
But when mc keeps on making self depriciating jokes and their smile dim everytime, he'll know that something is wrong.
He'll try to ask mc first.
And if they don't want to talk about it, he'll try to make them realise how wonderful they are in different ways.
Like, texting them every morning about how much they miss their pretty/handsome face.
Richy will always hype them up when they're out together with the group and notice if they smile at his words.
Slowly but surely, he'll try to talk to them about their insecurities and when mc is finally ready to open up, he'll give them all the assurances in the world.
Jessy
She'll pick up on it pretty soon.
And she'll constantly remind mc that they're a wonderful person.
Lots of hearts and memes all throughout the day.
Lots and lots of compliments!
mc changed their hair? They look fabulous, mc bought new clothes? They're absolutely rocking it, mc wants to eat junk food for the rest of the day? Jessy is coming along.
She'll be so supportive that mc can't help but feel like they do deserve nice things and with time, learn to accept it.
Jessy makes sure mc knows how much they mean to everyone and how everyone appreciates them very much.
Jake
He notices at once too.
After all, he know what signs to look for, considering he is pretty much the same.
Two insecure dorks.
Although he doesn't know how to make himself feel better, he makes sure that mc knows how nice they are.
His way to comfort them is awkward but mc appreciates the fact that he's trying to make them feel better.
And in return, they compliment him all the same, causing him to blush and wave them off.
There are a lot of silent assurances between them.
Like leaving little notes for the other to find that make them smile.
A comment here or there in passing.
They're both trying to do their best that's all.
Cleo
She'll pick it up by reading into your messages.
She'll try to be supportive subtly.
Like complimenting the mc and asking where they bought that outfit because it looks good on them.
Or giving offhanded compliments in the middle of a conversation about how thankful everyone is that the mc is helping them.
She doesn't know mc that well so she figured she shouldn't ask outright.
If mc is having a bad day, she won't hesitate to send pictures of cakes and desserts and asking them to eat with her next time.
If mc's mood doesn't improve, she'll try to have a serious chat with them, making sure they know that everyone appreciates them and their help and she will be here if mc ever wants to talk or rant.
Dan
He's a completely insensitive person about it at first.
Which hurts mc a lot that he's just brushing their concerns aside.
But he doesn't understand why mc would think about themselves like that (when it's not true) and is genuinely confused as to why this would bother them.
But after listening and earful from Jessy and realising that he came off as rude, he'll apologize straight away.
mc is still miffed about it but they smile when he sends funny videos and his useless commentary on the group's shenanigans.
His way of giving comfort it still blunt and mc just sighs and realises that it's just his way of showing he cares.
Eventually they learn to brush off their insecurities with the help of humor and secretly think that Dan's way might have helped a little.
Lilly
She takes a little time to notice.
And when she does, she's confused as to what she should do.
She doesn't know mc very well and they have an understanding due to Jake but besides that, they aren't exactly friends.
So whenever she talks to mc, she manages to slip in a little something to make them feel better about themselves.
mc is weirded out by it at first.
They don't know each other after all.
But after seeing her disguised efforts to make them feel better, mc is really touched.
And begins to talk to Lilly in earnest, hoping to be her friend.
Phil
He noticed it in the way mc averted their eyes when he complimented them.
So what does he do?
Start complimenting them more often.
Phil flirts with mc at all given chances making them flush.
He wants them to know that they are very desirable and shouldn't be too hard on themselves.
If mc asks him why he compliments them so much, he'll tell the truth.
That he wants them to be confident about themselves.
And mc would be very grateful for all his efforts.
Thomas
He's a bit thickheaded with things like these.
So he doesn't know at all until mc tells him point blank.
And then he doesn't know what to say because he had never had to reassure Hannah.
So he just awkwardly says that everything would be alright.
And for the next time, asks the group to be a little mindful of their interactions with the mc.
Telling them what they shouldn't mention.
He won't say anything to them directly but his actions definitely speak louder.

Jake and MC headcannons!
(If they start dating)
Jake is super insecure when they start dating. Like, he believes that the MC deserves someone better who's not a borderline criminal.
And MC is always there with logical arguments like "would I have been able to save Hannah without your help" or "it feels wonderful to have a boyfriend with so much talent".
And Jake always whines and denies all the compliments but it always leaves him with a smile on his face.
MC likes being affectionate with him which has him surprised for the first few months because he had always lived alone and didn't go out much so he's a little touch starved.
And of course MC notices that and always ensures that they're touching whenever they're doing something together.
Like playing with his hands when they're watching TV and leaning against each other when they're on their phones.
And Jake begins to appreciate all the little things that the MC does to make him comfortable and happy.
Like when he wakes up, there's always coffee ready for him to drink and how MC always kisses him or hugs him before they have to go to work or how they thread their fingers through Jake's hair while cuddling.
And MC loves Jake's little quirks too. How he casually puts an arm around them or brings them flowers when he's out of the house.
Surprisingly, Jake is really good at cooking and MC loves helping him in the kitchen.
He one day reveals that if he had not been a hacker, he would have definitely been a chef.
He makes a lot of different dishes from all over the world and MC tries to help the best that they can but it usually ends with someone covered in cooking ingredients.
"no wait! You can't put that in a microwave!"
Jake has a mini heart attack everytime he sees them with a knife, knowing that MC could cut themselves. So he makes them do the mixing and the easier stuff.
They both always, ALWAYS have dinner together no matter how busy the other one is.
MC can't help but stare at Jake every time he comes in the room, because really he's perfect.
And if Jake catches them looking at him, he always teases them.
"ah you're captivated by my handsomeness aren't you?"
MC usually becomes flustered at being caught but sometimes, they like to tease back too.
"of course. I'm thinking of all the things I could do to you".
Cue blushing, flustered Jake because MC just has that effect on him.
But at the end of the day, they're both there for each other or if the other needs a pick me up, a fact neither of them forgets.
And Jake lays awake at night sometimes, watching MC curled up around him, like he's their lifeline and thanks the stars that he let them come into their life, because it's so much brighter with the two of them together.

Hello! Can I ask about your head canons about Richy? Also I hope you are doing well! <3
Hello, Linda! I'm okay, just a busy but it's finally the weekend!! I hope you're doing good too ❤️ Considering Richy's a 'good guy' I have some really specific headcannons about him —
He's the kind of guy who'll text the groupchat at 2 am, scared about a noise he heard from kitchen, oh god please help–
He's like, the chillest boss ever and let's Jessy get away with much more holidays than she's allowed but it's okay, she's practically family.
He's the life of the party! With sucha versatile friend group, it's up to the extroverts to help with the awkwardness and Richy's up to the task with funny stories and amusing topics all the time.
Also, I think he's a very emotional drunk. Like, if he's fairly intoxicated, he'll start being mushy and stuff and saying how he loves everyone while the others watch in disgust and amusement.
"Dan, man I swear, I could never live without you. I just lo—"
"Please shut up."
I think he's someone who notices all the little things about someone. Like, how Jessy is uncomfortable when the radio volume is too high or how Cleo doesn't like it when people ask her to make them something or when people look at Dan with apprehension and he just slumps a little.
He always makes sure to distract his friends from worries by talking or asking them to do something with him. Anything to take their mind off of the worry.
He forgets to take care of him sometimes and there are days when he just doesn't want to get up or be good for anyone. He just wants to sleep and recharge.
He loves compliments. No matter if they're about his hair or the color of his jacker or just about how fun he is to be around, he cherishes those words and always smiles shyly when someone says them.
He loves cars and often loses himself in his work and Jessy has to remind him about the time and he asks for a little more time to work on to which Jessy gives him an unamused stare.
"Please, just ten minutes! I'm almost done and–"
"No. You've been at it for four hours, now take a break."
He's the kind of guy everyone loves because he's just so positive and cheerful that you can't help but be attracted to him.

uhm, i don't know wheather you take requests or not but it would be awesome if you could write some protective jake headcanons 👉👈 hope im not too bold :D
Ooh I love requests! And don't worry, angel, you're perfect!
Jake and MC headcannons
(When Jake becomes overprotective)
Jake and MC have a really balanced relationship. He trusts them and they trust him wholeheartedly.
But sometimes, Jake feels as if he has to protect MC because of what he does.
He has no short amount of enemies, being a hacker, so he's always apprehensive that now that he has someone he cherishes, his enemies might make a move against MC.
He just wants the MC to be safe and that's why, he tries to make sure that they are not traced or stalked online.
He may be a hacker but he knows how to make pretty good firewalls too.
And the MC always rolls their eyes when Jake modifies their phone and assures him that they aren't going anywhere.
It takes a little more time for Jake to get used to not being so paranoid of everything but it happens slowly, all the while with MC muttering reassurances in his ear and bribing him with soft kisses.
One day, everything becomes too much for Jake and he tells the MC how scared he is of losing them and how he just wants to protect them both.
And MC listens to his words calmly, and just talks to him, telling him that wouldn't happen because they trust Jake, which makes Jake even more emotional and eventually, the talk ends with them cuddling around all day and talking about different things in soft, low voices.
This isn't the only thing that makes Jake overprotective. MC is a complete accident magnet in the kitchen and many times, Jake's heart almost stops at seeing MC trying to help.
Knives are a big no-no. The moment MC reaches for one, Jake puts them out of their reach which has MC pouting and grumbling.
But Jake offets them kisses and says they'll get an endless amount if they wait for him on the couch.
And MC runs to the living room which has Jake laughing and shaking his head at their antics.
But he loves them and definitely does not fancy a trip to the hospital so he'll give them as many kisses as they want.
Their dates are Jake's favourite part of the week and he looks forward to them so much.
Since not many people knew earlier that Jake and MC were dating, they used to look at MC with suspicion and contempt which always made Jake act super protective.
He didn't want them to be uncomfortable just because people didn't know who they were and made sure to glare at the waiter when he kept staring at MC, despite their discomfort.
His simple gestures spoke volumes. His arm on your shoulder, gentle forehead kisses, intertwined hands and many other small gestures were his way of telling everyone that he was dating the MC and people began to notice it.
Afterwards, they got used to them being together, so no one paid them any special attention anymore.
Jake thought he was being discreet but every time MC caught them doing it, they had a silly smile, curving their lips.
And after reaching home, they made sure to reward him by showering him with love and affection which Jake was only too happy to receive.

“I know.”
33. An unexpected kiss that shocks the one receiving it.
39. Kissing tears from the other’s face.
Jake × MC
Words: 433
Anonymous asked: Could you do 33 and 39 with Jake x Mc from the kissing prompts? Your writing is absolutely fantastic and I’m so glad you are apart of this fandom. 💚
Anonymous asked: 33 jake x mc for kiss prompt 🥺
A/N: thank you so much for the kind words, anon! Enjoy :)
—————
You ran forward towards Jake, tears streaming down your face, as the police apprehended the man without a face.
He winced as he tried to get up from the ground, grunting in pain as a stab of pain shot through his ribs. His assailant hadn’t gone easy on him at all. First it was the government and now that guy, seeming as if he just couldn’t catch a break. That or people just liked beating him up.
He let out a muffled, ‘oof’ as you barreled into him, full force, wrapping his arm around you and ignoring another wave of pain as you sobbed into his shoulder. Seeing you so distressed, he mumbled quiet assurances to you, running a soothing hand across your back and waited for you to calm down. Soon enough your cries came down to quiet sniffles and as you raised your head to look at him, Jake’s heart broke at seeing your red eyes and tear stained cheeks.
“I’m okay, we’re okay,” he murmured, watching helplessly as it prompted a fresh wave of tears from your side.
“I was so scared,” you said.
“I know.”
“I thought he…”
“I know.” Jake pushed aside a lock of hair that had fallen into your teary eyes, lost in the concern swirling within them.
“I love you.”
“I know,” Jake nodded, but then frowning as he processed what you had just said.
“Wait, wha–” he didn’t get to complete his question before your lips were on his, moving with surprising firmness as you deepened the kiss when he gasped in surprise, the hand holding you tightening its grip on your waist. Soon enough, he lost himself in your taste, closing his eyes and savoring whatever you were willing to give, mind wandering off to the flirty conversations you two used to share.
It was only when he tasted salt, did he realise that you were still crying. Pulling away with much difficulty, he brushed his hands across your cheeks, kissing your tears away, as you held his wrists in a tight grip, afraid that if you opened your eyes, he would disappear.
“I thought I lost you,” you whispered, eyes still closed as Jake’s kisses came to a stop.
“You didn’t, I’m here. I’ll always be here,” he said, pressing your body to his in a tight hug.
You two say there, in the middle of the road, for what seemed like forever until the paramedics came to check on Jake. And even then, he held your hand in a vice grip, afraid of letting go, just as much as you were.

Jake x MC "I'm gonna need some context for whatever I just heard."
@jellyfishdodraw asked: 77 and 2 in a lazy morning would be SO cute
77. You should be asleep.
95. I’m going to need some context on whatever I just heard.
Pairing: Jake × reader
Notes: I know Serah that you asked for a lazy morning but I had this idea and since I already did 2, I decided to combine 77 and 95, I hope you don't mind!
-------
Jake had been really busy with work lately that he couldn't spend much time with his lover and felt really bad about it.
You had kissed him goodbye as he was still waking up, softly asking him to go back to sleep, since he had been working all night and only came up to bed an hour ago. He had smiles sleepily, brushing his lips against yours one last time before you went off to work.
But no matter what he did, he couldn't fall asleep and thoughts of spending time with you kept invading his mind. At last, he got up and dressed, actually wearing something else other than a hoodie to surprise you at work and maybe have lunch together if you were free.
On the way to your office, he bought a bouquet of your favourite flowers and nervously checked his hair before entering the building and asking the receptionist for you. She smiled excitedly at him, which he found a little odd and told him the room in which you could be found.
His steps were silent as he made way to the end of the hallway but stopped abruptly as he heard voices. Would he be disturbing you? He hoped not.
The door was open slightly and he peaked inside, shocked to see Jessy standing in front of you, holding your hands and you were speaking something.
".....the first time I spoke to you. You were so kind and thoughtful and helped me so much with everything. I think I had already fallen for you at that point and meeting you in person only confirmed that. I love you so much and will you do the honour of being mine forever?"
Jake tuned out the rest of the world as his heart dropped, breath quickening and eyes involuntarily watering. You couldn't do something like that, he knew it, he knew you. So why did it feel like his heart had been viciously stomped on?
He started to back up from the door but his bracelet–that you had given him–banged against the door and alerted the two occupants of the room to his presence.
All the blood drained out of your face as you looked at his stricken face and moved towards him.
"You should be asleep," you said as you reached for his hand but he didn't let you, recoiling from your touch.
You looked like he'd slapped you.
"I’m going to need some context on whatever I just heard," he said.
He had to be rational, there was probably a good explanation, you weren't...you couldn't cheat on him. He knew you.
"I..." You began, voice trembling but were interrupted by Jessy.
"She is going to propose to you." She blurted out and you turned to her sharply.
"Jessy!"
"What? You both looked like you were poisoned and were going to drop dead any moment, I had to do something!" She hissed and you groaned, sitting down in a chair and hiding your face in your hands.
Jake slowly felt the words sink in and looked at your embarrassed expression and Jessy's apologetic one, before he let out a shaky breath.
To everyone's surprise, he started laughing, tears streaming down his face and shaking his head in relief. Jessy smiled at the both of you before excusing herself and leaving.
Jake sat beside you and waited for you to raise your head. When you did, he grinned at you, face filled with so much relief and joy that you immediately felt better, knowing he hadn't misunderstood anything.
"You were practicing?" He teased and you shoved him, only succeeding him making him laugh at your plight.
"I wanted to surprise you," you pouted and he only gave you a blinding grin in response.
"Consider me very much surprised, love."

I love your fanfictions 😍 Can you please do the 2. and the 80. from your prompt list with Jake and mc? ❤️
2. Can you stand there for another minute? I just want to keep looking at you for a bit longer.
80. You are so lucky I love you.
Pairing: Jake × f!MC
Notes: Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you like this :) there was also a request long ago about a wedding au and I tried to combine them both.
-----
Your cousin was getting married in a few days and had invited you to the ocassion but instead of feeling joy and happiness for her, you only felt dread because after weeks of looking, you still hadn't found a dress.
Online sites had offered nothing and now you were going to several couture shops, dragging Jake along to help, so that you could find something in time for the wedding.
"Sweetheart, relax. I know we'll find something that you like, which suits you. If you had just listened to me—"
"You say that I look beautiful in every dress! How am I supposed to choose," you said, frowning when you saw the time. You had been browsing for two hours already and nothing had caught your eye.
"That's because you do look beautiful in all of them," Jake said and smiled at your slight curving of lips.
"Anyway, this is the last shop for today and if I can't find the dress here, I'm calling my cousin to say we can't make it," you said and Jake laughed at your cutely furrowed brows, following you as you entered and smiled the the staff member.
The employee quickly whisked you away, asking for your preferences and the occasion and you patiently told them everything, giving your input and refuting when there was a dress you didn't like. Jake had tried to follow you but got bored quickly, so decided to sit on the couch while you selected a few gowns.
After about thirty minutes, you had narrowed down to two dresses and Jake enjoyed the excited expression on your face as you told him that you think you'll get one of those.
The first dress you changed into was a pretty lavender colour that went to your knees and flared at the bottom. Jake nodded in approval at your choice before asking to see the second one as well.
Nothing could have prepared him for how gorgeous you looked as you walked out in a floor length navy dress, sparkling underneath all the lights and he found himself just staring at you, taking in the sight of how absolutely breathtaking you looked.
"Well? What's the verdict?" You ask, smiling at his surprised face.
"Can you stand there for another minute? I just want to keep looking at you for a bit longer," he said softly, delighting in the way you ducked your head shyly at his words and the employee laughed at the lovesick expression on both of your faces.
"You are so lucky I love you," you joked but Jake nodded seriously at your words.
"I am."
•••••
The day of the wedding was nothing short of magical. You cousin was glowing, smiling at everyone's congratulations, all the while, holding her now husband's hand.
You couldn't help but be awed by how clearly in love they were and thought how happy they must be feeling.
The touch of Jake's hand over yours brought you back to the real world as you looked at him questioningly, smiling at how happy he looked.
"That'll be us someday, I promise you."
Your smile widened and you intertwined your fingers together.
"I believe you and I can't wait for it to happen."

HI! It's so good to have you back. 38 for Jake x MC, please? Love, 💜Anon
38. What do you mean you’re in love with me?!
Pairing: Jake × MC
Notes: glad to be back! I missed talking to you 💜 anon
-----
"Hey everyone!" You greeted, sliding next to Jessy in the booth as a chorus of 'hellos' followed your greeting.
After finding Hannah, everyone had been relieved, going back to their daily lives and soon enough, they got busy and you lost contact with most of them. Except for Jake, of course, you two couldn't get enough of each other.
You had met all of the people you'd come to call as friends, in person only one time before and this time, the butterflies in your stomach were entirely due to a different reason. Jake was coming as well and you'd be seeing him in person for the first time.
Despite talking to each other daily and knowing most of things about the other, you hadn't once traded pictures (though you suspected Jake might have already seen yours, being a hacker and all).
Everyone greeted you pleasantly, asking about what had you been upto and you answered all of their questions enthusiastically. To your suprise, Phil also came after a while and winked at you in greeting, causing you to blush lightly.
Your eyes kept drifting off to the door though, waiting for your crush who had said he'd be here, after much insistence from Hannah, Lilly and you. You didn't know how he looked like but you were pretty sure you'd be able to recognise him.
It was a good fifteen minutes later, when a shadow fell over your table that you looked up to see a cute, dark haired guy, smiling nervously at everyone.
"Jake!" Hannah stood up to hug him first, followed by a less enthusiastic Lilly.
Your heartbeat accelerated and you fidgeted in your place, not knowing what to say now that you were face to face for the first time. Gathering all your courage, you stood up, Jake's eyes moving towards yours and the tension in his shoulders seemed to lift a little as he saw you approaching.
"Hey, Jake." Your voice was soft and low against his ears as you wrapped your arms around him and he swallowed nervously, before returning your hug.
The rest of the group, except Phil we're watching you two knowingly, while the latter frowned.
Jake sat across from you and you only regretted that he wasn't beside you, as conversation picked up once again. He was clearly shy and didn't say much but you could see how he listened to everyone and nodded at all the right places.
You and Jake kept making eye contact and then averting your gaze shyly and Jessy noticed.
"This has been amazing guys but I remembered I had to help Dan with something," she said.
"You do?" Dan asked incredulously and you noticed Richy biting his lip and looking sadly at Jessy.
"Ow! I mean yes! I asked her help...regarding...work."
There was silence for a few seconds before Jessy groaned and dragged Dan along with her, bidding everyone a hasty goodbye. The rest only laughed at her antics and slowly started dispersing, saying their goodbyes until it was just you, Jake and Phil left.
"If you're here for a few days, feel free to drop by Aurora. I'd love some beautiful company," Phil winked at you before leaving, only you and Jake left at the table.
He was looking anywhere but you, a downturn to his lips and with horror, you realise he might have misunderstood yours and Phil's relationship.
"Jake?"
He glanced up and locked eyes with you and for a long moment, neither of you spoke, too afraid to shatter the fragile silence enveloping you both.
"I think I'm in love with you," he blurted out, before his face morphed into one of mortification, cheeks blazing red.
"What do you mean you’re in love with me?" You were surprised beyond belief and Jake must have mistook your surprise for anger because he fumbled over his words, trying to say something.
"Jake, Jake, I'm not mad but this....it's too soon."
He swallowed.
"I know. I really like you though," he said.
"I really like you too. What do you say, we try dating before saying something like that?" You smiled, letting him know you were okay with it but just needed more time.
He smiled softly in response.
"I'd like that."
