Doggust is the monthly challenge where the goal is to draw a dog everyday for the month of August! You can use the official dog list above or, alternatively, draw any dogs you like! Basically, just draw dogs in August! Any dogs, all the dogs, or just one dog 31 times! Use any medium! Have fun!
The Dog List is usually written with care not to repeat dogs from the previous years but this year we’re breaking away from tradition to celebrate 5 years of Doggust with Doggust All Stars!
We asked a number of Doggust Artists old and new to vote for their favourite past Doggust Dogs and the top 30 make up this year's Dog List! Awoo!
Australian shepherds don’t come from Australia, but rather from the United States, with ancestry from Spain. They are popular ranching and herding dogs.
I frickin' did it. I did all 31 days of #Doggust2023 in one day. (Under 4 hours!)
Because I only had 4 hours to work, each drawing took about 5-7 minutes each so that I could meet the deadline. So, this became more like an intensive art assignment than anything.
But I did it! I won!! (Some better than others, but a definite improvement throughout the full challenge.)
Each image has a description that gives a brief idea of my thought and design process for this challenge as the minutes ticked by. (So maybe you should click on them, I dunno...)
#doggust DAY 02 is supposed to be dalmatian, but i draw oreo instead.
@dogsinaugust

Ok so I totally had this up and typed out to post yesterday but I guess I forgot to actually CLICK post. So….day late. Today is now a two dog day.
Doggust, day 12, the smallest retriever with the longest name, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever 🦆🐕
Originating in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia Canada, the Duck Tolling Retriever is the smallest of all retrievers. They are sometimes mistaken for small Golden Retrievers though.
