Anders and Justice both getting confused about what’s real, but they’re confused about different things so it cancels out
Justice: I want us to leave the room, why is this chair not turning into a door?
Anders: They don’t do that here
Justice: ok
Anders: Is there actually someone calling me from that cave?
Justice: I feel no vibrations assaulting our ears. But I do sense demonic influence, it is deception
Anders: ok

Headcanon: elves are born with floppy ears. The tips are bent over the rest of the ears and they right themselves with time (usually when the kid reaches four or five years of age). Elven toddlers are therefore called floplings

Things I think have happened at the Hanged Man that I consider canon
Varric and Hawke have passed out drunk in the same bed and ended up spooning. They now regularly nap pile together
Fenris has carried each member of the party home at least Once. Isabela kept escaping his grasp and staggering towards danger
Merril has won multiple drinking contests. It’s like alcohol doesn’t affect her
Barkspawn regularly wanders over when the Hawke family aren’t home. He is always met with cheers and many pets. He’s like a bodega cat
Carver keeps making up card games, insists they’re real, and therefore wins every time. He’s almost been banned twice and killed seven times doing this. Hawke and Varric back him up for a share of the loot

also okay so these are my interpretations of each of the Pantheon's realm
Elgar'nan — Vengeance, protection and righteous anger. Lord over and under the sun, father of Gods, Magnificent among the rest of them. Lord of War, victory and love which knows no bounds. Bearer of loss. His is the light of the sun and the task of protecting the future of the Elvhen, there where no justice can serve.
Mythal — Justice, protection and wisdom. Lady over and under the moon, who comes and rules the sea, mother of Gods, Magnificent among the rest of them and loved by Elgar'nan. Lady of Strategy, public rejoice and stability. Bearer of growth. Hers is the hope in the night and the task of seeing over all civic life.
Dirthamen — Knowledge, Secrets and Piety*, of the unwavering loyalty and quickest of understandings. Heir to the time of Endless Creation which is to come after the War and, therefore, Heir of Mythal and Elgar'nan. Lord of Serenity and quiet but undying passion, his are the mountains and the stars. Undaunted by Fear and Deceit, all lies and betrayals are abhorrent to him. His is the task to record all history.
*Not to be mistaken with solidarity between peoples.
Falon'din — Time and death. The one untouched by Blight, who cannot be tainted by the Void. Scryer of the futures of Elvhenan because only he knows the weight of time involved in their becoming. Shepard of the Dead. Considered the Eldest in merit of the children of Elgar'nan and Mythal, first of the children to bear a realm. He's the only Creator/Evanuris who can actually understand and feel the passing of time. Because of this, he is owed reverence.
Sylaise — Creativity, diplomacy and peace. Lady of Fire and Home, who reminds of the importance of temperance in one's endeavours. She who gave the Elvhen the gift of creating beauty for beauty's sake. Lady of mourning, as she bears all that for war is lost. Hers are the arts, the gift of gab and of medicine, which she rules over with her brother Dirthamen, Heir of the Elvhen. Her is the task of peaceful resolution of disputes.
June — Resourcefulness, material creation, craftsmanship, commerce and mastery over one's actions. Giver of joy and kindness, pillar of peace as there cannot be peace in lacking, protector of quartermasters and workers alike, to whom nothing is impossible. Husband of Sylaise. His is the task of invention, as he bears the weight of curiosity and love which asks for nothing in return.
Andruil — Fortune, chances, sacrifice, births and rot. Lady of the Hunt and of Survival. Master of swiftness and over-looker of Oaths — to swear on her name and not complete the task is to invite bad luck to the oath-breaker. Lady of resolute action, who is predator and prey. Thematically, she is the most opposed to Sylaise.
Ghilan'nain — Dire circumstances, guidance, overcoming obstacles and navigation. Lady of crossroads and pathways, hers are the river-ways and trails. Protector of trailblazers and patroness of the inevitability of choice. Most beloved by Andruil. Bearer of travelling, and therefore, of yearning, distances, but also of discovery.
Fen'Harel — Deception, lies, illusions, missed opportunities and trickery. The compass to what is Not. Teacher of bitter lessons. Lord of Lost Youth, false hopes and exile. Bearer of Guilt and the cost of Pride. He is an omen of danger and is drawn by fear. Thematically, most opposed to Dirthamen.

So, since I hate myself I decided to replay Trespasser. And noticed that someone here in one of the Guard Towers over the Valley, first time you cross the Eluvian... Left a pink sock and a copy of one of Varric's book on a stone. Was this an interrupted break? Of whom?

We got robbed of Morrigan practicing being a dragon before fighting Corypheus. You really wanna tell me just just yolo'd that? I want the entire Inquisition forces scattering about Skyhold because HOLY FUCK THERE'S A DRAGON CIRCLING AND BREATHING FIRE and the Inquisitor is running around like a manic chicken screaming "HOLD YOUR FIRE ITS A FRIENDLY DRAGON! FRIENDLY DRAGON!!"

CONFESSION:
So we know tea exists in the Dragon Age universe but I always wondered what the powers that be have said about coffee.  Because I have always pictured some of the characters drinking coffee and they would each enjoy it differently.

So going back to this headcanon of qunari shed their horns
A romanced iron bull or quanri inquisitor making horn combs. I see bull adding dawnstone to his combs.
A few examples found
Tumblr media
A basic one done by Iron Bull or Inquisitor
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ones for Bull or from Bull to Madame de Fer
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another for bull with one for Dorian
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lastly some novelty ones that I think Sera would love
(she also might try to steal the mustache comb from Dorian)
(and something tells me Sera has never ever actually used a comb)

I was listening to My Love Will Never Die by AG & Claire Wyndham and couldn't NOT imagine Solas and Lavellan, so i did the only sensible thing and wrote the song out in elvish to hurt myself even more.
Lavellan:
Ma'lath, ma'lath (my love, my love)
Ma tel'geal lath (my fearless love)
Ar tel'ne dirth dar'eth (I will not say goodbye)
Manen nuva taremah (sea may rise)
Tarasyl nuva laiemah (sky may fall)
Ma lath tel'ne dina (my love will never die)
Dara fra, dara fra (go on, go on)
Vira rogasha fra (go bravely on)
Sule din'an shiral (into deaths journey)
Emathe ma syl (hold my breath)
Sule mar vegara (until your return)
Ma lath tel'ne dina (my love will never die)
Solas:
Ma vhenan, ma vhenan (my heart, my heart)
Ma telsylmanal vhenan (my drownig heart)
E ga numin ar irlahna (oh all the tears I cry)
E ar nuva numa bellanaris (oh I may weep forevermore)
Ma lath tel'ne dina (my love will never die)
Lavellan:
Ma'lath, ma'lath (my love, my love)
Ma felasilor lath (my foolish love)
Ar tel'ne dirth dar'eth (I will not say goodbye)
Manen nuva taremah (sea may rise)
Tarasyl nuva laiemah (sky may fall)
Ma lath tel'ne dina (my love will never die)
Both:
Manen jutara (sea will rise)
Tarasyl julaia (sky will fall)
El lath tel'ne dina (our love will never die)
El lath tel'ne dina (our love will never die)

There’s a lot of posts where people wonder how Merrill would react to Solas. I’m a bit worried myself tbh. But here’s a different one: Merrill meeting Morrigan!
All I want in life is for Merrill to get to have a chat with Morrigan where she finds out that 1.)  Asha'bellanar, whom she met and spoke to, is actually Mythal, THE goddess whose valaslin she freaking carries and therefore once chose to committ to with a tattoo on her face for LIFE, like can you imagine what that would mean to her!!! 2.) what Eluvians can really do and what significance they had to Elvhenan 3.) that really she probably managed to fix hers a long time ago and all she is missing is the password and why yes, Morrigan would love to take a look actually 4.) that it makes no bloody sense for a demon to have been bound inside the mirror that somehow also could be let out by Marethari without activating the eluvian so really Marethari was full of shit and her death isn’t Merrill’s fault. 5.) MYTHAL HERSELF FREAKING CALLED HER BRIGHT I’M GOING TO CURL UP IN A BALL AND CRY NOW.
Not even going into scenarios where the Warden is a Dalish elf...
Please just let Merrill befriend Morrigan. Can you imagine how her sweet little mind would just be blown.
You know Morrigan would be weirded out by her unbridled enthusiam at first and try to keep her at a distance but Merrill would just worm her way into her heart by being oblivious to Morrigan’s initial coldness until Morrigan would realise that Merrill really is exceptionally bright and gifted at magic, equally doesn’t care about conventialism and social taboos around magic, and that they both share not just a goal but an obsession!

Cassandra: we need my fave celebrity to lead the inquisition
Varric: It’s not gonna go well
Cassandra: They became a leader after coming from nothing, they can help us do the same
Varric: They’ll stir up controversy
Cassandra: look here they come OMG this is the best day of my life!
Hawke: *rolls up in a carriage covered in bumperstickers that say ‘fuck the chantry’ ‘ATAB’ ‘Mountain-Father 4 life’ ‘smash the circles’ ‘being haunted is hot’ ‘mage rights or mage fights’ ‘blood magic gang’ ‘Justice is my middle name (we hyphenated in the marriage)’*
Cassandra:
Cullen:

on the idea of godhood and my one giant lore catchall post
spoilers for dragon age, inquisition, and trespasser dlc, etc.
this plays off of a post i read recently (i didn't remember to save it) that referred to a word used in a codex entry that basically corresponds to 'the idea and worship of power/godhood made real', as in the worship of a figure, at sufficient quantities, granting them real power. the post theorized this was how the evanuris went from being mere generals in a war to being worshipped as mage-gods, same for solas and possibly mythal. i believe it also mentioned the idea that the way the 'gods' were worshipped would've affected the gods' demeanor as well, though that becomes more of a chicken vs egg situation.
anyway. here's some thoughts i've been having.
according to solas, 'Falon'Din's vanity and desire for worshipers was so great he started brutal wars to gain more, killing all who would not bow to him.' it's unknown if the other evanuris did similar things, but the general idea is that: gain worshippers to gain power through their worship.
the chantry's goal '...is to spread the Chant of Light to all four corners of the world and to all races... Once all peoples have accepted the Chant and practice its teachings, the Maker will return and restore the world to its former glory.' (emphasis mine, quoted from the wiki)
so.
would the idea of 'worship of power/godhood made real' apply to this as well? that the meaning of the chantry insisting on spreading the chant of light to all of thedas is to mean that once everyone/enough people worship and believe in the maker, he will have power (again) to affect the world, whether the chantry knows this or not?
going down this line of thought leads me to think.. regardless of whether the maker is Real God or a Powerful Mage Worshipped to Godhood, the concept of the Original Sin would line up with a very primeval 'had his children/worshipers turned away from him, thus diminishing his power' that may have happened before the actual original sin.
would the same apply to how the qunari leaders try to spread the teachings of the qun? as far as i can tell, the qun maybe honors the askhaari koslun, but he isn't venerated as a god or as in having powers aside from the tales of his visions and prophecy regarding his teachings. i think. i did a brief skim on the wiki.
in light of it all, this could be an aspect of atheism trying to quell all the powers vying for godhood in the world. don't believe in gods! any of them! you'll give them power! all you need is order and obedience!
in works, in theory.
anyway, the thing that's been on my mind the MOST:
the Forgotten Ones, the void, and the blight. bear with me.
All that the Maker has wrought is in His hand Beloved and precious to Him. Where the Maker has turned His face away, Is a Void in all things; In the world, in the Fade, In the hearts and minds of men.
(emphasis mine, quoted from the wiki as from the canticle of threnodies)
i've read and may or may not subscribe to the theories about the blight originating from the void, from the implication of andruil going hunting in there for the Forgotten Ones and becoming Infected, bringing a plague back to her lands. assuming this story is true, then that is where the initial taint came from that could have affected the primeval thaig in the free marches (it being somewhat close to the forest of arlathan could lend credence to this) before the tevinter magisters ever entered the fade.
according to the wiki, the codex for fen'harel gives us that 'Forgotten Ones are a dark mirror presiding over the worst aspects of existence: disease, terror, spite and malevolence. They serve not as shepherds of the elves, but rather as figures of fear and dread.'
SO. IF:
andruil's plague = blight the plague = came from the void the void = either 'the maker turned his face from it' or 'the maker is not present here' The Forgotten Ones = worst aspects of existence, reside in or were born of the void the evanuris = aspects of the maker? (i THINK morrigan mentions this idea)
the evanuris as the relatively more positive aspects of the maker warring against the forgotten ones, the objectively more negative aspects of the maker, while both try to spread their versions of.. idealogy, i guess?
i say this because i question what the whole point of the blight is. but if the blight comes from the void, and the void is where the forgotten ones are or live or come from, and if the forgotten ones are.. possibly.. negative aspects of the maker... it's less that 'the maker is sending us trials by cleansing fire via the blights' and more 'this splintered part of the maker (the forgotten ones) wants to spread this negative blight to make themselves more powerful'.
the evanuris, though relatively More Positive, also apparently just want to make Themselves more powerful (because ambition can be both good and bad). and maybe initially the war between the evanuris/ancient elvhen and the Forgotten Ones WAS a war against the negative aspects of the maker, to prevent the bad from overtaking the good.
(but perfectly good and perfectly bad are in no way perfection, in and of themselves)
solas says the evanuris were mortal. there's theories that they're spirits, whose identities depend on how they are remembered and worshiped.
i say: who is to say that solas's insistence on their mortality ISN'T just another way to alter their state, to MAKE them mortal just be believing that they are. spirits can alter their reality. and with how cole made himself corporeal, the idea that spirits can just become Real and Physical if they Believe it (or are believed in?) hard enough has implications on, maybe, how some things came to be:
the evanuris: the practice of vallas'lin dedicating (unhappy, ungrateful) slaves to the evanuris affecting their later behavior (madness, vanity, betrayal) the avvar gods: powerful spirits(?) given stewardship over the avvar clans by their reverence and worship. one can even be bound to a dragon, just like how the grey wardens bound demons. just like how you could bind cole, if you wanted. the void: did the maker turn away from those dark parts of himself, whether in fear or shame? did they fester in resentment and give rise to things void of love? the forgotten ones: because every light makes a shadow, whether intended or otherwise. these shadows are black and forgotten, and they want you to know that you are, too. the dragons you fight: were they heroes worshipped to dragon-godhood, like the ancient human tribes of old did? which hero was hakkon made to possess and subvert? which angry soul perverted hakkon's purpose? the old gods: who created them, and for what? (i have ideas.) the titans: did they make the dwarves or did the dwarves make them? (i'm thinking about this) the archdemons: like demons. a spirit's purpose, perverted. the blight: a perversion of life? or the spiritual equivalent of terraforming the world for an incompatible race? the inquisitor: are you who you are or are you what they believe you to be? how do you know? you are, inevitably, a product of society and what it expects from you. the maker: did someone make him, too? what did they expect of him?
...and, you know, maybe i'm a bit crazy to theorycraft in this direction. but you know what?
i wonder if the impression of teyrn loghain on the fade is ultimately that of a traitor or a hero. i suppose that depends on how you, the player, altered his story and what people believed of him, how they remembered him. if he is remembered as both, is he both? can he only be one?
does this make you a spirit? does that make you a Maker?

The Inquisition Rides A Dragon
Cassandra: my god. She effortlessly glides that beast through the sky. You can’t even ride a horse that well. You have no idea she’s screaming in her mind
Cullen: takes a while to get on, and manages a good while before the dragon purposely shakes him off. Don’t worry, he lives
Varric: refuses. Busy watching Cullen fall off from his deck chair, drink in hand, sunglasses on
Solas: confidence is peaking. Instantly falls off
Cole: he hasn’t climbed on yet. Wait is he… talking to the dragon? Is he befriending the dragon? Oh. He appears to be going for a walk with the dragon to discuss dreams and fears… you didn’t know the dragon had those
Dorian: too busy tryna look seductive on the dragon’s back that when take off comes he is left behind
Iron Bull: cums instantly
Josephine: too timid and scared to get on the dragon. Needs encouragement. Eventually they take off and she immediately goes to burn down a village. She had her reasons… you think
Sera: talks big game. Dragon kicks her in the face. Hospitalised for a week. Insists she won that fight
Leliana: uses this time when everyone’s distracted by dragon riding to have a little self care
Vivienne: organised the self care. Dragons are so vulgar

okay so BASICALLY
I think every summer, regions in Starkhaven set up stands of fruits, vegetables, all sorts of produce in a huge market. People sell clothes, headscarves, even curtains. Pots and pans, pottery, olives and spices.
And Sebastian's parents probably forbade him to go (whilst letting his two older brothers frolic there as much as they wished to </3) because they believed it was 'beneath him'.
And every year his grandfather smuggled him into the market with as much coin as he could carry. Probably propped Seb up onto his shoulders so he could see everything. He'd buy him anything he wanted.
It's one of the things Sebastian misses the most after he goes to Kirkwall.
